2 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 Learn3925 not408 the way1870 of the heathen,1471 and be not408 dismayed2865 at the signs4480 226 of heaven;8064 for3588 the heathen1471 are dismayed2865 at them.4480 1992

2 So spricht559 der HErr3068: Ihr sollt nicht2865 der Heiden1471 Weise1870 lernen3925 und sollt euch nicht2865 fürchten vor den Zeichen226 des Himmels8064, wie die1992 Heiden1471 sich fürchten:

3 For3588 the customs2708 of the people5971 are vain:1892 for3588 one cutteth3772 a tree6086 out of the forest,4480 3293 the work4639 of the hands3027 of the workman,2796 with the axe.4621

3 Denn der Heiden Götter4639 sind lauter nichts1892. Sie5971 hauen im Lande einen Baum6086, und2708 der Werkmeister2796 macht3772 sie3027 mit dem Beil4621
|

4 They deck3302 it with silver3701 and with gold;2091 they fasten2388 it with nails4548 and with hammers,4717 that it move6328 not.3808

4 und schmückt sie3302 mit Silber3701 und Gold2091 und heftet sie2388 mit Nägeln4548 und Hämmern4717, daß sie nicht umfallen6328.

5 They1992 are upright4749 as the palm tree,8560 but speak1696 not:3808 they must needs be borne,5375 5375 because3588 they cannot3808 go.6805 Be not408 afraid3372 of4480 them; for3588 they cannot3808 do evil,7489 neither369 also1571 is it in854 them to do good.3190

5 Es sind ja nichts denn Säulen8560 überzogen. Sie können nicht5375 reden1696, so muß man sie auch tragen5375, denn sie können nicht gehen6805. Darum sollt ihr euch3372 nicht vor ihnen fürchten, denn sie können weder helfen noch Schaden7489 tun3190.

6 Forasmuch as there is none4480 369 like unto thee,3644 O LORD;3068 thou859 art great,1419 and thy name8034 is great1419 in might.1369

6 Aber dir, HErr3068, ist niemand gleich; du bist groß1419 und dein Name8034 ist groß1419 und kannst es mit der Tat beweisen1369.

7 Who4310 would not3808 fear3372 thee, O King4428 of nations?1471 for3588 to thee doth it appertain:2969 forasmuch3588 as among all3605 the wise2450 men of the nations,1471 and in all3605 their kingdoms,4438 there is none4480 369 like unto thee.3644

7 Wer sollte dich nicht fürchten3372, du König4428 der Heiden1471? Dir sollte man ja gehorchen2969; denn es ist unter allen Weisen2450 der Heiden1471 und in allen Königreichen4438 deinesgleichen nicht.

8 But they are altogether259 brutish1197 and foolish:3688 the stock6086 is a doctrine4148 of vanities.1892
|
8 Sie sind allzumal Narren1197 und Toren3688; denn ein259 Holz6086 muß ja ein nichtiger1892 Gottesdienst4148 sein.

9 Silver3701 spread into plates7554 is brought935 from Tarshish,4480 8659 and gold2091 from Uphaz,4480 210 the work4639 of the workman,2796 and of the hands3027 of the founder:6884 blue8504 and purple713 is their clothing:3830 they are all3605 the work4639 of cunning2450 men.

9 Silbern3701 Blech7554 bringt man auf dem Meer8659 her, Gold2091 aus Uphas210, durch935 den Meister2796 und4639 Goldschmied6884 zugerichtet; gelbe Seide und Purpur713 zeucht man ihm an3027, und ist alles der Weisen2450 Werk4639.

10 But the LORD3068 is the true571 God,430 he1931 is the living2416 God,430 and an everlasting5769 king:4428 at his wrath4480 7110 the earth776 shall tremble,7493 and the nations1471 shall not3808 be able to abide3557 his indignation.2195

10 Aber der HErr3068 ist571 ein rechter GOtt430, ein lebendiger2416 GOtt430, ein ewiger5769 König4428. Vor seinem Zorn7110 bebet die Erde776, und die Heiden1471 können sein Dräuen nicht ertragen3557.

11 Thus1836 shall ye say560 unto them, The gods426 that1768 have not3809 made5648 the heavens8065 and the earth,778 even they shall perish7 from the earth,4481 772 and from4481 under8460 these429 heavens.8065
|
11 So1836 sprechet nun zu ihnen also560: Die Götter426, so den Himmel8065 und Erde778 nicht3809 gemacht haben5648, müssen vertilget werden7 von der Erde und unter8460 dem429 Himmel8065.

12 He hath made6213 the earth776 by his power,3581 he hath established3559 the world8398 by his wisdom,2451 and hath stretched out5186 the heavens8064 by his discretion.8394
|
12 Er aber hat3559 die Erde776 durch seine Kraft3581 gemacht6213 und den Weltkreis8398 bereitet durch seine Weisheit2451 und den Himmel8064 ausgebreitet5186 durch seinen Verstand8394.

13 When he uttereth5414 his voice,6963 there is a multitude1995 of waters4325 in the heavens,8064 and he causeth the vapors5387 to ascend5927 from the ends4480 7097 of the earth;776 he maketh6213 lightnings1300 with rain,4306 and bringeth forth3318 the wind7307 out of his treasures.4480 214

13 Wenn er5414 donnert, so ist des Wassers4325 die Menge1995 unter dem Himmel8064, und6213 zeucht die Nebel5387 auf6963 vom Ende7097 der Erde776; er macht die Blitze1300 im Regen4306 und läßt den Wind7307 kommen5927 aus3318 heimlichen Orten.

14 Every3605 man120 is brutish1197 in his knowledge:4480 1847 every3605 founder6884 is confounded3001 by the graven image:4480 6459 for3588 his molten image5262 is falsehood,8267 and there is no3808 breath7307 in them.

14 Alle Menschen120 sind Narren1197 mit ihrer Kunst1847, und7307 alle Goldschmiede6884 stehen mit Schanden3001 mit ihren Bildern6459; denn ihre Götzen5262 sind Trügerei8267 und haben kein Leben.

15 They1992 are vanity,1892 and the work4639 of errors:8595 in the time6256 of their visitation6486 they shall perish.6

15 Es ist eitel nichts1892 und6256 ein verführerisch Werk4639; sie müssen umkommen6, wenn sie heimgesucht werden6486.

|
16 The portion2506 of Jacob3290 is not3808 like them:428 for3588 he1931 is the former3335 of all3605 things; and Israel3478 is the rod7626 of his inheritance:5159 The LORD3068 of hosts6635 is his name.8034
|
16 Aber also ist7626 der nicht, der Jakobs3290 Schatz ist; sondern er ist‘s, der alles geschaffen hat3335, und2506 Israel3478 ist sein Erbteil5159. Er heißt8034 HErr3068 Zebaoth6635.

17 Gather up622 thy wares3666 out of the land,4480 776 O inhabitant3427 of the fortress.4693
|
17 Tu dein Gewerbe weg622 aus dem Lande776, die du wohnest in der festen Stadt3427!
|
|
18 For3588 thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 Behold,2009 I will sling out7049 853 the inhabitants3427 of the land776 at this2063 once,6471 and will distress6887 them, that4616 they may find4672 it so.

18 Denn so spricht der HErr3068: Siehe, ich will die Einwohner3427 des Landes776 auf diesmal6471 verschleudern und will sie559 ängsten6887, daß sie es fühlen sollen4672.

19 Woe188 is me for5921 my hurt!7667 my wound4347 is grievous:2470 but I589 said,559 Truly389 this2088 is a grief,2483 and I must bear5375 it.
|
19 Ach188, meines Jammers und Herzeleids! Ich5375 denke aber389: Es ist7667 meine Plage4347, ich muß sie559 leiden.

20 My tabernacle168 is spoiled,7703 and all3605 my cords4340 are broken:5423 my children1121 are gone forth3318 of me, and they are not:369 there is none369 to stretch forth5186 my tent168 any more,5750 and to set up6965 my curtains.3407

20 Meine Hütte168 ist zerstöret, und3318 alle meine Seile4340 sind7703 zerrissen5423. Meine Kinder1121 sind weg und nicht mehr vorhanden. Niemand richtet meine Hütte168 wieder auf5186, und mein Gezelt3407 schlägt niemand wieder auf6965.

21 For3588 the pastors7462 are become brutish,1197 and have not3808 sought1875 the LORD:3068 therefore5921 3651 they shall not3808 prosper,7919 and all3605 their flocks4830 shall be scattered.6327
|
21 Denn die Hirten7462 sind zu Narren1197 worden und fragen1875 nach dem HErrn3068 nicht; darum können7919 sie auch nichts Rechtes lehren, sondern alle Herden sind zerstreuet.

22 Behold,2009 the noise6963 of the bruit8052 is come,935 and a great1419 commotion7494 out of the north country,4480 776 6828 to make7760 853 the cities5892 of Judah3063 desolate,8077 and a den4583 of dragons.8577

22 Siehe, es kommt935 ein Geschrei6963 daher und7760 ein groß1419 Beben7494 aus dem Lande776 von Mitternacht6828, daß die Städte5892 Judas verwüstet8077 und zur Drachenwohnung werden sollen.

23 O LORD,3068 I know3045 that3588 the way1870 of man120 is not3808 in himself: it is not3808 in man376 that walketh1980 to direct3559 853 his steps.6806
|
23 Ich weiß3045, HErr3068, daß des Menschen120 Tun1870 stehet nicht3559 in seiner Gewalt und1980 stehet in niemands Macht, wie er376 wandele oder seinen Gang6806 richte.

24 O LORD,3068 correct3256 me, but with389 judgment;4941 not408 in thine anger,639 lest6435 thou bring me to nothing.4591
|
24 Züchtige3256 mich, HErr3068, doch mit Maße und nicht in deinem Grimm639, auf daß du mich nicht aufreibest4591!
|

25 Pour out8210 thy fury2534 upon5921 the heathen1471 that834 know3045 thee not,3808 and upon5921 the families4940 that834 call7121 not3808 on thy name:8034 for3588 they have eaten up398 853 Jacob,3290 and devoured398 him, and consumed3615 him, and have made his habitation5116 desolate.8074

25 Schütte8210 aber deinen Zorn2534 über die Heiden1471, so dich nicht kennen, und über die Geschlechter4940, so deinen Namen8034 nicht anrufen. Denn sie7121 haben3045 Jakob3290 aufgefressen und verschlungen; sie haben398 ihn398 aufgeräumet und seine Wohnung5116 verwüstet8074.
