雅各書

第2章

1 煥乎主耶穌基督、其道兄弟崇之、勿以貌取人、

2 如有人金鐶美服、入爾會堂、亦有貧人、敝衣並入、

3 爾顧美服者曰、坐此上位、語貧者曰、且立於旁、或坐我几下、

4 豈非別貧富、而念慮未平乎、

5 凡我良朋聽之哉、上帝選斯世貧者、欲彼信主以爲富、可嗣上帝所許愛己者之國、

6 何以爾反辱貧者乎、富者非挾制爾、拘曳爾、以至公庭乎、

7 非謗讟爾所稱之美名乎、

8 經之至法云、愛同人如己、爾守此則善、

9 爾如以貌取人、是蹈於惡、爲法所譴、不免罪戾、

10 守全法而犯一誡者、無異犯衆誡、

11 誡曰、勿淫、又曰、勿殺、爾雖無淫行而殺人、亦爲罹法、

12 爾必以不强制人之法被鞫、故所言所行、

13 念茲勿忘、不矜恤人者、則被鞫時、亦必不見矜恤、惟素矜恤人者、喜以待鞠、

14 兄弟乎、人言信主而不行善、何益之有、第信不行、豈能得救乎、

15 兄弟姊妹、衣食匱乏、

16 而爾曰、安然以往、願爾得温飽、如不以彼所需賜之、何益之有、

17 第信不行、其信歸於無有、

18 人言爾惟信主、吾則行善、爾若無行、焉能以信示我、吾旣有行、將以我信示爾、

19 上帝惟一、爾信之誠善、羣鬼亦信之而戰慄、

20 虛誕之人乎、爾當知信而不行、其信歸於無有、

21 昔吾祖亞伯拉罕獻子以撒於壇、非以所行明其義乎、

22 厥行卽信之功效、而信以之全備、

23 應經所云、亞伯拉罕信上帝、遂得稱義、於是亞伯拉罕爲上帝所愛、

24 由是觀之、人不第以信、亦以行明義、

25 妓喇合納使者、示以他途而歸、非以行明義乎、

26 身無神則死、有信靡行亦猶是、

Chapter 2

1 My brothers,80 have2192 not the faith4102 of our Lord2962 Jesus2424 Christ,5547 the Lord of glory,1391 with respect4382 of persons.4382

2 For if1437 there come1525 to your5216 assembly4864 a man435 with a gold5554 ring,5554 in goodly2986 apparel,2066 and there come1525 in also2532 a poor4434 man in vile4508 raiment;2066

3 And you have respect1914 to him that wears5409 the gay2986 clothing,2066 and say2036 to him, Sit2521 you here5602 in a good2573 place; and say2036 to the poor,4434 Stand2476 you there,1563 or2228 sit2521 here5602 under5259 my footstool:5286

4 Are you not then2532 partial1252 in yourselves,1438 and are become1096 judges2923 of evil4190 thoughts?1261

5 Listen,191 my beloved27 brothers,80 Has not God2316 chosen1586 the poor4434 of this5127 world2889 rich4145 in faith,4102 and heirs2818 of the kingdom932 which3739 he has promised1861 to them that love25 him?

6 But you have despised818 the poor.4434 Do not rich4145 men oppress2616 you, and draw1670 you before1519 the judgment2922 seats?

7 Do not they blaspheme987 that worthy2570 name3686 by the which3588 you are called?1941

8 If1487 you fulfill5055 the royal937 law3551 according2596 to the scripture,1124 You shall love25 your neighbor4139 as yourself,4572 you do4160 well:2573

9 But if1487 you have respect4380 to persons,4380 you commit2038 sin,266 and are convinced1651 of the law3551 as transgressors.3848

10 For whoever3748 shall keep5083 the whole3650 law,3551 and yet offend4417 in one1520 point, he is guilty1777 of all.3956

11 For he that said,2036 Do not commit3431 adultery,3431 said2036 also,2532 Do not kill.5407 Now1161 if1487 you commit3431 no3756 adultery,3431 yet1161 if you kill,5407 you are become1096 a transgressor3848 of the law.3551

12 So3779 speak2980 you, and so3779 do,4160 as they that shall be judged2919 by the law3551 of liberty.1657

13 For he shall have judgment2920 without448 mercy,448 that has showed4160 no3361 mercy;1656 and mercy1656 rejoices2620 against2620 judgment.2920

14 What5101 does it profit,3786 my brothers,80 though1437 a man5100 say3004 he has2192 faith,4102 and have2192 not works?2041 can1410 faith4102 save4982 him?

15 If1437 a brother80 or2228 sister79 be naked,1131 and destitute3007 of daily2184 food,5160

16 And one5100 of you say2036 to them, Depart5217 in peace,1515 be you warmed2328 and filled;5526 notwithstanding you give1325 them not those3588 things which are needful2006 to the body;4983 what5101 does it profit?3786

17 Even2532 so3779 faith,4102 if1437 it has2192 not works,2041 is dead,3498 being alone.2596 1438

18 Yes,235 a man5100 may say,2046 You have2192 faith,4102 and I have works:2041 show1166 me your faith4102 without5565 your works,2041 and I will show1166 you my faith4102 by my works.2041

19 You believe4100 that there is one1520 God;2316 you do4160 well:2573 the devils1140 also2532 believe,4100 and tremble.5425

20 But will2309 you know,1097 O vain2756 man,444 that faith4102 without5565 works2041 is dead?3498

21 Was not Abraham11 our father3962 justified1344 by works,2041 when he had offered399 Isaac2464 his son5207 on the altar?2379

22 See991 you how3754 faith4102 worked4903 with his works,2041 and by works2041 was faith4102 made5048 perfect?5048

23 And the scripture1124 was fulfilled4137 which3588 said,3004 Abraham11 believed4100 God,2316 and it was imputed3049 to him for righteousness:1343 and he was called2564 the Friend5384 of God.2316

24 You see3708 then5106 how that by works2041 a man444 is justified,1344 and not by faith4102 only.3440

25 Likewise3668 also2532 was not Rahab4460 the harlot4204 justified1344 by works,2041 when she had received5264 the messengers,32 and had sent1524 them out another2087 way?3598

26 For as the body4983 without5565 the spirit4151 is dead,3498 so3779 faith4102 without5565 works2041 is dead3498 also.2532

17 第信不行、其信歸於無有、

18 人言爾惟信主、吾則行善、爾若無行、焉能以信示我、吾旣有行、將以我信示爾、

18 Yes,235 a man5100 may say,2046 You have2192 faith,4102 and I have works:2041 show1166 me your faith4102 without5565 your works,2041 and I will show1166 you my faith4102 by my works.2041

19 上帝惟一、爾信之誠善、羣鬼亦信之而戰慄、
