2 He cometh forth3318 like a flower,6731 and is cut down:5243 he fleeth1272 also as a shadow,6738 and continueth5975 not.3808

3 And637 dost thou open6491 thine eyes5869 upon5921 such a one,2088 and bringest935 me into judgment4941 with5973 thee?

4 Who4310 can bring5414 a clean2889 thing out of an unclean?4480 2931 not3808 one.259

5 Seeing518 his days3117 are determined,2782 the number4557 of his months2320 are with854 thee, thou hast appointed6213 his bounds2706 that he cannot3808 pass;5674

6 Tue dich8159 von ihm, daß er Ruhe habe2308, bis daß seine Zeit3117 komme, deren er wie ein Taglöhner wartet7521.

7 Ein Baum6086 hat3772 Hoffnung8615, wenn er schon abgehauen ist3426, daß er sich wieder verändere, und seine Schößlinge3127 hören nicht auf2308.

8 Ob seine Wurzel8328 in der Erde776 veraltet2204 und sein4191 Stamm1503 in dem Staube6083 erstirbt,

9 grünet er doch wieder vom Geruch7381 des Wassers4325 und6213 wächst daher7105, als wäre er gepflanzet.

10 Wo ist aber ein Mensch1397, wenn er120 tot und umkommen und dahin2522 ist?

11 Wie ein Wasser4325 ausläuft235 aus dem See3220 und wie ein Strom5104 versieget und vertrocknet3001,

12 so ist ein376 Mensch, wenn er sich7901 legt, und wird nicht aufstehen und wird nicht aufwachen6974, solange der Himmel8064 bleibt, noch von1115 seinem Schlaf8142 erweckt5782 werden6965.
