第140篇

1 （大衛的詩，交與伶長。）耶和華啊，求你拯救我脫離凶惡的人，保護我脫離強暴的人。

2 他們心中圖謀奸惡，常常聚集要爭戰。

3 他們使舌頭尖利如蛇，嘴唇下［under their lips］有蝰蛇的毒液［adders’ poison］。細拉。

4 耶和華啊，求你拯救我脫離惡人的手，保護我脫離強暴的人。他們圖謀推我跌倒。

5 驕傲人為我暗設網羅和繩索；他們在路旁鋪下網，為我［for me］設下圈套。細拉。

6 我曾對耶和華說：你是我的神。耶和華啊，求你留心聽我懇求的聲音。

7 主─耶和華、我救恩的力量啊，在爭戰的日子，你遮蔽了我的頭。

8 耶和華啊，求你不要達［Grant］惡人的心願；不要成就他們的計謀，恐怕他們自高。細拉。

9 至於那些昂首圍困我的人，願他們嘴唇的奸惡遮蔽［cover］自己。

10 願火炭落在他們身上。願他們被丟在火中，拋在深坑裏，不能再起來。

11 說惡言的人在地上必堅立不住；禍患必獵取強暴的人，將他打倒。

12 我知道耶和華必為困苦人伸冤，必為窮乏人辨屈。

13 義人必要稱謝［thanks］你的名；正直人必住在你面前。

Psalm 140

1 DELIVER me, O LORD, from the evil man; preserve me from violent men,

2 Who devise mischiefs in their heart; continually do they stir up contention.

3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips.

4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men, who have purposed to prevent my goings.

5 The proud have hid a snare for me; the cords of their net have they spread over my paths; they have set a trap for me.

6 I said to the LORD, Thou art my God; hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

7 O LORD, my mighty Saviour, thou art the shield of my head in the day of battle.

8 Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; further not their wicked devices; let them not accomplish their purpose.

9 Let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Let burning coals fall upon them; let them fall into the fire, that they rise not up again.

11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth; evil shall hunt the violent man to destroy him.

12 I know that the LORD will defend the cause of the afflicted and the right of the poor.

13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to thy name; the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
