1 降災旣畢、耶和華諭摩西及祭司亞倫子以利亞撒、曰、

2 以色列會衆、循其世系、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、當核其數。

3 摩押平原、約但河濱、耶利哥相對之所、摩西及祭司以利亞撒總核民數、

4 自二十歲以上者、遵耶和華諭摩西之命。出自埃及之以色列族、其數臚列如左。〇

5 以色列長子流便生哈諾、與其眷聚、巴路與其眷聚、

6 希斯崙與其眷聚、迦米與其眷聚、

7 此流便之子孫、計四萬三千七百三十。

8 巴路生以利押。

9 以利押生尼母利及大單亞庇蘭、此二人在會中、素著名望、與哥喇結黨、攻摩西亞倫、以逆耶和華、

10 地口孔張、吞噬其衆、當時哥喇、與二百五十人、為火所燬、垂戒於後世。
