Chapter 4

1 And Moses4872 answered6030 and said,559 But, behold,2005 they will not3808 believe539 me, nor3808 hearken8085 unto my voice:6963 for3588 they will say,559 The LORD3068 hath not3808 appeared7200 unto413 thee.

2 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 him, What is that4100 2088 in thine hand?3027 And he said,559 A rod.4294

3 And he said,559 Cast7993 it on the ground.776 And he cast7993 it on the ground,776 and it became1961 a serpent;5175 and Moses4872 fled5127 from before4480 6440 it.

4 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Moses,4872 Put forth7971 thine hand,3027 and take270 it by the tail.2180 And he put forth7971 his hand,3027 and caught2388 it, and it became1961 a rod4294 in his hand: 3709

5 That4616 they may believe539 that3588 the LORD3068 God430 of their fathers,1 the God430 of Abraham,85 the God430 of Isaac,3327 and the God430 of Jacob,3290 hath appeared7200 unto413 thee.

6 And the LORD3068 said559 furthermore5750 unto him, Put935 now4994 thine hand3027 into thy bosom.2436 And he put935 his hand3027 into his bosom:2436 and when he took it out,3318 behold,2009 his hand3027 was leprous6879 as snow.7950

7 And he said,559 Put7725 thine hand3027 into413 thy bosom2436 again. And he put7725 his hand3027 into413 his bosom2436 again; and plucked it out3318 of his bosom,4480 2436 and, behold,2009 it was turned again7725 as his other flesh.1320

8 And it shall come to pass,1961 if518 they will not3808 believe539 thee, neither3808 hearken8085 to the voice6963 of the first7223 sign,226 that they will believe539 the voice6963 of the latter314 sign.226

9 And it shall come to pass,1961 if518 they will not3808 believe539 also1571 these428 two8147 signs,226 neither3808 hearken8085 unto thy voice,6963 that thou shalt take3947 of the water4480 4325 of the river,2975 and pour8210 it upon the dry3004 land: and the water4325 which834 thou takest3947 out of4480 the river2975 shall become1961 blood1818 upon the dry3006 land.

10 And Moses4872 said559 unto413 the LORD,3068 O994 my Lord,136 I595 am not3808 eloquent,376 1697 neither1571 heretofore,4480 8543 1571 4480 8032 nor1571 since4480 227 thou hast spoken1696 unto413 thy servant:5650 but3588 I595 am slow3515 of speech,6310 and of a slow3515 tongue.3956

11 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 him, Who4310 hath made7760 man's120 mouth?6310 or176 who4310 maketh7760 the dumb,483 or176 deaf,2795 or176 the seeing,6493 or176 the blind?5787 have not3808 I595 the LORD?3068

12 Now6258 therefore go,1980 and I595 will be1961 with5973 thy mouth,6310 and teach3384 thee what834 thou shalt say.1696

13 And he said,559 O994 my Lord,136 send,7971 I pray thee,4994 by the hand3027 of him whom thou wilt send.7971

14 And the anger639 of the LORD3068 was kindled2734 against Moses,4872 and he said,559 Is not3808 Aaron175 the Levite3881 thy brother?251 I know3045 that3588 he1931 can speak well.1696 1696 And also,1571 behold,2009 he1931 cometh forth3318 to meet7125 thee: and when he seeth7200 thee, he will be glad8055 in his heart.3820

15 And thou shalt speak1696 unto413 him, and put7760 853 words1697 in his mouth:6310 and I595 will be1961 with5973 thy mouth,6310 and with5973 his mouth,6310 and will teach3384 you853 what834 ye shall do.6213

16 And he1931 shall be thy spokesman1696 unto413 the people:5971 and he shall be,1961 even he1931 shall be1961 to thee instead of a mouth,6310 and thou859 shalt be1961 to him instead of God.430

17 And thou shalt take3947 this2088 rod4294 in thine hand,3027 wherewith834 thou shalt do6213 853 signs.226

18 And Moses4872 went1980 and returned7725 to413 Jethro3503 his father-in-law,2859 and said559 unto him, Let me go,1980 I pray thee,4994 and return7725 unto413 my brethren251 which834 are in Egypt,4714 and see7200 whether they be yet5750 alive.2416 And Jethro3503 said559 to Moses,4872 Go1980 in peace.7965

19 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Moses4872 in Midian,4080 Go,1980 return7725 into Egypt:4714 for3588 all3605 the men376 are dead4191 which sought1245 853 thy life.5315

20 And Moses4872 took3947 853 his wife802 and his sons,1121 and set7392 them upon5921 an ass,2543 and he returned7725 to the land776 of Egypt:4714 and Moses4872 took3947 853 the rod4294 of God430 in his hand.3027

21 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Moses,4872 When thou goest1980 to return7725 into Egypt,4714 see7200 that thou do6213 all3605 those wonders4159 before6440 Pharaoh,6547 which834 I have put7760 in thine hand:3027 but I589 will harden2388 853 his heart,3820 that he shall not3808 let853 the people5971 go.7971

22 And thou shalt say559 unto413 Pharaoh,6547 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 Israel3478 is my son,1121 even my firstborn: 1060

23 And I say559 unto413 thee, Let853 my son1121 go,7971 that he may serve5647 me: and if thou refuse3985 to let him go,7971 behold,2009 I595 will slay2026 853 thy son,1121 even thy firstborn.1060

24 And it came to pass1961 by the way1870 in the inn,4411 that the LORD3068 met6298 him, and sought1245 to kill4191 him.

25 Then Zipporah6855 took3947 a sharp stone,6864 and cut off3772 853 the foreskin6190 of her son,1121 and cast5060 it at his feet,7272 and said,559 Surely3588 a bloody1818 husband2860 art thou859 to me.

26 So he let him go:7503 4480 then227 she said,559 A bloody1818 husband2860 thou art, because of the circumcision.4139

27 And the LORD3068 said559 to413 Aaron,175 Go1980 into the wilderness4057 to meet7125 Moses.4872 And he went,1980 and met6298 him in the mount2022 of God,430 and kissed5401 him.

28 And Moses4872 told5046 Aaron175 853 all3605 the words1697 of the LORD3068 who834 had sent7971 him, and all3605 the signs226 which834 he had commanded6680 him.

29 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 went1980 and gathered together622 853 all3605 the elders2205 of the children1121 of Israel: 3478

30 And Aaron175 spoke1696 853 all3605 the words1697 which834 the LORD3068 had spoken1696 unto413 Moses,4872 and did6213 the signs226 in the sight5869 of the people.5971

31 And the people5971 believed:539 and when they heard8085 that3588 the LORD3068 had visited6485 853 the children1121 of Israel,3478 and that3588 he had looked upon7200 853 their affliction,6040 then they bowed their heads6915 and worshiped.7812

Chapter 4

1 AND Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, The LORD has not appeared to you.

2 And the LORD said to him, What is that in your hand? He said, A staff.

3 And the LORD said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

4 And the LORD said to Moses, Put forth your hand and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand;

5 This is done that they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.

6 And the LORD said furthermore to him, again, Put now your hand into your bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom; and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.

7 Then the LORD said to him, Put your hand back into your bosom again. And he put his hand back into his bosom; and when he took it out of his bosom, behold, it was clean like his other flesh.

8 And if they will not believe you, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

9 And if they will not believe also these two signs, neither listen to you voice, you shall take some of the water of the river and pour it upon the dry land; and the water which you take from the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

10 And Moses said to the LORD. I beseech thee, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore nor since thou has spoken to thy servant; for I am a stutterer and slow of speech.

11 The LORD said to him, Who has made man's mouth? or who makes the dumb, or the deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Is it not I the LORD?

12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.

13 And Moses said to him, O my LORD, send I beseech thee, by the hand of whomsoever thou wilt send.

14 And the anger of the LORD kindled against Moses, and he said to him, Behold, Aaron, your brother, the Levite. I know that he is a good speaker, and also, behold, he will come forth to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

15 And you shall speak to him and put my words in his mouth; and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.

16 And he shall be your spokesman to the people; and he shall be an interpreter for you, and you shall be to him instead of God.

17 And you shall take this staff in your hand, with which you shall do signs.

18 And Moses returned, and went to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, Let me go and return to my brethren who are in Egypt and see whether they are still alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

19 And the LORD said to Moses in Midian, Go, return to Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead.

20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and started on his way back to Egypt; and he took the staff of God in his hand.

21 And the LORD said to Moses. When you return to Egypt, see that you perform all the wonders before Pharaoh which I have performed by your hand, but I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.

22 And you shall say to Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD, Israel is my first-born son;

23 And I say to you, Let my son go, that he may serve me; and if you refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay your first-born son.

24 And it came to pass when Moses was on his way to the inn that the LORD met him and sought to kill him.

25 Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off the foreskin of her son, and she fell down at the feet of the LORD and said, I have a bloody husband.

26 So the LORD let him go. Then she said, You are a bloody husband, because of the circumcision.

27 And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went and met him in the mountain of God, Horeb, and kissed him.

28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD, who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him to perform.

29 Then Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel;

30 And Aaron spoke all the words which the LORD had said to Moses, and performed the signs in the presence of the people.

31 And the people believed; and when they heard that the LORD had remembered the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they knelt down and worshipped before the LORD.

3 And the LORD said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

4 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Moses,4872 Put forth7971 thine hand,3027 and take270 it by the tail.2180 And he put forth7971 his hand,3027 and caught2388 it, and it became1961 a rod4294 in his hand: 3709

4 And the LORD said to Moses, Put forth your hand and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand;

5 That4616 they may believe539 that3588 the LORD3068 God430 of their fathers,1 the God430 of Abraham,85 the God430 of Isaac,3327 and the God430 of Jacob,3290 hath appeared7200 unto413 thee.

5 This is done that they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.

6 And the LORD said furthermore to him, again, Put now your hand into your bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom; and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.

7 Then the LORD said to him, Put your hand back into your bosom again. And he put his hand back into his bosom; and when he took it out of his bosom, behold, it was clean like his other flesh.

8 And it shall come to pass,1961 if518 they will not3808 believe539 thee, neither3808 hearken8085 to the voice6963 of the first7223 sign,226 that they will believe539 the voice6963 of the latter314 sign.226

8 And if they will not believe you, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

9 And if they will not believe also these two signs, neither listen to you voice, you shall take some of the water of the river and pour it upon the dry land; and the water which you take from the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

10 And Moses said to the LORD. I beseech thee, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore nor since thou has spoken to thy servant; for I am a stutterer and slow of speech.

11 The LORD said to him, Who has made man's mouth? or who makes the dumb, or the deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Is it not I the LORD?

12 Now6258 therefore go,1980 and I595 will be1961 with5973 thy mouth,6310 and teach3384 thee what834 thou shalt say.1696

12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.

13 And he said,559 O994 my Lord,136 send,7971 I pray thee,4994 by the hand3027 of him whom thou wilt send.7971

13 And Moses said to him, O my LORD, send I beseech thee, by the hand of whomsoever thou wilt send.

14 And the anger of the LORD kindled against Moses, and he said to him, Behold, Aaron, your brother, the Levite. I know that he is a good speaker, and also, behold, he will come forth to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

15 And thou shalt speak1696 unto413 him, and put7760 853 words1697 in his mouth:6310 and I595 will be1961 with5973 thy mouth,6310 and with5973 his mouth,6310 and will teach3384 you853 what834 ye shall do.6213

15 And you shall speak to him and put my words in his mouth; and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.

16 And he1931 shall be thy spokesman1696 unto413 the people:5971 and he shall be,1961 even he1931 shall be1961 to thee instead of a mouth,6310 and thou859 shalt be1961 to him instead of God.430

16 And he shall be your spokesman to the people; and he shall be an interpreter for you, and you shall be to him instead of God.

17 And thou shalt take3947 this2088 rod4294 in thine hand,3027 wherewith834 thou shalt do6213 853 signs.226

17 And you shall take this staff in your hand, with which you shall do signs.

20 And Moses4872 took3947 853 his wife802 and his sons,1121 and set7392 them upon5921 an ass,2543 and he returned7725 to the land776 of Egypt:4714 and Moses4872 took3947 853 the rod4294 of God430 in his hand.3027

22 And thou shalt say559 unto413 Pharaoh,6547 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 Israel3478 is my son,1121 even my firstborn: 1060

22 And you shall say to Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD, Israel is my first-born son;

23 And I say559 unto413 thee, Let853 my son1121 go,7971 that he may serve5647 me: and if thou refuse3985 to let him go,7971 behold,2009 I595 will slay2026 853 thy son,1121 even thy firstborn.1060

23 And I say to you, Let my son go, that he may serve me; and if you refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay your first-born son.

24 And it came to pass when Moses was on his way to the inn that the LORD met him and sought to kill him.

25 Then Zipporah6855 took3947 a sharp stone,6864 and cut off3772 853 the foreskin6190 of her son,1121 and cast5060 it at his feet,7272 and said,559 Surely3588 a bloody1818 husband2860 art thou859 to me.

25 Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off the foreskin of her son, and she fell down at the feet of the LORD and said, I have a bloody husband.

26 So he let him go:7503 4480 then227 she said,559 A bloody1818 husband2860 thou art, because of the circumcision.4139

26 So the LORD let him go. Then she said, You are a bloody husband, because of the circumcision.

27 And the LORD3068 said559 to413 Aaron,175 Go1980 into the wilderness4057 to meet7125 Moses.4872 And he went,1980 and met6298 him in the mount2022 of God,430 and kissed5401 him.

30 And Aaron175 spoke1696 853 all3605 the words1697 which834 the LORD3068 had spoken1696 unto413 Moses,4872 and did6213 the signs226 in the sight5869 of the people.5971

30 And Aaron spoke all the words which the LORD had said to Moses, and performed the signs in the presence of the people.

31 And the people5971 believed:539 and when they heard8085 that3588 the LORD3068 had visited6485 853 the children1121 of Israel,3478 and that3588 he had looked upon7200 853 their affliction,6040 then they bowed their heads6915 and worshiped.7812
