Exodus

Chapter 7

1 AND the LORD said to Moses, See, I have made you a god to Pharaoh; and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.

2 You shall speak all that I command you; and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

4 But Pharaoh will not hearken to you, that I may smite Egypt, and bring forth my hosts and my people the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I lift up my hand against Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

6 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

7 And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

8 And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

9 If Pharaoh should say to you, Show me a sign; then you shall say to Aaron, Take your staff and cast it down before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.

10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh, and they did as the LORD had commanded; and Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and before his noblemen, and it became a serpent.

11 Then Pharaoh called the wise men and the magicians; now the magicians of Egypt, they also did the same with their magic.

12 For they cast down every man his staff and they became serpents; but Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs.

13 However Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and would not let them go, as the LORD had said.

14 Then the LORD said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuses to let the people go.

15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning; behold, he goes out to his daily duty; and you stand toward him by the river's brink and wait; and take in your hand the staff which was turned into a serpent.

16 And you shall say to him, The LORD God of the Hebrews has sent me to you, saying, Let my people go that they may serve me in the wilderness; and, behold, hitherto you have not listened.

17 Thus says the LORD, By this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike upon the waters of the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

18 And the fish that are in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink of the water of the river.

19 And the LORD said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Take your staff and lift up your hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their rivers, upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, and upon the streams, and they shall become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, in both vessels of wood and vessels of stone.

20 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD had commanded them; and Aaron lifted up the staff which was in his hand and smote the waters of the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned into blood.

21 And the fish that were in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

22 And the magicians of Egypt did the same by their enchantments; but Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said.

23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take to heart even this sign.

24 And all the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.

25 And seven days passed after the LORD had smitten the river.

1 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Moses,4872 See,7200 I have made5414 thee a god430 to Pharaoh:6547 and Aaron175 thy brother251 shall be1961 thy prophet.5030

2 Thou859 shalt speak1696 853 all3605 that834 I command6680 thee: and Aaron175 thy brother251 shall speak1696 unto413 Pharaoh,6547 that he send7971 853 the children1121 of Israel3478 out of his land.4480 776

3 And I589 will harden7185 853 Pharaoh's6547 heart,3820 and multiply7235 853 my signs226 and my wonders4159 in the land776 of Egypt.4714

4 But Pharaoh6547 shall not3808 hearken8085 unto413 you, that I may lay5414 853 my hand3027 upon Egypt,4714 and bring forth3318 853 mine armies,6635 and853 my people5971 the children1121 of Israel,3478 out of the land4480 776 of Egypt4714 by great1419 judgments.8201

5 And the Egyptians4714 shall know3045 that3588 I589 am the LORD,3068 when I stretch forth5186 853 mine hand3027 upon5921 Egypt,4714 and bring out3318 853 the children1121 of Israel3478 from among4480 8432 them.

6 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 did6213 as834 the LORD3068 commanded6680 them, so3651 did6213 they.

7 And Moses4872 was fourscore8084 years8141 old,1121 and Aaron175 fourscore8084 and three7969 years8141 old,1121 when they spoke1696 unto413 Pharaoh.6547

8 And the LORD3068 spoke559 unto413 Moses4872 and unto413 Aaron,175 saying,559

9 When3588 Pharaoh6547 shall speak1696 unto413 you, saying,559 Show5414 a miracle4159 for you: then thou shalt say559 unto413 Aaron,175 Take3947 853 thy rod,4294 and cast7993 it before6440 Pharaoh,6547 and it shall become1961 a serpent.8577

10 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 went in935 unto413 Pharaoh,6547 and they did6213 so3651 as834 the LORD3068 had commanded:6680 and Aaron175 cast down7993 853 his rod4294 before6440 Pharaoh,6547 and before6440 his servants,5650 and it became1961 a serpent.8577

11 Then Pharaoh6547 also1571 called7121 the wise men2450 and the sorcerers:3784 now the magicians2748 of Egypt,4714 they1992 also1571 did6213 in like manner3651 with their enchantments.3858

12 For they cast down7993 every man376 his rod,4294 and they became1961 serpents:8577 but Aaron's175 rod4294 swallowed up1104 853 their rods.4294

13 And he hardened2388 Pharaoh's6547 heart,3820 that he hearkened8085 not3808 unto413 them; as834 the LORD3068 had said.1696

14 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Moses,4872 Pharaoh's6547 heart3820 is hardened,3515 he refuseth3985 to let the people5971 go.7971

15 Get1980 thee unto413 Pharaoh6547 in the morning;1242 lo,2009 he goeth out3318 unto the water;4325 and thou shalt stand5324 by5921 the river's2975 brink8193 against he come;7125 and the rod4294 which834 was turned2015 to a serpent5175 shalt thou take3947 in thine hand.3027

16 And thou shalt say559 unto413 him, The LORD3068 God430 of the Hebrews5680 hath sent7971 me unto413 thee, saying,559 Let853 my people5971 go,7971 that they may serve5647 me in the wilderness:4057 and, behold,2009 hitherto5704 3541 thou wouldest not3808 hear.8085

17 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 In this2063 thou shalt know3045 that3588 I589 am the LORD:3068 behold,2009 I595 will smite5221 with the rod4294 that834 is in mine hand3027 upon5921 the waters4325 which834 are in the river,2975 and they shall be turned2015 to blood.1818

18 And the fish1710 that834 is in the river2975 shall die,4191 and the river2975 shall stink;887 and the Egyptians4714 shall loathe3811 to drink8354 of the water4325 of4480 the river.2975

19 And the LORD3068 spoke559 unto413 Moses,4872 Say559 unto413 Aaron,175 Take3947 thy rod,4294 and stretch out5186 thine hand3027 upon5921 the waters4325 of Egypt,4714 upon5921 their streams,5104 upon5921 their rivers,2975 and upon5921 their ponds,98 and upon5921 all3605 their pools4723 of water,4325 that they may become1961 blood;1818 and that there may be1961 blood1818 throughout all3605 the land776 of Egypt,4714 both in vessels of wood,6086 and in vessels of stone.68

20 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 did6213 so,3651 as834 the LORD3068 commanded;6680 and he lifted up7311 the rod,4294 and smote5221 853 the waters4325 that834 were in the river,2975 in the sight5869 of Pharaoh,6547 and in the sight5869 of his servants;5650 and all3605 the waters4325 that834 were in the river2975 were turned2015 to blood.1818

21 And the fish1710 that834 was in the river2975 died;4191 and the river2975 stank,887 and the Egyptians4714 could3201 not3808 drink8354 of the water4325 of4480 the river;2975 and there was1961 blood1818 throughout all3605 the land776 of Egypt.4714

22 And the magicians2748 of Egypt4714 did6213 so3651 with their enchantments:3909 and Pharaoh's6547 heart3820 was hardened,2388 neither3808 did he hearken8085 unto413 them; as834 the LORD3068 had said.1696

23 And Pharaoh6547 turned6437 and went935 into413 his house,1004 neither3808 did he set7896 his heart3820 to this2063 also.1571

24 And all3605 the Egyptians4714 digged2658 round about5439 the river2975 for water4325 to drink;8354 for3588 they could3201 not3808 drink8354 of the water4480 4325 of the river.2975

25 And seven7651 days3117 were fulfilled,4390 after310 that the LORD3068 had smitten5221 853 the river.2975

Chapter 7

1 AND the LORD said to Moses, See, I have made you a god to Pharaoh; and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.

1 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Moses,4872 See,7200 I have made5414 thee a god430 to Pharaoh:6547 and Aaron175 thy brother251 shall be1961 thy prophet.5030

2 You shall speak all that I command you; and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

2 Thou859 shalt speak1696 853 all3605 that834 I command6680 thee: and Aaron175 thy brother251 shall speak1696 unto413 Pharaoh,6547 that he send7971 853 the children1121 of Israel3478 out of his land.4480 776

3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

3 And I589 will harden7185 853 Pharaoh's6547 heart,3820 and multiply7235 853 my signs226 and my wonders4159 in the land776 of Egypt.4714

4 But Pharaoh will not hearken to you, that I may smite Egypt, and bring forth my hosts and my people the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I lift up my hand against Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

5 And the Egyptians4714 shall know3045 that3588 I589 am the LORD,3068 when I stretch forth5186 853 mine hand3027 upon5921 Egypt,4714 and bring out3318 853 the children1121 of Israel3478 from among4480 8432 them.

6 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

6 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 did6213 as834 the LORD3068 commanded6680 them, so3651 did6213 they.

7 And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

7 And Moses4872 was fourscore8084 years8141 old,1121 and Aaron175 fourscore8084 and three7969 years8141 old,1121 when they spoke1696 unto413 Pharaoh.6547

8 And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

8 And the LORD3068 spoke559 unto413 Moses4872 and unto413 Aaron,175 saying,559

9 If Pharaoh should say to you, Show me a sign; then you shall say to Aaron, Take your staff and cast it down before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.

10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh, and they did as the LORD had commanded; and Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and before his noblemen, and it became a serpent.

11 Then Pharaoh called the wise men and the magicians; now the magicians of Egypt, they also did the same with their magic.

11 Then Pharaoh6547 also1571 called7121 the wise men2450 and the sorcerers:3784 now the magicians2748 of Egypt,4714 they1992 also1571 did6213 in like manner3651 with their enchantments.3858

12 For they cast down every man his staff and they became serpents; but Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs.

12 For they cast down7993 every man376 his rod,4294 and they became1961 serpents:8577 but Aaron's175 rod4294 swallowed up1104 853 their rods.4294

13 However Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and would not let them go, as the LORD had said.

13 And he hardened2388 Pharaoh's6547 heart,3820 that he hearkened8085 not3808 unto413 them; as834 the LORD3068 had said.1696

14 Then the LORD said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuses to let the people go.

14 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Moses,4872 Pharaoh's6547 heart3820 is hardened,3515 he refuseth3985 to let the people5971 go.7971

15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning; behold, he goes out to his daily duty; and you stand toward him by the river's brink and wait; and take in your hand the staff which was turned into a serpent.

16 And you shall say to him, The LORD God of the Hebrews has sent me to you, saying, Let my people go that they may serve me in the wilderness; and, behold, hitherto you have not listened.

17 Thus says the LORD, By this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike upon the waters of the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

18 And the fish that are in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink of the water of the river.

18 And the fish1710 that834 is in the river2975 shall die,4191 and the river2975 shall stink;887 and the Egyptians4714 shall loathe3811 to drink8354 of the water4325 of4480 the river.2975

20 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD had commanded them; and Aaron lifted up the staff which was in his hand and smote the waters of the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned into blood.

21 And the fish that were in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

22 And the magicians of Egypt did the same by their enchantments; but Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said.

22 And the magicians2748 of Egypt4714 did6213 so3651 with their enchantments:3909 and Pharaoh's6547 heart3820 was hardened,2388 neither3808 did he hearken8085 unto413 them; as834 the LORD3068 had said.1696

23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take to heart even this sign.

23 And Pharaoh6547 turned6437 and went935 into413 his house,1004 neither3808 did he set7896 his heart3820 to this2063 also.1571

24 And all the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.

24 And all3605 the Egyptians4714 digged2658 round about5439 the river2975 for water4325 to drink;8354 for3588 they could3201 not3808 drink8354 of the water4480 4325 of the river.2975

25 And seven days passed after the LORD had smitten the river.

25 And seven7651 days3117 were fulfilled,4390 after310 that the LORD3068 had smitten5221 853 the river.2975
