1 Некоторое время спустя Иосифу сказали: — Твой отец болен, — и он взял с собой двух сыновей, Манассию и Ефрема.

2 Иакову сказали: — К тебе пришел твой сын Иосиф, и Израиль собрался с силами, приподнялся и сел на постели.

3 Иаков сказал Иосифу: — Бог Всемогущий явился мне в Лузе, в земле Ханаана, благословил меня

4 и сказал мне: «Я сделаю тебя плодовитым, размножу тебя, произведу от тебя множество народов и дам эту землю в вечное владение твоим потомкам».

5 Отныне двое твоих сыновей, рожденных тебе в Египте до моего прихода, станут моими. Ефрем и Манассия будут моими, как Рувим и Симеон;

6 дети же, рожденные у тебя после них, будут твоими, они унаследуют часть земли из доли своих братьев.

7 Когда я возвращался из Паддана, Рахиль, к горю моему, умерла в земле Ханаана, когда мы были еще в пути, недалеко от Ефрафы. Поэтому я похоронил ее там, у дороги в Ефрафу (то есть Вифлеем).

8 Увидев сыновей Иосифа, Израиль спросил: — Кто это?

9 Иосиф ответил отцу: — Это сыновья, которых Бог дал мне здесь. И тот сказал: — Подведи их ко мне, чтобы мне благословить их.

10 Глаза Израиля ослабли от старости, он почти ослеп. Иосиф подвел сыновей поближе к своему отцу, и тот поцеловал и обнял их.

11 Израиль сказал Иосифу: — Я и не мечтал вновь увидеть тебя, а Бог дал мне увидеть даже твоих детей.

12 Иосиф отвел их от колен Израиля и поклонился ему низко до земли.

13 Потом Иосиф поставил Ефрема справа от себя, по левую руку от Израиля, а Манассию слева от себя, по правую руку от Израиля, и подвел их ближе к отцу.

14 Но Израиль протянул правую руку и возложил ее на голову Ефрема, хотя он и был младше, а левую, перекрестив руки, он возложил на голову Манассии, хотя Манассия был первенцем.

15 Потом он благословил Иосифа и сказал: — Бог, перед Которым ходили отцы мои Авраам и Исаак, Бог, Который был пастырем моим всю мою жизнь до сего дня,

16 Ангел, Который берег меня от всякого зла, — да благословит этих детей. Пусть продолжится в них мое имя и имена моих отцов Авраама и Исаака, и пусть многочисленно будет их потомство на земле.

17 Когда Иосиф увидел, что отец возложил правую руку на голову Ефрема, он огорчился и взял отца за руку, чтобы переложить ее с головы Ефрема на голову Манассии.

18 Иосиф сказал ему: — Нет, отец, вот этот — первенец; положи правую руку на его голову.

19 Но отец отказался и сказал: — Я знаю, мой сын, я знаю. От него тоже произойдет народ, и он тоже станет велик. Но его младший брат будет выше него, и его потомки станут множеством народов.

20 И он благословил их в тот день и сказал: — Ваши имена будет произносить Израиль, как благословение, говоря: «Да сделает тебя Бог подобным Ефрему и Манассии». Так он поставил Ефрема впереди Манассии.

21 Израиль сказал Иосифу: — Я умираю, но Бог будет с вами и возвратит вас в землю ваших отцов.

22 Я отдаю тебе, как высшему среди братьев, лишний горный кряж, который я отвоевал у аморреев мечом и луком.

1 And it came1961 to pass after310 these428 things,1697 that one told559 Joseph,3130 Behold,2009 your father1 is sick:2470 and he took3947 with him his two8147 sons,1121 Manasseh4519 and Ephraim.669

2 And one told5046 Jacob,3290 and said,559 Behold,2009 your son1121 Joseph3130 comes935 to you: and Israel3478 strengthened2388 himself, and sat3427 on the bed.4296

3 And Jacob3290 said559 to Joseph,3130 God410 Almighty7706 appeared7200 to me at Luz3870 in the land776 of Canaan,3667 and blessed1288 me,

4 And said559 to me, Behold,2005 I will make you fruitful,6509 and multiply7235 you, and I will make5414 of you a multitude6951 of people;5971 and will give5414 this2063 land776 to your seed2233 after310 you for an everlasting5769 possession.272

5 And now6258 your two8147 sons,1121 Ephraim669 and Manasseh,4519 which were born3205 to you in the land776 of Egypt4714 before5704 I came935 to you into Egypt,4714 are mine; as Reuben7205 and Simeon,8095 they shall be mine.

6 And your issue,4138 which834 you beget3205 after310 them, shall be yours, and shall be called7121 after5921 the name8034 of their brothers251 in their inheritance.5159

7 And as for me, when I came935 from Padan,6307 Rachel7354 died4191 by me in the land776 of Canaan3667 in the way,1870 when5750 yet5750 there was but a little3530 way776 to come935 to Ephrath:672 and I buried6912 her there8033 in the way1870 of Ephrath;672 the same1931 is Bethlehem.1035

8 And Israel3478 beheld7200 Joseph's3130 sons,1121 and said,559 Who4310 are these?428

9 And Joseph3130 said559 to his father,1 They are my sons,1121 whom834 God430 has given5414 me in this2088 place. And he said,559 Bring3947 them, I pray4994 you, to me, and I will bless1288 them.

10 Now the eyes5869 of Israel3478 were dim3513 for age,2207 so that he could3201 not see.7200 And he brought5066 them near5066 to him; and he kissed5401 them, and embraced2263 them.

11 And Israel3478 said559 to Joseph,3130 I had not thought6419 to see7200 your face:6440 and, see,2009 God430 has showed7200 me also1571 your seed.2233

12 And Joseph3130 brought3318 them out from between5973 his knees,1290 and he bowed7812 himself with his face639 to the earth.776

13 And Joseph3130 took3947 them both,8147 Ephraim669 in his right3225 hand3225 toward Israel's3478 left8040 hand,8040 and Manasseh4519 in his left8040 hand8040 toward Israel's3478 right3225 hand,3225 and brought5066 them near5066 to him.

14 And Israel3478 stretched7971 out his right3225 hand,3225 and laid7896 it on Ephraim's669 head,7218 who1931 was the younger,6810 and his left8040 hand8040 on Manasseh's4519 head,7218 guiding his hands3027 wittingly;7919 for Manasseh4519 was the firstborn.1060

15 And he blessed1288 Joseph,3130 and said,559 God,430 before6440 whom834 my fathers1 Abraham85 and Isaac3327 did walk,1980 the God430 which fed7462 me all my life long5750 to this2088 day,3117

16 The Angel4397 which redeemed1350 me from all3605 evil,7451 bless1288 the lads;5288 and let my name8034 be named7121 on them, and the name8034 of my fathers1 Abraham85 and Isaac;3327 and let them grow1711 into a multitude7230 in the middle7130 of the earth.776

17 And when Joseph3130 saw7200 that his father1 laid7896 his right3225 hand3027 on the head7218 of Ephraim,669 it displeased7489 5869 him: and he held8551 up his father's1 hand,3027 to remove5493 it from Ephraim's669 head7218 to Manasseh's4519 head.7218

18 And Joseph3130 said559 to his father,1 Not so,3651 my father:1 for this2088 is the firstborn;1060 put7760 your right3225 hand3225 on his head.7218

19 And his father1 refused,3985 and said,559 I know3045 it, my son,1121 I know3045 it: he also1571 shall become1961 a people,5971 and he also1571 shall be great:1431 but truly199 his younger6996 brother251 shall be greater1431 than he, and his seed2233 shall become1961 a multitude4393 of nations.1471

20 And he blessed1288 them that day,3117 saying,559 In you shall Israel3478 bless,1288 saying,559 God430 make6213 you as Ephraim669 and as Manasseh:4519 and he set7760 Ephraim669 before6440 Manasseh.4519

21 And Israel3478 said559 to Joseph,3130 Behold,2009 I die:4191 but God430 shall be with you, and bring7725 you again7725 to the land776 of your fathers.1

22 Moreover I have given5414 to you one259 portion7926 above5921 your brothers,251 which834 I took3947 out of the hand3027 of the Amorite567 with my sword2719 and with my bow.7198

5 Отныне двое твоих сыновей, рожденных тебе в Египте до моего прихода, станут моими. Ефрем и Манассия будут моими, как Рувим и Симеон;

5 And now6258 your two8147 sons,1121 Ephraim669 and Manasseh,4519 which were born3205 to you in the land776 of Egypt4714 before5704 I came935 to you into Egypt,4714 are mine; as Reuben7205 and Simeon,8095 they shall be mine.

10 Глаза Израиля ослабли от старости, он почти ослеп. Иосиф подвел сыновей поближе к своему отцу, и тот поцеловал и обнял их.

12 Иосиф отвел их от колен Израиля и поклонился ему низко до земли.

12 And Joseph3130 brought3318 them out from between5973 his knees,1290 and he bowed7812 himself with his face639 to the earth.776

13 Потом Иосиф поставил Ефрема справа от себя, по левую руку от Израиля, а Манассию слева от себя, по правую руку от Израиля, и подвел их ближе к отцу.

13 And Joseph3130 took3947 them both,8147 Ephraim669 in his right3225 hand3225 toward Israel's3478 left8040 hand,8040 and Manasseh4519 in his left8040 hand8040 toward Israel's3478 right3225 hand,3225 and brought5066 them near5066 to him.

14 Но Израиль протянул правую руку и возложил ее на голову Ефрема, хотя он и был младше, а левую, перекрестив руки, он возложил на голову Манассии, хотя Манассия был первенцем.

20 И он благословил их в тот день и сказал: — Ваши имена будет произносить Израиль, как благословение, говоря: «Да сделает тебя Бог подобным Ефрему и Манассии». Так он поставил Ефрема впереди Манассии.

21 Израиль сказал Иосифу: — Я умираю, но Бог будет с вами и возвратит вас в землю ваших отцов.
