Chapter 13

1 NOW there were in the church at An'ti-och prophets and teachers; Bar'na-bas, and Simeon who was called Ni'ger, and Lu'cius from the city of Cy-rene, and Man'a-el, * who was the son of the man who brought up Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 As they fasted and prayed to God, the Holy Spirit said to them, Appoint for me Saul and Bar'na-bas for the work to which I have called them.

3 So, after they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 Thus these two were sent forth by the Holy Spirit, and went down to Se-leu'ci-a; and from there they sailed to Cy'prus.

5 And when they had entered the city of Sal'a-mis, they preached the word of our LORD in the synagogues of the Jews: and John ministered unto them.

6 And when they had traveled the whole island as far as the city of Pa'phos, they found a Jewish sorcerer, who was a false prophet and whose name was Bar-Shu'ma:

7 Who was very close friend to a wise man, the proconsul whose name was Ser'gi-us Pau'lus, who called for Saul and Bar'na-bas, and desired to hear from them the word of God.

8 But Bar-Shu'ma the sorcerer (whose name is interpreted Elymas) withstood them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith.

9 Then Saul, who is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked at him,

10 And said, O man full of every kind of subtlety and of all evil things, you son of the devil and enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the LORD?

11 And now the hand of the LORD is against you, and you shall be blind, and shall not see the sun for a time. And in that very hour there fell on him a mist and darkness; and he went about seeking some one to lead him by the hand.

12 And when the proconsul saw what had happened, he was amazed, and believed the teaching of the LORD.

13 Then Paul and Bar'na-bas sailed from the city of Pa'phos, and came to Per'ga, a city in Pam-phyl'i-a: and John separated from them and went to Jerusalem.

14 But they left Per'ga and came to An'tioch, a city in Pi-sid'i-a, and on the Sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat down.

15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the elders of the synagogue sent to them, saying, O men and brethren, if you have a word of encouragement for the people, speak.

16 So Paul stood up, and lifting his hands said, O men of Israel, and those of you who fear God, hear my words:

17 The God of this people of Is'ra-el chose our forefathers, and exalted and multiplied them when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with a strong arm he brought them out of it.

18 And he fed them in the wilderness for forty years.

19 And he destroyed seven nations in the land of Ca'naan, and he gave them their land for an inheritance.

20 And for a period of four hundred and fifty years he gave them judges until the time of the prophet Samuel.

21 Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for a period of forty years.

22 And when in time God took Saul away he raised up to them David to be their king; concerning whom he testified and said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, to do my will.

23 Of this man's seed God has, according to his promise, raised to Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

24 Before whose coming, he had sent John to preach the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

25 And as John fulfilled his ministry, he said, Whom do you think I am? I am not he. But behold there comes one after me the strings of whose shoes I am not worthy to untie.

26 O men and brethren, descendants of the family of Abraham, and whosoever among you fears God, to you is the word of salvation sent.

27 For in as much as the inhabitants of Jerusalem and their leaders did not understand him nor the en_lbp_books of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they condemned him; but all the things which were written have been fulfilled.

28 And though they found no cause for his death, they asked Pilate that they might kill him.

29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they lowered him from the cross and laid him in a sepulchre.

30 But God raised him from the dead;

31 And for many days he was seen by them who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and they are now his witnesses to the people.

32 And behold we also preach to you that that very promise which was made to our fathers,

33 Behold God has fulfilled it unto us their children, for he has raised up Jesus, just as it is written in the second psalm, You are my son, this day I have begotten you.

34 And God raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, as he said, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

35 And again he said in another place, You shall not suffer your Holy One to see corruption.

36 For David, after he had served his own generation with the will of God, passed away; though he was a greater man than his fathers, yet he saw corruption.

37 But he whom God raised did not see corruption.

38 Be it known to you, therefore, brethren, that through this very one is preached to you the forgiveness of sins:

39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

40 Beware, therefore, lest that which is written in the prophets may come upon you.

41 Be careful, O you despisers, for you shall wonder and perish: for I will do a great work in your day which you will not believe even if a man tell it to you.

42 And as Paul and Bar'na-bas were leaving them, the people besought them to speak these things to them the next sabbath.

43 Now when the congregation was dismissed, a great many Jews, and also proselytes who feared God, followed Paul and Bar'na-bas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

44 And the next sabbath day the whole city gathered to hear the word of God.

45 But when the Jews saw the great crowd, they were filled with envy, and they bitterly opposed the words of Paul, and they blasphemed.

46 Then Paul and Bar'na-bas said to them boldly, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: but because you reject it, you have decided against yourselves and you are unworthy of everlasting life, so behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

47 For so has our Lord commanded us, as it is written, I have set you to be a light to the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified God; and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all that region.

50 But the Jews stirred up the chief men of the city and the rich women who worshipped God with them, so that they stirred up a persecution against Paul and Bar'na-bas, and expelled them beyond their borders.

51 And as they went out, they shook off the dust of their feet upon them, and they came to the city of I-co'ni-um.

52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Spirit.

Chapter 13

1 Now1161 there were in the church1577 that was at1722 Antioch490 certain5100 prophets4396 and teachers;1320 as Barnabas,921 and Simeon4826 that was called2564 Niger,3526 and Lucius3066 of Cyrene,2957 and Manaen,3127 which had been brought4939 up with Herod2264 the tetrarch,5076 and Saul.4569

2 As they ministered3008 to the Lord,2962 and fasted,3522 the Holy40 Ghost4151 said,2036 Separate873 me Barnabas921 and Saul4569 for the work2041 whereunto3739 I have called4341 them.

3 And when they had fasted3522 and prayed,4336 and laid2007 their hands5495 on2007 them, they sent630 them away.630

4 So3767 they, being sent1599 forth1599 by the Holy40 Ghost,4151 departed2718 to Seleucia;4581 and from there1564 they sailed636 to Cyprus.2954

5 And when they were at1722 Salamis,4529 they preached2605 the word3056 of God2316 in the synagogues4864 of the Jews:2453 and they had2192 also2532 John2491 to their minister.5257

6 And when they had gone1330 through1330 the isle3520 to Paphos,3974 they found2147 a certain5100 sorcerer,3097 a false5578 prophet,5578 a Jew,2453 whose3739 name3686 was Barjesus:919

7 Which3739 was with the deputy446 of the country, Sergius4588 Paulus,3972 a prudent4908 man;435 who3778 called4341 for Barnabas921 and Saul,4569 and desired1934 to hear191 the word3056 of God.2316

8 But Elymas1681 the sorcerer3097 (for so3779 is his name3686 by interpretation)3177 withstood436 them, seeking2212 to turn1294 away1294 the deputy446 from the faith.4102

9 Then1161 Saul,4569 (who3739 also2532 is called4341 Paul,3972) filled4130 with the Holy40 Ghost,4151 set816 his eyes on1519 him.

10 And said,2036 O full4134 of all3956 subtlety1388 and all3956 mischief,4468 you child5207 of the devil,1228 you enemy2190 of all3956 righteousness,1343 will you not cease3973 to pervert1294 the right2117 ways3598 of the Lord?2962

11 And now,3568 behold,2400 the hand5495 of the Lord2962 is on you, and you shall be blind,5185 not seeing991 the sun2246 for a season.2540 And immediately3916 there fell1968 on1909 him a mist887 and a darkness;4655 and he went4013 about4013 seeking2212 some to lead5497 him by the hand.5497

12 Then5119 the deputy,446 when he saw1492 what3588 was done,1096 believed,4100 being astonished1605 at1909 the doctrine1322 of the Lord.2962

13 Now1161 when Paul3972 and his company3588 4012 loosed321 from Paphos,3974 they came2064 to Perga4011 in Pamphylia:3828 and John2491 departing672 from them returned5290 to Jerusalem.2414

14 But when they departed1330 from Perga,4011 they came3854 to Antioch490 in Pisidia,4099 and went1525 into1519 the synagogue4864 on the sabbath4521 day,2250 and sat2523 down.2523

15 And after3326 the reading320 of the law3551 and the prophets4396 the rulers752 of the synagogue752 sent649 to them, saying,3004 You men435 and brothers,80 if1487 you have2076 any5100 word3056 of exhortation3874 for the people,2992 say3004 on.

16 Then1161 Paul3972 stood450 up, and beckoning2678 with his hand5495 said,2036 Men435 of Israel,2475 and you that fear5399 God,2316 give audience.191

17 The God2316 of this5127 people2992 of Israel2474 chose1586 our fathers,3962 and exalted5312 the people2992 when1722 3588 they dwelled3940 as strangers1722 3940 in the land1093 of Egypt,125 and with an high5308 arm1023 brought1806 he them out of it.

18 And about5613 the time5550 of forty5063 years5063 suffered5159 he their manners5159 in the wilderness.2048

19 And when he had destroyed2507 seven2033 nations1484 in the land1093 of Chanaan,5477 he divided2624 their land1093 to them by lot.2624

20 And after3326 that he gave1325 to them judges2923 about5613 the space of four5071 hundred5071 and fifty4004 years,2094 until2193 Samuel4545 the prophet.4396

21 And afterward2547 they desired154 a king:935 and God2316 gave1325 to them Saul4569 the son5207 of Cis,2797 a man435 of the tribe5443 of Benjamin,958 by the space of forty5062 years.2094

22 And when he had removed3179 him, he raised1453 up to them David1138 to be their king;935 to whom3739 also2532 he gave3140 their testimony,3140 and said,2036 I have found2147 David1138 the son5207 of Jesse,2421 a man435 after2596 my3450 own heart,2588 which3739 shall fulfill4160 all3956 my will.2307

23 Of this5127 man's seed4690 has God2316 according2596 to his promise1860 raised1453 to Israel2474 a Savior,4990 Jesus:2424

24 When John2491 had first preached4296 before4253 4383 his coming1529 the baptism908 of repentance3341 to all3956 the people2992 of Israel.2474

25 And as John2491 fulfilled4137 his course,1408 he said,3004 Whom5101 think5282 you that I am?1511 I am1510 not he. But, behold,2400 there comes2064 one after3326 me, whose3739 shoes5266 of his feet4228 I am1510 not worthy514 to loose.3089

26 Men435 and brothers,80 children5207 of the stock1085 of Abraham,11 and whoever3588 among1722 you fears5399 God,2316 to you is the word3056 of this5026 salvation4991 sent.649

27 For they that dwell2730 at1722 Jerusalem,2419 and their rulers,758 because they knew50 him not, nor2532 yet the voices5456 of the prophets4396 which3588 are read314 every3956 sabbath4521 day, they have fulfilled4137 them in condemning2919 him.

28 And though they found2147 no3367 cause156 of death2288 in him, yet desired154 they Pilate4091 that he should be slain.337

29 And when5613 they had fulfilled5055 all537 that was written1125 of him, they took2507 him down2507 from the tree,3586 and laid5087 him in a sepulcher.3419

30 But God2316 raised1453 him from the dead:3498

31 And he was seen3700 many4119 days2250 of them which came4872 up with him from Galilee1056 to Jerusalem,2419 who3748 are his witnesses3144 to the people.2992

32 And we declare2097 to you glad2097 tidings,2097 how that the promise1860 which was made1096 to the fathers,3962

33 God2316 has fulfilled1603 the same5026 to us their children,5043 in that he has raised450 up Jesus2424 again;450 as it is also2532 written1125 in the second1208 psalm,5568 You are1488 my Son,5207 this4594 day4594 have I begotten1080 you.

34 And as concerning3754 that he raised450 him up from the dead,3498 now no3371 more2001 to return5290 to corruption,1312 he said5346 on this3779 wise, I will give1325 you the sure4103 mercies3741 of David.1138

35 Why1352 he said3004 also2532 in another2087 psalm, You shall not suffer1325 your4675 Holy3741 One to see1492 corruption.1312

36 For David,1138 after he had served5256 his own2398 generation1074 by the will1012 of God,2316 fell on sleep,2837 and was laid4369 to his fathers,3962 and saw1492 corruption:1312

37 But he, whom3739 God2316 raised1453 again,1453 saw1492 no3756 corruption.1312

38 Be it known1110 to you therefore,3767 men435 and brothers,80 that through1223 this5127 man is preached2605 to you the forgiveness859 of sins:266

39 And by him all3956 that believe4100 are justified1344 from all3956 things, from which3739 you could1410 not be justified1344 by the law3551 of Moses.3475

40 Beware991 therefore,3767 lest3361 that come1904 on you, which is spoken2046 of in the prophets;4396

41 Behold,1492 you despisers,2707 and wonder,2296 and perish:853 for I work2040 a work2041 in your5216 days,2250 a work2041 which you shall in no3364 wise believe,4100 though1437 a man5100 declare1555 it to you.

42 And when the Jews2453 were gone1826 out of the synagogue,4864 the Gentiles1484 sought3870 that these5023 words4487 might be preached2980 to them the next3342 sabbath.4521

43 Now1161 when the congregation4864 was broken3089 up, many4183 of the Jews2453 and religious4576 proselytes4339 followed190 Paul3972 and Barnabas:921 who,3748 speaking4354 to them, persuaded3982 them to continue1961 in the grace5485 of God.2316

44 And the next2064 sabbath4521 day came4863 almost4975 the whole3956 city4172 together4863 to hear191 the word3056 of God.2316

45 But when the Jews2453 saw1492 the multitudes,3793 they were filled4130 with envy,2205 and spoke483 against483 those3588 things which were spoken3004 by Paul,3972 contradicting483 and blaspheming.987

46 Then1161 Paul3972 and Barnabas921 waxed3955 bold,3955 and said,2036 It was necessary316 that the word3056 of God2316 should first4412 have been spoken2980 to you: but seeing1894 you put683 it from you, and judge2919 yourselves1438 unworthy3756 514 of everlasting166 life,2222 see,2400 we turn4762 to the Gentiles.1484

47 For so3779 has the Lord2962 commanded1781 us, saying, I have set5087 you to be a light5457 of the Gentiles,1484 that you should be for salvation4991 to the ends2078 of the earth.1093

48 And when the Gentiles1484 heard191 this, they were glad,5463 and glorified1392 the word3056 of the Lord:2962 and as many3745 as were ordained5021 to eternal166 life2222 believed.4100

49 And the word3056 of the Lord2962 was published1308 throughout1223 all3650 the region.5561

50 But the Jews2453 stirred3951 up the devout4576 and honorable2158 women,1135 and the chief4413 men of the city,4172 and raised1892 persecution1375 against1909 Paul3972 and Barnabas,921 and expelled1544 them out of their coasts.3725

51 But they shook1621 off1621 the dust2868 of their feet4228 against1909 them, and came2064 to Iconium.2430

52 And the disciples3101 were filled4137 with joy,5479 and with the Holy40 Ghost.4151

6 And when they had traveled the whole island as far as the city of Pa'phos, they found a Jewish sorcerer, who was a false prophet and whose name was Bar-Shu'ma:

6 And when they had gone1330 through1330 the isle3520 to Paphos,3974 they found2147 a certain5100 sorcerer,3097 a false5578 prophet,5578 a Jew,2453 whose3739 name3686 was Barjesus:919

7 Who was very close friend to a wise man, the proconsul whose name was Ser'gi-us Pau'lus, who called for Saul and Bar'na-bas, and desired to hear from them the word of God.

7 Which3739 was with the deputy446 of the country, Sergius4588 Paulus,3972 a prudent4908 man;435 who3778 called4341 for Barnabas921 and Saul,4569 and desired1934 to hear191 the word3056 of God.2316

8 But Bar-Shu'ma the sorcerer (whose name is interpreted Elymas) withstood them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith.

8 But Elymas1681 the sorcerer3097 (for so3779 is his name3686 by interpretation)3177 withstood436 them, seeking2212 to turn1294 away1294 the deputy446 from the faith.4102

9 Then Saul, who is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked at him,

9 Then1161 Saul,4569 (who3739 also2532 is called4341 Paul,3972) filled4130 with the Holy40 Ghost,4151 set816 his eyes on1519 him.

10 And said, O man full of every kind of subtlety and of all evil things, you son of the devil and enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the LORD?

10 And said,2036 O full4134 of all3956 subtlety1388 and all3956 mischief,4468 you child5207 of the devil,1228 you enemy2190 of all3956 righteousness,1343 will you not cease3973 to pervert1294 the right2117 ways3598 of the Lord?2962

11 And now the hand of the LORD is against you, and you shall be blind, and shall not see the sun for a time. And in that very hour there fell on him a mist and darkness; and he went about seeking some one to lead him by the hand.

12 And when the proconsul saw what had happened, he was amazed, and believed the teaching of the LORD.

12 Then5119 the deputy,446 when he saw1492 what3588 was done,1096 believed,4100 being astonished1605 at1909 the doctrine1322 of the Lord.2962

13 Then Paul and Bar'na-bas sailed from the city of Pa'phos, and came to Per'ga, a city in Pam-phyl'i-a: and John separated from them and went to Jerusalem.

13 Now1161 when Paul3972 and his company3588 4012 loosed321 from Paphos,3974 they came2064 to Perga4011 in Pamphylia:3828 and John2491 departing672 from them returned5290 to Jerusalem.2414

14 But they left Per'ga and came to An'tioch, a city in Pi-sid'i-a, and on the Sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat down.

14 But when they departed1330 from Perga,4011 they came3854 to Antioch490 in Pisidia,4099 and went1525 into1519 the synagogue4864 on the sabbath4521 day,2250 and sat2523 down.2523

15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the elders of the synagogue sent to them, saying, O men and brethren, if you have a word of encouragement for the people, speak.

16 So Paul stood up, and lifting his hands said, O men of Israel, and those of you who fear God, hear my words:

16 Then1161 Paul3972 stood450 up, and beckoning2678 with his hand5495 said,2036 Men435 of Israel,2475 and you that fear5399 God,2316 give audience.191

17 The God of this people of Is'ra-el chose our forefathers, and exalted and multiplied them when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with a strong arm he brought them out of it.

18 And he fed them in the wilderness for forty years.

18 And about5613 the time5550 of forty5063 years5063 suffered5159 he their manners5159 in the wilderness.2048

19 And he destroyed seven nations in the land of Ca'naan, and he gave them their land for an inheritance.

19 And when he had destroyed2507 seven2033 nations1484 in the land1093 of Chanaan,5477 he divided2624 their land1093 to them by lot.2624

20 And for a period of four hundred and fifty years he gave them judges until the time of the prophet Samuel.

20 And after3326 that he gave1325 to them judges2923 about5613 the space of four5071 hundred5071 and fifty4004 years,2094 until2193 Samuel4545 the prophet.4396

21 Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for a period of forty years.

21 And afterward2547 they desired154 a king:935 and God2316 gave1325 to them Saul4569 the son5207 of Cis,2797 a man435 of the tribe5443 of Benjamin,958 by the space of forty5062 years.2094

22 And when in time God took Saul away he raised up to them David to be their king; concerning whom he testified and said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, to do my will.

23 Of this man's seed God has, according to his promise, raised to Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

23 Of this5127 man's seed4690 has God2316 according2596 to his promise1860 raised1453 to Israel2474 a Savior,4990 Jesus:2424

24 Before whose coming, he had sent John to preach the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

24 When John2491 had first preached4296 before4253 4383 his coming1529 the baptism908 of repentance3341 to all3956 the people2992 of Israel.2474

25 And as John fulfilled his ministry, he said, Whom do you think I am? I am not he. But behold there comes one after me the strings of whose shoes I am not worthy to untie.

26 O men and brethren, descendants of the family of Abraham, and whosoever among you fears God, to you is the word of salvation sent.

26 Men435 and brothers,80 children5207 of the stock1085 of Abraham,11 and whoever3588 among1722 you fears5399 God,2316 to you is the word3056 of this5026 salvation4991 sent.649

27 For in as much as the inhabitants of Jerusalem and their leaders did not understand him nor the en_lbp_books of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they condemned him; but all the things which were written have been fulfilled.

28 And though they found no cause for his death, they asked Pilate that they might kill him.

28 And though they found2147 no3367 cause156 of death2288 in him, yet desired154 they Pilate4091 that he should be slain.337

29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they lowered him from the cross and laid him in a sepulchre.

29 And when5613 they had fulfilled5055 all537 that was written1125 of him, they took2507 him down2507 from the tree,3586 and laid5087 him in a sepulcher.3419

30 But God raised him from the dead;

30 But God2316 raised1453 him from the dead:3498

31 And for many days he was seen by them who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and they are now his witnesses to the people.

31 And he was seen3700 many4119 days2250 of them which came4872 up with him from Galilee1056 to Jerusalem,2419 who3748 are his witnesses3144 to the people.2992

32 And behold we also preach to you that that very promise which was made to our fathers,

32 And we declare2097 to you glad2097 tidings,2097 how that the promise1860 which was made1096 to the fathers,3962

33 Behold God has fulfilled it unto us their children, for he has raised up Jesus, just as it is written in the second psalm, You are my son, this day I have begotten you.

34 And God raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, as he said, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

34 And as concerning3754 that he raised450 him up from the dead,3498 now no3371 more2001 to return5290 to corruption,1312 he said5346 on this3779 wise, I will give1325 you the sure4103 mercies3741 of David.1138

35 And again he said in another place, You shall not suffer your Holy One to see corruption.

35 Why1352 he said3004 also2532 in another2087 psalm, You shall not suffer1325 your4675 Holy3741 One to see1492 corruption.1312

36 For David, after he had served his own generation with the will of God, passed away; though he was a greater man than his fathers, yet he saw corruption.

36 For David,1138 after he had served5256 his own2398 generation1074 by the will1012 of God,2316 fell on sleep,2837 and was laid4369 to his fathers,3962 and saw1492 corruption:1312

37 But he whom God raised did not see corruption.

37 But he, whom3739 God2316 raised1453 again,1453 saw1492 no3756 corruption.1312

38 Be it known to you, therefore, brethren, that through this very one is preached to you the forgiveness of sins:

38 Be it known1110 to you therefore,3767 men435 and brothers,80 that through1223 this5127 man is preached2605 to you the forgiveness859 of sins:266

39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

39 And by him all3956 that believe4100 are justified1344 from all3956 things, from which3739 you could1410 not be justified1344 by the law3551 of Moses.3475

40 Beware, therefore, lest that which is written in the prophets may come upon you.

40 Beware991 therefore,3767 lest3361 that come1904 on you, which is spoken2046 of in the prophets;4396

41 Be careful, O you despisers, for you shall wonder and perish: for I will do a great work in your day which you will not believe even if a man tell it to you.

41 Behold,1492 you despisers,2707 and wonder,2296 and perish:853 for I work2040 a work2041 in your5216 days,2250 a work2041 which you shall in no3364 wise believe,4100 though1437 a man5100 declare1555 it to you.

42 And as Paul and Bar'na-bas were leaving them, the people besought them to speak these things to them the next sabbath.

42 And when the Jews2453 were gone1826 out of the synagogue,4864 the Gentiles1484 sought3870 that these5023 words4487 might be preached2980 to them the next3342 sabbath.4521

43 Now when the congregation was dismissed, a great many Jews, and also proselytes who feared God, followed Paul and Bar'na-bas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

44 And the next sabbath day the whole city gathered to hear the word of God.

44 And the next2064 sabbath4521 day came4863 almost4975 the whole3956 city4172 together4863 to hear191 the word3056 of God.2316

45 But when the Jews saw the great crowd, they were filled with envy, and they bitterly opposed the words of Paul, and they blasphemed.

45 But when the Jews2453 saw1492 the multitudes,3793 they were filled4130 with envy,2205 and spoke483 against483 those3588 things which were spoken3004 by Paul,3972 contradicting483 and blaspheming.987

46 Then Paul and Bar'na-bas said to them boldly, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: but because you reject it, you have decided against yourselves and you are unworthy of everlasting life, so behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

47 For so has our Lord commanded us, as it is written, I have set you to be a light to the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

47 For so3779 has the Lord2962 commanded1781 us, saying, I have set5087 you to be a light5457 of the Gentiles,1484 that you should be for salvation4991 to the ends2078 of the earth.1093

48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified God; and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

48 And when the Gentiles1484 heard191 this, they were glad,5463 and glorified1392 the word3056 of the Lord:2962 and as many3745 as were ordained5021 to eternal166 life2222 believed.4100

49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all that region.

49 And the word3056 of the Lord2962 was published1308 throughout1223 all3650 the region.5561

50 But the Jews stirred up the chief men of the city and the rich women who worshipped God with them, so that they stirred up a persecution against Paul and Bar'na-bas, and expelled them beyond their borders.

50 But the Jews2453 stirred3951 up the devout4576 and honorable2158 women,1135 and the chief4413 men of the city,4172 and raised1892 persecution1375 against1909 Paul3972 and Barnabas,921 and expelled1544 them out of their coasts.3725

51 And as they went out, they shook off the dust of their feet upon them, and they came to the city of I-co'ni-um.

51 But they shook1621 off1621 the dust2868 of their feet4228 against1909 them, and came2064 to Iconium.2430

52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Spirit.

52 And the disciples3101 were filled4137 with joy,5479 and with the Holy40 Ghost.4151
