出埃及記

第2章

1 有利未族人、娶利未族女、

2 懷妊生子、見子岐嶷、匿之三月。

3 不可復匿、則取雈爲箱、以石油瀝青塗之、納之其中、置於河濱雈間、

4 子之姊遙立、視其若何。〇

5 是時法老女臨河而浴、其婢遊於河濱、王女見葦間有箱、遣婢取之、

6 啟見有子在焉、子哭、憐之曰、此希伯來人子。

7 子之姊謂法老女曰、我往招希伯來乳媼、以哺此子、如何。

8 曰可。乃往招其母。

9 法老女謂之曰、爲我哺此子、我予汝値、婦取子哺之。

10 子少長、母攜見法老女、法老女以爲己子、命名摩西、蓋曰、我拯之於水、〇

11 摩西旣壯、至兄弟處、見其負戴、又見埃及人擊其兄弟希伯來人、

12 摩西顧左右無人、則殺埃及人、掩之以沙、

13 明日又出、見希伯來二人鬬、謂不義者曰、何傷爾同儔。

14 曰、孰立汝爲有司刑官以治我乎。昔殺埃及人、今欲殺我乎。摩西意謂事洩而懼。

15 法老聞之、欲殺摩西、摩西避法老、往米田、坐於井側。〇

16 米田祭司有七女、皆來汲水、欲盈其槽、飲艾羣羊、

17 衆牧逐之、摩西助女以飲羣羊。

18 諸女返見祖流耳、祖曰、今日爾歸何速。

19 曰、有埃及人拯我、脫於衆牧手、亦爲我汲水飲羣羊。

20 曰、其人安在、因何遣之、請來食餅。

21 流耳欲摩西偕居、摩西悅、流耳以其孫西坡喇妻之、

22 生子命名革順、蓋曰、我爲旅於異地。〇

23 歷年旣久、埃及王薨、以色列族因服役良苦、太息號呼、聲聞於上帝。

24 上帝聞之、追念素與亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所立之約、

25 故眷顧以色列族、特垂念焉。

Chapter 2

1 And there went3212 a man376 of the house1004 of Levi,3878 and took3947 to wife a daughter1323 of Levi.3878

2 And the woman802 conceived,2029 and bore3205 a son:1121 and when she saw7200 him that he was a goodly2896 child,3206 she hid6845 him three7969 months.3391

3 And when she could3201 not longer5750 hide6845 him, she took3947 for him an ark8392 of bulrushes,1573 and daubed2560 it with slime2564 and with pitch,2203 and put7760 the child3206 therein; and she laid7760 it in the flags5488 by the river's2975 brink.8193

4 And his sister269 stood3320 afar7350 off, to wit3045 what would be done6213 to him.

5 And the daughter1323 of Pharaoh6547 came3381 down3381 to wash7364 herself at5921 the river;2975 and her maidens5291 walked1980 along by the river's2975 side;3027 and when she saw7200 the ark8392 among8432 the flags,5488 she sent7971 her maid519 to fetch3947 it.

6 And when she had opened6605 it, she saw7200 the child:3206 and, behold,2009 the babe5288 wept.1058 And she had compassion2550 on5921 him, and said,559 This2088 is one of the Hebrews' 5680children.3206

7 Then said559 his sister269 to Pharaoh's6547 daughter,1323 Shall I go3212 and call7121 to you a nurse3243 of the Hebrew5680 women, that she may nurse3243 the child3206 for you?

8 And Pharaoh's6547 daughter1323 said559 to her, Go.3212 And the maid5959 went3212 and called7121 the child's3206 mother.517

9 And Pharaoh's6547 daughter1323 said559 to her, Take3212 this2088 child3206 away, and nurse3243 it for me, and I will give5414 you your wages.7939 And the women802 took3947 the child,3206 and nursed5134 it.

10 And the child3206 grew,1431 and she brought935 him to Pharaoh's6547 daughter,1323 and he became1961 her son.1121 And she called7121 his name8034 Moses:4872 and she said,559 Because3588 I drew4871 him out of the water.4325

11 And it came1961 to pass in those1992 days,3117 when Moses4872 was grown,1431 that he went3318 out to his brothers,251 and looked7200 on their burdens:5450 and he spied7200 an Egyptian4713 smiting5221 an Hebrew,5680 one of his brothers.251

12 And he looked6437 this3541 way3541 and that way,3541 and when he saw7200 that there was no369 man,376 he slew5221 the Egyptian,4713 and hid2934 him in the sand.2344

13 And when he went3318 out the second8145 day,3117 behold,2009 two8147 men582 of the Hebrews5680 strove5327 together: and he said559 to him that did the wrong,7563 Why4100 smite5221 you your fellow?7453

14 And he said,559 Who4310 made7760 you a prince8269 and a judge8199 over5921 us? intend559 you to kill2026 me, as you killed2026 the Egyptian?4713 And Moses4872 feared,3372 and said,559 Surely403 this thing1697 is known.3045

15 Now when Pharaoh6547 heard8085 this2088 thing,1697 he sought1245 to slay2026 Moses.4872 But Moses4872 fled1272 from the face6440 of Pharaoh,6547 and dwelled3427 in the land776 of Midian:4080 and he sat3427 down by a well.875

16 Now the priest3548 of Midian4080 had seven7651 daughters:1323 and they came935 and drew1802 water, and filled4390 the troughs7298 to water8248 their father's1 flock.6629

17 And the shepherds7462 came935 and drove1644 them away: but Moses4872 stood6965 up and helped3467 them, and watered8248 their flock.6629

18 And when they came935 to Reuel7467 their father,1 he said,559 How4069 is it that you are come935 so soon4116 to day?3117

19 And they said,559 An Egyptian4713 delivered5337 us out of the hand3027 of the shepherds,7462 and also1571 drew1802 water enough for us, and watered8248 the flock.6629

20 And he said559 to his daughters,1323 And where346 is he? why4100 is it that you have left5800 the man?376 call7121 him, that he may eat398 bread.3899

21 And Moses4872 was content2974 to dwell3427 with the man:376 and he gave5414 Moses4872 Zipporah6855 his daughter.1323

22 And she bore3205 him a son,1121 and he called7121 his name8034 Gershom:1648 for he said,559 I have been1961 a stranger1616 in a strange5237 land.776

23 And it came1961 to pass in process7227 of time,3117 that the king4428 of Egypt4714 died:4191 and the children1121 of Israel3478 sighed584 by reason4480 of the bondage,5656 and they cried,2199 and their cry7775 came5927 up to God430 by reason4480 of the bondage.5656

24 And God430 heard8085 their groaning,5009 and God430 remembered2142 his covenant1285 with Abraham,85 with Isaac,3327 and with Jacob.3290

25 And God430 looked7200 on the children1121 of Israel,3478 and God430 had respect3045 to them.

11 And it came1961 to pass in those1992 days,3117 when Moses4872 was grown,1431 that he went3318 out to his brothers,251 and looked7200 on their burdens:5450 and he spied7200 an Egyptian4713 smiting5221 an Hebrew,5680 one of his brothers.251

12 摩西顧左右無人、則殺埃及人、掩之以沙、
