提摩太前書

第6章

1 夫旣服役爲奴、則務敬厥主、免上帝名與教見譏於人、

2 有宗教爲爾主者、勿以同教兄弟而生藐視、必服事維勤、以其宗教可愛、宜獲爾益、此當勸誨焉、

3 有人傳異教、背吾主耶穌基督正理、棄敬虔之至道、

4 無知而自衒、辯論是務、言啓爭端、媢嫉爭競、訕謗惡意、由此而生、

5 其人壞心術、滅眞理、惟尚虛談、謂敬虔足以邀利、如此者、爾當遠之、

6 然敬虔知足、則利莫大焉、

7 我出世無所制攜來、逝世無所攜去、此理昭然、

8 衣食足、當知止、

9 苟圖富有、陷誘惑、罹羅網、溺於無理有害之欲、終必沉淪、

10 好利爲萬惡根、有人慕之、則背於道、以多苦自刺、

11 惟爾事上帝之人、在所必戒、而從義、虔、信、仁、柔、忍、

12 爲主道竭力者、善也、爾當務之、俾克受永生、特此故爾奉召、當衆證者前、自明其志、

13 生萬有者上帝也、善自訴於本丟彼拉多前者、基督耶穌也、於上帝曁基督前、余命爾、

14 當守此誡、無玷缺、無可責、迨吾主耶穌基督昭著、

15 屆期、將示基督昭著者、獨一有福有權、諸君之君、諸主之主、

16 惟彼永生、處於光明、衆不能至、人所未見、亦不得見、願以尊榮權力稱之、永世靡曁、

17 當諭此世之富者、心勿傲、無定之財勿恃、惟賴永生上帝、洪賜我衆、百物以享之、

18 故命富者爲善、累積美事、喜以賙濟、

19 樂與衆共、夫如是、厚築善基、預備厥後、克受永生、

20 提摩太乎、當守所托之命、棄妄論浮詞、偽爲智慧之辯、

21 若以小智爲智、是背信主之道、惟願爾得恩焉。

Chapter 6

2 And they that have2192 believing4103 masters,1203 let them not despise2706 them, because3754 they are brothers;80 but rather3123 do1398 them service,1398 because3754 they are faithful4103 and beloved,27 partakers482 of the benefit.2108 These5023 things teach1321 and exhort.3870

3 If1487 any1536 man teach2085 otherwise,2085 and consent4334 not to wholesome5198 words,3056 even the words of our Lord2962 Jesus2424 Christ,5547 and to the doctrine1319 which is according2596 to godliness;2150

4 He is proud,5187 knowing1987 nothing,3367 but doting3552 about4012 questions2214 and strifes3055 of words,3055 whereof1537 3739 comes1096 envy,5355 strife,2054 railings,988 evil4190 surmisings,5283

5 Perverse3859 disputings3859 of men444 of corrupt1311 minds,3563 and destitute650 of the truth,225 supposing3543 that gain4200 is godliness:2150 from such5108 withdraw868 yourself.

6 But godliness2150 with contentment841 is great3173 gain.4200

7 For we brought1533 nothing3762 into1519 this3588 world,2889 and it is certain1212 we can1410 carry1627 nothing3761 5100 out.

8 And having2192 food1305 and raiment4629 let us be therewith5125 content.714

9 But they that will1014 be rich4147 fall into1519 temptation3986 and a snare,3803 and into1519 many4183 foolish453 and hurtful983 lusts,1939 which3748 drown1036 men444 in destruction3639 and perdition.684

10 For the love5365 of money5365 is the root4491 of all3956 evil:2556 which3739 while some5100 coveted3713 after, they have erred635 from the faith,4102 and pierced4044 themselves1438 through4044 with many4183 sorrows.3601

11 But you, O man444 of God,2316 flee5343 these5023 things; and follow1377 after righteousness,1343 godliness,2150 faith,4102 love,26 patience,5281 meekness.4236

12 Fight75 the good2570 fight73 of faith,4102 lay1949 hold1949 on1949 eternal166 life,2222 whereunto1519 3739 you are also2532 called,2564 and have professed3670 a good2570 profession3671 before1799 many4183 witnesses.3144

13 I give you charge3853 in the sight1799 of God,2316 who3588 vivifies2227 all3956 things, and before Christ5547 Jesus,2424 who3588 before1909 Pontius4194 Pilate4091 witnessed3140 a good2570 confession;3671

14 That you keep5083 this3588 commandment1785 without784 spot,784 unrebukable,423 until3360 the appearing2015 of our Lord2962 Jesus2424 Christ:5547

15 Which3739 in his times5550 he shall show,1166 who3588 is the blessed3107 and only3441 Potentate,1413 the King935 of kings,936 and Lord2962 of lords;2961

16 Who3588 only3441 has2192 immortality,110 dwelling3611 in the light5457 which3739 no3762 man can approach676 to; whom3739 no3762 man444 has seen,1492 nor3761 can1410 see:1492 to whom3739 be honor5092 and power2904 everlasting.166 Amen.281
