Книга Иова

Глава 5

1 «Иов, ты, если хочешь, можешь звать, но нет здесь никого, кто б мог тебе ответить! Ни к одному из Ангелов тебе не повернуться!

2 Гнев глупого убьёт его, а зависть смертельна будет для простака.

3 Я видел глупого, который думал, что ему ничто не угрожает, но неожиданно он умер.

4 Никто помочь не может его детям, и не было в суде того, кто б мог их защитить.

5 Голодные съедали посаженный им урожай. Те люди собирали даже зёрна, растущие среди терновника. Всё взяли жадные, что было.

6 Плохие времена не из пыли рождены, и не восстают они из грязи.

7 Но человек родился для несчастий, и это так же верно, как искра вылетает из костра.

8 Но, если бы, Иов, я был тобой, я б повернулся к Богу и рассказал Ему обо всех своих несчастьях.

9 Прекрасных дел Господних люди понять не могут.

10 Конца не знают чудеса Господние. Он шлёт земле дожди и воду на поля.

11 Господь смиренных возвышает и делает печального счастливым.

12 Бог останавливает замыслы злоумных и не дает успеха им достичь.

13 Бог ловит мудрых в их ловушки, чтобы их планы сбыться не могли.

14 Такие умники и средь бела дня спотыкаются и чувствуют себя как человек, который ищет путь в потёмках.

15 Господь от смерти охраняет бедных, Господь спасает и от могущества злоумных хитрецов.

16 У бедных есть всегда надежда. Тех, кто Бога не боится, Он карает.

17 Счастлив человек, когда его Господь поправит. Не жалуйся, если Всемогущий наказал тебя.

18 Бог накладывает повязки на нанесённые Им раны. Он может кого-нибудь поранить, но Его же руки и лечат.

19 От многих бед Господь тебя спасёт, Он защитит тебя от всех несчастий.

20 Бог от смерти тебя спасёт, когда будет голод, Он не даст тебе умереть во время войны.

21 Люди с острыми языками могут плохое о тебе сказать, но Господь охранит тебя. И не страшись, если придёт беда.

22 Ты посмеёшься над разрухой и голодом, и звери хищные тебя не устрашат.

23 Даже с камнями в поле ты найдёшь примирение, и дикие звери будут в мире с тобой.

24 Ты будешь жить в мире, поскольку в безопасности твой шатёр, и, сосчитав всё своё добро, увидишь, что ничего не пропало.

25 У тебя будет много детей, так же много, как на земле травинок.

26 Ты будешь подобен пшенице, что дождалась сбора урожая. Так и ты доживёшь до старости.

27 Иов, мы научились этому и знаем твёрдо, что правда это всё. Поэтому ты слушай нас, Иов, и сам всему учись».

Job

Chapter 5

1 CALL now, I pray you; is there any one to answer you? And to which of the holy ones will you turn?

2 For anger kills the foolish man, and enmity slays the silly one.

3 I have seen the wicked prosper; but his habitation is suddenly destroyed.

4 His children are far from salvation, and they are humiliated at the gate, and there is no one to deliver them.

5 His harvest the hungry eat up; and they shall pour out water to the thirsty, and the thirsty devour their substance.

6 For falsehood does not come forth from the dust, nor does iniquity spring out of the ground;

7 For man is born for trouble, as sure as the wild birds fly.

8 But as for me. I would seek God, and to God I would commit my cause,

9 Who has done great things without limit; and marvellous things without number.

10 Who gives rain upon the earth, and sends water upon the streets;

11 To set up on high those that are lowly; and the meek shall be exalted by salvation.

12 He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot wisely perform their enterprise.

13 He takes the wise in their subtlety; and the counsel of the crafty is frustrated.

14 They handle things in the daytime as though they were in darkness, and grope in the noonday as in the night.

15 But he saves their lives from the sword, and the poor from the hand of the mighty.

16 So there shall be hope for the poor, but the wicked shall shut his mouth.

17 Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; and he who does not despise the chastening of the Almighty;

18 For it is he who wounds, and binds up; he smites, and his hands heal.

19 He shall deliver you in six troubles; yea, in seven there shall no evil touch you.

20 In famine he shall deliver you from death; and in war from the power of the sword.

21 You shall be protected from the scourge of the tongue; and you shall not be afraid of destruction when it comes.

22 At plunder and famine you shall laugh; and you shall not fear the wild beasts.

23 For you shall be in league with the stones of the field; and the wild beasts shall surrender to you.

24 You shall know that your tabernacle shall be in peace; and you shall return to your habitation, and shall not sin.

25 You shall know also that your descendants shall be many, and your offspring like the grass of the earth.

26 You shall come to your grave gently, like a shock of grain in its season.

27 Lo this thing we have searched, and it is so; we have heard it; and you know it for your good.

10 Конца не знают чудеса Господние. Он шлёт земле дожди и воду на поля.	10 Who gives rain upon the earth, and sends water upon the streets;
