4 Yea,637 thou859 castest off6565 fear,3374 and restrainest1639 prayer7881 before6440 God.410

5 For3588 thy mouth6310 uttereth502 thine iniquity,5771 and thou choosest977 the tongue3956 of the crafty.6175

6 Thine own mouth6310 condemneth7561 thee, and not3808 I:589 yea, thine own lips8193 testify6030 against thee.

7 Art thou the first7223 man120 that was born?3205 or wast thou made2342 before6440 the hills?1389

20 The wicked man7563 travaileth with pain2342 all3605 his days,3117 and the number4557 of years8141 is hidden6845 to the oppressor.6184

21 A dreadful6343 sound6963 is in his ears:241 in prosperity7965 the destroyer7703 shall come upon935 him.

22 He believeth539 not3808 that he shall return7725 out of4480 darkness,2822 and he1931 is waited for6822 of413 the sword.2719

23 He1931 wandereth abroad5074 for bread,3899 saying, Where346 is it? he knoweth3045 that3588 the day3117 of darkness2822 is ready3559 at his hand.3027

24 Trouble6862 and anguish4691 shall make him afraid;1204 they shall prevail against8630 him, as a king4428 ready6264 to the battle.3593

25 For3588 he stretcheth out5186 his hand3027 against413 God,410 and strengtheneth himself1396 against413 the Almighty.7706

26 He runneth7323 upon413 him, even on his neck,6677 upon the thick5672 bosses1354 of his bucklers: 4043

27 Because3588 he covereth3680 his face6440 with his fatness,2459 and maketh6213 collops of fat6371 on5921 his flanks.3689

28 And he dwelleth in7931 desolate3582 cities,5892 and in houses which1004 no3808 man inhabiteth,3427 which834 are ready6257 to become heaps.1530

29 He shall not3808 be rich,6238 neither3808 shall his substance2428 continue,6965 neither3808 shall he prolong5186 the perfection4512 thereof upon the earth.776

2 «Станет ли мудрец бросать слова на ветер, злопыхать утробой, раздутой ветром восточным?

3 Станет ли спорить он с бесполезной речью, со словами, от которых толку нет?

4 Ведь ты страх пред Богом отверг, молитву ни во что не ставишь!

5 Нечестие твое научило тебя таким словам, твой язык избрал коварство.

6 Не я — твоя речь обвиняет тебя, твои уста против тебя свидетельствуют!

7 Разве ты первым из людей родился? Прежде холмов появился на свет?

8 Или ты был на совете у Бога и один завладел мудростью?

9 Что ты знаешь такого, что нам неведомо? Или постиг то, что нам неизвестно?

10 Есть и среди нас седовласый и старец, что отца твоего старше!

11 Мало тебе утешений Божьих? Ласковых речей тебе недостаточно?

12 Куда же возносит тебя твой разум? Почему глаза твои смотрят дерзко?

13 И ты гнев свой обращаешь на Бога, а уста твои извергают такие речи!

14 Что есть человек? Разве может он быть чист? Рожденный женщиной, разве может он быть праведен?

15 Бог и святым Своим не доверяет, даже небеса перед взором Его не чисты!

16 Тем более человек — порочный и растленный, что злодейство пьет, словно воду!

17 Расскажу тебе, а ты меня послушай! О том, что видел сам, тебе поведаю,

18 что возвещали мудрецы, не скрыв того, что их отцы рассказывали им!

19 Им одним отдана была земля, и чужого среди них не было!

20 Нечестивец всю жизнь свою мучается, и злодею отпущено немного лет!

21 В ушах его стоит крик ужаса, нападет на него губитель в мирное время.

22 Он не надеется из тьмы вернуться, меч его настигнет!

23 Брошен он на съедение стервятникам, знает, что уготована ему погибель. День мрака

24 его ужасает, беда и горе его одолели, словно царь, бросившийся в битву.

25 Потому что на Бога поднял он руку, перед Всесильным похвалялся силой,

26 вышел против Него горделиво, с крепким щитом изогнутым.

27 И пусть лицо его лоснится от жира и бедра его разжирели,

28 он будет обитать в городах опустошенных, в домах, где никто не живет, обреченных в развалины превратиться.

29 Не будет у него богатства, и силы у него не станет, и тени его на земле не останется.

30 Не спастись ему от мрака, ветви его огонь иссушит, и цвет его будет унесен ветром.

31 Пусть впустую не надеется, не обманывается, ибо всё впустую.

32 Увянет он рано, до срока, на ветвях его не будет листьев.

33 Будет он словно лоза, что лишилась неспелых ягод, словно маслина, у которой цвет отрясли.

34 Ибо скопище безбожников бесполезно, и огонь пожрет шатер взяточника.

35 Ибо зачинают они преступление, рождают злодеяние, утроба их вынашивает вероломство».
