Chapter 38

1 AND the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

2 Son of man, set your face against China, and against the land of Mongolia, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him and say,

3 Thus says the LORD God: Behold, I am against you, O China, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

4 I will gather your people together and put a bridle in your jaws, and I will bring you forth out of your country, both you and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in armor, a great host with spears and shields, all of them handling swords:

5 Persians, Ethiopians, and Lybians with them, all of them with shields and helmets.

6 Gomar and all her army, the house of Togarmah, and the uttermost parts of the north with all their hosts, and many other people who are with you.

7 Prepare yourself, you and all the people that are assembled with you, and be a protection to them.

8 You have been commanded in former days, and in the later years you shall come against the mountains of Israel and against the land which is at peace and free from the sword, whose people were gathered from many nations, and now they all dwell safely in it.

9 And you shall come up like a storm and like a cloud which covers the land, you and all your army and many people who are with you.

10 Thus says the LORD God: It shall come to pass that in that very day thoughts shall come into your mind and you shall think an evil thought;

11 And you shall say, I will go up against a prosperous land, I will go against those who dwell in tranquillity, without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,

12 To take captives and to take a spoil; to turn your hand against the desolate places that are now inhabited and against the people who were gathered together out of the nations, who have gotten cattle and goods, who dwell in the beauty of the land.

13 Sheba and Deran and the merchants of Tarshish and all its villages shall say to you, Are you come to carry off captives and to take a spoil? Have you mobilized your host to take silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, and to take a great spoil?

14 Therefore, Son of man, prophesy and say to China, Thus says the LORD God: On that day when my people Israel shall dwell in tranquillity, you shall know it.

15 And you shall come from your place out of the north parts, you, and many people with you, all of them riding on horses, a great host and a mighty army;

16 And you shall come up against my people Israel, like a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring you against my land, and the nations will know me, when I shall be sanctified through your defeat.

17 Thus says the LORD God: You are he of whom I have spoken in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days and in those years that I would bring you against them.

18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when China shall come against the land of Israel, says the LORD God, that my anger shall be consumed in my fury and zeal.

19 For in the fire of my wrath have I spoken; surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;

20 So that even the fish of the sea and the fowls of the air and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep upon the earth and all the men that are upon the face of the earth shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down and the towers shall fall and every wall shall tumble to the ground.

21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, says the LORD God; every man's sword shall be against his brother.

22 And I will judge him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him and upon his princes and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

23 Thus will I magnify myself and sanctify myself in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

2 Du Menschenkind120, wende dich gegen Gog1463, der im Lande6440 Magog4031 ist7760 und1121 der oberste5387 Fürst7218 ist in Mesech4902 und776 Thubal8422, und weissage5012 von ihm

3 und sprich559: So spricht der HErr136 HErr3069: Siehe, ich will an dich, Gog, der du559 der oberste5387 Fürst7218 bist aus den Herren in Mesech4902 und Thubal8422.

4 Siehe, ich8610 will7725 dich herumlenken und will dir einen Zaum2397 ins Maul3895 legen5414 und will dich herausführen mit all deinem Heer2428, Roß5483 und Mann6571, die alle wohlgekleidet sind3847, und ist ihrer ein großer7227 Haufe6951, die alle Tartschen4043 und Schild6793 und Schwert2719 führen3318.

5 Du führest mit dir Perser6539, Mohren3568 und Libyer6316, die alle Schild4043 und Helme3553 führen,

6 dazu Gomer1586 und all sein Heer102 samt dem Hause1004 Thogarma8425, so gegen3411 Mitternacht6828 liegt, mit all seinem Heer102; ja, du führest ein groß7227 Volk5971 mit dir.

7 Wohlan3559, rüste dich3559 wohl, du und alle deine Haufen6951, so bei dir sind6950; und sei du ihr Hauptmann4929!

8 Nach langer Zeit3117 sollst du heimgesucht6485 werden6908. Zur letzten319 Zeit wirst du kommen3318 in8141 das Land776, das vom Schwert2719 wiedergebracht7725 und2723 aus vielen7227 Völkern5971 zusammenkommen ist935, nämlich auf die Berge2022 Israels3478, welche8548 lange7227 Zeit wüst gewesen sind und nun ausgeführet aus vielen Völkern5971 und alle sicher983 wohnen3427.

9 Du wirst heraufziehen5927 und daherkommen mit großem7227 Ungestüm7722 und wirst sein935 wie eine Wolke6051, das Land776 zu bedecken3680, du und all dein Heer102 und das große Volk5971 mit dir.

10 So spricht der HErr136 HErr3069: Zu der Zeit3117 wirst du559 dir solches1697 vornehmen5927 und4284 wirst‘s böse7451 im Sinn3824 haben2803

11 und gedenken: Ich559 will935 das Land776 ohne Mauern6519 überfallen und über die kommen5927, so still8252 und sicher983 wohnen3427, als die alle ohne Mauern2346 dasitzen und haben3427 weder Riegel1280 noch Tor,

12 auf daß du rauben7997 und962 plündern mögest und957 deine Hand3027 lassen gehen über die3427 Verstörten, so wieder7725 bewohnet sind, und2723 über das776 Volk5971, so aus den Heiden1471 zusammengerafft ist7998 und6213 sich3427 in die Nahrung und Güter4735 geschickt hat622 und mitten2872 im Lande wohnet.

13 Das Reicharabien7614, Dedan1719 und957 die Kaufleute5503 auf5375 dem Meer8659 und alle Gewaltigen3715, die daselbst sind935, werden7998 zu dir sagen559: Ich meine ja, du seiest recht kommen zu rauben962, und hast deine Haufen6951 versammelt6950 zu plündern7998, auf daß du wegnehmest Silber3701 und Gold2091 und sammelst Vieh4735 und Güter7075 und großen1419 Raub7997 treibest.

14 Darum so weissage5012, du559 Menschenkind120, und1121 sprich zu Gog1463: So spricht der HErr136 HErr3069: Ist‘s nicht also, daß du559 wirst merken3045, wenn3117 mein Volk5971 Israel3478 sicher983 wohnen3427 wird?

15 So7227 wirst du kommen935 aus deinem Ort4725, nämlich von den Enden3411 gegen Mitternacht6828, du und ein groß7227 Volk5971 mit dir, alle zu7392 Roß5483, ein großer1419 Haufe6951 und ein mächtiges Heer2428.

16 Und wirst heraufziehen über mein Volk5971 Israel3478 wie eine Wolke6051, das Land776 zu bedecken3680. Solches wird zur letzten319 Zeit3117 geschehen. Ich will935 dich aber darum in mein Land776 kommen lassen, auf5927 daß die Heiden1471 mich erkennen3045, wie ich an dir, o Gog1463, geheiliget werde6942 vor ihren Augen5869.

17 So spricht der HErr136 HErr3069: Du bist‘s, von3027 dem6931 ich vorzeiten gesagt559 habe1696 durch935 meine Diener5650, die Propheten5030 in8141 Israel3478, die zur selbigen Zeit3117 weissagten5012, daß3117 ich dich über sie kommen lassen wollte.

18 Und es wird geschehen zur Zeit3117, wenn3117 Gog1463 kommen935 wird über das Land127 Israel3478, spricht5002 der HErr136 HErr3069, wird heraufziehen5927 mein Zorn639 in meinem Grimm2534.

19 Und ich rede solches in meinem Eifer7068 und im Feuer784 meines Zorns5678. Denn zur selbigen Zeit3117 wird1696 groß1419 Zittern7494 sein im Lande127 Israel3478,

20 daß vor meinem Angesicht zittern sollen7493 die Fische1709 im Meer3220, die Vögel5775 unter dem Himmel8064, das776 Vieh auf6440 dem Felde7704 und alles, was sich5307 regt7430 und wegt auf6440 dem Lande127, und alle2416 Menschen120, so auf der Erde127 sind; und sollen die Berge2022 umgekehret werden2040, und die Wände und alle Mauern2346 zu Boden fallen5307.

21 Ich7121 will aber über ihn rufen das Schwert2719 auf allen meinen Bergen2022, spricht5002 der HErr136 HErr3069, daß eines jeglichen376 Schwert2719 soll wider den andern251 sein.

22 Und68 ich will ihn richten8199 mit Pestilenz1698 und Blut1818 und will regnen4305 lassen Platzregen1653 mit Schloßen, Feuer784 und Schwefel1614 über ihn und sein Heer102 und über das große7227 Volk5971, das mit ihm ist.

23 Also will ich3045 denn herrlich, heilig und bekannt werden1431 vor5869 vielen7227 Heiden1471, daß sie6942 erfahren3045 sollen, daß ich der HErr3068 bin.

21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, says the LORD God; every man's sword shall be against his brother.

21 Ich7121 will aber über ihn rufen das Schwert2719 auf allen meinen Bergen2022, spricht5002 der HErr136 HErr3069, daß eines jeglichen376 Schwert2719 soll wider den andern251 sein.
