第3章

1 尼尼微邑惟嗜殺人、所行詭譎、强據攘奪、靡有厭足、今禍將及矣、

2 鞭聲遠聞、車輪轟轟、馬騰驤、車馳驅、

3 騎卒踴躍、戈矛閃爍、尸相枕藉、骸骨無數、人蹶於上、

4 爾邑之人、譬諸娼妓、具殊色、有淫行、屢行邪術、蠱惑庶民、故罹斯害。

5 萬有之主耶和華曰、我必攻爾、去爾帷裳、以蒙爾首、裸爾體、俾諸邦國、知爾受辱、

6 我以糞壤污爾、使爾含羞、爲衆目覩、

7 凡見爾者將遁逃遙立云、尼尼微邑傾圮矣、孰矜恤之、孰慰藉之、

8 爾豈愈於挪亞門哉、彼居河間、一水縈繞、倚海爲塹、以是扞禦、

9 古實埃及率旅若林、以助其戰、弗、路庇爲其輔翼、

10 彼亦遷徙、爲人所俘、其嬰孩相摔於交衢、貴顯之人、繫以縲絏、敵人掣籤、以决其誰得、

11 爾亦必飲苦杯、至於酩酊、自匿於城中、以避諸敵、

12 爾之城垣、必若初熟之無花果、人一搖撼、果實紛落、

13 爾之民人、無不畏葸、同於婦女、邦國之門必破、敵人入之、爾之關隘、俱焚以火、

14 邑將被圍、當鑿汲道、修城垣、搗土使堅、設陶造瓦、

15 爾在邑中、雖衆於蝗、不可勝數、亦必遘災、有若蠶食、爲火所焚、爲刃所戮、

16 爾之商賈、多於天星、衆比蝗蟲、遘災之時、流離四方、

17 牧伯將軍、多若蝗蟲、遇寒之時、棲於藩籬、日出羣飛、踪迹無存、

18 亞述王乎、爾之牧伯顯宦、俱偃而臥、爾之庶民散於岡巒、不得復聚、

19 所受之傷、不得醫痊、凡聞斯音、必鼓其掌、蓋爾之暴虐、遐邇咸知焉。

1 Woe1945 to the bloody1818 city!5892 it is all3605 full4392 of lies3585 and robbery;6563 the prey2964 departs4185 not;

2 The noise6963 of a whip,7752 and the noise6963 of the rattling7494 of the wheels,212 and of the prancing1725 horses,5483 and of the jumping7540 chariots.4818

3 The horseman6571 lifts5927 up both the bright3851 sword2719 and the glittering1300 spear:2595 and there is a multitude7230 of slain,2491 and a great3514 number of carcasses;6297 and there is none369 end7097 of their corpses;1472 they stumble3782 on their corpses:1472

4 Because of the multitude7230 of the prostitutions2183 of the well favored2896 2580 harlot,2181 the mistress1172 of witchcrafts,3785 that sells4376 nations1471 through her prostitutions,2183 and families4940 through her witchcrafts.3785

5 Behold,2005 I am against413 you, said5002 the LORD3068 of hosts;6635 and I will discover1540 your skirts7757 on your face,6440 and I will show7200 the nations1471 your nakedness,4626 and the kingdoms4467 your shame.7036

6 And I will cast7993 abominable8251 filth on you, and make you vile,5034 and will set7760 you as a spectacle.7210

7 And it shall come1961 to pass, that all3605 they that look7200 on you shall flee5074 from you, and say,559 Nineveh5210 is laid waste:7703 who4310 will bemoan5110 her? from where370 shall I seek1245 comforters5162 for you?

8 Are you better3190 than populous527 No,4996 that was situate3427 among the rivers,2975 that had the waters4325 round5439 about it, whose834 rampart2426 was the sea,3220 and her wall2346 was from the sea?3220

9 Ethiopia3568 and Egypt4714 were her strength,6109 and it was infinite;7097 Put6316 and Lubim3864 were your helpers.5833

10 Yet1571 was she carried1473 away,1473 she went1980 into captivity:7628 her young children5768 also1571 were dashed7376 in pieces at the top7218 of all3605 the streets:2351 and they cast3032 lots1486 for her honorable3513 men, and all3605 her great1419 men were bound7576 in chains.2131

11 You also1571 shall be drunken:7937 you shall be hid,5956 you also1571 shall seek1245 strength4581 because of the enemy.341

12 All3605 your strong4013 holds4013 shall be like fig8384 trees with the first ripe1063 figs: if518 they be shaken,5128 they shall even fall5307 into5921 the mouth6310 of the eater.398

13 Behold,2009 your people5971 in the middle7130 of you are women:802 the gates8179 of your land776 shall be set wide6605 open6605 to your enemies:341 the fire784 shall devour398 your bars.1280

14 Draw7579 you waters4325 for the siege,4692 fortify2388 your strong4013 holds:4013 go935 into clay,2916 and tread7429 the mortar,2563 make strong2388 the brick kiln.4404

15 There8033 shall the fire784 devour398 you; the sword2719 shall cut3772 you off, it shall eat398 you up like the cankerworm:3218 make yourself many3513 as the cankerworm,3218 make yourself many3513 as the locusts.697

16 You have multiplied7235 your merchants7402 above the stars3556 of heaven:8064 the cankerworm3218 spoils,6584 and flees5775 away.

17 Your crowned4502 are as the locusts,697 and your captains2951 as the great1462 grasshoppers,1462 which camp2583 in the hedges1448 in the cold7135 day,3117 but when the sun8121 rises2224 they flee5074 away, and their place4725 is not known3045 where335 they are.
