2 And Balak1111 did6213 as834 Balaam1109 had spoken;1696 and Balak1111 and Balaam1109 offered5927 on every altar4196 a bullock6499 and a ram.352

3 And Balaam1109 said559 unto Balak,1111 Stand3320 by5921 thy burnt offering,5930 and I will go:1980 peradventure194 the LORD3068 will come7136 to meet7125 me: and whatsoever1697 4100 he showeth7200 me I will tell5046 thee. And he went1980 to a high place.8205

4 And God430 met7136 413 Balaam:1109 and he said559 unto413 him, I have prepared6186 853 seven7651 altars,4196 and I have offered5927 upon every altar4196 a bullock6499 and a ram.352

5 And the LORD3068 put7760 a word1697 in Balaam's1109 mouth,6310 and said,559 Return7725 unto413 Balak,1111 and thus3541 thou shalt speak.1696

6 And he returned7725 unto413 him, and, lo,2009 he stood5324 by5921 his burnt sacrifice,5930 he,1931 and all3605 the princes8269 of Moab.4124

7 And he took up5375 his parable,4912 and said,559 Balak1111 the king4428 of Moab4124 hath brought5148 me from4480 Aram,758 out of the mountains4480 2042 of the east,6924 saying, Come,1980 curse779 me Jacob,3290 and come,1980 defy2194 Israel.3478

19 God410 is not3808 a man,376 that he should lie;3576 neither the son1121 of man,120 that he should repent:5162 hath he1931 said,559 and shall he not3808 do6213 it? or hath he spoken,1696 and shall he not3808 make it good?6965

20 Behold,2009 I have received3947 commandment to bless:1288 and he hath blessed;1288 and I cannot3808 reverse7725 it.

21 He hath not3808 beheld5027 iniquity205 in Jacob,3290 neither3808 hath he seen7200 perverseness5999 in Israel:3478 the LORD3068 his God430 is with5973 him, and the shout8643 of a king4428 is among them.

22 God410 brought them out3318 of Egypt;4480 4714 he hath as it were the strength8443 of a unicorn.7214

4 и там ему явился Господь. «Я приготовил семь алтарей, — сказал Валаам, — и на каждом алтаре заколол в жертву по быку и по барану».

5 Тогда Господь сказал Валааму, что ему говорить. «Возвратись к Валаку, — сказал Господь, — и скажи всё то, что Я вложил в твои уста».

6 Валаам возвратился к Валаку, когда тот всё ещё стоял у алтаря, и вместе с ним стояли и все вожди Моава.

7 Валаам сказал: «Валак, царь Моава, привёл меня сюда от восточных гор Арама, сказав: „Приди, прокляни для меня Иакова! Приди, прокляни израильский народ!”

8 Но Бог не против этого народа, потому и я тоже не могу проклясть его! Господь не пожелал, чтобы с этим народом случилось плохое, поэтому и я тоже не могу сделать этого.

9 Я вижу этот народ с вершины горы, смотрю на него с высоких холмов. Израильтяне живут отдельно от всех и не зависят от других народов.

10 Кто пересчитает народ Иакова? Их словно песчинок. Никто не сможет пересчитать даже четвёртой части израильского народа. Так дайте же мне умереть смертью праведника! Пусть моя кончина будет столь же счастливой, сколь счастлива их!»

11 И сказал Валак Валааму: «Что ты сделал со мной! Я привёл тебя сюда, чтобы ты проклял моих врагов, ты же благословил их!»

12 Валаам ответил: «Я должен говорить то, что мне повелел говорить Господь!»

13 Тогда Валак ему сказал: «Пойдём на другое место, с которого ты увидишь этот народ, но не всех, а только часть его. Прокляни их оттуда!»

14 Валак привёл Валаама на холмы Стражей, на вершину горы Фасга, построил там семь алтарей и принёс жертвы, заколов на каждом алтаре по быку и по барану.

15 Тогда Валаам сказал Валаку: «Постой здесь, у этого алтаря, а я пойду туда навстречу Богу».

16 Господь встретился с Валаамом и сказал ему, что говорить, а потом повелел Валааму возвратиться к Валаку.

17 Валаам возвратился к Валаку, который всё ещё стоял у алтаря вместе с вождями Моава. Увидев приближающегося Валаама, Валак спросил: «Что сказал Господь?»

18 Валаам ответил: «Встань, Валак, и слушай меня! Слушай меня, Валак, сын Сепфора!

19 Бог не человек, Он никогда не лжёт. Бог не человек — Его решения неизменны. Он делает, что скажет, и исполняет обещанное.

20 Господь повелел мне благословить их. Господь благословил их, и я не могу изменить этого.

21 Бог не увидел в народе Иакова зла. Он не увидел греха в израильском народе! Господь — Бог их, Он с ними! Великий Царь с ними!

22 Бог вывел этот народ из Египта, в них сила неукротимого быка.

23 Никакая сила не победит народ Иакова. Никакое колдовство не остановит израильский народ. И скажут люди об Иакове и израильском народе: „Вот что сделал Бог!”

24 Этот народ силён как лев, и сражается как лев. Лев не ляжет отдыхать, пока не пожрёт свою добычу, пока не напьётся крови своего врага!»

25 И сказал тогда Валак Валааму: «Ты не просил о благословении для этого народа, но не просил и о проклятии!»

26 «Не говорил ли я тебе, что могу делать только то, что Господь повелит мне!» — ответил Валаам.

27 Затем Валак сказал Валааму: «Тогда пойдём со мной на другое место, может быть, Господу будет угодно разрешить тебе проклясть их с другого места».

28 И вот Валак повёл Валаама на вершину горы Фегор, обращённой к пустыне.

29 «Построй здесь семь алтарей, — сказал Валаам, — а потом приготовь для алтарей семь быков и семь баранов».

30 Валак исполнил сказанное Валаамом и принёс в жертву на алтарях быков и баранов.
