John

Chapter 10

1 TRULY, truly, I say to you, He who does not enter by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up from another place, is a thief and a bandit.

2 But he who enters by the door, is the shepherd of the sheep.

3 To him the door-keeper opens the door; and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by their names and brings them out.

4 And when he has brought out his sheep, he goes before them; and his own sheep * follow him, because they know his voice.

5 The sheep do not follow a stranger, but they run away from him; because they do not know the voice of a stranger.

6 Jesus spoke this parable to them; but they did not understand what he was telling them.

7 Jesus said to them again, Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

8 All who have come are thieves and bandits, if the sheep did not hear them.

9 I am the door; if any man enter by me, he shall live, and he shall come in and go out and find pasture.

10 A thief does not come, except to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they might have life, and have it abundantly.

11 I am the good shepherd; a good shepherd risks his life for the sake of his sheep.

12 But the hired person, who is not the shepherd, and who is not the owner of the sheep, when he sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep and runs away; and the wolf comes and seizes and scatters the sheep.

13 The hired person runs away, because he is hired, and he does not care for the sheep.

14 I am the good shepherd, and I know my own, and my own know me.

15 Just as my Father knows me, I also know my Father; and I lay down my life for the sake of the sheep.

16 I have other sheep also, which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear my voice; and all the sheep will become one flock and one shepherd.

17 This is why my Father loves me, because I lay down my life, so that I may take it up again.

18 No man takes it away from me, but I lay it down of my own will. Therefore I have the power to lay it down, and I have the power to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.

19 There was again a division among the Jews because of these sayings.

20 And many of them said, He is insane and rambles; why do you listen to him?

21 Others said, These are not the words of a crazy man. Why, can a crazy man open the eyes of the blind?

22 Then came the feast of dedication at Jerusalem, and it was winter.

23 And Jesus was walking in the temple in Solomon's porch.

24 Then the Jews surrounded him and said to him, How long do you vex our soul with uncertainty? If you are the Christ, tell us openly.

25 Jesus answered and said to them, I have told you, but you do not believe; yet the works which I do, in the name of my Father, testify of me.

26 But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep, just as I told you.

27 My own sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;

28 And I give to them eternal life; and they will never perish, and no man will snatch them from my hands.

29 For my Father who gave them to me is greater than all; and no man can snatch anything from my Father's hand.

30 I and my Father are one in accord.

31 Then the Jews again took up stones to stone him.

32 Jesus said to them, I have shown you many good works from my Father; for which one of them do you stone me?

33 The Jews said to him, It is not because of the good works we stone you, but because you blaspheme; for while you are only a man, you make yourself God.

34 Jesus said to them, Is it not so written in your law, I said, you are gods?

35 If he called them gods, because the word of God was with them, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36 Yet to the one whom the Father sanctified and sent to the world, you say, You blaspheme, just because I said to you, I am the Son of God.

37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, do not believe me.

38 But if I am doing them, even though you do not believe in me, believe in the works; so that you may know and believe that my Father is with me and I am with my Father.

39 And they wanted again to seize him; but he escaped from their hands.

40 And he went away to the Jordan crossing, to the place where John was, where he first baptized; and he remained there.

41 And many men came to him and said, John did not perform a single miracle; but everything which John said concerning this man is true.

42 And many believed in him.

Kapitel 10

1 Wahrlich281, wahrlich281, ich sage3004 euch5213: Wer nicht3361 zur1519 Tür2374 hineingehet in1223 den Schafstall, sondern235 steiget anderswo237 hinein, der1565 ist305 ein1525 Dieb2812 und2532 ein Mörder3027.

2 Der aber1161 zur1223 Tür2374 hineingehet, der ist2076 ein1525 Hirte4166 der Schafe4263.

3 Demselbigen tut der Türhüter2377 auf455, und2532 die Schafe4263 hören191 seine846 Stimme5456; und2532 er846 ruft seine2398 Schafe4263 mit2596 Namen2564 und2532 führet sie aus1806.

4 Und2532 wenn3752 er846 seine2398 Schafe4263 hat ausgelassen1544, gehet er846 vor1715 ihnen hin4198, und2532 die Schafe4263 folgen190 ihm nach; denn3754 sie kennen1492 seine846 Stimme5456.

5 Einem Fremden245 aber1161 folgen190 sie846 nicht3364 nach190, sondern235 fliehen5343 von575 ihm; denn3754 sie kennen1492 der Fremden245 Stimme5456 nicht3756.

6 Diesen5026 Spruch3942 sagte2036 JEsus2424 zu ihnen846; sie1097 vernahmen aber1161 nicht3756, was5101 es war2258, das1565 er846 zu ihnen sagte2980.

7 Da3767 sprach2036 JEsus2424 wieder3825 zu ihnen846: Wahrlich281, wahrlich281, ich1473 sage3004 euch: Ich bin1510 die Tür2374 zu, den Schafen4263.

8 Alle3956, die3745 vor4253 mir1700 kommen2064 sind1526, die191 sind Diebe2812 und2532 Mörder3027 gewesen, aber235 die Schafe4263 haben191 ihnen846 nicht3756 gehorchet.

9 Ich1473 bin1510 die Tür2374; so1437 jemand5100 durch1223 mich1700 eingehet, der wird selig4982 werden und2532 wird ein1525 und2532 aus1831 gehen1525 und2532 Weide3542 finden2147.

10 Ein Dieb2812 kommt2064 nicht3756, denn1508 daß2443 er2532 stehle2813, würge2380 und2532 umbringe622.

11 Ich1473 bin1510 kommen, daß5228 sie das Leben5590 und volle Genüge haben5087 sollen.

12 Ich bin ein guter Hirte4166; ein guter Hirte lässet sein2398 Leben für die3739 Schafe4263. Ein Mietling3411 aber1161, der2532 nicht3756 Hirte ist5607, des846 die Schafe4263 nicht3756 eigen sind1526, siehet den Wolf3074 kommen2064 und2532 verlässet die Schafe4263 und2532 flieht5343; und2532 der Wolf3074 erhaschet und2532 zerstreuet die Schafe.

13 Der4012 Mietling3411 aber1161 flieht; denn3754 er2076 ist5343 ein Mietling3411 und2532 achtet3199 der Schafe4263 nicht3756.

14 Ich1473 bin1510 ein guter2570 Hirte4166 und2532 erkenne1097 die5259 Meinen1699 und2532 bin bekannt den Meinen1699,

15 wie2531 mich3165 mein3450 Vater3962 kennet1097, und2504 ich kenne1097 den Vater3962. Und2504 ich lasse5087 mein Leben5590 für5228 die Schafe4263.

16 Und2532 ich3165 habe2192 andere243 Schafe4263, die3739 sind2076 nicht3756 aus1537 diesem5026 Stalle833. Und2532 dieselben2548 muß1163 ich herführen71, und2532 sie werden1096 meine3450 Stimme5456 hören191, und wird eine1520 Herde4167 und ein3391 Hirte4166 werden.

17 Darum1223 liebet25 mich3165 mein3450 Vater3962, daß3754 ich1473 mein Leben5590 lasse5087, auf daß2443 ich846‘s wieder3825 nehme2983.

18 Niemand3762 nimmt142 es846 von575 mir1700, sondern235 ich1473 lasse5087 es846 von575 mir1683 selber. Ich habe5087 Macht1849 es846 zu lassen und2532 habe5087 Macht1849 es846 wiederzunehmen2983. Solch5026 Gebot1785 habe2192 ich empfangen2983 von3844 meinem3450 Vater3962.

19 Da3767 ward1096 aber3825 eine Zwietracht4978 unter1722 den Juden2453 über1223 diesen5128 Worten3056.

20 Viele4183 unter1537 ihnen sprachen3004: Er846 hat2192 den Teufel1140 und1161 ist2532 unsinnig3105; was5101 höret191 ihr846 ihm zu?

21 Die andern243 sprachen3004: Das5023 sind2076 nicht3756 Worte4487 eines Besessenen1139; kann1410 der Teufel1140 auch der Blinden5185 Augen3788 auftun455?

22 Es war1096 aber1161 Kirchweih zu1722 Jerusalem2414 und2532 war2258 Winter5494.

23 Und2532 JEsus2424 wandelte4043 im1722 Tempel2411, in1722 der Halle4745 Salomos4672.

24 Da umringten2944 ihn846 die Juden2453 und2532 sprachen2036 zu ihm846: Wie lange4219 hältst du3767 unsere Seelen5590 auf142? Bist1488 du4771 Christus5547, so1487 sage3004 es uns2257 frei3954 heraus!

25 JEsus2424 antwortete611 ihnen: Ich1473 habe es euch5213 gesagt2036, und2532 ihr846 glaubet4100 nicht3756. Die3739 Werke2041, die5023 ich tue4160 in1722 meines Vaters3962 Namen3686, die zeugen3140 von4012 mir3450.

26 Aber235 ihr5210 glaubet nicht3756; denn1063 ihr4100 seid2075 von1537 meinen1699 Schafen4263 nicht3756, wie2531 ich euch5213 gesagt2036 habe.

27 Denn meine3450 Schafe4263 hören191 meine Stimme5456, und2504 ich3427 kenne sie1097, und2532 sie846 folgen190 mir1699.

28 Und2504 ich gebe1325 ihnen846 das ewige166 Leben2222; und2532 sie846 werden726 nimmermehr umkommen622, und niemand3756 wird622 sie5100 mir3450 aus1537 meiner Hand5495 reißen726.

29 Der3739 Vater3962, der sie mir3450 gegeben1325 hat, ist2076 größer denn3187 alles3956; und2532 niemand3762 kann1410 sie aus1537 meines3450 Vaters3962 Hand5495 reißen726.

30 Ich1473 und2532 der Vater3962 sind2070 eins1520.

31 Da3767 huben die Juden2453 abermal Steine3037 auf, daß2443 sie846 ihn steinigten3034.

32 JEsus2424 antwortete611 ihnen846: Viel4183 gute2570 Werke2041 habe1166 ich euch5213 erzeiget von1537 meinem3450 Vater3962; um1223 welches4169 Werk2041 unter denselbigen steiniget ihr846 mich3165?

33 Die Juden2453 antworteten611 ihm und2532 sprachen3004: Um4012 des846 guten2570 Werks2041 willen steinigen3034 wir dich4571 nicht3756, sondern235 um4012 der Gotteslästerung988 willen, und daß3754 du4771 ein Mensch444 bist5607 und machest4160 dich4572 selbst zu einem GOtt2316.

34 JEsus2424 antwortete611 ihnen: Stehet2076 nicht3756 geschrieben1125 in1722 eurem5216 Gesetz3551: Ich1473 habe gesagt2036, ihr846 seid2075 Götter2316?

35 So1487 er2036 die3739 Götter2316 nennet, zu4314 welchen das1565 Wort3056 Gottes2316 geschah (und2532 die Schrift1124 kann1410 doch nicht gebrochen werden1096),

36 sprecht2036 ihr5210 denn zu dem, den der Vater3962 geheiliget und2532 in1519 die3739 Welt gesandt hat649: Du lästerst GOtt987, darum daß3754 ich sage3004, ich bin1510 Gottes2316 Sohn?

37 Tue4160 ich3427 nicht3756 die Werke2041 meines Vaters3962, so1487 glaubet4100 mir3450 nicht3361.

38 Tue4160 ich2504 sie846 aber1161, glaubet4100 doch2579 den Werken2041, wollt ihr4100 mir1698 nicht3361 glauben4100, auf daß1487 ihr1097 erkennet und2532 glaubet, daß2443 der Vater3962 in1722 mir1698 ist und3754 ich in1722 ihm.

39 Sie846 suchten2212 abermal, ihn zu1537 greifen4084; aber3767 er846 entging ihnen aus1831 ihren Händen5495

40 und2532 zog hin565 wieder3825 jenseit4008 des2532 Jordans2446 an1519 den Ort5117, da3699 Johannes2491 vorhin getauft907 hatte, und4412 blieb2258 allda1563.

41 Und2532 viele4183 kamen2064 zu4314 ihm846 und2532 sprachen2036: Johannes2491 tat4160 kein3762 Zeichen4592; aber1161 alles, was3745 Johannes2491 von4012 diesem5127 gesagt hat, das3956 ist2258 wahr227.

42 Und2532 glaubten4100 allda1563 viele4183 an1519 ihn846.

31 Then the Jews again took up stones to stone him.

32 Jesus said to them, I have shown you many good works from my Father; for which one of them do you stone me?

32 JEsus2424 antwortete611 ihnen846: Viel4183 gute2570 Werke2041 habe1166 ich euch5213 erzeiget von1537 meinem3450 Vater3962; um1223 welches4169 Werk2041 unter denselbigen steiniget ihr846 mich3165?

33 The Jews said to him, It is not because of the good works we stone you, but because you blaspheme; for while you are only a man, you make yourself God.

33 Die Juden2453 antworteten611 ihm und2532 sprachen3004: Um4012 des846 guten2570 Werks2041 willen steinigen3034 wir dich4571 nicht3756, sondern235 um4012 der Gotteslästerung988 willen, und daß3754 du4771 ein Mensch444 bist5607 und machest4160 dich4572 selbst zu einem GOtt2316.

36 Yet to the one whom the Father sanctified and sent to the world, you say, You blaspheme, just because I said to you, I am the Son of God.

36 sprecht2036 ihr5210 denn zu dem, den der Vater3962 geheiliget und2532 in1519 die3739 Welt gesandt hat649: Du lästerst GOtt987, darum daß3754 ich sage3004, ich bin1510 Gottes2316 Sohn?

37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, do not believe me.

37 Tue4160 ich3427 nicht3756 die Werke2041 meines Vaters3962, so1487 glaubet4100 mir3450 nicht3361.

38 But if I am doing them, even though you do not believe in me, believe in the works; so that you may know and believe that my Father is with me and I am with my Father.

38 Tue4160 ich2504 sie846 aber1161, glaubet4100 doch2579 den Werken2041, wollt ihr4100 mir1698 nicht3361 glauben4100, auf daß1487 ihr1097 erkennet und2532 glaubet, daß2443 der Vater3962 in1722 mir1698 ist und3754 ich in1722 ihm.

39 And they wanted again to seize him; but he escaped from their hands.

41 Und2532 viele4183 kamen2064 zu4314 ihm846 und2532 sprachen2036: Johannes2491 tat4160 kein3762 Zeichen4592; aber1161 alles, was3745 Johannes2491 von4012 diesem5127 gesagt hat, das3956 ist2258 wahr227.
