第17章

1 以法蓮山地有一個人名叫米迦。

2 他對母親說：「你那一千一百舍客勒銀子被人拿去，你因此咒詛，並且在我耳中［in mine ears］告訴了我，看哪，這銀子在我這裏，是我拿去了。」他母親說：「我兒啊，願耶和華賜福與你。」

3 米迦就把這一千一百舍客勒銀子還他母親。他母親說：「我分出這銀子來為你獻給耶和華，好雕刻一個像，鑄成一個像。現在我還是交給你。」

4 米迦將錢［money］還他母親，他母親將二百舍客勒銀子交給銀匠，雕刻一個像，鑄成一個像，安置在米迦的屋內。

5 這米迦有了眾神堂，又製造以弗得和家中的神像，分派他一個兒子作祭司。

6 當那些日子［In those days］，以色列中沒有王，各人行自己眼中看為正的事［did that which was right in his own eyes］。

7 有一個少年人從猶大族的伯．利恆．猶大出來［there was a young man out of Beth-lehem-judah of the family of Judah］，是［was a］利未人，他在那裏寄居。

8 從伯．利恆．猶大離城［departed out of the city from Beth-lehem-judah］，要找一個可住的地方。行路的時候，到了以法蓮山地，走到米迦的家。

9 米迦問他說：「你從哪裏來？」他回答說：「我是伯．利恆．猶大的利未人［I am a Levite of Beth-lehem-judah］，要找一個可住的地方。」

10 米迦說：「你可以住在我這裏，我以你為父、為祭司。我每年給你十舍客勒銀子，一套衣服和度日的食物。」利未人就進了他的家。

11 利未人情願與那人同住；那人看這少年人如自己的兒子一樣。

12 米迦分派這少年的利未人作祭司，他就住在米迦的家裏。

13 米迦說：「現在我知道耶和華必賜福與我，因我有一個利未人作祭司。」

Judges

Chapter 17

1 AND there was a man from mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.

2 And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver which were taken from you, which you swore about, and spoke of also in my ears, behold, it was I who took the silver. And his mother said, Blessed of the LORD is my son.

3 And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I have wholly consecrated the silver to the LORD from the hands of my son, to make a graven image and a molten image; now therefore restore it to me.

4 So he restored the money to his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver and gave it to the silversmith, who made it into a graven image and a molten image; and they were kept in the house of Micah.

5 And the man Micah had a house of gods, and he made an ephod and a teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.

6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

7 Now there was a young man from Bethlehem of Judah, whose name was Levi, and he sojourned there.

8 And the man had left the city of Beth-lehem of Judah to dwell wherever he could find a place; and he came to mount Ephraim, to the house of Micah, to obtain provisions for his journey.

9 And Micah said to him, Whence do you come? And he replied, I am a Levite of Beth-lehem of Judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.

10 And Micah said to him, Dwell with me, and be to me as a father and a priest, and I will give you ten shekels of silver yearly, and your clothes and your food. So the Levite went in.

11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was to him as one of his sons.

12 And Micah consecrated the Levite; and he became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.

13 Then said Micah, Now I know that the LORD will do me good, seeing that the Levite has become my priest.

7 Now there was a young man from Bethlehem of Judah, whose name was Levi, and he sojourned there.

8 And the man had left the city of Beth-lehem of Judah to dwell wherever he could find a place; and he came to mount Ephraim, to the house of Micah, to obtain provisions for his journey.

11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was to him as one of his sons.

12 米迦分派這少年的利未人作祭司，他就住在米迦的家裏。

12 And Micah consecrated the Levite; and he became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.

13 米迦說：「現在我知道耶和華必賜福與我，因我有一個利未人作祭司。」

13 Then said Micah, Now I know that the LORD will do me good, seeing that the Levite has become my priest.
