John

Chapter 12

1 SIX days before the passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.

2 And they gave him a banquet there; Martha served; but Lazarus was one of the guests who were with him.

3 Then Mary took a cruse containing pure and expensive nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

4 And Judas of Iscariot, one of his disciples, who was about to betray him, said,

5 Why was not this oil sold for three hundred pennies, and given to the poor?

6 He said this, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and the purse was with him, and he carried whatever was put in it.

7 Jesus then said, Leave her alone; she has kept it for the day of my burial.

8 For you have the poor always with you, but me you have not always.

9 Many people of the Jews heard that Jesus was there; so they came, not only on account of Jesus, but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead.

10 And the high priests were thinking of killing Lazarus also;

11 Because on his account a great many Jews were leaving and believing in Jesus.

12 On the next day, a large crowd which had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

13 Took branches of palm trees, and went out to greet him, and they cried out and said, Hosanna, Blessed is the king of Israel who comes in the name of the Lord.

14 And Jesus found an ass and sat on it; as it is written,

15 Fear not, O daughter of Zion; behold, your king cometh to you, riding on the colt of an ass.

16 His disciples did not understand these things at that time; but when Jesus was glorified, then his disciples remembered that these things were written concerning him, and that they had done these things to him.

17 The people who were with him testified that he had called Lazarus from the tomb, and raised him from the dead.

18 It was on this account that large crowds went out to meet him, for they heard that he had performed this miracle.

19 The Pharisees said one to another, Do you see that you have not been able to gain anything? Behold, all the people have gone after him.

20 Now there were some Gentiles * among them who had come up to worship at the feast.

21 They came and approached Philip of Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, My lord, we would like to see Jesus.

22 Philip came and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip told Jesus.

23 Jesus answered and said to them, The hour has come that the Son of man should be glorified.

24 Truly, truly, I say to you, that unless a grain of wheat falls and dies in the ground, it will be left alone; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.

25 He who loves his life will lose it; and he who has no concern for his life in this world will keep it unto life eternal.

26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also will my servant be; he who serves me, him my Father will honor.

27 Now my soul is disturbed, and what shall I say? O my Father, deliver me from this hour; but for this cause I came to this very hour.

28 O Father, glorify your name. Then a voice was heard from heaven, I am glorified, and I shall again be glorified.

29 And the people who stood by heard it, and said, It was thunder; others said, An angel spoke to him.

30 Jesus answered and said to them, This voice was not on my account, but for your sake.

31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the leader of this world will be cast out.

32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw every man to me.

33 He said this, to show by what kind of death he was to die.

34 The people said to him, We have heard from the law that the Christ shall remain forever; how do you say that the Son of man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of man?

35 Jesus said to them, The light is with you for a little while; walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overcome you; and he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes.

36 While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become the sons of the light. Jesus spoke these things, and went away and hid himself from them.

37 Even though he had performed all of these miracles before them, yet they did not believe in him;

38 So that the word of the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled, who said, My Lord, who will believe our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

39 For this reason, they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,

40 Their eyes have become blind and their heart darkened, so that they cannot see with their eyes and understand with their heart; let them return and I will heal them.

41 Isaiah said these things, when he saw his glory and spoke concerning him.

42 Many of the leading men also believed in him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they might not be cast out of the synagogue.

43 For they loved the honor of men more than the glory of God.

44 Jesus cried out and said, He who believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me.

45 And he who sees me, has already seen him who sent me.

46 I have come into the world as the light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.

47 And he who hears my words, and does not obey them, I will not judge him; for I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 He who oppresses me and does not receive my words, there is one who will judge him; the word which I have spoken, it will judge him at the last day.

49 For I did not speak of myself; but the Father who sent me, he commanded me what to say and what to speak.

50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting; these things therefore which I speak, just as my Father told me, so I speak.

Kapitel 12

1 Sechs1803 Tage2250 vor4253 Ostern3957 kam2064 JEsus2424 gen1519 Bethanien963, da3767 Lazarus2976 war2258, der3739 Verstorbene2348, welchen JEsus auferwecket hatte1453 von1537 den3588 Toten3498.

2 Daselbst machten4160 sie846 ihm846 ein Abendmahl1173, und2532 Martha3136 dienete; Lazarus2976 aber3767 war2258 der1520 einer, die mit ihm zu Tische saßen4873.

3 Da3767 nahm2983 Maria3137 ein Pfund3046 Salbe3464 von1537 ungefälschter, köstlicher4186 Narde und2532 salbete die Füße4228 JEsu2424 und trocknete1591 mit ihrem Haar2359 seine846 Füße4228. Das Haus3614 aber1161 ward voll4137 vom Geruch3744 der Salbe.

4 Da3767 sprach3004 seiner1537 Jünger3101 einer, Judas2455, Simons4613 Sohn, Ischariot2469, der1520 ihn846 hernach3195 verriet3860:

5 Warum1302 ist4097 diese5124 Salbe3464 nicht3756 verkauft4097 um dreihundert5145 Groschen1220 und2532 den Armen4434 gegeben1325?

6 Das5124 sagte er2532 aber1161 nicht3756, daß3754 er nach4012 den Armen4434 fragte3199, sondern235 er war2258 ein Dieb2812 und3754 hatte2036 den Beutel1101 und2532 trug941, was gegeben ward906.

7 Da3767 sprach2036 JEsus2424: Laß863 sie846 mit Frieden! Solches hat sie846 behalten5083 zum1519 Tage2250 meines3450 Begräbnisses1780.

8 Denn1063 Arme4434 habt2192 ihr allezeit3842 bei3326 euch1438; mich1691 aber1161 habt2192 ihr nicht3756 allezeit3842.

9 Da3767 erfuhr1097 viel4183 Volks3793 der3739 Juden2453, daß3754 er2076 daselbst1563 war, und2532 kamen2064 nicht3756 um1223 JEsu2424 willen allein3440, sondern235 daß2443 sie1492 auch2532 Lazarus2976 sähen, welchen er von1537 den Toten3498 erweckt hatte1453.

10 Aber1161 die Hohenpriester749 trachteten danach, daß2443 sie1011 auch2532 Lazarus2976 töteten615.

11 Denn3754 um1223 seinetwillen gingen viel4183 Juden2453 hin5217 und846 glaubten4100 an1519 JEsum2424.

12 Des andern Tages1887, viel4183 Volks3793, das aufs1519 Fest1859 kommen2064 war, da es hörete, daß3754 JEsus2424 kommt2064 gen1519 Jerusalem2414,

13 nahmen2983 sie Palmenzweige902 und2532 gingen2064 hinaus1831 ihm entgegen und2532 schrieen2896: Hosianna5614! Gelobet sei2127, der da1722 kommt in1519 dem Namen3686 des846 HErrn2962, ein König935 von Israel2474!

14 JEsus2424 aber1161 überkam ein Eselein3678 und846 ritt2523 darauf, wie2531 denn geschrieben1125 stehet2076:

15 Fürchte5399 dich nicht3361, du Tochter2364 Zion4622; siehe2400, dein4675 König935 kommt2064 reitend2521 auf1909 einem Eselsfüllen3688!

16 Solches5023 aber1161 verstunden seine846 Jünger3101 zuvor nicht3756, sondern235 da3753 JEsus2424 verkläret ward1392, da5119 dachten sie1097 daran3415, daß3754 solches5023 war2532 von1909 ihm846 geschrieben1125, und4412 sie846 solches5023 ihm getan4160 hatten2258.

17 Das5607 Volk3793 aber3753, das mit3326 ihm846 war, da3767 er846 Lazarus2976 aus1537 dem Grabe3419 rief5455 und2532 von1537 den Toten3498 auferweckte1453, rühmete die Tat3140.

18 Darum1223 ging5221 ihm5124 auch2532 das5124 Volk3793 entgegen, da3754 sie846 höreten, er846 hätte solches Zeichen4592 getan4160.

19 Die1438 Pharisäer5330 aber3754 sprachen2036 untereinander: Ihr846 sehet3767, daß4314 ihr nichts3762 ausrichtet5623; siehe2396, alle Welt2889 läuft ihm nach565.

20 Es waren2258 aber1161 etliche5100 Griechen1672 unter1537 denen, die hinaufkommen waren, daß2443 sie anbeteten4352 auf305 das Fest1859.

21 Die traten zu4334 Philippus5376, der3778 von575 Bethsaida966 aus Galiläa1056 war2532, baten2065 ihn846 und3767 sprachen3004: Herr2962, wir wollten2309 JEsum2424 gerne sehen1492.

22 Philippus5376 kommt2064 und2532 sagt‘s3004 Andreas406, und2532 Philippus5376 und2532 Andreas406 sagten‘s3004 weiter3825 JEsu2424.

23 JEsus2424 aber1161 antwortete611 ihnen und sprach3004: Die Zeit5610 ist kommen2064, daß2443 des846 Menschen444 Sohn verkläret werde1392.

24 Wahrlich281, wahrlich281, ich sage3004 euch5213: Es846 sei denn3362, daß das Weizenkorn2848 in1519 die Erde1093 falle4098 und ersterbe599, so1437 bleibt‘s3306 alleine; wo es aber1161 erstirbt, so bringt‘s5342 viel4183 Früchte2590.

25 Wer sein846 Leben5590 liebhat5368, der wird‘s verlieren622; und2532 wer sein846 Leben5590 auf1722 dieser5129 Welt2889 hasset3404, der wird‘s erhalten5442 zum1519 ewigen166 Leben2222.

26 Wer1437 mir1698 dienen1247 will, der folge mir1698 nach190; und2532 wo1437 ich1473 bin1510, da3699 soll mein1698 Diener1249 auch5100 sein2071. Und2532 wer5100 mir1699 dienen1247 wird5091, den846 wird mein Vater3962 ehren5091.

27 Jetzt3568 ist5015 meine See LE5590 betrübet. Und2532 was5101 soll ich3165 sagen2036? Vater3962, hilf4982 mir3450 aus1537 dieser5026 Stunde5610! Doch235 darum1223 bin ich5124 in1519 diese5026 Stunde5610 kommen2064.

28 Vater3962, verkläre1392 deinen4675 Namen3686! Da3767 kam2064 eine Stimme5456 vom1537 Himmel3772: Ich hab‘ ihn verkläret und2532 will ihn abermal verklären.

29 Da3767 sprach3004 das Volk3793, das dabeistund und2532 zuhörete: Es donnerte1096! Die191 andern243 sprachen3004: Es redete2980 ein Engel32 mit ihm846.

30 JEsus2424 antwortete611 und2532 sprach2036: Diese3778 Stimme5456 ist nicht3756 um1223 meinetwillen1691 geschehen1096, sondern235 um1223 euretwillen1223.

31 Jetzt3568 gehet das Gericht2920 über die5127 Welt2889; nun3568 wird1544 der2076 Fürst758 dieser5127 Welt2889 ausgestoßen1544 werden.

32 Und2504 ich, wenn1437 ich erhöhet werde5312 von1537 der Erde1093, so will1670 ich sie alle3956 zu4314 mir1683 ziehen.

33 Das5124 sagte3004 er aber1161, zu deuten4591, welches4169 Todes2288 er sterben599 würde3195.

34 Da antwortete611 ihm das3778 Volk3793: Wir2249 haben gehöret im1537 Gesetz3551, daß3754 Christus5547 ewiglich1519 bleibe3306; und2532 wie4459 sagst3004 du191 denn, des846 Menschen444 Sohn muß1163 erhöhet werden5312? Wer5101 ist2076 dieser Menschensohn?

35 Da3767 sprach2036 JEsus2424 zu2193 ihnen: Es ist2076 das1492 Licht5457 noch2089 eine kleine3398 Zeit5550 bei3326 euch5216. Wandelt4043, dieweil ihr846 das Licht5457 habt2192, daß3363 euch5209 die Finsternisse nicht2532 überfallen. Wer in1722 Finsternis4653 wandelt4043, der weiß nicht3756, wo4226 er hingehet.

36 Glaubet an575 das2443 Licht5457, dieweil ihr‘s4100 habt2192, auf1519 daß2193 ihr846 des2532 Lichtes5457 Kinder seid1096.

37 Solches redete JEsus und1161 ging weg und verbarg sich vor1715 ihnen846. Und ob er846 wohl solche5118 Zeichen4592 vor ihnen tat4160, glaubten4100 sie846 doch nicht3756 an1519 ihn,

38 auf daß2443 erfüllet würde4137 der3739 Spruch3056 des Propheten4396 Jesaja2268, den er sagt2036: HErr2962, wer5101 glaubet4100 unserm2257 Predigen189, und2532 wem5101 ist601 der Arm1023 des HErrn2962 offenbaret?

39 Darum1223 konnten1410 sie nicht3756 glauben4100; denn3754 Jesaja2268 sagt2036 abermal:

40 Er846 hat ihre Augen3788 verblendet5186 und2532 ihr846 Herz2588 verstocket, daß3363 sie1492 mit2532 den Augen3788 nicht3363 sehen1492, noch mit dem Herzen2588 vernehmen3539 und2532 sich bekehren1994, und2532 ich ihnen846 hülfe2390.

41 Solches5023 sagte2036 Jesaja2268, da3753 er846 seine846 Herrlichkeit1391 sah1492 und2532 redete2980 von4012 ihm.

42 Doch3305 der Obersten758 glaubten4100 viel4183 an1537 ihn; aber235 um1223 der Pharisäer5330 willen bekannten3670 sie846 es nicht2532, daß3363 sie nicht3756 in1519 den Bann656 getan würden1096;

43 denn1063 sie hatten25 lieber3123 die Ehre1391 bei den444 Menschen denn die Ehre1391 bei GOtt2316.

44 JEsus2424 aber1161 rief2896 und2532 sprach2036: Wer an1519 mich1691 glaubet4100, der glaubet4100 nicht3756 an1519 mich1691, sondern235 an1519 den, der mich3165 gesandt3992 hat.

45 Und2532 wer mich1691 siehet, der siehet den, der mich3165 gesandt3992 hat.

46 Ich1473 bin3306 kommen2064 in1519 die Welt2889 ein Licht5457, auf daß3363, wer3956 an mich1691 glaubet4100, nicht3363 in Finsternis4653 bleibe3306.

47 Und2532 wer5100 meine3450 Worte4487 höret191 und2532 glaubet4100 nicht3361, den846 werde ich1473 nicht3756 richten2919; denn3362 ich bin nicht3756 kommen2064; daß2443 ich die Welt2889 richte2919, sondern235 daß2443 ich die Welt2889 selig4982 mache.

48 Wer mich1691 verachtet114 und2532 nimmt2983 meine3450 Worte3056 nicht3361 auf, der1565 hat1722 schon, der ihn846 richtet2919: das3739 Wort4487, welches ich2980 geredet habe2192, das wird ihn846 richten2919 am Jüngsten2078 Tage2250.

49 Denn3754 ich1473 habe nicht3756 von1537 mir1683 selber geredet2036, sondern235 der Vater3962, der mich3427 gesandt3992 hat, der hat mir3165 ein Gebot1785 gegeben1325, was5101 ich tun und2532 reden2980 soll.

50 Und2532 ich1473 weiß, daß3754 sein846 Gebot1785 ist2076 das1492 ewige166 Leben2222. Darum3767, was ich2980 rede, das3739 rede ich2980 also3779, wie2531 mir3427 der Vater3962 gegeben hat2046.

Kapitel 12

1 SIX days before the passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.

1 Sechs1803 Tage2250 vor4253 Ostern3957 kam2064 JEsus2424 gen1519 Bethanien963, da3767 Lazarus2976 war2258, der3739 Verstorbene2348, welchen JEsus auferwecket hatte1453 von1537 den3588 Toten3498.

4 And Judas of Iscariot, one of his disciples, who was about to betray him, said,

4 Da3767 sprach3004 seiner1537 Jünger3101 einer, Judas2455, Simons4613 Sohn, Ischariot2469, der1520 ihn846 hernach3195 verriet3860:

5 Why was not this oil sold for three hundred pennies, and given to the poor?

5 Warum1302 ist4097 diese5124 Salbe3464 nicht3756 verkauft4097 um dreihundert5145 Groschen1220 und2532 den Armen4434 gegeben1325?

6 He said this, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and the purse was with him, and he carried whatever was put in it.

6 Das5124 sagte er2532 aber1161 nicht3756, daß3754 er nach4012 den Armen4434 fragte3199, sondern235 er war2258 ein Dieb2812 und3754 hatte2036 den Beutel1101 und2532 trug941, was gegeben ward906.

7 Jesus then said, Leave her alone; she has kept it for the day of my burial.

7 Da3767 sprach2036 JEsus2424: Laß863 sie846 mit Frieden! Solches hat sie846 behalten5083 zum1519 Tage2250 meines3450 Begräbnisses1780.

8 For you have the poor always with you, but me you have not always.

8 Denn1063 Arme4434 habt2192 ihr allezeit3842 bei3326 euch1438; mich1691 aber1161 habt2192 ihr nicht3756 allezeit3842.

9 Many people of the Jews heard that Jesus was there; so they came, not only on account of Jesus, but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead.

9 Da3767 erfuhr1097 viel4183 Volks3793 der3739 Juden2453, daß3754 er2076 daselbst1563 war, und2532 kamen2064 nicht3756 um1223 JEsu2424 willen allein3440, sondern235 daß2443 sie1492 auch2532 Lazarus2976 sähen, welchen er von1537 den Toten3498 erweckt hatte1453.

10 And the high priests were thinking of killing Lazarus also;

10 Aber1161 die Hohenpriester749 trachteten danach, daß2443 sie1011 auch2532 Lazarus2976 töteten615.

11 Because on his account a great many Jews were leaving and believing in Jesus.

11 Denn3754 um1223 seinetwillen gingen viel4183 Juden2453 hin5217 und846 glaubten4100 an1519 JEsum2424.

12 On the next day, a large crowd which had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

12 Des andern Tages1887, viel4183 Volks3793, das aufs1519 Fest1859 kommen2064 war, da es hörete, daß3754 JEsus2424 kommt2064 gen1519 Jerusalem2414,

13 Took branches of palm trees, and went out to greet him, and they cried out and said, Hosanna, Blessed is the king of Israel who comes in the name of the Lord.

13 nahmen2983 sie Palmenzweige902 und2532 gingen2064 hinaus1831 ihm entgegen und2532 schrieen2896: Hosianna5614! Gelobet sei2127, der da1722 kommt in1519 dem Namen3686 des846 HErrn2962, ein König935 von Israel2474!

14 And Jesus found an ass and sat on it; as it is written,

14 JEsus2424 aber1161 überkam ein Eselein3678 und846 ritt2523 darauf, wie2531 denn geschrieben1125 stehet2076:

15 Fear not, O daughter of Zion; behold, your king cometh to you, riding on the colt of an ass.

15 Fürchte5399 dich nicht3361, du Tochter2364 Zion4622; siehe2400, dein4675 König935 kommt2064 reitend2521 auf1909 einem Eselsfüllen3688!

16 His disciples did not understand these things at that time; but when Jesus was glorified, then his disciples remembered that these things were written concerning him, and that they had done these things to him.

16 Solches5023 aber1161 verstunden seine846 Jünger3101 zuvor nicht3756, sondern235 da3753 JEsus2424 verkläret ward1392, da5119 dachten sie1097 daran3415, daß3754 solches5023 war2532 von1909 ihm846 geschrieben1125, und4412 sie846 solches5023 ihm getan4160 hatten2258.

17 The people who were with him testified that he had called Lazarus from the tomb, and raised him from the dead.

17 Das5607 Volk3793 aber3753, das mit3326 ihm846 war, da3767 er846 Lazarus2976 aus1537 dem Grabe3419 rief5455 und2532 von1537 den Toten3498 auferweckte1453, rühmete die Tat3140.

18 It was on this account that large crowds went out to meet him, for they heard that he had performed this miracle.

18 Darum1223 ging5221 ihm5124 auch2532 das5124 Volk3793 entgegen, da3754 sie846 höreten, er846 hätte solches Zeichen4592 getan4160.

19 The Pharisees said one to another, Do you see that you have not been able to gain anything? Behold, all the people have gone after him.

19 Die1438 Pharisäer5330 aber3754 sprachen2036 untereinander: Ihr846 sehet3767, daß4314 ihr nichts3762 ausrichtet5623; siehe2396, alle Welt2889 läuft ihm nach565.

20 Now there were some Gentiles * among them who had come up to worship at the feast.

20 Es waren2258 aber1161 etliche5100 Griechen1672 unter1537 denen, die hinaufkommen waren, daß2443 sie anbeteten4352 auf305 das Fest1859.

21 They came and approached Philip of Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, My lord, we would like to see Jesus.

21 Die traten zu4334 Philippus5376, der3778 von575 Bethsaida966 aus Galiläa1056 war2532, baten2065 ihn846 und3767 sprachen3004: Herr2962, wir wollten2309 JEsum2424 gerne sehen1492.

22 Philip came and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip told Jesus.

22 Philippus5376 kommt2064 und2532 sagt‘s3004 Andreas406, und2532 Philippus5376 und2532 Andreas406 sagten‘s3004 weiter3825 JEsu2424.

23 Jesus answered and said to them, The hour has come that the Son of man should be glorified.

23 JEsus2424 aber1161 antwortete611 ihnen und sprach3004: Die Zeit5610 ist kommen2064, daß2443 des846 Menschen444 Sohn verkläret werde1392.

24 Truly, truly, I say to you, that unless a grain of wheat falls and dies in the ground, it will be left alone; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.

24 Wahrlich281, wahrlich281, ich sage3004 euch5213: Es846 sei denn3362, daß das Weizenkorn2848 in1519 die Erde1093 falle4098 und ersterbe599, so1437 bleibt‘s3306 alleine; wo es aber1161 erstirbt, so bringt‘s5342 viel4183 Früchte2590.

25 He who loves his life will lose it; and he who has no concern for his life in this world will keep it unto life eternal.

25 Wer sein846 Leben5590 liebhat5368, der wird‘s verlieren622; und2532 wer sein846 Leben5590 auf1722 dieser5129 Welt2889 hasset3404, der wird‘s erhalten5442 zum1519 ewigen166 Leben2222.

26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also will my servant be; he who serves me, him my Father will honor.

26 Wer1437 mir1698 dienen1247 will, der folge mir1698 nach190; und2532 wo1437 ich1473 bin1510, da3699 soll mein1698 Diener1249 auch5100 sein2071. Und2532 wer5100 mir1699 dienen1247 wird5091, den846 wird mein Vater3962 ehren5091.

27 Now my soul is disturbed, and what shall I say? O my Father, deliver me from this hour; but for this cause I came to this very hour.

27 Jetzt3568 ist5015 meine See LE5590 betrübet. Und2532 was5101 soll ich3165 sagen2036? Vater3962, hilf4982 mir3450 aus1537 dieser5026 Stunde5610! Doch235 darum1223 bin ich5124 in1519 diese5026 Stunde5610 kommen2064.

28 O Father, glorify your name. Then a voice was heard from heaven, I am glorified, and I shall again be glorified.

28 Vater3962, verkläre1392 deinen4675 Namen3686! Da3767 kam2064 eine Stimme5456 vom1537 Himmel3772: Ich hab‘ ihn verkläret und2532 will ihn abermal verklären.

29 And the people who stood by heard it, and said, It was thunder; others said, An angel spoke to him.

29 Da3767 sprach3004 das Volk3793, das dabeistund und2532 zuhörete: Es donnerte1096! Die191 andern243 sprachen3004: Es redete2980 ein Engel32 mit ihm846.

30 Jesus answered and said to them, This voice was not on my account, but for your sake.

30 JEsus2424 antwortete611 und2532 sprach2036: Diese3778 Stimme5456 ist nicht3756 um1223 meinetwillen1691 geschehen1096, sondern235 um1223 euretwillen1223.

31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the leader of this world will be cast out.

31 Jetzt3568 gehet das Gericht2920 über die5127 Welt2889; nun3568 wird1544 der2076 Fürst758 dieser5127 Welt2889 ausgestoßen1544 werden.

32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw every man to me.

32 Und2504 ich, wenn1437 ich erhöhet werde5312 von1537 der Erde1093, so will1670 ich sie alle3956 zu4314 mir1683 ziehen.

33 He said this, to show by what kind of death he was to die.

33 Das5124 sagte3004 er aber1161, zu deuten4591, welches4169 Todes2288 er sterben599 würde3195.

34 The people said to him, We have heard from the law that the Christ shall remain forever; how do you say that the Son of man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of man?

34 Da antwortete611 ihm das3778 Volk3793: Wir2249 haben gehöret im1537 Gesetz3551, daß3754 Christus5547 ewiglich1519 bleibe3306; und2532 wie4459 sagst3004 du191 denn, des846 Menschen444 Sohn muß1163 erhöhet werden5312? Wer5101 ist2076 dieser Menschensohn?

35 Jesus said to them, The light is with you for a little while; walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overcome you; and he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes.

35 Da3767 sprach2036 JEsus2424 zu2193 ihnen: Es ist2076 das1492 Licht5457 noch2089 eine kleine3398 Zeit5550 bei3326 euch5216. Wandelt4043, dieweil ihr846 das Licht5457 habt2192, daß3363 euch5209 die Finsternisse nicht2532 überfallen. Wer in1722 Finsternis4653 wandelt4043, der weiß nicht3756, wo4226 er hingehet.

36 While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become the sons of the light. Jesus spoke these things, and went away and hid himself from them.

36 Glaubet an575 das2443 Licht5457, dieweil ihr‘s4100 habt2192, auf1519 daß2193 ihr846 des2532 Lichtes5457 Kinder seid1096.

37 Even though he had performed all of these miracles before them, yet they did not believe in him;

37 Solches redete JEsus und1161 ging weg und verbarg sich vor1715 ihnen846. Und ob er846 wohl solche5118 Zeichen4592 vor ihnen tat4160, glaubten4100 sie846 doch nicht3756 an1519 ihn,

38 So that the word of the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled, who said, My Lord, who will believe our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

38 auf daß2443 erfüllet würde4137 der3739 Spruch3056 des Propheten4396 Jesaja2268, den er sagt2036: HErr2962, wer5101 glaubet4100 unserm2257 Predigen189, und2532 wem5101 ist601 der Arm1023 des HErrn2962 offenbaret?

39 For this reason, they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,

39 Darum1223 konnten1410 sie nicht3756 glauben4100; denn3754 Jesaja2268 sagt2036 abermal:

40 Their eyes have become blind and their heart darkened, so that they cannot see with their eyes and understand with their heart; let them return and I will heal them.

40 Er846 hat ihre Augen3788 verblendet5186 und2532 ihr846 Herz2588 verstocket, daß3363 sie1492 mit2532 den Augen3788 nicht3363 sehen1492, noch mit dem Herzen2588 vernehmen3539 und2532 sich bekehren1994, und2532 ich ihnen846 hülfe2390.

41 Isaiah said these things, when he saw his glory and spoke concerning him.

41 Solches5023 sagte2036 Jesaja2268, da3753 er846 seine846 Herrlichkeit1391 sah1492 und2532 redete2980 von4012 ihm.

42 Many of the leading men also believed in him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they might not be cast out of the synagogue.

42 Doch3305 der Obersten758 glaubten4100 viel4183 an1537 ihn; aber235 um1223 der Pharisäer5330 willen bekannten3670 sie846 es nicht2532, daß3363 sie nicht3756 in1519 den Bann656 getan würden1096;

43 For they loved the honor of men more than the glory of God.

43 denn1063 sie hatten25 lieber3123 die Ehre1391 bei den444 Menschen denn die Ehre1391 bei GOtt2316.

44 Jesus cried out and said, He who believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me.

44 JEsus2424 aber1161 rief2896 und2532 sprach2036: Wer an1519 mich1691 glaubet4100, der glaubet4100 nicht3756 an1519 mich1691, sondern235 an1519 den, der mich3165 gesandt3992 hat.

45 And he who sees me, has already seen him who sent me.

45 Und2532 wer mich1691 siehet, der siehet den, der mich3165 gesandt3992 hat.

46 I have come into the world as the light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.

46 Ich1473 bin3306 kommen2064 in1519 die Welt2889 ein Licht5457, auf daß3363, wer3956 an mich1691 glaubet4100, nicht3363 in Finsternis4653 bleibe3306.

47 And he who hears my words, and does not obey them, I will not judge him; for I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

47 Und2532 wer5100 meine3450 Worte4487 höret191 und2532 glaubet4100 nicht3361, den846 werde ich1473 nicht3756 richten2919; denn3362 ich bin nicht3756 kommen2064; daß2443 ich die Welt2889 richte2919, sondern235 daß2443 ich die Welt2889 selig4982 mache.

48 He who oppresses me and does not receive my words, there is one who will judge him; the word which I have spoken, it will judge him at the last day.

48 Wer mich1691 verachtet114 und2532 nimmt2983 meine3450 Worte3056 nicht3361 auf, der1565 hat1722 schon, der ihn846 richtet2919: das3739 Wort4487, welches ich2980 geredet habe2192, das wird ihn846 richten2919 am Jüngsten2078 Tage2250.

49 For I did not speak of myself; but the Father who sent me, he commanded me what to say and what to speak.

49 Denn3754 ich1473 habe nicht3756 von1537 mir1683 selber geredet2036, sondern235 der Vater3962, der mich3427 gesandt3992 hat, der hat mir3165 ein Gebot1785 gegeben1325, was5101 ich tun und2532 reden2980 soll.

50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting; these things therefore which I speak, just as my Father told me, so I speak.

50 Und2532 ich1473 weiß, daß3754 sein846 Gebot1785 ist2076 das1492 ewige166 Leben2222. Darum3767, was ich2980 rede, das3739 rede ich2980 also3779, wie2531 mir3427 der Vater3962 gegeben hat2046.
