Chapter 11

1 Moreover the spirit7307 lifted me up,5375 853 and brought935 me unto413 the east6931 gate8179 of the LORD's3068 house,1004 which looketh6437 eastward:6921 and behold2009 at the door6607 of the gate8179 five2568 and twenty6242 men;376 among8432 whom I saw7200 853 Jaazaniah2970 the son1121 of Azur,5809 and Pelatiah6410 the son1121 of Benaiah,1141 princes8269 of the people.5971

2 Then said559 he unto413 me, Son1121 of man,120 these428 are the men376 that devise2803 mischief,205 and give3289 wicked7451 counsel6098 in this2063 city: 5892

3 Which say,559 It is not3808 near;7138 let us build1129 houses:1004 this1931 city is the caldron,5518 and we587 be the flesh.1320

4 Therefore3651 prophesy5012 against5921 them, prophesy,5012 O son1121 of man.120

5 And the Spirit7307 of the LORD3068 fell5307 upon5921 me, and said559 unto413 me, Speak;559 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD;3068 Thus3651 have ye said,559 O house1004 of Israel:3478 for I589 know3045 the things that come4609 into your mind,7307 every one of them.

6 Ye have multiplied7235 your slain2491 in this2063 city,5892 and ye have filled4390 the streets2351 thereof with the slain.2491

7 Therefore3651 thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 Your slain2491 whom834 ye have laid7760 in the midst8432 of it, they1992 are the flesh,1320 and this1931 city is the caldron:5518 but I will bring you forth3318 853 out of the midst4480 8432 of it.

8 Ye have feared3372 the sword;2719 and I will bring935 a sword2719 upon5921 you, saith5002 the Lord136 GOD.3069

9 And I will bring3318 you out of the midst4480 8432 thereof, and deliver5414 you into the hands3027 of strangers,2114 and will execute6213 judgments8201 among you.

10 Ye shall fall5307 by the sword;2719 I will judge8199 you in5921 the border1366 of Israel;3478 and ye shall know3045 that3588 I589 am the LORD.3068

11 This1931 city shall not3808 be1961 your caldron,5518 neither shall ye859 be1961 the flesh1320 in the midst8432 thereof; but I will judge8199 you in413 the border1366 of Israel: 3478

12 And ye shall know3045 that3588 I589 am the LORD:3068 for834 ye have not3808 walked1980 in my statutes,2706 neither3808 executed6213 my judgments,4941 but have done6213 after the manners4941 of the heathen1471 that834 are round about5439 you.

13 And it came to pass,1961 when I prophesied,5012 that Pelatiah6410 the son1121 of Benaiah1141 died.4191 Then fell I down5307 upon5921 my face,6440 and cried2199 with a loud1419 voice,6963 and said,559 Ah162 Lord136 GOD!3069 wilt thou859 make6213 a full end3617 853 of the remnant7611 of Israel?3478

14 Again the word1697 of the LORD3068 came1961 unto413 me, saying,559

15 Son1121 of man,120 thy brethren,251 even thy brethren,251 the men376 of thy kindred,1353 and all3605 the house1004 of Israel3478 wholly,3605 are they unto whom834 the inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem3389 have said,559 Get you far7368 from4480 5921 the LORD:3068 unto us is this1931 land776 given5414 in possession.4181

16 Therefore3651 say,559 Thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 Although3588 I have cast them far off7368 among the heathen,1471 and although3588 I have scattered6327 them among the countries,776 yet will I be1961 to them as a little4592 sanctuary4720 in the countries776 where834 8033 they shall come.935

17 Therefore3651 say,559 Thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 I will even gather6908 you from4480 the people,5971 and assemble622 you out of4480 the countries776 where834 ye have been scattered,6327 and I will give5414 you853 the land127 of Israel.3478

18 And they shall come935 thither,8033 and they shall take away5493 853 all3605 the detestable things8251 thereof and all3605 the abominations8441 thereof from4480 thence.

19 And I will give5414 them one259 heart,3820 and I will put5414 a new2319 spirit7307 within7130 you; and I will take5493 the stony68 heart3820 out of their flesh,4480 1320 and will give5414 them a heart3820 of flesh: 1320

20 That4616 they may walk1980 in my statutes,2708 and keep8104 mine ordinances,4941 and do6213 them: 853 and they shall be1961 my people,5971 and I589 will be1961 their God.430

21 But as for them whose heart3820 walketh1980 after413 the heart3820 of their detestable things8251 and their abominations,8441 I will recompense5414 their way1870 upon their own heads,7218 saith5002 the Lord136 GOD.3069

22 Then did the cherubims3742 lift up5375 853 their wings,3671 and the wheels212 beside5980 them; and the glory3519 of the God430 of Israel3478 was over5921 them above.4480 4605

23 And the glory3519 of the LORD3068 went up5927 from4480 5921 the midst8432 of the city,5892 and stood5975 upon5921 the mountain2022 which834 is on the east side4480 6924 of the city.5892

24 Afterwards the spirit7307 took me up,5375 and brought935 me in a vision4758 by the Spirit7307 of God430 into Chaldea,3778 to413 them of the captivity.1473 So the vision4758 that834 I had seen7200 went up5927 from4480 5921 me.

25 Then I spoke1696 unto413 them of the captivity1473 853 all3605 the things1697 that834 the LORD3068 had showed7200 me.

1 MOREOVER the spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the house of the LORD, which looks eastward; and I beheld at the entrance of the gate twenty-five men; and I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

2 Then the LORD said to me, Son of man, these are the men who devise mischief and give wicked counsel in this city,

3 Saying, We have built houses in the midst of it; the city is the caldron, and we are the meat.

4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O Son of man.

5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and he said to me, Speak, Thus says the LORD God: Thus have you desired, O house of Israel; for I know the inclination of your thought.

6 You have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled its streets with the slain.

7 Therefore thus says the LORD God: Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the meat, and this city is the caldron; but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.

8 You have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, says the LORD God.

9 And I will bring you out of the midst of it and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and I will execute judgments upon you.

10 You shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and you shall know that I am the LORD.

11 This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall you be the meat in the midst of it; but I will judge you in the border of Israel;

12 And you shall know that I am the LORD; for you have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have followed after the ordinances of the Gentiles that are round about you.

13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah, LORD God! wilt thou make full end of the remnant of Israel?

14 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

15 Son of man, your brethren, your brethren, even your kindred, who are in your captivity, and all the house of Israel shall be annihilated, for the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said to them, Get you far from the LORD; to us is this land given for an inheritance.

16 Therefore say, Thus says the LORD God: I will cast them far off among the Gentiles, and I will scatter them among the countries, nevertheless I will be to them a little sanctuary in the countries where they have gone.

17 Therefore say, Thus says the LORD God: I will gather you from among the peoples and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

18 And they shall come thither, and shall remove from it all its idols and all its abominations.

19 And I will give them a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within them; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and I will give them a heart of flesh,

20 That they may walk in my commandments and keep my ordinances and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

21 But as for those whose heart followed after their images and abominations, I will recompense their evil ways upon their own heads, says the LORD God.

22 Then the cherubim lifted up their wings and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.

23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

24 Then the spirit lifted me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into the land of Chaldea to those of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen departed from me.

25 Then I spoke to those of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shown me.
