Job

Chapter 42

1 Then Job347 answered6030 853 the LORD,3068 and said,559

2 I know3045 that3588 thou canst do3201 every3605 thing, and that no3808 thought4209 can be withheld1219 from4480 thee.

3 Who4310 is he2088 that hideth5956 counsel6098 without1097 knowledge?1847 therefore3651 have I uttered5046 that I understood995 not;3808 things too wonderful6381 for4480 me, which I knew3045 not.3808

4 Hear,8085 I beseech thee,4994 and I595 will speak:1696 I will demand7592 of thee, and declare3045 thou unto me.

5 I have heard8085 of thee by the hearing8088 of the ear:241 but now6258 mine eye5869 seeth7200 thee.

6 Wherefore5921 3651 I abhor3988 myself, and repent5162 in5921 dust6083 and ashes.665

7 And it was1961 so, that after310 the LORD3068 had spoken1696 853 these428 words1697 unto413 Job,347 the LORD3068 said559 to413 Eliphaz464 the Temanite,8489 My wrath639 is kindled2734 against thee, and against thy two8147 friends:7453 for3588 ye have not3808 spoken1696 of413 me the thing that is right,3559 as my servant5650 Job347 hath.

8 Therefore take3947 unto you now6258 seven7651 bullocks6499 and seven7651 rams,352 and go1980 to413 my servant5650 Job,347 and offer up5927 for1157 yourselves a burnt offering;5930 and my servant5650 Job347 shall pray6419 for5921 you: for3588 518 him6440 will I accept:5375 lest1115 I deal6213 with5973 you after your folly,5039 in that3588 ye have not3808 spoken1696 of413 me the thing which is right,3559 like my servant5650 Job.347

9 So Eliphaz464 the Temanite8489 and Bildad1085 the Shuhite7747 and Zophar6691 the Naamathite5284 went,1980 and did6213 according as834 the LORD3068 commanded1696 413 them: the LORD3068 also accepted5375 6440 853 Job.347

10 And the LORD3068 turned7725 853 the captivity7622 of Job,347 when he prayed6419 for1157 his friends:7453 also the LORD3068 gave3254 Job347 853 twice4932 as much as he had before.3605 834

11 Then came935 there unto413 him all3605 his brethren,251 and all3605 his sisters,269 and all3605 they that had been of his acquaintance3045 before,6440 and did eat398 bread3899 with5973 him in his house:1004 and they bemoaned5110 him, and comforted5162 him over5921 all3605 the evil7451 that834 the LORD3068 had brought935 upon5921 him: every man376 also gave5414 him a piece of money,7192 259 and every one376 an259 earring5141 of gold.2091

12 So the LORD3068 blessed1288 853 the latter end319 of Job347 more than his beginning:4480 7225 for he had1961 fourteen702 6240 thousand505 sheep,6629 and six8337 thousand505 camels,1581 and a thousand505 yoke6776 of oxen,1241 and a thousand505 she asses.860

13 He had1961 also seven7658 sons1121 and three7969 daughters.1323

14 And he called7121 the name8034 of the first,259 Jemima;3224 and the name8034 of the second,8145 Kezia;7103 and the name8034 of the third,7992 Keren-happuch.7163

15 And in all3605 the land776 were no3808 women802 found4672 so fair3303 as the daughters1323 of Job:347 and their father1 gave5414 them inheritance5159 among8432 their brethren.251

16 After310 this2063 lived2421 Job347 a hundred3967 and forty705 years,8141 and saw7200 853 his sons,1121 and853 his sons'1121 sons,1121 even four702 generations.1755

17 So Job347 died,4191 being old2205 and full7649 of days.3117

Job

Chapter 42

1 THEN Job answered the LORD, and said,

2 I know that thou canst do all these things, and that no purpose can be hid from thee.

3 Who am I to think that I can give counsel without knowledge? Therefore thou hast declared to me that I have uttered that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me which I did not know.

4 Hear me, I pray thee, and I will speak; I will ask thee, and declare thou to me;

5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees thee.

6 Therefore, I will keep silent, and repent in dust and ashes.

7 And it came to pass, after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends; for you have not spoken in my presence that which is right, as my servant Job has.

8 Now therefore take for yourselves seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you; for him will I accept, lest I deal contemptuously with you, for you have not spoken in my presence the thing which is right, as my servant Job has done.

9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the Lord had told them; and the LORD favored Job.

10 And the LORD restored to Job all that he had lost, when he prayed for his friends; also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 Then came there to him all his brothers and all his sisters and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house; for they had been in distress over him, and they comforted him for all the hardships that the LORD had brought upon him; and every man also gave him a ewe, and every one an earring of gold.

12 So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels and a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand she-asses.

13 He also had seven sons and three daughters.

14 And he named the first Jemima; and the name of the second was Kezia; and the name of the third, Karna-puch.

15 And in all the land were found no women as beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.

16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his sons and his son's sons, even four generations.

17 So Job died, being old and contented and full of days.
