Книга Иова

Глава 38

1 И ответил ГОСПОДЬ Иову из бури и сказал:

2 «Кто это омрачает Мой промысел речами безрассудными?

3 Опояшься, как муж, приготовься; Я буду спрашивать тебя, а ты вразуми Меня!

4 Где был ты, когда основания земли Я полагал? Скажи, коли ведаешь.

5 Кто размеры ее определил? Ты ведь знаешь! Или мерный шнур над нею кто протянул?

6 На чем покоятся ее устои, кто заложил ее краеугольный камень,

7 когда хор утренних звезд ликовал и все сыны Божьи радостно восклицали?

8 Кто запер море вратами, когда вырывалось оно из утробы,

9 когда Я облек его в тучи, в туман густой запеленал?

10 Я воздвиг границы для него, засовы наложил, врата поставил

11 и сказал: „Лишь до этого предела дойдешь, но не далее, здесь твои гордые волны уймутся“.

12 Повелевал ли ты когда-либо в жизни своей утру, указывал ли заре ее место,

13 чтобы она землю взяла за края и скинула с нее нечестивцев,

14 чтобы земля преобразилась, как глина под печатью, словно одеянье, окрасилась,

15 чтобы отнят был у нечестивцев свет их и рука занесенная сломалась?

16 Достигал ли ты истоков моря? Проникал ли в глубины бездны?

17 Открывались ли пред тобою ворота смерти? И врата мрака видел ли ты?

18 Ведома ли тебе вся ширь земная? Поведай, коли знаешь что об этом!

19 Где путь к чертогам света и тьма где обитает?

20 Или можешь ее вернуть в ее пределы и дорогу к дому ее знаешь?

21 Конечно же, знаешь! Ведь ты тогда родился, и несть числа дням твоим…

22 А входил ли ты в хранилища снега и видел ли хранилища града,

23 что припас Я для грядущих дней бедствия, на время войны и битвы?

24 По каким путям разбегается свет и восточный вихрь над землей разносится?

25 Кто русла прорубил для ливня, проложил путь для грозовых облаков,

26 чтобы оросить необитаемую землю, пустошь безлюдную,

27 чтобы напоить пустынную пустыню, чтобы пробилась свежая зелень?

28 Есть ли отец у дождя и кто рождает капли росы?

29 Из чьей утробы выходит лед, и иней небес кто порождает?

30 Тогда камнем становится вода, замерзая, и застывает поверхность бездны.

31 Можешь ли ты завязать узел Плеяд, ослабить путы Ориона?

32 Выведешь ли в свой срок созвездия, поведешь ли Большую Медведицу с ее детенышами?

33 Разве знаешь ты законы неба, разве ты утвердил его власть над землею?

34 Можешь ли ты так громко возгласить к облаку, чтобы хлынул на тебя поток воды?

35 Или ты посылаешь молнии, и они послушно бегут, говорят тебе: „Мы здесь“?

36 Кто мудрость вложил в сердце, разуму дал понимание?

37 Кто мудростью своей тучам счет ведет и сосуды небесные кто опустошает?

38 Тогда пыль течет жидкой грязью и слипаются комья земли.

39 Или ты львице даешь добычу, чтобы львята голод утолили,

40 когда в укрытии они притаились, в зарослях сидят в засаде?

41 Кто ворону еду посылает, когда птенцы его взывают ко Мне и мечутся без еды?

Chapter 38

1 THEN the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

2 Who is this that gives counsel by words without knowledge?

3 Gird up your loins now, like a valiant man; for I will question you, and you shall answer me.

4 Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.

5 Who has laid its measures, if you know? Or who has stretched the line upon it?

6 Upon what are its limits resting? Or who laid the cornerstone thereof?

7 When did I create the morning stars, and all the angels shouted for joy?

8 Or who shut up the sea with gates, when it broke forth as if it had issued out of the womb?

9 When I made the cloud the garment of the earth, and thick darkness a swaddling hand for it,

10 And prescribed limits for it, and set bars and doors,

11 And said, Thus far shall you come, but no farther; and here shall your proud waves be stayed?

12 Have you commanded the dawn since your days began; or do you know the place of the morning;

13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be thrown out of it?

14 So that their bodies shall be turned into clay, and be thrown into a heap.

15 The light of sinners shall be withheld, and the arm of the arrogant shall be broken.

16 Have you entered into the depths of the sea? Or have you walked in the foundations of the deep?

17 Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?

18 Have you seen the whole breadth of the earth? Declare to me if you know it all.

19 Where is the dwelling place of light, and where is the place of darkness?

20 Do you know its borders and the path to its house?

21 Do you remember when you were born, and do you know if you will live many days?

22 Have you entered into the chambers of the snow? Or have you seen the storehouses of hail,

23 Which are reserved against the time of distress, against the day of battle and war?

24 Or in what manner is light distributed, and whence the wind comes forth upon the earth?

25 Who causes a flash of lightning and a clap of thunder?

26 Who causes it to rain on a land where no man is, in the wilderness where there is no inhabitant,

27 To saturate every thicket, and cause the tender grass to spring up?

28 Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew?

29 Out of whose womb did the dew and ice come forth? And who begot the hoary frost of heaven?

30 The waters are hardened like a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

31 Can you stop the movement of the Pleiades, or have you seen the path of Orion?

32 Can you bring forth Mazzaroth in its season? Or can you stand in the paths of Aldebaran?

33 Do you know the laws of the heavens? Or do you make ordinances for the earth?

34 Can you lift up your voice to the clouds? Or can you cover them with abundance of waters?

35 Can you send forth the lightnings, that they may go, and say to you. Here we are?

36 Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given vision to understanding?

37 Who has numbered the clouds by his wisdom? And who has raised the pillars of heaven?

38 Who has poured out soil upon the earth, and who has made the steep rocks?

39 Who has given prey for the lion? Or filled the appetite of the young lions?

40 Who has multiplied the beasts in the field? Or who has provided food for the raven?

41 For its young ones cry to God, and faint for lack of food.

3 Опояшься, как муж, приготовься; Я буду спрашивать тебя, а ты вразуми Меня!	3 Gird up your loins now, like a valiant man; for I will question you, and you shall answer me.
4 Где был ты, когда основания земли Я полагал? Скажи, коли ведаешь.	4 Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.
5 Кто размеры ее определил? Ты ведь знаешь! Или мерный шнур над нею кто протянул?	5 Who has laid its measures, if you know? Or who has stretched the line upon it?
6 На чем покоятся ее устои, кто заложил ее краеугольный камень,	6 Upon what are its limits resting? Or who laid the cornerstone thereof?
7 когда хор утренних звезд ликовал и все сыны Божьи радостно восклицали?	7 When did I create the morning stars, and all the angels shouted for joy?
8 Кто запер море вратами, когда вырывалось оно из утробы,	8 Or who shut up the sea with gates, when it broke forth as if it had issued out of the womb?
9 когда Я облек его в тучи, в туман густой запеленал?	9 When I made the cloud the garment of the earth, and thick darkness a swaddling hand for it,
10 Я воздвиг границы для него, засовы наложил, врата поставил	10 And prescribed limits for it, and set bars and doors,
11 и сказал: „Лишь до этого предела дойдешь, но не далее, здесь твои гордые волны уймутся“.	11 And said, Thus far shall you come, but no farther; and here shall your proud waves be stayed?
12 Повелевал ли ты когда-либо в жизни своей утру, указывал ли заре ее место,	12 Have you commanded the dawn since your days began; or do you know the place of the morning;
13 чтобы она землю взяла за края и скинула с нее нечестивцев,	13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be thrown out of it?
14 чтобы земля преобразилась, как глина под печатью, словно одеянье, окрасилась,	14 So that their bodies shall be turned into clay, and be thrown into a heap.
15 чтобы отнят был у нечестивцев свет их и рука занесенная сломалась?	15 The light of sinners shall be withheld, and the arm of the arrogant shall be broken.

21 Конечно же, знаешь! Ведь ты тогда родился, и несть числа дням твоим…	21 Do you remember when you were born, and do you know if you will live many days?
22 А входил ли ты в хранилища снега и видел ли хранилища града,	22 Have you entered into the chambers of the snow? Or have you seen the storehouses of hail,
23 что припас Я для грядущих дней бедствия, на время войны и битвы?	23 Which are reserved against the time of distress, against the day of battle and war?

26 чтобы оросить необитаемую землю, пустошь безлюдную,	26 Who causes it to rain on a land where no man is, in the wilderness where there is no inhabitant,
27 чтобы напоить пустынную пустыню, чтобы пробилась свежая зелень?	27 To saturate every thicket, and cause the tender grass to spring up?

31 Можешь ли ты завязать узел Плеяд, ослабить путы Ориона?	31 Can you stop the movement of the Pleiades, or have you seen the path of Orion?
