2 Let the children1121 of Israel3478 also keep6213 853 the passover6453 at his appointed season.4150

3 In the fourteenth702 6240 day3117 of this2088 month,2320 at996 even,6153 ye shall keep6213 it in his appointed season:4150 according to all3605 the rites2708 of it, and according to all3605 the ceremonies4941 thereof, shall ye keep6213 it.

4 And Moses4872 spoke1696 unto413 the children1121 of Israel,3478 that they should keep6213 the passover.6453

5 And they kept6213 853 the passover6453 on the fourteenth702 6240 day3117 of the first7223 month2320 at996 even6153 in the wilderness4057 of Sinai:5514 according to all3605 that834 the LORD3068 commanded6680 853 Moses,4872 so3651 did6213 the children1121 of Israel.3478

6 And there were1961 certain men,376 who834 were1961 defiled2931 by the dead body5315 of a man,120 that they could3201 not3808 keep6213 the passover6453 on that1931 day:3117 and they came7126 before6440 Moses4872 and before6440 Aaron175 on that1931 day: 3117

7 And those1992 men376 said559 unto413 him, We587 are defiled2931 by the dead body5315 of a man:120 wherefore4100 are we kept back,1639 that we may not1115 offer7126 853 an offering7133 of the LORD3068 in his appointed season4150 among8432 the children1121 of Israel?3478

8 And Moses4872 said559 unto413 them, Stand still,5975 and I will hear8085 what4100 the LORD3068 will command6680 concerning you.

9 And the LORD3068 spoke1696 unto413 Moses,4872 saying,559

10 Speak1696 unto413 the children1121 of Israel,3478 saying,559 If3588 any man376 376 of you or176 of your posterity1755 shall be1961 unclean2931 by reason of a dead body,5315 or176 be in a journey1870 afar off,7350 yet he shall keep6213 the passover6453 unto the LORD.3068

11 The fourteenth702 6240 day3117 of the second8145 month2320 at996 even6153 they shall keep6213 it, and eat398 it with5921 unleavened bread4682 and bitter4844 herbs.

12 They shall leave7604 none3808 of4480 it unto5704 the morning,1242 nor3808 break7665 any bone6106 of it: according to all3605 the ordinances2708 of the passover6453 they shall keep6213 it.

13 But the man376 that834 is clean,2889 and is1961 not3808 in a journey,1870 and forbeareth2308 to keep6213 the passover,6453 even the same1931 soul5315 shall be cut off3772 from among his people:4480 5971 because3588 he brought7126 not3808 the offering7133 of the LORD3068 in his appointed season,4150 that1931 man376 shall bear5375 his sin.2399

14 And if3588 a stranger1616 shall sojourn1481 among854 you, and will keep6213 the passover6453 unto the LORD;3068 according to the ordinance2708 of the passover,6453 and according to the manner4941 thereof, so3651 shall he do:6213 ye shall have1961 one259 ordinance,2708 both for the stranger,1616 and for him that was born249 in the land.776

15 And on the day3117 that853 the tabernacle4908 was reared up6965 the cloud6051 covered3680 853 the tabernacle,4908 namely, the tent168 of the testimony:5715 and at even6153 there was1961 upon5921 the tabernacle4908 as it were the appearance4758 of fire,784 until5704 the morning.1242

16 So3651 it was1961 always:8548 the cloud6051 covered3680 it by day, and the appearance4758 of fire784 by night.3915

17 And when6310 the cloud6051 was taken up5927 from4480 5921 the tabernacle,168 then after310 that3651 the children1121 of Israel3478 journeyed:5265 and in the place4725 where834 the cloud6051 abode,7931 there8033 the children1121 of Israel3478 pitched their tents.2583

18 At5921 the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 the children1121 of Israel3478 journeyed,5265 and at5921 the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 they pitched:2583 as long as3605 3117 834 the cloud6051 abode7931 upon5921 the tabernacle4908 they rested in their tents.2583

19 And when the cloud6051 tarried long748 upon5921 the tabernacle4908 many7227 days,3117 then the children1121 of Israel3478 kept8104 853 the charge4931 of the LORD,3068 and journeyed5265 not.3808

20 And so it was,3426 when834 the cloud6051 was1961 a few4557 days3117 upon5921 the tabernacle;4908 according to5921 the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 they abode in their tents,2583 and according to5921 the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 they journeyed.5265

21 And so it was,3426 when834 the cloud6051 abode1961 from even4480 6153 unto5704 the morning,1242 and that the cloud6051 was taken up5927 in the morning,1242 then they journeyed:5265 whether176 it was by day3119 or by night3915 that the cloud6051 was taken up,5927 they journeyed.5265

22 Or176 whether it were two days,3117 or176 a month,2320 or176 a year,3117 that the cloud6051 tarried748 upon5921 the tabernacle,4908 remaining7931 thereon,5921 the children1121 of Israel3478 abode in their tents,2583 and journeyed5265 not:3808 but when it was taken up,5927 they journeyed.5265

23 At5921 the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 they rested in the tents,2583 and at5921 the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 they journeyed:5265 they kept8104 853 the charge4931 of the LORD,3068 at5921 the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 by the hand3027 of Moses.4872

Chapter 9

1 THE LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai in the first month of the second year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

2 Let the children of Israel keep the passover at its appointed time.

3 On the fourteenth day of this month, in the evening, you shall keep it at its appointed time; according to all its rites, and according to all its ceremonies, shall you keep it.

4 And Moses told the children of Israel that they should keep the passover.

5 And they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month, at evening, in the wilderness of Sinai; according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.

6 And there were certain men who were defiled by touching the dead body of a man so that they could not keep the passover on that day; and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day.

7 And those men said unto them, We are defiled by touching the dead body of a man; why are we kept back from offering the offering of the LORD at the appointed time among the children of Israel?

8 And Moses said to them, Stay where you are, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you.

9 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

10 Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by touching a dead body, or is on a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover to the LORD.

11 On the fourteenth day of the second month at the evening they shall keep it, and shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

12 They shall leave none of it to the morning, nor break any bone of it; according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it.

13 But the man who is clean, and is not on a journey, and yet fails to keep the passover, at its appointed time, that person shall be cut off from among his people; because he brought not the offering of the LORD at its appointed time, that man shall suffer for his sin.

14 And if a proselyte shall sojourn among you and will keep the passover to the LORD, according to the ordinance of the passover and according to its statutes, so shall he do; you shall have one ordinance, both for the proselyte and for the native of the land.

15 And on the day that the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered the tabernacle of the congregation; in front of the door of the tent of the testimony at evening there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning.

16 So it was always: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night;

17 And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, after that the children of Israel journeyed and at the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel encamped.

18 At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they encamped; all the days that the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they remained in their tents.

19 And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD and journeyed not.

20 Sometimes the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; then according to the commandment of the LORD they remained in their tents, and according to the commandment of the LORD they journeyed.

21 And sometimes the cloud was upon the tabernacle from evening to morning; and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed; whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.

22 And whether it was a few days or months or a year, as long as the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, resting thereon, the children of Israel remained in their tents and journeyed not; but when the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.

23 At the commandment of the LORD they encamped, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed; they kept the ordinances of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
