Luke

Chapter 13

1 AT that time, there came some men and told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

2 And Jesus answered and said to them, Do you think that those Galileans were greater sinners than all the Galileans, because this happened to them?

3 No; but I say to you, that all of you also, if you do not repent, you will perish in the same way.

4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and it killed them; do you think that they were greater sinners than all the men who live in Jerusalem?

5 No, but I say to you, that unless you repent, all of you will perish like them.

6 And he spoke this parable; A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit on it, and he did not find any.

7 So he said to the laborer, Behold, for three years, I have been coming and seeking fruit on this fig tree, and found none; cut it down; why should it waste the ground?

8 The laborer said to him, My lord, let it remain this year also, until I work it and fertilize it.

9 It might bear fruit; and if not, then you can cut it down.

10 While Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath,

11 There was there a woman who was afflicted with rheumatism for eighteen years; and was bent down and could never straighten herself at all.

12 Jesus saw her, and called her, and said to her, Woman, you are loosened from your sickness.

13 And he laid his hand on her, and immediately she straightened up, and praised God.

14 But the leader of the synagogue answered with anger, because Jesus healed on the sabbath; and he said to the people, There are six days in which men should work; in those days you ought to come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

15 Jesus answered and said to him, O hypocrites, does not each one of you loosen his ox or his ass, from the manger, and go with it to give it drink?

16 This one is a daughter of Abraham, and behold, the adversary has bound her for eighteen years; was it not necessary for her to be loosened from this bond on the sabbath day?

17 And when he said these things, all who opposed him were ashamed; and all the people rejoiced over all the wonders which were done by his hand.

18 Jesus said, To what is the kingdom of God like? and to what shall I liken it?

19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his garden, and it grew and became a large tree, and the fowls of the sky settled on its branches.

20 Again Jesus said, To what shall I liken the kingdom of God?

21 It is like the leaven which a woman took and buried in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.

22 And he journeyed through the villages and cities, teaching, and going to Jerusalem.

23 A man asked him, Are there only a few who are to be saved? Jesus said to them,

24 Strive to enter in through the narrow door; for I say to you, that many will seek to enter in, and will not be able.

25 From the hour when the master of the house rises up and locks the door, you will be standing outside and knocking at the door, and you will begin to say, Our Lord, our Lord, open for us; and he will answer and say, I say to you, I do not know you where you come from.

26 And you will begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you taught in our streets.

27 And he will say to you, I do not know you where you come from; depart from me, O you workers of iniquity.

28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you thrown outside.

29 And they will come from the east and from the west, and from the south and from the north, and sit down in the kingdom of God.

30 And behold, there are some who are last, who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.

31 In that very day, some of the men of the Pharisees drew near and said to him, Get out and go away from here; because Herod wants to kill you.

32 Jesus said to them, Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons, and I heal today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will be through.

33 But I must do my work today and tomorrow, and I will leave the next day; because it is impossible that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem.

34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, murderess of prophets, and stoner of those who are sent to her! how many times I longed to gather your children together, as a hen which gathers her chickens under her wings, but you were not willing!

35 Behold, your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, that you will not see me until you say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

1 Es waren3918 aber1161 zu1722 derselbigen Zeit2540 etliche5100 dabei, die verkündigten518 ihm von4012 den Galiläern1057, welcher3739 Blut129 Pilatus4091 samt3326 ihrem Opfer2378 vermischt hatte3396.

2 Und2532 JEsus2424 antwortete611 und3754 sprach2036 zu ihnen: Meinet1380 ihr846, daß3754 diese3778 Galiläer1057 vor3844 allen Galiläern1057 Sünder268 gewesen1096 sind, die5108 weil sie das3956 erlitten3958 haben?

3 Ich sage3004: Nein, sondern235, so3362 ihr euch5213 nicht3780 bessert3340, werdet ihr alle3956 auch also5615 umkommen622.

4 Oder2228 meinet1380 ihr846, daß3754 die3739 achtzehn, auf1909 welche der1565 Turm4444 in1722 Siloah4611 fiel4098 und erschlug615 sie3778, seien schuldig3781 gewesen1096 vor3844 allen3956 Menschen444, die zu1722 Jerusalem2419 wohnen2730?

5 Ich sage3004: Nein, sondern235 so3362 ihr euch5213 nicht3780 bessert3340, werdet ihr alle3956 auch3668 also umkommen622.

6 Er846 sagte3004 ihnen aber1161 dies5026 Gleichnis3850: Es hatte2192 einer5100 einen Feigenbaum4808, der war gepflanzt5452 in1722 seinem Weinberge290; und2532 kam2064 und2212 suchte Frucht2590 darauf und2532 fand2147 sie nicht3756.

7 Da2532 sprach2036 er846 zu4314 dem Weingärtner289: Siehe2400, ich bin nun drei5140 Jahre2094 lang alle Jahre kommen2064 und1161 habe Frucht2590 gesucht auf1722 diesem5026 Feigenbaum4808 und2212 finde2147 sie nicht3756. Haue1581 ihn ab; was hindert2673 er das Land1093?

8 Er846 aber1161 antwortete611 und2532 sprach3004 zu863 ihm846: Herr2962, laß863 ihn846 noch dies Jahr2094, bis daß ich5124 um4012 ihn2874 grabe4626 und2532 bedünge ihn,

9 ob er846 wollte3195 Frucht2590 bringen4160; wo nicht1490, so haue1581 ihn danach ab.

10 Und1161 er2258 lehrete in1722 einer3391 Schule4864 am1722 Sabbat4521.

11 Und2532 siehe2400, ein1519 Weib1135 war2258 da, das hatte2192 einen Geist4151 der Krankheit769 achtzehn Jahre2094; und2532 sie war2258 krumm4794 und2532 konnte1410 nicht3361 wohl aufsehen352.

12 Da sie aber1161 JEsus2424 sah1492, rief4377 er846 sie zu sich und2532 sprach2036 zu ihr846: Weib1135, sei los630 von deiner4675 Krankheit769!

13 Und2532 legte2007 die Hände5495 auf461 sie2007; und2532 alsbald3916 richtete sie846 sich auf und2532 preisete GOtt2316.

14 Da3767 antwortete611 der5025 Oberste der Schule752 und1161 war1526 unwillig23, daß3754 JEsus2424 auf den Sabbat4521 heilete, und2532 sprach3004 zu1722 dem3739 Volk3793: Es sind sechs1803 Tage2250, darinnen man1163 arbeiten2038 soll; in1722 denselbigen kommt2064 und laßt euch heilen2323 und nicht3361 am Sabbattage4521.

15 Da antwortete611 ihm der HErr2962 und2532 sprach2036: Du3767 Heuchler5273, löset3089 nicht3756 ein jeglicher1538 unter euch5216 seinen846 Ochsen1016 oder2228 Esel3688 von575 der Krippe5336 am Sabbat4521 und2532 führet520 ihn zur Tränke4222?

16 Sollte1163 aber1161 nicht3756 gelößt werden3089 am Sabbat4521 diese5127, die3739 doch Abrahams11 Tochter2364 ist5607, von575 diesem5026 Bande1199, welche Satanas4567 gebunden1210 hatte nun wohl achtzehn Jahre2094?

17 Und2532 als er846 solches5023 sagte3004, mußten sich5463 schämen2617 alle3956, die ihm846 wider gewesen1096 waren480. Und2532 alles Volk3793 freuete sich über1909 alle herrlichen1741 Taten, die von5259 ihm geschahen.

18 Er846 sprach3004 aber1161: Wem5101 ist2076 das932 Reich Gottes2316 gleich3664, und2532 wem5101 soll ich‘s vergleichen3666?

19 Es ist2076 einem Senfkorn2848 gleich3664, welches ein Mensch444 nahm2983 und2532 warf‘s906 in1519 seinen1438 Garten2779; und2532 es wuchs837 und2532 ward1096 ein großer3173 Baum1186, und die3739 Vögel4071 des1722 Himmels3772 wohneten unter1519 seinen846 Zweigen2798.

20 Und2532 abermal sprach2036 er: Wem5101 soll ich das932 Reich Gottes2316 vergleichen3666?

21 Es ist2076 einem Sauerteige2219 gleich3664, welchen3739 ein Weib1135 nahm2983 und verbarg1470 ihn unter1519 drei5140 Scheffel4568 Mehls, bis2193 daß es gar sauer ward2220.

22 Und2532 er1321 ging durch1279 Städte4172 und2532 Märkte2968 und2532 lehrete und nahm4160 seinen Weg4197 gen1519 Jerusalem2419.

23 Es sprach2036 aber1161 einer5100 zu4314 ihm846: HErr2962, meinest du, daß wenige3641 selig4982 werden? Er846 aber1161 sprach2036 zu ihnen:

24 Ringet danach, daß3754 ihr2480 durch1223 die enge4728 Pforte4439 eingehet1525; denn2532 viele4183 werden, das sage3004 ich euch5213, danach trachten, wie sie hineinkommen1525, und2212 werden‘s nicht3756 tun können2480.

25 Von dem an, wenn der Hauswirt3617 aufgestanden ist und2532 die Tür2374 verschlossen hat608, da werdet ihr5209 denn anfangen756 draußen1854 zu stehen2476, und2532 an die Tür2374 klopfen2925 und2532 sagen3004: HErr2962, HErr2962, tu455 uns2254 auf1453! Und2532 er wird antworten611 und zu euch5213 sagen2046: Ich302 kenne1492 euer nicht3756, wo4159 ihr2075 her seid.

26 So5119 werdet ihr denn anfangen756 zu1722 sagen3004: Wir haben vor1799 dir4675 gegessen5315 und2532 getrunken4095, und2532 auf den Gassen4113 hast du uns2257 gelehret.

27 Und2532 er wird sagen2046: Ich sage3004 euch5213, ich kenne1492 euer nicht3756, wo4159 ihr5209 her seid; weichet868 alle3956 von575 mir1700, ihr2075 Übeltäter2040!

28 Da1563 wird1544 sein2071 Heulen2805 und2532 Zähneklappen1030, wenn3752 ihr sehen3700 werdet Abraham11 und2532 Isaak2464 und2532 Jakob2384 und2532 alle3956 Propheten4396 im1722 Reich932 Gottes2316, euch5209 aber1161 hinausgestoßen1854.

29 Und2532 es werden kommen2240 vom575 Morgen395 und2532 vom Abend1424, von575 Mitternacht1005. und2532 vom Mittage3558, die zu1722 Tische sitzen347 werden im Reich932 Gottes2316.

30 Und2532 siehe2400, es sind1526 Letzte2078, die3739 werden die3739 Ersten4413 sein2071; und2532 sind1526 Erste4413, die werden die Letzten2078 sein2071.

31 An demselben846 Tage2250 kamen1831 etliche5100 Pharisäer5330 und2532 sprachen3004 zu4334 ihm846: Heb‘ dich4571 hinaus und gehe4198 von hinnen1782; denn3754 Herodes will2309 dich töten615.

32 Und2532 er846 sprach2036 zu ihnen: Gehet hin4198 und2532 saget2036 demselbigen Fuchs258: Siehe2400, ich treibe Teufel1140 aus1544 und2532 mache2005 gesund2392 heute4594 und2532 morgen839 und am dritten5154 Tage werde ich ein Ende nehmen5048.

33 Doch4133 muß1163 ich heute4594 und2532 morgen839 und2532 am Tage danach wandeln4198; denn3754 es tut‘s nicht, daß3165 ein Prophet4396 umkomme622 außer1854 Jerusalem2419.
