第12章

1 羅波安的國堅立，他強盛的時候就離棄耶和華的律法，以色列人也都隨從他。

2 羅波安王第五年，埃及王示撒上來攻打耶路撒冷，因為王和民得罪了耶和華。

3 示撒帶戰車一千二百輛，馬兵六萬，並且跟從他出埃及的路比人、蘇基人，和埃塞俄比亞人，多得不可勝數。

4 他攻取了猶大的堅固城，就來到耶路撒冷。

5 那時，猶大的首領因為示撒就聚集在耶路撒冷。有先知示瑪雅去見羅波安和眾首領，對他們說：「耶和華如此說：『你們離棄了我，所以我使你們落在示撒手裏。』」

6 於是王和以色列的眾首領都自己謙卑［humble themselves］說：「耶和華是公義的。」

7 耶和華見他們自己謙卑［humbled themselves］，耶和華的話就臨到示瑪雅說：「他們既自己謙卑［humbled themselves］，我必不滅絕他們；必使他們略得拯救，我不藉著示撒的手將我的怒氣倒在耶路撒冷。

8 然而他們必作示撒的僕人；好叫他們知道，服事我與服事外邦列國［kingdoms of the countries］有何分別。」

9 於是，埃及王示撒上來攻取耶路撒冷，奪了耶和華殿和王宮裏的寶物，盡都帶走，又奪去所羅門製造的金盾牌。

10 羅波安王製造銅盾牌代替那金盾牌，交給守王宮門的護衛長看守。

11 王每逢進耶和華的殿，護衛兵就拿這盾牌，隨後仍將盾牌送回，放在護衛房。

12 王自己謙卑［humbled himself］的時候，耶和華的怒氣就轉消了，不將他滅盡，並且在猶大中間也有善益的事。

13 羅波安王自強，在耶路撒冷作王。他登基的時候年四十一歲，在耶路撒冷，就是耶和華從以色列眾支派中所選擇立他名的城，作王十七年。羅波安的母親名叫拿瑪，是亞捫人。

14 羅波安行惡，因他不立定心意尋求耶和華。

15 羅波安所行的事，自始至終不都寫在先知示瑪雅和先見易多的史記上嗎？羅波安與耶羅波安時常爭戰。

16 羅波安與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛城裏。他兒子亞比雅接續他作王。

2 Chronicles

Chapter 12

1 AND it came to pass when Rehoboam had established the kingdom and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

2 And it came to pass that in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,

3 With twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen; and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims and the Ethiopians.

4 And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.

5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam and to the princes of Judah that were gathered together at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus says the LORD: You have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous.

7 And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

8 Nevertheless they shall be his servants, that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.

9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king's house; he took all; he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

10 Instead of which King Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard that kept the entrance of the king's house.

11 And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.

12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether; and also in Judah things went well.

13 So King Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned; for Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess.

14 And he did evil before the LORD, for he did not prepare his heart to worship the LORD and to seek him with all his heart.

15 Now these are the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, to do evil before the LORD God of Israel. And there were wars between Rehoboam the son of Solomon and Jeroboam the son of Nebat continually.

16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David; and Abijah his son reigned in his stead.

1 AND it came to pass when Rehoboam had established the kingdom and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

2 羅波安王第五年，埃及王示撒上來攻打耶路撒冷，因為王和民得罪了耶和華。

2 And it came to pass that in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,

3 示撒帶戰車一千二百輛，馬兵六萬，並且跟從他出埃及的路比人、蘇基人，和埃塞俄比亞人，多得不可勝數。

3 With twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen; and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims and the Ethiopians.

4 And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.

5 那時，猶大的首領因為示撒就聚集在耶路撒冷。有先知示瑪雅去見羅波安和眾首領，對他們說：「耶和華如此說：『你們離棄了我，所以我使你們落在示撒手裏。』」

5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam and to the princes of Judah that were gathered together at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus says the LORD: You have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

6 於是王和以色列的眾首領都自己謙卑［humble themselves］說：「耶和華是公義的。」

6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous.

7 耶和華見他們自己謙卑［humbled themselves］，耶和華的話就臨到示瑪雅說：「他們既自己謙卑［humbled themselves］，我必不滅絕他們；必使他們略得拯救，我不藉著示撒的手將我的怒氣倒在耶路撒冷。

7 And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

8 然而他們必作示撒的僕人；好叫他們知道，服事我與服事外邦列國［kingdoms of the countries］有何分別。」

8 Nevertheless they shall be his servants, that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.

9 於是，埃及王示撒上來攻取耶路撒冷，奪了耶和華殿和王宮裏的寶物，盡都帶走，又奪去所羅門製造的金盾牌。

9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king's house; he took all; he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

10 羅波安王製造銅盾牌代替那金盾牌，交給守王宮門的護衛長看守。

10 Instead of which King Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard that kept the entrance of the king's house.

11 王每逢進耶和華的殿，護衛兵就拿這盾牌，隨後仍將盾牌送回，放在護衛房。

11 And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.
