Chapter 7

1 AND the LORD said to Moses, See, I have made you a god to Pharaoh; and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.

2 You shall speak all that I command you; and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

4 But Pharaoh will not hearken to you, that I may smite Egypt, and bring forth my hosts and my people the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I lift up my hand against Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

6 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

7 And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

8 And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

9 If Pharaoh should say to you, Show me a sign; then you shall say to Aaron, Take your staff and cast it down before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.

10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh, and they did as the LORD had commanded; and Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and before his noblemen, and it became a serpent.

11 Then Pharaoh called the wise men and the magicians; now the magicians of Egypt, they also did the same with their magic.

12 For they cast down every man his staff and they became serpents; but Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs.

13 However Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and would not let them go, as the LORD had said.

14 Then the LORD said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuses to let the people go.

15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning; behold, he goes out to his daily duty; and you stand toward him by the river's brink and wait; and take in your hand the staff which was turned into a serpent.

16 And you shall say to him, The LORD God of the Hebrews has sent me to you, saying, Let my people go that they may serve me in the wilderness; and, behold, hitherto you have not listened.

17 Thus says the LORD, By this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike upon the waters of the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

18 And the fish that are in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink of the water of the river.

19 And the LORD said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Take your staff and lift up your hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their rivers, upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, and upon the streams, and they shall become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, in both vessels of wood and vessels of stone.

20 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD had commanded them; and Aaron lifted up the staff which was in his hand and smote the waters of the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned into blood.

21 And the fish that were in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

22 And the magicians of Egypt did the same by their enchantments; but Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said.

23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take to heart even this sign.

24 And all the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.

25 And seven days passed after the LORD had smitten the river.

1 «Помни, Я возвысил тебя, ты — словно Бог для фараона, а брат твой Аарон будет твоим пророком, — отвечал ГОСПОДЬ Моисею. —

2 Говори всё, что Я повелю тебе сказать, Аарону, брату своему, а он будет передавать эти слова фараону, чтобы тот отпустил сынов Израилевых из страны своей.

3 Я попущу фараону коснеть в своем упрямстве; и, хотя совершу множество чудес и знамений в земле египетской,

4 фараон не послушает вас. Явлю Я тогда Египту силу Свою: ниспошлю на него суды великие и выведу построенные по коленам и родам рати Мои, народ Мой, сынов Израилевых, из Египта.

5 И узнают египтяне, что Я ГОСПОДЬ, когда Я руку Свою простру, чтобы сокрушить Египет и вывести из него сынов Израилевых».

6 Моисей с Аароном так всё и сделали, как повелел им ГОСПОДЬ.

7 (На то время, когда говорили они с фараоном, Моисею было уже восемьдесят лет, а Аарону — восемьдесят три года.)

8 ГОСПОДЬ сказал Моисею и Аарону:

9 «Если фараон потребует: „Дайте мне подтверждение слов ваших — чудо какое-нибудь покажите“, тогда ты, Моисей, вели Аарону бросить его посох к ногам фараона. Посох превратится в змею!»

10 Моисей с Аароном пришли к фараону и сделали всё так, как повелел им ГОСПОДЬ: при фараоне и его придворных Аарон бросил на землю свой посох, и тот превратился в змею.

11 Тогда фараон созвал мудрецов и чародеев, и эти маги египетские силою своего волшебства проделали то же самое:

12 каждый из них бросил на землю свой посох и все они, посохи эти, тоже превратились в змей. Но посох Аарона, в змею превращенный, поглотил все их посохи.

13 И тут сердцем фараона овладело упрямство, как и предрекал ГОСПОДЬ: он и слушать не стал Моисея с Аароном.

14 Тогда сказал ГОСПОДЬ Моисею: «Фараон непреклонен. Не хочет он отпустить народ.

15 Поэтому завтра ранним утром иди опять к фараону в то время, когда он обычно направляется к реке. Стань на берегу Нила в том месте, где ты можешь повстречаться с ним. Держи в руке тот самый посох, который был превращен в змею,

16 и вот что скажи фараону: „ГОСПОДЬ, Бог евреев, посылал меня к тебе со словами: „Отпусти народ Мой, дабы мог он совершить в пустыне служение Мне“. Но этим словам ты до сих пор не внял.

17 Поэтому так говорит ГОСПОДЬ: „Ты узнаешь, Кто есть ГОСПОДЬ. Узнаешь это, когда посохом, что в руке моей, ударю я по воде, и в кровь превратится она.

18 Погибнет рыба в ней, и река станет зловонной. Не смогут тогда египтяне пить воду из Нила““».

19 И еще сказал ГОСПОДЬ Моисею: «Вели Аарону взять посох, поднять руку свою и ударить по водам Нила в знак бедствия, насылаемого на воды египтян: на реки их и оросительные каналы, пруды и все водоемы, — вода в них превратится в кровь. Кровью станет она по всей земле египетской, даже в деревянных и в каменных сосудах».

20 На глазах фараона и придворных его Моисей с Аароном сделали всё, как повелел им ГОСПОДЬ. Поднял посох свой Аарон и ударил по водам Нила: вся вода в реке превратилась в кровь,

21 и вымерла рыба в ней. Стала зловонной река, и египтяне не могли уже пить воду из нее. Повсюду в Египте кровь была вместо воды.

22 То же самое проделали силою чар своих и маги египетские. И фараон остался непреклонен, как и предрекал ГОСПОДЬ, не стал он слушать Моисея и Аарона,

23 отвернулся от них и пошел во дворец свой, как будто ничего не произошло.

24 А всем остальным египтянам пришлось копать колодцы у берегов Нила, чтобы найти воду, годную для питья, потому что воду из реки пить они не могли.

25 Прошло семь дней после того, как ГОСПОДЬ поразил реку Нил.

1 «Помни, Я возвысил тебя, ты — словно Бог для фараона, а брат твой Аарон будет твоим пророком, — отвечал ГОСПОДЬ Моисею. —

2 Говори всё, что Я повелю тебе сказать, Аарону, брату своему, а он будет передавать эти слова фараону, чтобы тот отпустил сынов Израилевых из страны своей.

3 Я попущу фараону коснеть в своем упрямстве; и, хотя совершу множество чудес и знамений в земле египетской,

4 фараон не послушает вас. Явлю Я тогда Египту силу Свою: ниспошлю на него суды великие и выведу построенные по коленам и родам рати Мои, народ Мой, сынов Израилевых, из Египта.

5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I lift up my hand against Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

5 И узнают египтяне, что Я ГОСПОДЬ, когда Я руку Свою простру, чтобы сокрушить Египет и вывести из него сынов Израилевых».

6 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

6 Моисей с Аароном так всё и сделали, как повелел им ГОСПОДЬ.

7 And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

7 (На то время, когда говорили они с фараоном, Моисею было уже восемьдесят лет, а Аарону — восемьдесят три года.)

8 And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

8 ГОСПОДЬ сказал Моисею и Аарону:

9 If Pharaoh should say to you, Show me a sign; then you shall say to Aaron, Take your staff and cast it down before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.

9 «Если фараон потребует: „Дайте мне подтверждение слов ваших — чудо какое-нибудь покажите“, тогда ты, Моисей, вели Аарону бросить его посох к ногам фараона. Посох превратится в змею!»

10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh, and they did as the LORD had commanded; and Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and before his noblemen, and it became a serpent.

10 Моисей с Аароном пришли к фараону и сделали всё так, как повелел им ГОСПОДЬ: при фараоне и его придворных Аарон бросил на землю свой посох, и тот превратился в змею.

11 Then Pharaoh called the wise men and the magicians; now the magicians of Egypt, they also did the same with their magic.

11 Тогда фараон созвал мудрецов и чародеев, и эти маги египетские силою своего волшебства проделали то же самое:

12 For they cast down every man his staff and they became serpents; but Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs.

12 каждый из них бросил на землю свой посох и все они, посохи эти, тоже превратились в змей. Но посох Аарона, в змею превращенный, поглотил все их посохи.

13 However Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and would not let them go, as the LORD had said.

13 И тут сердцем фараона овладело упрямство, как и предрекал ГОСПОДЬ: он и слушать не стал Моисея с Аароном.

14 Then the LORD said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuses to let the people go.

14 Тогда сказал ГОСПОДЬ Моисею: «Фараон непреклонен. Не хочет он отпустить народ.

15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning; behold, he goes out to his daily duty; and you stand toward him by the river's brink and wait; and take in your hand the staff which was turned into a serpent.

15 Поэтому завтра ранним утром иди опять к фараону в то время, когда он обычно направляется к реке. Стань на берегу Нила в том месте, где ты можешь повстречаться с ним. Держи в руке тот самый посох, который был превращен в змею,

16 And you shall say to him, The LORD God of the Hebrews has sent me to you, saying, Let my people go that they may serve me in the wilderness; and, behold, hitherto you have not listened.

16 и вот что скажи фараону: „ГОСПОДЬ, Бог евреев, посылал меня к тебе со словами: „Отпусти народ Мой, дабы мог он совершить в пустыне служение Мне“. Но этим словам ты до сих пор не внял.

17 Thus says the LORD, By this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike upon the waters of the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

17 Поэтому так говорит ГОСПОДЬ: „Ты узнаешь, Кто есть ГОСПОДЬ. Узнаешь это, когда посохом, что в руке моей, ударю я по воде, и в кровь превратится она.

18 And the fish that are in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink of the water of the river.

18 Погибнет рыба в ней, и река станет зловонной. Не смогут тогда египтяне пить воду из Нила““».

19 And the LORD said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Take your staff and lift up your hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their rivers, upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, and upon the streams, and they shall become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, in both vessels of wood and vessels of stone.

19 И еще сказал ГОСПОДЬ Моисею: «Вели Аарону взять посох, поднять руку свою и ударить по водам Нила в знак бедствия, насылаемого на воды египтян: на реки их и оросительные каналы, пруды и все водоемы, — вода в них превратится в кровь. Кровью станет она по всей земле египетской, даже в деревянных и в каменных сосудах».

20 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD had commanded them; and Aaron lifted up the staff which was in his hand and smote the waters of the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned into blood.

20 На глазах фараона и придворных его Моисей с Аароном сделали всё, как повелел им ГОСПОДЬ. Поднял посох свой Аарон и ударил по водам Нила: вся вода в реке превратилась в кровь,

21 And the fish that were in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

21 и вымерла рыба в ней. Стала зловонной река, и египтяне не могли уже пить воду из нее. Повсюду в Египте кровь была вместо воды.

22 And the magicians of Egypt did the same by their enchantments; but Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said.

22 То же самое проделали силою чар своих и маги египетские. И фараон остался непреклонен, как и предрекал ГОСПОДЬ, не стал он слушать Моисея и Аарона,

23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take to heart even this sign.

23 отвернулся от них и пошел во дворец свой, как будто ничего не произошло.

24 And all the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.

24 А всем остальным египтянам пришлось копать колодцы у берегов Нила, чтобы найти воду, годную для питья, потому что воду из реки пить они не могли.

25 And seven days passed after the LORD had smitten the river.

25 Прошло семь дней после того, как ГОСПОДЬ поразил реку Нил.
