耶利米書

第37章

1 巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、立約西亞子西底家、爲王於猶大、以代約雅金子約雅斤。

2 耶利米傳耶和華之言、王臣庶民、咸不聽從。

3 西底家王遣示利米子猶甲、與祭司馬西雅子西番雅、至耶利米、請曰、我之上帝耶和華、爾其代予祈求。

4 耶利米未下獄、猶與民往來、

5 迦勒底人圍耶路撒冷、聞法老軍旅、自埃及而至、遂撤圍。

6 耶和華諭耶利米曰、

7 以色列族之上帝耶和華云、猶大王旣遣爾、諮諏於我、爾當告之曰、法老之軍旅、雖來輔翼、終歸埃及、

8 迦勒底人必復至、攻陷斯邑、取而焚之。

9 耶和華又曰、勿自欺云、迦勒底人將去、蓋彼無去志。

10 浸假攻爾之迦勒底人、爲爾所擊、其軍中惟遺被傷之卒、偃於幕下、亦能起、燬斯邑。

11 迦勒底軍、旣懼法老、撤圍而去、

12 耶利米欲離耶路撒冷、往便雅憫地、恢復舊業。

13 適出便雅憫門、閽長哈拿尼亞孫、示利米子以哩雅、執之曰、爾欲投迦勒底人乎。

14 耶利米曰、否、否、迦勒底人、我安肯降之。以哩雅不聽、仍執耶利米、解至牧伯、

15 牧伯怒、撻耶利米、在繕寫約拿單之室、有囹圄、幽之於彼。

16 耶利米下獄、囚於蠶室、居彼日久、

17 西底家召之出獄、令潛入其宮、問曰、耶和華有所命乎。耶利米曰、有、爾必解於巴比倫王手。

18 耶利米又奏西底家王曰、我未嘗得罪於王臣百姓、下我於獄曷故、

19 爾之先知預言、巴比倫王必不攻爾、侵伐斯土、今安在哉、

20 請我主我王、俯聽我求、勿使我復入繕寫約拿單之室、恐入則死。

21 西底家王命人幽耶利米於外獄、曰、於烘餅街、取餅一方、與之食、邑中餅盡、然後已。於是耶利米居於外獄。

Chapter 37

1 And king4428 Zedekiah6667 the son1121 of Josiah2977 reigned4427 instead8478 of Coniah3659 the son1121 of Jehoiakim,3079 whom834 Nebuchadrezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon894 made king4428 in the land776 of Judah.3063

2 But neither3808 he, nor his servants,5650 nor the people5971 of the land,776 did listen8085 to the words1697 of the LORD,3068 which834 he spoke1696 by the prophet5030 Jeremiah.3414

3 And Zedekiah6667 the king4428 sent7971 Jehucal3081 the son1121 of Shelemiah8018 and Zephaniah6846 the son1121 of Maaseiah4641 the priest3548 to the prophet5030 Jeremiah,3414 saying,559 Pray6419 now4994 to the LORD3068 our God430 for us.

4 Now Jeremiah3414 came935 in and went3318 out among8432 the people:5971 for they had not put5414 him into prison.1004 3608

5 Then Pharaoh's6547 army2428 was come3318 forth3318 out of Egypt:4714 and when the Chaldeans3778 that besieged6696 Jerusalem3389 heard8085 tidings8088 of them, they departed5927 from Jerusalem.3389

6 Then came1961 the word1697 of the LORD3068 to the prophet5030 Jeremiah 3414saying,559

7 Thus3541 said559 the LORD,3068 the God430 of Israel;3478 Thus3541 shall you say559 to the king4428 of Judah,3063 that sent7971 you to me to inquire1875 of me; Behold,2005 Pharaoh's6547 army,2428 which is come3318 forth3318 to help5833 you, shall return7725 to Egypt4714 into their own land.776

8 And the Chaldeans3778 shall come7725 again,7725 and fight3898 against5921 this2063 city,5892 and take3920 it, and burn8313 it with fire.784

9 Thus3541 said559 the LORD;3068 Deceive5377 not yourselves,5315 saying,559 The Chaldeans3778 shall surely depart1980 from us: for they shall not depart.1980

10 For though518 you had smitten5221 the whole3605 army2428 of the Chaldeans3778 that fight3898 against you, and there remained7604 but wounded1856 men582 among them, yet should they rise6965 up every man376 in his tent,168 and burn8313 this2063 city5892 with fire.784

11 And it came1961 to pass, that when the army2428 of the Chaldeans3778 was broken5927 up from Jerusalem3389 for fear6440 of Pharaoh's6547 army,2428

12 Then Jeremiah3414 went3318 forth3318 out of Jerusalem3389 to go3212 into the land776 of Benjamin,1144 to separate2505 himself there8033 in the middle8432 of the people.5971

13 And when he was in the gate8179 of Benjamin,1144 a captain1167 of the ward6488 was there,8033 whose name8034 was Irijah,3376 the son1121 of Shelemiah,8018 the son1121 of Hananiah;2608 and he took8610 Jeremiah3414 the prophet,5030 saying,559 You fall5307 away to the Chaldeans.3778

14 Then said559 Jeremiah,3414 It is false;8267 I fall5307 not away to the Chaldeans.3778 But he listened8085 not to him: so Irijah3376 took8610 Jeremiah,3414 and brought935 him to the princes.8269

15 Why the princes8269 were wroth7107 with Jeremiah,3414 and smote5221 him, and put5414 him in prison612 in the house1004 of Jonathan3083 the scribe:5608 for they had made6213 that the prison.3608

16 When3588 Jeremiah3414 was entered935 into413 the dungeon,1004 953 and into413 the cabins,2588 and Jeremiah3414 had remained3427 there8033 many7227 days;3117

17 Then Zedekiah6667 the king4428 sent,7971 and took3947 him out: and the king4428 asked7592 him secretly5643 in his house,1004 and said,559 Is there any word1697 from the LORD?3068 And Jeremiah3414 said,559 There is: for, said559 he, you shall be delivered5414 into the hand3027 of the king4428 of Babylon.894

18 Moreover Jeremiah3414 said559 to king4428 Zedekiah,6667 What4100 have I offended2398 against you, or against your servants,5650 or against this2088 people,5971 that you have put5414 me in prison?3608

19 Where346 are now your prophets5030 which834 prophesied5012 to you, saying,559 The king4428 of Babylon894 shall not come935 against5921 you, nor against5921 this2063 land?776

20 Therefore hear8085 now,6256 I pray4994 you, O my lord113 the king:4428 let my supplication,8467 I pray4994 you, be accepted5307 before6440 you; that you cause me not to return7725 to the house1004 of Jonathan3083 the scribe,5608 lest3808 I die4191 there.8033

21 Then Zedekiah6667 the king4428 commanded6680 that they should commit6485 Jeremiah3414 into the court2691 of the prison,4307 and that they should give5414 him daily3117 a piece3603 of bread3899 out of the bakers'644 street,2351 until5704 all3605 the bread3899 in the city5892 were spent.8552 Thus Jeremiah3414 remained3427 in the court2691 of the prison.4307

4 耶利米未下獄、猶與民往來、

5 迦勒底人圍耶路撒冷、聞法老軍旅、自埃及而至、遂撤圍。

5 Then Pharaoh's6547 army2428 was come3318 forth3318 out of Egypt:4714 and when the Chaldeans3778 that besieged6696 Jerusalem3389 heard8085 tidings8088 of them, they departed5927 from Jerusalem.3389

6 耶和華諭耶利米曰、

6 Then came1961 the word1697 of the LORD3068 to the prophet5030 Jeremiah 3414saying,559

9 耶和華又曰、勿自欺云、迦勒底人將去、蓋彼無去志。

11 迦勒底軍、旣懼法老、撤圍而去、

11 And it came1961 to pass, that when the army2428 of the Chaldeans3778 was broken5927 up from Jerusalem3389 for fear6440 of Pharaoh's6547 army,2428

12 耶利米欲離耶路撒冷、往便雅憫地、恢復舊業。

12 Then Jeremiah3414 went3318 forth3318 out of Jerusalem3389 to go3212 into the land776 of Benjamin,1144 to separate2505 himself there8033 in the middle8432 of the people.5971

15 牧伯怒、撻耶利米、在繕寫約拿單之室、有囹圄、幽之於彼。

15 Why the princes8269 were wroth7107 with Jeremiah,3414 and smote5221 him, and put5414 him in prison612 in the house1004 of Jonathan3083 the scribe:5608 for they had made6213 that the prison.3608

16 耶利米下獄、囚於蠶室、居彼日久、

16 When3588 Jeremiah3414 was entered935 into413 the dungeon,1004 953 and into413 the cabins,2588 and Jeremiah3414 had remained3427 there8033 many7227 days;3117

17 西底家召之出獄、令潛入其宮、問曰、耶和華有所命乎。耶利米曰、有、爾必解於巴比倫王手。

17 Then Zedekiah6667 the king4428 sent,7971 and took3947 him out: and the king4428 asked7592 him secretly5643 in his house,1004 and said,559 Is there any word1697 from the LORD?3068 And Jeremiah3414 said,559 There is: for, said559 he, you shall be delivered5414 into the hand3027 of the king4428 of Babylon.894

18 耶利米又奏西底家王曰、我未嘗得罪於王臣百姓、下我於獄曷故、

18 Moreover Jeremiah3414 said559 to king4428 Zedekiah,6667 What4100 have I offended2398 against you, or against your servants,5650 or against this2088 people,5971 that you have put5414 me in prison?3608

19 爾之先知預言、巴比倫王必不攻爾、侵伐斯土、今安在哉、

19 Where346 are now your prophets5030 which834 prophesied5012 to you, saying,559 The king4428 of Babylon894 shall not come935 against5921 you, nor against5921 this2063 land?776

20 請我主我王、俯聽我求、勿使我復入繕寫約拿單之室、恐入則死。

20 Therefore hear8085 now,6256 I pray4994 you, O my lord113 the king:4428 let my supplication,8467 I pray4994 you, be accepted5307 before6440 you; that you cause me not to return7725 to the house1004 of Jonathan3083 the scribe,5608 lest3808 I die4191 there.8033

21 西底家王命人幽耶利米於外獄、曰、於烘餅街、取餅一方、與之食、邑中餅盡、然後已。於是耶利米居於外獄。

21 Then Zedekiah6667 the king4428 commanded6680 that they should commit6485 Jeremiah3414 into the court2691 of the prison,4307 and that they should give5414 him daily3117 a piece3603 of bread3899 out of the bakers'644 street,2351 until5704 all3605 the bread3899 in the city5892 were spent.8552 Thus Jeremiah3414 remained3427 in the court2691 of the prison.4307
