Job

Chapter 10

1 MY soul is weary of my life; I have reasoned in my judgment; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

2 I will say to God. Do not condemn me; show me why thou dost contend with me.

3 Is it not enough to thee that thou shouldst oppress, that thou shouldst despise the work of thy hands, and regard the counsel of the wicked?

4 Hast thou eyes of flesh? Or seest thou as a man sees?

5 Are thy days as the days of men? Are thy years as man's days?

6 That thou enquirest after my iniquity, and searchest after my sins?

7 Thou knowest that I am innocent; and there is none that can deliver himself out of thy hands.

8 Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: and afterward thou wishest to condemn me, and to destroy me.

9 Remember that thou hast made me as clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?

10 Thou hast churned me as milk, and curdled me as cheese.

11 Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast strengthened me with bones and sinews.

12 Thou hast granted me life and peace, and thy commandments have preserved my spirit.

13 And these things hast thou hid in thy heart; I know that this is in thy mind.

14 if I sin, then thou dost watch me, and thou dost not acquit me from my iniquity.

15 If I be wicked, woe is me! and if I be righteous, still I cannot lift up my head. I have enough of reproach; I have seen my affliction.

16 And if I exalt myself, thou dost hunt me like a lion, and then thou dost turn and show thyself gigantic over me.

17 Thou hast set thy armor against me, and increasest thy indignation toward me. Thou dost array one host after another against me.

18 Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Would that I had died, and no eye had seen me!

19 I should have been as though I had not lived; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.

20 The days of my life are few; let me alone, that I may be quiet and rest a little

21 Before I go from whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death.

22 A land of loneliness and deep darkness, and of the shadow of death, without any order or time; wearisome like a deep pit.

Chapter 10

1 My soul5315 is weary5354 of my life;2416 I will leave5800 my complaint7879 on myself; I will speak1696 in the bitterness4751 of my soul.5315

2 I will say559 to God,433 Do not condemn7561 me; show3045 me why5921 4100 you contend7378 with me.

3 Is it good2896 to you that you should oppress,6231 that you should despise3988 the work3018 of your hands,3709 and shine3313 on the counsel6098 of the wicked?7563

4 Have you eyes5869 of flesh?1320 or see7200 you as man582 sees?7200

5 Are your days3117 as the days3117 of man?582 are your years8141 as man's1397 days,3117

6 That you enquire1245 after my iniquity,5771 and search1875 after my sin?2403

7 You know1847 that I am not wicked;7561 and there is none369 that can deliver5337 out of your hand.3027

8 Your hands3027 have made6087 me and fashioned6213 me together3162 round5439 about; yet you do destroy1104 me.

9 Remember,2142 I beseech4994 you, that you have made6213 me as the clay;2563 and will you bring7725 me into413 dust6083 again?7725

10 Have you not poured5413 me out as milk,2461 and curdled7087 me like cheese?1385

11 You have clothed3847 me with skin5785 and flesh,1320 and have fenced7753 me with bones6106 and sinews.1517

12 You have granted6213 me life2416 and favor,2617 and your visitation6486 has preserved8104 my spirit.7307

13 And these428 things have you hid6845 in your heart:3824 I know3045 that this2063 is with you.

14 If518 I sin,2398 then you mark8104 me, and you will not acquit5352 me from my iniquity.5771

15 If518 I be wicked,7561 woe480 to me; and if518 I be righteous,6663 yet will I not lift5375 up my head.7218 I am full7646 of confusion;7036 therefore see7200 you my affliction;6040

16 For it increases.1342 You hunt6679 me as a fierce7826 lion:7826 and again7725 you show yourself marvelous6381 on me.

17 You renew2318 your witnesses5707 against5048 me, and increase7235 your indignation3708 on me; changes2487 and war6635 are against5973 me.

18 Why4100 then have you brought3318 me forth3318 out of the womb?7358 Oh that I had given1478 up the ghost,1478 and no3808 eye5869 had seen7200 me!

19 I should have been1961 as though I had not been;1961 I should have been carried2986 from the womb990 to the grave.6913

20 Are not my days3117 few?4592 cease2308 then, and let me alone,7896 that I may take comfort1082 a little,4592

21 Before2962 I go3212 from where I shall not return,7725 even to the land776 of darkness2822 and the shadow6757 of death;6757

22 A land776 of darkness,5890 as darkness652 itself; and of the shadow6757 of death,6757 without3808 any order,5468 and where the light3313 is as darkness.652
