3 And Moses4872 by5921 the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 sent7971 them from the wilderness4480 4057 of Paran:6290 all3605 those1992 men376 were heads7218 of the children1121 of Israel.3478

22 And they ascended5927 by the south,5045 and came935 unto5704 Hebron;2275 where8033 Ahiman,289 Sheshai,8344 and Talmai,8526 the children3211 of Anak,6061 were. (Now Hebron2275 was built1129 seven7651 years8141 before6440 Zoan6814 in Egypt.)4714

23 And they came935 unto5704 the brook5158 of Eshcol,812 and cut down3772 from thence4480 8033 a branch2156 with one259 cluster811 of grapes,6025 and they bore5375 it between two8147 upon a staff;4132 and they brought of4480 the pomegranates,7416 and of4480 the figs.8384

24 The place4725 was called7121 the brook5158 Eshcol,812 because5921 182 of the cluster of grapes811 which834 the children1121 of Israel3478 cut down3772 from thence.4480 8033

25 And they returned7725 from searching4480 8446 of the land776 after4480 7093 forty705 days.3117

26 And they went1980 and came935 to413 Moses,4872 and to413 Aaron,175 and to413 all3605 the congregation5712 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 unto413 the wilderness4057 of Paran,6290 to Kadesh;6946 and brought back7725 word1697 unto them, and unto all3605 the congregation,5712 and showed7200 them853 the fruit6529 of the land.776

27 And they told5608 him, and said,559 We came935 unto413 the land776 whither834 thou sentest7971 us, and surely1571 it1931 floweth2100 with milk2461 and honey;1706 and this2088 is the fruit6529 of it.

28 Nevertheless657 3588 the people5971 be strong5794 that dwell3427 in the land,776 and the cities5892 are walled,1219 and very3966 great:1419 and moreover1571 we saw7200 the children3211 of Anak6061 there.8033

29 The Amalekites6003 dwell3427 in the land776 of the south:5045 and the Hittites,2850 and the Jebusites,2983 and the Amorites,567 dwell3427 in the mountains:2022 and the Canaanites3669 dwell3427 by5921 the sea,3220 and by5921 the coast3027 of Jordan.3383

30 And Caleb3612 stilled2013 853 the people5971 before413 Moses,4872 and said,559 Let us go up at once,5927 5927 and possess3423 it; for3588 we are well able3201 to overcome3201 it.

31 But the men376 that834 went up5927 with5973 him said,559 We be not able3201 3808 to go up5927 against413 the people;5971 for3588 they1931 are stronger2389 than4480 we.

32 And they brought up3318 an evil report1681 of the land776 which834 they had searched8446 unto413 the children1121 of Israel,3478 saying,559 The land,776 through which834 we have gone5674 to search8446 it, is a land776 that1931 eateth up398 the inhabitants3427 thereof; and all3605 the people5971 that834 we saw7200 in8432 it are men376 of a great stature.4060

33 And there8033 we saw7200 853 the giants,5303 the sons1121 of Anak,6061 which come of4480 the giants:5303 and we were1961 in our own sight5869 as grasshoppers,2284 and so3651 we were1961 in their sight.5869

11 из рода Завулона — Гаддиил, сын Соди;

12 из рода Иосифа (через Манассию) — Гаддий, сын Суси;

13 из рода Дана — Аммиил, сын Гемалли;

14 из рода Асира — Сефур, сын Михаила;

15 из рода Неффалима — Нахбий, сын Вофси;

16 из рода Гада — Геуил, сын Махи.

17 Таковы имена тех, кого Моисей послал разведать землю. (Раньше Моисей дал Осии, сыну Навину, имя Иисус.)

18 Посылая их разведать Ханаан, Моисей сказал: — Идите через Негев в нагорья.

19 Посмотрите, что это за земля и что за народ живет там, силен он или слаб, мал или велик?

20 Какова земля, на которой он живет, хорошая или плохая? В каких городах он живет: без стен они или укреплены?

21 Какова там почва, плодородная или бесплодная? Есть там деревья или нет? Будьте смелы, возьмите с собой плодов этой земли. (Как раз настала пора созревания винограда.)

22 Они пошли и разведали землю от пустыни Цин до самого Рехова, что у Лево-Хамата.

23 Они пошли в Негев и пришли в Хеврон, где жили Ахиман, Шешай и Талмай, потомки Анака. (Хеврон был построен за семь лет до Цоана в Египте.)

24 Придя в долину Эшкол, они срезали виноградную ветку с одной гроздью ягод, и двое из них понесли ее на шесте. Еще они взяли гранатов и инжира.

25 Это место было названо долиной Эшкол из-за грозди, которую срезали там израильтяне.

26 Через сорок дней они вернулись из разведки.

27 Они вернулись к Моисею, Аарону и обществу израильскому в Кадеш в пустыне Паран. Там они отчитывались перед ними и народом и показали им плоды этой земли.

28 Они сказали Моисею: — Мы были в краю, куда ты нас посылал: там на самом деле течет молоко и мед! Вот его плоды.

29 Но народ, который живет там, силен, а его города укреплены и очень велики. Мы даже видели там потомков Анака.

30 Амаликитяне живут в Негеве, хетты, иевусеи и аморреи — в нагорьях, а хананеи — у моря и по Иордану.

31 Халев успокоил народ перед Моисеем и сказал: — Идем и овладеем землей, ведь нам это по силам.

32 Но те, кто ходил с ним, сказали: — Мы не можем напасть на этот народ — он сильнее нас.

33 Они порочили перед израильтянами землю, которую разведали, говоря: — Земля, которую мы разведали, пожирает своих обитателей. Все люди, которых мы там видели, огромного роста.
