帖撒羅尼迦前書

1 兄帝乎、言及時期、無庸我書、

2 蓋爾詳知、主日將至、猶盜乘夜猝來、

3 人自謂平康安固、而禍突至、猶妊婦劬勞、其人不得免、

4 然則兄弟不處幽暗、彼日豈猶盜襲爾乎、

5 爾曹皆昭昭、如旦晝人、我儕非昏昏、如暮夜人、

6 我不可若衆寢、必儆醒謹守、

7 因寢者夜寢、醉者夜醉、

8 惟我爲日一晝人、宜讜守以仁、信護厥胸、以望得救爲兜鍪、

9 蓋上帝簡我、不獲譴怒、籟吾主耶穌基督得救、

10 主爲我死、使我或存或亡、與主俱生、

11 故當彼此勸慰、以成厥德、猶爾常行、

12 我勸兄弟尊師、彼宗主爲爾服勞、治爾誨爾、

13

14 我勸兄弟、儆彼無度、勵厥志餒、信未篤者堅之、御衆以寬、

15 愼勿以惡報惡、或交友、或待衆、恒從善如不及、

16 平居欣喜、

17 祈禱不掇、

18 萬事謝恩、乃上帝旨、因基督耶穌命爾、

19 聖神成爾、毋自撲滅、

20 設教者勿藐視之、

21 凡事省察、惟撩乎善、

22 有類於惡者去之、

23 願賜平康之上帝、使爾純潔、守爾一神一氣一體、無疵可摘、迨吾主耶穌基督臨日、

24 召爾者、言出惟行、必爲是事、

25 兄弟乎、爲我祈禱、

26 施禮兄弟、接吻惟潔、

27 我因主命爾、誦此書、與諸聖兄弟、

28 聽願吾主耶穌基督恩祐爾。

1 Thessalonians

Chapter 5

1 But of the times5550 and the seasons,2540 brothers,80 you have2192 no3756 need5532 that I write1125 to you.

2 For yourselves846 know1492 perfectly199 that the day2250 of the Lord2962 so3779 comes2064 as a thief2812 in the night.3571

3 For when3752 they shall say,3004 Peace1515 and safety;803 then5119 sudden160 destruction3639 comes2186 on them, as travail5604 on a woman with child;1722 106 2192 and they shall not 1628escape.

4 But you, brothers,80 are not in darkness,4655 that that day2250 should overtake2638 you as a thief.2812

5 You are all3956 the children5207 of light,5457 and the children5207 of the day:2250 we are not of the night,3571 nor3761 of darkness.4655

6 Therefore686 3767 let us not sleep,2518 as do others;3062 but let us watch1127 and be sober.3525

7 For they that sleep2518 sleep2518 in the night;3571 and they that be drunken3184 are drunken3184 in the night.3571

8 But let us, who are of the day,2250 be sober,3525 putting1746 on1746 the breastplate2382 of faith4102 and love;26 and for an helmet,4030 the hope1680 of salvation.4991

9 For God2316 has not appointed5087 us to wrath,3709 but to obtain4047 salvation4991 by our Lord2962 Jesus2424 Christ,5547

10 Who3588 died599 for us, that, whether1535 we wake1127 or1535 sleep,2518 we should live2198 together260 with him.

11 Why1352 comfort3870 yourselves240 together,240 and edify3618 one1520 another,1520 even2531 as also2532 you do.4160

12 And we beseech2065 you, brothers,80 to know1492 them which3588 labor2872 among1722 you, and are over4291 you in the Lord,2962 and admonish3560 you;

13 And to esteem2233 them very5228 highly1537 4053 in love26 for their work's2041 sake. And be at1722 peace1518 among1722 yourselves.1438

14 Now1161 we exhort3870 you, brothers,80 warn3560 them that are unruly,813 comfort3888 the feebleminded,3642 support472 the weak,772 be patient3114 toward4314 all3956 men.

15 See3708 that none3361 5100 render591 evil2556 for evil2556 to any5100 man; but ever3842 follow1377 that which3588 is good,18 both2532 among1519 yourselves,1438 and to all3956 men.

16 Rejoice5463 ever more.3842
