Luke

Chapter 5

1 IT came to pass when the people gath ered around him to hear the word of God, he stood on the shore of the lake of Gennesaret.

2 And he saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had got out of them, and were washing their nets.

3 One of them belonged to Simon Peter; so Jesus went up and sat in it, and he asked to row it a little way from the shore to the water. And he sat and taught the people from the boat.

4 When he was through speaking, he said to Simon, Row out to the deep, and cast your net for a catch.

5 Simon answered and said to him, Teacher, we have toiled all night, and have caught nothing; but just because of your word, I will cast the net.

6 And when they had done this, they inclosed a great many fish; and their net was breaking.

7 So they signalled to their partners in the other boat, to come and help them. And when they came, they filled both the boats, till they were almost sinking.

8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell at the feet of Jesus, and said to him, I beg you, my Lord, leave me alone, for I am a sinful man.

9 For he was amazed, and all who were with him, because of the catch of fish which they took.

10 So also was it with James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. But Jesus said to Simon, Do not be afraid; from henceforth you will be catching men for life.

11 And they brought the boats to land, and left everything and followed him.

12 When Jesus was in one of the cities, there came a man who was covered with leprosy; and he saw Jesus and fell on his face, and besought him, and said, My Lord, if you will, you can cleanse me.

13 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him, I will, be clean; and immediately his leprosy left him.

14 And he charged him not to tell any man; but go and show yourself to the priests, and make an offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.

15 And the fame concerning him went out the more; and many people gathered to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases.

16 But he departed into the wilderness, and prayed.

17 It came to pass on one of the days when Jesus was teaching, the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were sitting, who had come from every town of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem. And the power of God was present to heal them.

18 And some men brought a paralytic on a quilt-bed; and they wanted to go in and lay him before him.

19 And when they found they were not able to carry him in, because of many people, they went up on the roof, and they lowered him down on his quilt-bed from the ceiling into the midst before Jesus.

20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, Man, your sins are forgiven.

21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason saying, Who is this man who talks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins, except God only?

22 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and he answered and said to them, What do you reason in your heart?

23 Which is easier to say, Your sins are forgiven, or just to say, Arise and walk?

24 But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins, he said to the paralytic, I tell you, Arise, take up your quilt-bed and go to your home.

25 And immediately he rose up before their eyes, and took his quilt-bed and went to his house, praising God.

26 And every man was seized with amazement, and they praised God, and were filled with fear, saying, To-day we have seen wonders.

27 After these things, Jesus went out and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the custom house; and he said to him, Follow me.

28 So he left everything, and rose up, and went after him.

29 And Levi gave him a great reception in his house; and there was a large gathering of publicans and others, who were guests with them.

30 And the scribes and the Pharisees murmured and said to his disciples, Why do you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

31 And Jesus answered and said to them, A physician is not needed for those who are well, but for those who are seriously sick.

32 I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance.

33 They said to him, Why do the disciples of John always fast and pray, and also those of the Pharisees; but yours eat and drink?

34 He said to them, You cannot make the sons of the wedding feast fast, so long as the bridegroom is with them.

35 But the days will come, when the bridegroom is taken from them, then they will fast in those days.

36 And he told them a parable, No man cuts a piece of cloth from a new garment and puts it on a worn out garment; so that he may not cut the new, and the new piece will not blend with the old.

37 No man pours new wine into worn out skins; else the new wine will rend the skins, and the wine will run out, and the skins will be ruined.

38 But they pour new wine into new skins, and both are well preserved.

39 And no man drinks old wine, and immediately wants new wine; for he says, The old is delicious.

3 trat1684 er846 in1519 der1520 Schiffe4143 eines, welches Simons4613 war2258, und1161 bat2065 ihn, daß er‘s1321 ein wenig3641 vom575 Lande1093 führete. Und2532 er setzte sich2523 und lehrete das3739 Volk3793 aus1537 dem Schiff4143.

4 Und1161 als er hatte3973 aufgehört zu4314 reden2980, sprach2036 er zu1519 Simon4613: Fahre1877 auf1519 die Höhe899 und2532 werfet5465 eure5216 Netze1350 aus, daß5613 ihr einen Zug tut61.

5 Und2532 Simon4613 antwortete611 und1161 sprach2036 zu ihm846: Meister1988, wir haben die ganze Nacht3571 gearbeitet2872 und nichts3762 gefangen2983; aber1223 auf1909 dein4675 Wort4487 will ich das Netz1350 auswerfen5465.

6 Und2532 da sie4788 das5124 taten4160, beschlossen sie846 eine große4183 Menge4128 Fische2486; und1161 ihr4160 Netz1350 zerriß1284.

7 Und2532 sie846 winkten2656 ihren Gesellen3353, die3588 im1722 andern2087 Schiff4143 waren, daß5620 sie kämen2064 und2532 hülfen4815 ihnen ziehen. Und2532 sie kamen2064 und fülleten beide297 Schiffe4143 voll4130, also daß sie sanken1036.

8 Da das1492 Simon4613 Petrus4074 sah, fiel4363 er JEsu2424 zu den Knieen1119 und1161 sprach3004: HErr2962, gehe von575 mir1700 hinaus1831; ich bin1510 ein sündiger268 Mensch435.

9 Denn1063 es war ihn4023 ein Schrecken2285 ankommen und2532 alle3956, die3739 mit4862 ihm waren, über1909 diesen Fischzug61, den sie846 miteinander getan hatten4815;

10 desselbigengleichen auch3668 Jakobus2385 und1161 Johannes2491, die3739 Söhne des Zebedäus2199, Simons4613 Gesellen2844. Und2532 JEsus2424 sprach2036 zu4314 Simon4613: Fürchte5399 dich nicht2532; denn2532 von575 nun3568 an wirst du3361 Menschen444 fangen2221.

11 Und2532 sie846 führeten die Schiffe4143 zu1909 Lande1093 und verließen863 alles537 und folgeten ihm nach190.

12 Und2532 es begab1096 sich, da er846 in1722 einer Stadt war, siehe2400, da war ein3391 Mann435 voll4134 Aussatzes. Da der JEsum sah1492, fiel4098 er auf1909 sein1511 Angesicht4383 und2532 bat1189 ihn und sprach3004: HErr2962, willst2309 du, so1437 kannst1410 du mich1722 reinigen2511.

13 Und2532 er846 streckte1614 die Hand5495 aus565 und2532 rührete ihn an680 und sprach2036: Ich will‘s2309 tun; sei gereiniget! Und alsbald ging der Aussatz3014 von575 ihm846.

14 Und2532 er846 gebot3853 ihm846 daß, er846‘s niemand3367 sagen2036 sollte; sondern235 gehe hin565 und2532 zeige1166 dich4572 dem Priester2409 und opfere4374 für4012 deine4675 Reinigung2512, wie2531 Mose3475 geboten hat4367, ihnen zum1519 Zeugnis3142.

15 Es kam1330 aber1161 die191 Sage3056 von4012 ihm846 je weiter aus575; und2532 kam1330 viel3123 Volks3793 zusammen, daß sie846 höreten und2532 durch ihn gesund2323 würden von5259 ihren Krankheiten769.

16 Er2258 aber1161 entwich in1722 die846 Wüste2048 und2532 betete4336.

17 Und2532 es begab1096, sich2258 auf1519 einen3391 Tag2250, daß er846 lehrete, und2532 saßen2521 da die3739 Pharisäer5330 und2532 Schriftgelehrten3547, die da kommen2064 waren2258 aus allen3956 Märkten2968 in1722 Galiläa1056 und2532 Judäa2449 und2532 von1537 Jerusalem2419. Und2532 die Kraft1411 des846 HErrn2962 ging von ihm und2532 half2390 jedermann.

18 Und2532 siehe2400, etliche Männer435 brachten einen Menschen444 auf1909 einem Bette2825, der3739 war2258 gichtbrüchig3886; und2532 sie5342 suchten, wie sie846 ihn846 hineinbrächten1533 und2212 vor1799 ihn legten5087.

19 Und2532 da sie846 vor1223 dem Volk3793 nicht3361 fanden2147, an1909 welchem4169 Ort sie846 ihn hineinbrächten1533, stiegen sie auf305 das Dach1430 und ließen2524 ihn durch1223 die Ziegel2766 hernieder mit4862 dem Bettlein2826, mitten3319 unter1519 sie, vor1223 JEsus2424.

20 Und2532 da er846 ihren Glauben4102 sah1492, sprach2036 er846 zu ihm: Mensch444, deine Sünden266 sind dir4675 vergeben863.

21 Und2532 die3739 Schriftgelehrten1122 und2532 Pharisäer5330 fingen an756 zu denken1260 und sprachen3004: Wer5101 ist2076 der, daß er3778 Gotteslästerung988 redet2980? Wer5101 kann1410 Sünden266 vergeben863 denn1508 allein3441 GOtt2316?

22 Da aber1161 JEsus2424 ihre Gedanken1261 merkte1921, antwortete611 er846 und sprach2036 zu4314 ihnen: Was5101 denket ihr846 in1722 euren5216 Herzen2588?

23 Welches5101 ist2076 leichter2123 zu sagen2036: Dir4675 sind deine Sünden266 vergeben863? oder2228 zu sagen2036: Stehe auf1453 und2532 wandle4043?

24 Auf1909 daß2443 ihr aber1161 wisset1492, daß3754 des Menschen444 Sohn Macht1849 hat2192 auf1453 Erden1093 Sünden266 zu vergeben863, sprach2036 er zu dem Gichtbrüchigen3886: Ich sage3004 dir4671, stehe auf142 und2532 hebe dein4675 Bettlein2826 auf1519; und gehe4198 heim3624.

25 Und2532 alsbald3916 stund er846 auf450 vor1799 ihren Augen und hub das3739 Bettlein auf142, darauf er gelegen2621 war1392, und ging565 heim1519 und preisete GOtt2316.

26 Und2532 sie537 entsetzten1611 sich alle und2532 preiseten GOtt2316 und2532 wurden voll4130 Furcht5401 und sprachen: Wir haben2983 heute4594 seltsame Dinge3861 gesehen1492.

27 Und2532 danach ging er846 aus1831 und2532 sah2300 einen Zöllner5057 mit1909 Namen3686 Levi3018 am Zoll5058 sitzen2521 und2532 sprach2036 zu ihm: Folge190 mir3427 nach3326!

28 Und2532 er846 verließ2641 alles537, stund auf450 und folgete ihm nach190.

29 Und2532 Levi3018 richtete4160 ihm846 ein groß3173 Mahl1403 zu in1722 seinem846 Hause3614; und2532 viel4183 Zöllner5057 und2532 andere243 saßen2258 mit3326 ihm3739 zu Tisch.

30 Und2532 die Schriftgelehrten1122 und2532 Pharisäer5330 murreten wider seine846 Jünger3101 und2532 sprachen3004: Warum1302 esset2068 und3326 trinket4095 ihr846 mit4314 den Zöllnern5057 und2532 Sündern268?

31 Und2532 JEsus2424 antwortete611 und sprach2036 zu4314 ihnen: Die Gesunden5198 bedürfen2192 des846 Arztes2395 nicht3756, sondern235 die Kranken2560.

32 Ich bin kommen2064, zu1519 rufen2564 die Sünder268 zur Buße3341 und235 nicht3756 die Gerechten1342.

33 Sie846 aber1161 sprachen2036 zu4314 ihm: Warum1302 fasten3522 Johannes2491 Jünger3101 so2532 oft4437 und2532 beten4160 so viel, desselbigengleichen der3668 Pharisäer5330 Jünger3588, aber1161 deine4674 Jünger essen2068 und2532 trinken4095?

34 Er2076 sprach2036 aber1161 zu4314 ihnen846: Ihr4160 möget die Hochzeitleute nicht zum Fasten3522 treiben, solange der Bräutigam3566 bei1722 ihnen ist1410.

35 Es wird2532 aber1161 die1565 Zeit2250 kommen2064, daß2250 der1722 Bräutigam3566 von575 ihnen genommen wird522; dann5119 werden sie846 fasten3522.

36 Und1161 er sagte3004 zu4314 ihnen ein Gleichnis3850: Niemand3762 flicket einen Lappen1915 vom1909 neuen2537 Kleid2440 auf ein alt Kleid; wo anders1490, so2532 reißt das neue2537, und2532 der Lappen1915 vom575 neuen2537 reimet sich4977 nicht2532 auf das alte3820.

37 Und2532 niemand3762 fasset Most3501 in1519 alte3820 Schläuche779; wo anders1490, so zerreißet der Most3501 die Schläuche779 und2532 wird verschüttet1632, und2532 die Schläuche779 kommen um622.

38 Sondern235 den Most3501 soll992 man in1519 neue2537 Schläuche779 fassen, so2532 werden sie beide297 behalten.

39 Und2532 niemand3762 ist2076, der vom alten3820 trinkt4095 und wolle2309 bald2112 des neuen3501; denn1063 er spricht3004: Der alte3820 ist milder5543.

16 But he departed into the wilderness, and prayed.

16 Er2258 aber1161 entwich in1722 die846 Wüste2048 und2532 betete4336.

17 It came to pass on one of the days when Jesus was teaching, the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were sitting, who had come from every town of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem. And the power of God was present to heal them.

17 Und2532 es begab1096, sich2258 auf1519 einen3391 Tag2250, daß er846 lehrete, und2532 saßen2521 da die3739 Pharisäer5330 und2532 Schriftgelehrten3547, die da kommen2064 waren2258 aus allen3956 Märkten2968 in1722 Galiläa1056 und2532 Judäa2449 und2532 von1537 Jerusalem2419. Und2532 die Kraft1411 des846 HErrn2962 ging von ihm und2532 half2390 jedermann.

18 And some men brought a paralytic on a quilt-bed; and they wanted to go in and lay him before him.

18 Und2532 siehe2400, etliche Männer435 brachten einen Menschen444 auf1909 einem Bette2825, der3739 war2258 gichtbrüchig3886; und2532 sie5342 suchten, wie sie846 ihn846 hineinbrächten1533 und2212 vor1799 ihn legten5087.

19 And when they found they were not able to carry him in, because of many people, they went up on the roof, and they lowered him down on his quilt-bed from the ceiling into the midst before Jesus.

19 Und2532 da sie846 vor1223 dem Volk3793 nicht3361 fanden2147, an1909 welchem4169 Ort sie846 ihn hineinbrächten1533, stiegen sie auf305 das Dach1430 und ließen2524 ihn durch1223 die Ziegel2766 hernieder mit4862 dem Bettlein2826, mitten3319 unter1519 sie, vor1223 JEsus2424.

20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, Man, your sins are forgiven.

20 Und2532 da er846 ihren Glauben4102 sah1492, sprach2036 er846 zu ihm: Mensch444, deine Sünden266 sind dir4675 vergeben863.

21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason saying, Who is this man who talks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins, except God only?

21 Und2532 die3739 Schriftgelehrten1122 und2532 Pharisäer5330 fingen an756 zu denken1260 und sprachen3004: Wer5101 ist2076 der, daß er3778 Gotteslästerung988 redet2980? Wer5101 kann1410 Sünden266 vergeben863 denn1508 allein3441 GOtt2316?

22 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and he answered and said to them, What do you reason in your heart?

22 Da aber1161 JEsus2424 ihre Gedanken1261 merkte1921, antwortete611 er846 und sprach2036 zu4314 ihnen: Was5101 denket ihr846 in1722 euren5216 Herzen2588?

23 Which is easier to say, Your sins are forgiven, or just to say, Arise and walk?

24 But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins, he said to the paralytic, I tell you, Arise, take up your quilt-bed and go to your home.

24 Auf1909 daß2443 ihr aber1161 wisset1492, daß3754 des Menschen444 Sohn Macht1849 hat2192 auf1453 Erden1093 Sünden266 zu vergeben863, sprach2036 er zu dem Gichtbrüchigen3886: Ich sage3004 dir4671, stehe auf142 und2532 hebe dein4675 Bettlein2826 auf1519; und gehe4198 heim3624.

26 And every man was seized with amazement, and they praised God, and were filled with fear, saying, To-day we have seen wonders.

26 Und2532 sie537 entsetzten1611 sich alle und2532 preiseten GOtt2316 und2532 wurden voll4130 Furcht5401 und sprachen: Wir haben2983 heute4594 seltsame Dinge3861 gesehen1492.

29 And Levi gave him a great reception in his house; and there was a large gathering of publicans and others, who were guests with them.

30 And the scribes and the Pharisees murmured and said to his disciples, Why do you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

30 Und2532 die Schriftgelehrten1122 und2532 Pharisäer5330 murreten wider seine846 Jünger3101 und2532 sprachen3004: Warum1302 esset2068 und3326 trinket4095 ihr846 mit4314 den Zöllnern5057 und2532 Sündern268?

31 And Jesus answered and said to them, A physician is not needed for those who are well, but for those who are seriously sick.

31 Und2532 JEsus2424 antwortete611 und sprach2036 zu4314 ihnen: Die Gesunden5198 bedürfen2192 des846 Arztes2395 nicht3756, sondern235 die Kranken2560.

32 I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance.

32 Ich bin kommen2064, zu1519 rufen2564 die Sünder268 zur Buße3341 und235 nicht3756 die Gerechten1342.

33 Sie846 aber1161 sprachen2036 zu4314 ihm: Warum1302 fasten3522 Johannes2491 Jünger3101 so2532 oft4437 und2532 beten4160 so viel, desselbigengleichen der3668 Pharisäer5330 Jünger3588, aber1161 deine4674 Jünger essen2068 und2532 trinken4095?

37 No man pours new wine into worn out skins; else the new wine will rend the skins, and the wine will run out, and the skins will be ruined.

37 Und2532 niemand3762 fasset Most3501 in1519 alte3820 Schläuche779; wo anders1490, so zerreißet der Most3501 die Schläuche779 und2532 wird verschüttet1632, und2532 die Schläuche779 kommen um622.
