第1章

1 大利烏王二年六月朔、耶和華命先知哈基諭設鐵子猶大方伯所羅把伯、約撒答子祭司長約書亞曰、

2 萬有之主耶和華云、斯民自謂建耶和華殿、其期未屆、

3 惟耶和華使先知哈基傳命、曰、

4 爾所居之屋、以板附壁、使斯殿荒蕪、豈在斯時乎、

5 今萬有之主耶和華曰、當察爾所爲、

6 爾播多穫少、食不果腹、飲不止渴、衣不得煖、工得其金、盛於敝囊。

7 萬有之主耶和華又曰、當察爾所爲、

8 耶和華曰、登山曳木、以建斯殿、使我獲榮、悅我心志、

9 昔爾慕多得少、攜物至家、我吹之飄沒者、誠何故耶、因爾各顧其廬、而我殿宇傾圮、毫不介意、萬有之主耶和華已言之矣。

10 是以天不降甘露、地不產庶物、

11 我使平原山岡、不沾膏澤、五穀酒油、及大地之所播而生、人畜之所勞而得者、俱必匱乏、

12 設鐵子所羅把伯、約撒答子祭司長約書亞、及諸遺民、遵其上帝耶和華所使先知哈基傳命之言而敬畏耶和華。

13 耶和華之使哈基、遂以耶和華之命、傳之民云、耶和華曰、我必眷佑爾衆、

14 於是耶和華感設鐵子猶大方伯所羅把伯、約撒答子、祭司長約書亞、及諸遺民之心、咸至萬有之主上帝耶和華之殿、大興工作、

15 此大利烏王二年六月二十四日事也。

Chapter 1

1 In the second8147 year8141 of Darius1867 the king,4428 in the sixth8345 month,2320 in the first259 day3117 of the month,2320 came1961 the word1697 of the LORD3068 by Haggai2292 the prophet5030 to Zerubbabel2216 the son1121 of Shealtiel,7597 governor6346 of Judah,3063 and to Joshua3091 the son1121 of Josedech,3087 the high1419 priest,3548 saying,559

2 Thus3541 speaks559 the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 saying,559 This2088 people5971 say,559 The time6256 is not come,935 the time6256 that the LORD's3068 house1004 should be built.1129

3 Then came1961 the word1697 of the LORD3068 by Haggai2292 the prophet,5030 saying,559

4 Is it time6256 for you, O you, to dwell3427 in your paneled5603 houses,1004 and this2088 house1004 lie waste?2720

5 Now6258 therefore thus3541 said559 the LORD3068 of hosts;6635 Consider7760 your ways.1870

6 You have sown2232 much,7235 and bring935 in little;4592 you eat,398 but you have not enough;7654 you drink,8354 but you are not filled with drink;7937 you clothe3847 you, but there is none369 warm;2527 and he that earns7936 wages7936 earns7936 wages7936 to put it into413 a bag6872 with holes.5344

7 Thus3541 said559 the LORD3068 of hosts;6635 Consider7760 your ways.1870

8 Go5927 up to the mountain,2022 and bring935 wood,6086 and build1129 the house;1004 and I will take pleasure7521 in it, and I will be glorified,3513 said559 the LORD.3068

9 You looked6437 for much,7235 and, see 2009it came to little;4592 and when you brought935 it home,1004 I did blow5301 on it. Why?3282 said5002 the LORD3068 of hosts.6635 Because3282 of my house1004 that is waste,2720 and you run7323 every man376 to his own house.1004

10 Therefore5921 3651 the heaven8064 over5921 you is stayed3607 from dew,2919 and the earth776 is stayed3607 from her fruit.2981

11 And I called7121 for a drought2721 on the land,776 and on the mountains,2022 and on the corn,1715 and on the new8492 wine,8492 and on the oil,3323 and on that which834 the ground127 brings3318 forth,3318 and on men,120 and on cattle,929 and on all3605 the labor3018 of the hands.3709

12 Then Zerubbabel2216 the son1121 of Shealtiel,7597 and Joshua3091 the son1121 of Josedech,3087 the high1419 priest,3548 with all3605 the remnant7611 of the people,5971 obeyed8085 the voice6963 of the LORD3068 their God,430 and the words1697 of Haggai2292 the prophet,5030 as the LORD3068 their God430 had sent7971 him, and the people5971 did fear3372 before6440 the LORD.3068
