1 Вот имена8034 сынов1121 Израилевых,3478 которые вошли935 в Египет4714 с Иаковом,3290 вошли935 каждый376 с домом1004 своим:

2 Рувим,7205 Симеон,8095 Левий3878 и Иуда,3063

3 Иссахар,3485 Завулон2074 и Вениамин,1144

4 Дан1835 и Неффалим,5321 Гад1410 и Асир.836

5 Всех же душ,5315 происшедших3318 от чресл3409 Иакова,3290 было семьдесят,7657 а Иосиф3130 был уже в Египте.4714

6 И умер4191 Иосиф3130 и все братья251 его и весь род1755 их;

7 а сыны1121 Израилевы3478 расплодились6509 и размножились,8317 и возросли7235 и усилились6105 чрезвычайно,39663966 и наполнилась4390 ими земля776 та.

8 И восстал6965 в Египте4714 новый2319 царь,4428 который не знал3045 Иосифа,3130

9 и сказал559 народу5971 своему: вот, народ5971 сынов1121 Израилевых3478 многочислен7227 и сильнее6099 нас;

10 перехитрим2449 же его, чтобы он не размножался;7235 иначе, когда случится7122 война,4421 соединится3254 и он1931 с нашими неприятелями,8130 и вооружится3898 против нас, и выйдет5927 из земли776 нашей.

11 И поставили7760 над ним начальников45228269 работ, чтобы изнуряли6031 его тяжкими5450 работами.5450 И он построил1129 фараону6547 Пифом6619 и Раамсес,7486 города5892 для запасов.4543

12 Но чем более изнуряли6031 его, тем3651 более он умножался7235 и тем более возрастал,6555 так что опасались6973 сынов1121 Израилевых.3478

13 И потому Египтяне4714 с жестокостью6531 принуждали5647 сынов1121 Израилевых3478 к работам5647

14 и делали4843 жизнь2416 их горькою4843 от тяжкой7186 работы5656 над глиною2563 и кирпичами3843 и от всякой работы5656 полевой,7704 от всякой работы,5656 к которой принуждали5647 их с жестокостью.6531

15 Царь4428 Египетский4714 повелел559 повивальным3205 бабкам3205 Евреянок,5680 из коих одной259 имя8034 Шифра,8236 а другой8145 Фуа,6326

16 и сказал:559 когда вы будете3205 повивать3205 у Евреянок,5680 то наблюдайте7200 при родах:70 если будет сын,1121 то умерщвляйте4191 его, а если дочь,1323 то пусть живет.2425

17 Но повивальные3205 бабки3205 боялись3372 Бога430 и не делали6213 так, как говорил1696 им царь4428 Египетский,4714 и оставляли2421 детей3206 в живых.2421

18 Царь4428 Египетский4714 призвал7121 повивальных3205 бабок3205 и сказал559 им: для чего4069 вы делаете6213 такое дело,1697 что оставляете2421 детей3206 в живых?2421

19 Повивальные3205 бабки3205 сказали559 фараону:6547 Еврейские5680 женщины802 не так, как Египетские;4713 они здоровы,2422 ибо прежде2962 нежели2962 придет935 к ним повивальная3205 бабка,3205 они уже рождают.3205

20 За сие Бог430 делал3190 добро3190 повивальным3205 бабкам,3205 а народ5971 умножался7235 и весьма3966 усиливался.6105

21 И так как повивальные3205 бабки3205 боялись3372 Бога,430 то Он устроял6213 домы1004 их.

22 Тогда фараон6547 всему народу5971 своему повелел,6680 говоря:559 всякого1121 новорожденного3209 у Евреев сына бросайте7993 в реку,2975 а всякую дочь1323 оставляйте2421 в живых.2421

Chapter 1

1 THESE are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob:

2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,

3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,

4 Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

5 And all the persons that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy persons; for Joseph was in Egypt already.

6 And Joseph died, and all his brothers, and all that generation.

7 And the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, and multiplied and grew exceedingly strong; and the land was filled with them.

8 Now there rose up a new king over Egypt who knew not Joseph.

9 And he said to his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more numerous and stronger than we;

10 Come, let us deal wisely with them, before they multiply, lest when we chance to be at war, they will be added also to our enemies, and fight against us, and so drive us out of the land.

11 Therefore they appointed over them cruel taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh cities with storehouses, Pithom and Raamses.

12 But the more they oppressed them, the more they multiplied and became strong. And the Egyptians were grieved because of the children of Israel.

13 So the Egyptians oppressed the children of Israel severely;

14 And they made their lives bitter with hard labor, in mortar and in bricks and in all manner of work in the field; all their service wherein they made them serve was with rigor.

15 And the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of the one was Puah and the name of the other Shoprah;

16 And he said to them, When you do perform your duties as midwives to the Hebrew women, look out when they kneel to deliver; if it is a male, then you must kill him; but if it is a female, then let her live.

17 But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but let the boys live.

18 So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, Why have you done this thing, and let the boys live?

19 And the midwives said to Pharaoh, The Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; for they themselves are midwives, and are delivered before a midwife comes in to them.

20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, because they spared the males; and the people multiplied, and grew exceedingly strong.

21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, he blessed them with families.

22 And Pharaoh charged all the people, saying, Every son that is born you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive.

6 И умер4191 Иосиф3130 и все братья251 его и весь род1755 их;

6 And Joseph died, and all his brothers, and all that generation.

7 а сыны1121 Израилевы3478 расплодились6509 и размножились,8317 и возросли7235 и усилились6105 чрезвычайно,39663966 и наполнилась4390 ими земля776 та.

7 And the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, and multiplied and grew exceedingly strong; and the land was filled with them.

8 И восстал6965 в Египте4714 новый2319 царь,4428 который не знал3045 Иосифа,3130

8 Now there rose up a new king over Egypt who knew not Joseph.

9 и сказал559 народу5971 своему: вот, народ5971 сынов1121 Израилевых3478 многочислен7227 и сильнее6099 нас;

9 And he said to his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more numerous and stronger than we;

10 перехитрим2449 же его, чтобы он не размножался;7235 иначе, когда случится7122 война,4421 соединится3254 и он1931 с нашими неприятелями,8130 и вооружится3898 против нас, и выйдет5927 из земли776 нашей.

10 Come, let us deal wisely with them, before they multiply, lest when we chance to be at war, they will be added also to our enemies, and fight against us, and so drive us out of the land.

11 И поставили7760 над ним начальников45228269 работ, чтобы изнуряли6031 его тяжкими5450 работами.5450 И он построил1129 фараону6547 Пифом6619 и Раамсес,7486 города5892 для запасов.4543

12 But the more they oppressed them, the more they multiplied and became strong. And the Egyptians were grieved because of the children of Israel.

13 So the Egyptians oppressed the children of Israel severely;

14 и делали4843 жизнь2416 их горькою4843 от тяжкой7186 работы5656 над глиною2563 и кирпичами3843 и от всякой работы5656 полевой,7704 от всякой работы,5656 к которой принуждали5647 их с жестокостью.6531

18 So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, Why have you done this thing, and let the boys live?

19 Повивальные3205 бабки3205 сказали559 фараону:6547 Еврейские5680 женщины802 не так, как Египетские;4713 они здоровы,2422 ибо прежде2962 нежели2962 придет935 к ним повивальная3205 бабка,3205 они уже рождают.3205

19 And the midwives said to Pharaoh, The Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; for they themselves are midwives, and are delivered before a midwife comes in to them.

20 За сие Бог430 делал3190 добро3190 повивальным3205 бабкам,3205 а народ5971 умножался7235 и весьма3966 усиливался.6105

20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, because they spared the males; and the people multiplied, and grew exceedingly strong.

21 И так как повивальные3205 бабки3205 боялись3372 Бога,430 то Он устроял6213 домы1004 их.

21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, he blessed them with families.

22 Тогда фараон6547 всему народу5971 своему повелел,6680 говоря:559 всякого1121 новорожденного3209 у Евреев сына бросайте7993 в реку,2975 а всякую дочь1323 оставляйте2421 в живых.2421

22 And Pharaoh charged all the people, saying, Every son that is born you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive.
