馬太福音

第20章

1 「因為天國好像家主清早去雇人進他的葡萄園作工。

2 他［he］和工人講定一天一個錢［a penny］，就打發他們進他［his］葡萄園去。

3 約在巳初出去，他［he］看見市上還有閒站的人，

4 就對他們說：『你們也進葡萄園去，所當給的，我必給你們。』他們也進去了。

5 約在午正和申初又出去，也是這樣行。

6 約在酉初出去，他［he］看見還有人閒［idle］站在那裏，就問他們說：『你們為甚麼整天在這裏閒站呢？』

7 他們對他［unto him］說：『因為沒有人雇我們。』他告訴他們［saith unto them］：『你們也進葡萄園去；所當給的［whatsoever isright］，你們必要得著［that shall ye receive］。』

8 到了晚上，園主對管事的說：『叫工人都來，給他們工錢，從後來的起，到先來的為止。』

9 約在酉初雇的人來了，他們［they］各人得了一個錢［a penny］。

10 及至那先雇的來了，他們以為必要多得；誰知也是各得一錢。

11 他們得了，就埋怨家主，

12 說［Saying］：『我們整天勞苦受熱，這後來的［These last］只做了一小時，你竟叫他們和我們一樣。』

13 家主回答其中的一人說：『朋友，我不虧負你；你與我講定的不是一個錢［a penny］嗎？

14 拿你的走吧。我給那後來的和給你一樣，這是我願意的。

15 我的東西難道不可隨我的意思用嗎？因為我作好人，你就惡了眼［eye evil］嗎？』

16 這樣，那在後的將要在前，在前的將要在後了。因為被召的雖多［for many be called］，選上的卻少［but few chosen］。」

17 耶穌上耶路撒冷去［to Jerusalem］，在路上把十二個門徒帶到一邊，對他們說：

18 「看哪，我們上耶路撒冷去；人子要被賣［betrayed］給祭司長和文士。他們要定他死罪，

19 又交給外邦人，將他戲弄，鞭打，釘在十字架上。第三天他要復活。」

20 那時，西庇太兒子的母親，同她兩個兒子上前來，敬拜［worshipping］耶穌，求他一件事。

21 耶穌對她［unto her］說：「妳要甚麼呢？」她對耶穌［unto him］說：「願你賜［Grant］我這兩個兒子在你國裏，一個坐在你右邊，一個坐在你左邊。」

22 耶穌卻［But］回答說：「你們不知道所求的是甚麼。我將要喝的杯，你們能喝麼？我所受的浸［the baptism that I am baptized with］，你們能受麼［to be baptized with］？」他們說：「我們能。」

23 耶穌對他們［unto them］說：「我所喝的杯，你們必要喝；我所受的浸，你們必要受［be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with］；只是坐在我的左右，不是我可以賜的，乃是我父為誰預備的，就賜給誰。」

24 那十個門徒聽見，就惱怒他們弟兄二人。

25 耶穌卻［But］叫了他們來，說：「你們知道外邦人有君王治理［exercise dominion over］他們，尊大的［they that are great］操權管束他們。

26 只是在你們中間，不可這樣。你們中間誰願為大，就必作伺侯你們的［minister］；

27 誰願為首，就必作你們的僕人。

28 正如人子來，不是要受人的服事，乃是要服事人，並且要捨命，作多人的贖價。」

29 他們出耶利哥的時候，有極多的人跟隨他。

30 恰巧［behold］有兩個瞎子坐在路旁，聽說是耶穌經過，就喊著說：「主啊，大衛的子孫，可憐我們吧。」

31 眾人責備他們，因為［because］不許他們作聲；他們卻越發喊著說：「主啊，大衛的子孫，可憐我們吧。」

32 耶穌就站住，叫他們來，說：「你們［ye］要我為你們作甚麼？」

33 他們對耶穌［unto him］說：「主啊，要我們的眼睛能看見。」

34 耶穌就憐憫他們［had compassion on them］，把他們的眼睛一摸；他們立刻看見，就跟從了耶穌。

Chapter 20

1 FOR the kingdom of heaven is like a man, who is a householder, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

2 He bargained with the laborers for a penny a day, and sent them to his vineyard.

3 And he went out at the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the market place.

4 And he said to them, You also go to the vineyard, and I will give you what is right. And they went.

5 And he went out again at the sixth and at the ninth hour, and did the same.

6 And towards the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and he said to them, Why do you stand all day idle?

7 They said to him, Because no man has hired us. He said to them, You also go to the vineyard, and you will receive what is right.

8 When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, Call the laborers and pay them their wages; and begin from the last ones to the first.

9 When those of the eleventh hour came, they each received a penny.

10 But when the first ones came, they expected to receive more; but they also got each one a penny.

11 And when they received it, they murmured against the householder,

12 Saying, These last ones have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal with us who have borne the weight of the day and its heat.

13 He answered and said to one of them, My friend, I am not doing you an injustice; did you not bargain with me for a penny?

14 Take what is yours and go away; I wish to give to this last one the same as to you.

15 Have I no right to do what I wish with mine own? Or are you jealous because I am generous?

16 Even so the last shall be first, and the first last; for many are called, but few are chosen.

17 Now Jesus was ready to go up to Jerusalem; and he took his twelve disciples apart on the road, and he said to them,

18 Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be delivered to the high priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death.

19 And they will deliver him to the Gentiles and they will mock him, and scourge him, and crucify him; and on the third day he will rise up.

20 Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came up to him, together with her sons; and she worshipped him, and requested something of him.

21 He said to her, What do you wish? She said to him, Command that these two sons of mine sit, one at your right and one at your left, in your kingdom.

22 Jesus answered and said, You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I am ready to drink, or be baptized with the baptism with which I am to be baptized? They said to him, We can.

23 He said to them, Indeed my cup you shall drink, and the baptism with which I am to be baptized, you too shall be baptized with; but to sit at my right hand and at my left, that is not mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by my Father.

24 When the ten heard it, they were angry at the two brothers.

25 And Jesus called them and said, You know that the princes of the people are also their owners; and their officials rule over them.

26 Let not this be so among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you, let him be a minister to you;

27 And whoever wishes to be first among you, let him be a servant to you;

28 Just as the Son of man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life as a salvation for the sake of many.

29 And when Jesus went out of Jericho a large crowd followed him.

30 And behold, two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried aloud, saying, Have mercy upon us, O Lord, son of David.

31 But the people rebuked them to keep quiet; but they cried louder, saying, Our Lord, have mercy upon us, son of David.

32 And Jesus stopped and called them, and he said, What do you wish me to do for you?

33 They said to him, Our Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

34 And Jesus had mercy upon them, so he touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes were opened, and they followed him.

6 約在酉初出去，他［he］看見還有人閒［idle］站在那裏，就問他們說：『你們為甚麼整天在這裏閒站呢？』	6 And towards the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and he said to them, Why do you stand all day idle?
7 他們對他［unto him］說：『因為沒有人雇我們。』他告訴他們［saith unto them］：『你們也進葡萄園去；所當給的［whatsoever isright］，你們必要得著［that shall ye receive］。』	7 They said to him, Because no man has hired us. He said to them, You also go to the vineyard, and you will receive what is right.

12 說［Saying］：『我們整天勞苦受熱，這後來的［These last］只做了一小時，你竟叫他們和我們一樣。』	12 Saying, These last ones have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal with us who have borne the weight of the day and its heat.

17 耶穌上耶路撒冷去［to Jerusalem］，在路上把十二個門徒帶到一邊，對他們說：	17 Now Jesus was ready to go up to Jerusalem; and he took his twelve disciples apart on the road, and he said to them,
18 「看哪，我們上耶路撒冷去；人子要被賣［betrayed］給祭司長和文士。他們要定他死罪，	18 Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be delivered to the high priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death.
19 又交給外邦人，將他戲弄，鞭打，釘在十字架上。第三天他要復活。」	19 And they will deliver him to the Gentiles and they will mock him, and scourge him, and crucify him; and on the third day he will rise up.
20 那時，西庇太兒子的母親，同她兩個兒子上前來，敬拜［worshipping］耶穌，求他一件事。	20 Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came up to him, together with her sons; and she worshipped him, and requested something of him.
21 耶穌對她［unto her］說：「妳要甚麼呢？」她對耶穌［unto him］說：「願你賜［Grant］我這兩個兒子在你國裏，一個坐在你右邊，一個坐在你左邊。」	21 He said to her, What do you wish? She said to him, Command that these two sons of mine sit, one at your right and one at your left, in your kingdom.
22 耶穌卻［But］回答說：「你們不知道所求的是甚麼。我將要喝的杯，你們能喝麼？我所受的浸［the baptism that I am baptized with］，你們能受麼［to be baptized with］？」他們說：「我們能。」	22 Jesus answered and said, You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I am ready to drink, or be baptized with the baptism with which I am to be baptized? They said to him, We can.
23 耶穌對他們［unto them］說：「我所喝的杯，你們必要喝；我所受的浸，你們必要受［be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with］；只是坐在我的左右，不是我可以賜的，乃是我父為誰預備的，就賜給誰。」	23 He said to them, Indeed my cup you shall drink, and the baptism with which I am to be baptized, you too shall be baptized with; but to sit at my right hand and at my left, that is not mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by my Father.

30 恰巧［behold］有兩個瞎子坐在路旁，聽說是耶穌經過，就喊著說：「主啊，大衛的子孫，可憐我們吧。」	30 And behold, two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried aloud, saying, Have mercy upon us, O Lord, son of David.
31 眾人責備他們，因為［because］不許他們作聲；他們卻越發喊著說：「主啊，大衛的子孫，可憐我們吧。」	31 But the people rebuked them to keep quiet; but they cried louder, saying, Our Lord, have mercy upon us, son of David.
