第4章

1 金失其光、兼金變色、聖所之石、傾於逵衢兮、郇邑赤子、昔比兼金、今如瓦缶、寕不悲兮。

2 併於上節

3 野犬猶哺其子、我民之婦、殘忍難堪、若曠野之鴕鳥兮、

4 哺乳之嬰、厥口甚渴、齦閉舌卷兮、孩提求餅、無人擘而予之兮。

5 素飫肥甘者、今亡於逵衢兮、昔衣絳袍、爲人提抱者、今偃於糞壤兮。

6 昔所多馬人蹈罪愆、忽致傾圮、非人使然兮、今我民犯罪遭刑、較彼尤甚兮。

7 昔彼顯宦、皜皜無比、若雪之白、若乳之潔、色若珊瑚、體若青玉兮。

8 今其容變黑、形消骨立、有若枯木、至彼巿廛、無人識之兮。

9 寕殞於刃、不願死於饑饉、土產已絶、日漸衰微兮。

10 維彼婦女、素懷矜恤、今民淪喪、烹子而食兮。

11 耶和華震怒、大發厥憤、重降其災、火焚郇邑、燬厥址基兮。

12 敵入耶路撒冷邑門兮、是事也列王億兆、素所不信兮。

13 先知祭司、蹈於罪愆、殺義人於邑中、故遭此事兮。

14 彼若瞽者、往來於巿、血染其衣、人不能捫兮。

15 人叱之曰、去之去之、遍體血污、手不可捫、旣流亡於異邦、異邦人曰、勿旅於此兮。

16 耶和華怒而散之、不復眷顧、祭司長老、失其尊崇兮。

17 郇民曰、我冀鄰邦、以手援予、引領徒勞、望眼欲穿兮。

18 敵襲予後、不敢行於巿廛、生命幾絶、末期伊邇兮。

19 追予之人、捷於飛鷹、襲予於山巔、設伏於曠野兮。　

20 耶和華所沐以膏、我所賴以得生、至異邦中、望其庇蔭者、今陷於坎阱兮。

21 以東人居於烏士、毋庸喜樂、惟此苦杯、必爲爾飲、以致酩酊、裸爾身體兮。

22 郇邑之民、所犯罪愆、今已遭刑、不復被虜、惟彼以東、必彰其穢迹、降以重災兮。

3 Even1571 the sea monsters8577 draw2502 out the breast,7699 they give suck3243 to their young1482 ones: the daughter1323 of my people5971 is become cruel,393 like the ostriches3283 in the wilderness.4057

4 The tongue3956 of the sucking3243 child sticks1692 to the roof2441 of his mouth2441 for thirst:6772 the young children5768 ask7592 bread,3899 and no369 man breaks6566 it to them.

12 The kings4428 of the earth,776 and all3605 the inhabitants3427 of the world,8398 would not have believed539 that the adversary6862 and the enemy341 should have entered935 into the gates8179 of Jerusalem.3389

13 For the sins2403 of her prophets,5030 and the iniquities5771 of her priests,3548 that have shed8210 the blood1818 of the just6662 in the middle7130 of her,

14 They have wandered5128 as blind5787 men in the streets,2351 they have polluted1351 themselves with blood,1818 so that men could3201 not touch5060 their garments.3830

19 Our persecutors7291 are swifter7031 than the eagles5404 of the heaven:8064 they pursued1814 us on the mountains,2022 they laid wait693 for us in the wilderness.4057
