Глава 30

1 Когда Рахиль увидела, что она не рождает детей Иакову, поревновала Рахиль сестре своей, и сказала Иакову: дай мне детей; а если не так, то я умру.

2 Иаков осердился на Рахиль, и сказал: неужели я вместо Бога, Который не дал тебе плода чрева?

3 Но она сказала: вот служанка моя Валла; войди к ней; пусть она родит у меня на коленах, тогда и я буду иметь детей от нее.

4 И так она дала ему Валлу, служанку свою, в жену; и вошел к ней Иаков.

5 Валла зачала, и родила Иакову сына.

6 При сем Рахиль сказала: Бог явил мне суд, и услышал глас мой, и дал мне сына; и посему нарекла ему имя: Дан.

7 Зачала и опять Валла, служанка Рахилина, и родила Иакову другого сына.

8 Тут Рахиль сказала: борьбою Божественною боролась я с сестрою моею, и превозмогла; посему нарекла ему имя: Неффалим.

9 Лия, видя, что перестала рождать, взяв служанку свою Зелфу, дала ее Иакову в жену.

10 И Зелфа, служанка Лиина, родила Иакову сына.

11 При сем Лия сказала: пришло счастие; и нарекла ему имя: Гад.

12 Зелфа, служанка Лиина, родила и другого сына Иакову.

13 Тогда Лия сказала: это блаженство для меня! ибо блаженною будут называть меня женщины. И нарекла ему имя: Асир.

14 Однажды, во время жатвы пшеницы, Рувим вышел в поле, и нашел мандрагоры, и принес их Лии, матери своей. Тогда Рахиль сказала Лии: дай мне мандрагоров сына твоего.

15 Но Лия сказала ей: неужели мало тебе, что ты завладела мужем моим, ты домогаешься и мандрагоров сына моего? Рахиль отвечала: хорошо, пусть он спит с тобою эту ночь, за мандрагоры сына твоего.

16 Итак вечером, когда Иаков пришел с поля, Лия вышла ему навстречу, и сказала: войди ко мне; ибо я купила тебя за мандрагоры сына моего. Посему он и спал с нею в ту ночь.

17 И услышал Бог Лию, и она зачала, и родила Иакову пятого сына.

18 И сказала Лия: Бог дал мне возмездие мое, тогда, как я уже служанку мою отдала мужу моему. И нарекла имя ему: Иссахар.

19 И еще зачала Лия, и родила Иакову шестого сына.

20 Тогда сказала Лия: Бог дал мне прекрасный дар; теперь будет жить со мною муж мой; ибо я родила ему шесть сынов. И нарекла ему имя: Завулон.

21 Потом родила дочь и нарекла ей имя: Дина.

22 И помянул Бог Рахиль, и услышал ее Бог, и отверз утробу ее.

23 Она зачала и родила сына, и сказала: избавил меня Бог от нарекания.

24 И нарекла ему имя: Иосиф, сказав: Иегова даст мне и другого сына.

25 После того, как Рахиль родила Иосифа, Иаков сказал Лавану: отпусти меня, я пойду в свое место и в свою землю;

26 Отдай жен моих и детей моих, за которых я работал тебе, и я пойду, ибо ты знаешь работу мою, сколько я работал тебе.

27 Но Лаван сказал ему: о! если бы я обрел благодать пред очами твоими! Я примечаю, что за тебя Иегова благословил меня.

28 И сказал: назначь сам себе награду от меня, и я дам тебе.

29 На сие Иаков сказал ему: ты знаешь, сколько я работал тебе, и сколько сделалось у тебя скота при мне.

30 Мало было у тебя до меня, а стало много; Иегова благословил тебя по приходе моем; когда же я буду работать и для своего дома?

31 Лаван сказал: что дать тебе? Иаков ответствовал: не давай мне ничего; если только сделаешь мне, что я скажу, то я опять буду пасти и стеречь овец твоих.

32 Я пройду сегодня по всему стаду овец твоих и отделю из них всякий скот с крапинами и с пятнами, всякую скотину черную из овец, также с пятнами и с крапинами из коз. После сего такой скот пусть будет наградою мне.

33 Таким образом, справедливость моя сама собою будет говорить за меня в следующее время пред лицем твоим, когда придешь посмотреть награду мою. Все, что у меня из коз не будет с крапинами, и из овец не будет черное, пусть считается за краденое.

34 На сие Лаван сказал: хорошо, пусть будет по твоему слову.

35 И отделил в тот день козлов пестрых, и с крапинами, и всех коз с крапинами и с пятнами, всех, на которых было несколько белого, и всех черных овец, и отдал на руки сыновьям своим;

36 И назначил расстояние между собою и между Иаковом на три дня пути. Иаков же пас остальной мелкий скот Лаванов.

37 Тогда Иаков взял свежих прутьев стираксовых, миндальных и яворовых, и вырезал на них белые полосы, сняв кору до белизны, которая на тех прутьях;

38 И положил прутья, которые он испестрил, перед скотом в водопойных корытах, куда скот приходил пить, и где, приходя пить, зачинал.

39 И зачинал скот у прутьев, и рождался скот пестрый, и с крапинами, и с пятнами.

40 Таких агнцев Иаков отделял, и ставил скот лицем к пестрому и всему черному скоту Лаванову; но свои стада держал особо, и не ставил их вместе со скотом Лавана.

41 Каждый раз, когда зачинал скот крепкий, Иаков полагал прутья в корытах, пред глазами скота, чтобы он зачинал у прутьев.

42 А когда скот был слаб, тогда он не клал. И доставался слабый скот Лавану, а крепкий Иакову.

43 И сделался он весьма, весьма богат, так что у него было множество мелкого скота, и рабыни, и рабы, и верблюды, и ослы.

Chapter 30

1 AND when Rachel saw that she was not bearing children to Jacob, she envied her sister; and said to Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.

2 And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel; and he said to her, Am I in the place of God, that I have prevented you from having a child?

3 Then she said to him, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also be comforted by her.

4 And she gave him her maid Bilhah to wife; and Jacob went in unto her.

5 And Bilhah conceived, and bore Jacob a son.

6 And Rachel said, God has judged me, and has also heard my voice, and has given me a son; therefore she called his name Dan.

7 And Bilhah, Rachel's maid, conceived again, and bore Jacob a second son.

8 And Rachel said, I have besought the LORD, and pleaded with my sister, and I have attained my desire; and she called his name Naphtali.

9 When Leah saw that she had ceased bearing children, she took her maid Zilpah, and gave her to Jacob to wife.

10 And Zilpah, Leah's maid, bore Jacob a son.

11 And Leah said, My fortune has come; so she called his name Gad.

12 And Zilpah, Leah's maid, bore Jacob a second son.

13 And Leah said, The girls will sing my praise, so she called his name Asher.

14 And Reuben went at the time of the wheat harvest and found mandrakes in the field and brought them; to his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me some of your son's mandrakes.

15 But Leah said to her, Is it not enough for you that you have taken away my husband? And would you take away my sows mandrakes also? And Rachel said, He may lie with you tonight for your son's mandrakes.

16 And when Jacob came home from the field in the evening, Leah went out to meet him, and said, You must come in unto me; for surely I have hired you with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.

17 And God hearkened to Leah, and she conceived, and bore Jacob the fifth son.

18 And Leah said, God has rewarded me, because I have given my maid to my husband; so she called his name Issachar.

19 And Leah conceived again, and bore Jacob the sixth son.

20 And Leah said, God has enriched me exceedingly; now my husband will surely have more affection for me, because I have borne him six sons; so she called his name Zebulun.

21 And afterwards she bore a daughter, and called her name Dinah.

22 And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her and opened her womb.

23 And she conceived, and bore a son; and said, God has taken away my reproach;

24 And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.

25 And it came to pass, when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said to Laban, Send me away, that I may go to my own place, and to my land.

26 Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served you, and let me go; for you know the service which I have rendered you.

27 And Laban said to Jacob, If I have found favor in your eyes, I have proven by experience that the LORD has blessed me for your sake.

28 Then he said, Specify your wages, and I will give them.

29 And Jacob said to him, You yourself know the service which I have given you, and how your cattle have prospered with me.

30 For it was little which you had before I came, and now it has increased abundantly; and the LORD has blessed you for my sake; and now what shall I do in order to provide for my own household also?

31 And Laban said, What shall I give you? And Jacob said, You shall not give me anything; if you will do for me the thing which I will tell you, I will go back to feed and keep your flock.

32 I will pass through all your flock today, and select for myself from it every speckled and spotted lamb, and every brown lamb, and the spotted and speckled among the goats; and of such shall be my wages.

33 Just as my innocence is evident today, so it will be in the future when my wages are brought before your presence; every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats and brown among the white sheep, that shall be counted stolen by me.

34 Laban said to him, Yes, let it be according to your word.

35 And he removed that day the he goats that were speckled and spotted, and all the she goats that were speckled and spotted, and every one that had some white on it, and all the brown among the white sheep, and entrusted them to his sons.

36 And he set three days journey between himself and Jacob; and Jacob fed the rest of Laban's flocks.

37 And Jacob took some fresh white rods of almond and poplar trees; and peeled white streaks in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.

38 And he set the rods which he had peeled before the flocks in the running water, in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink; and they conceived when they came to drink.

39 And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth lambs that were speckled and spotted.

40 And Jacob separated the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the speckled and spotted, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and did not mix them with Laban's flock.

41 And it came to pass, whenever the stronger of the flock did conceive, Jacob laid the rods in front of the sheep in the troughs, that they might conceive by the means of the rods.

42 But when the sheep were feeble, he did not put the rods in; so the feebler were Laban's and the stronger Jacob's.

43 And the man grew exceedingly rich, and had large flocks, menservants, maidservants, and she asses, camels, and he asses.

1 AND when Rachel saw that she was not bearing children to Jacob, she envied her sister; and said to Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.

2 And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel; and he said to her, Am I in the place of God, that I have prevented you from having a child?

4 And she gave him her maid Bilhah to wife; and Jacob went in unto her.

6 And Rachel said, God has judged me, and has also heard my voice, and has given me a son; therefore she called his name Dan.

7 Зачала и опять Валла, служанка Рахилина, и родила Иакову другого сына.

7 And Bilhah, Rachel's maid, conceived again, and bore Jacob a second son.

8 Тут Рахиль сказала: борьбою Божественною боролась я с сестрою моею, и превозмогла; посему нарекла ему имя: Неффалим.

8 And Rachel said, I have besought the LORD, and pleaded with my sister, and I have attained my desire; and she called his name Naphtali.

9 Лия, видя, что перестала рождать, взяв служанку свою Зелфу, дала ее Иакову в жену.

9 When Leah saw that she had ceased bearing children, she took her maid Zilpah, and gave her to Jacob to wife.

10 И Зелфа, служанка Лиина, родила Иакову сына.

10 And Zilpah, Leah's maid, bore Jacob a son.

11 При сем Лия сказала: пришло счастие; и нарекла ему имя: Гад.

11 And Leah said, My fortune has come; so she called his name Gad.

15 But Leah said to her, Is it not enough for you that you have taken away my husband? And would you take away my sows mandrakes also? And Rachel said, He may lie with you tonight for your son's mandrakes.

16 Итак вечером, когда Иаков пришел с поля, Лия вышла ему навстречу, и сказала: войди ко мне; ибо я купила тебя за мандрагоры сына моего. Посему он и спал с нею в ту ночь.

16 And when Jacob came home from the field in the evening, Leah went out to meet him, and said, You must come in unto me; for surely I have hired you with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.

17 И услышал Бог Лию, и она зачала, и родила Иакову пятого сына.

17 And God hearkened to Leah, and she conceived, and bore Jacob the fifth son.

18 И сказала Лия: Бог дал мне возмездие мое, тогда, как я уже служанку мою отдала мужу моему. И нарекла имя ему: Иссахар.

18 And Leah said, God has rewarded me, because I have given my maid to my husband; so she called his name Issachar.

19 И еще зачала Лия, и родила Иакову шестого сына.

19 And Leah conceived again, and bore Jacob the sixth son.

22 И помянул Бог Рахиль, и услышал ее Бог, и отверз утробу ее.

22 And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her and opened her womb.

23 Она зачала и родила сына, и сказала: избавил меня Бог от нарекания.

23 And she conceived, and bore a son; and said, God has taken away my reproach;

24 And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.

25 После того, как Рахиль родила Иосифа, Иаков сказал Лавану: отпусти меня, я пойду в свое место и в свою землю;

25 And it came to pass, when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said to Laban, Send me away, that I may go to my own place, and to my land.

26 Отдай жен моих и детей моих, за которых я работал тебе, и я пойду, ибо ты знаешь работу мою, сколько я работал тебе.

26 Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served you, and let me go; for you know the service which I have rendered you.

27 Но Лаван сказал ему: о! если бы я обрел благодать пред очами твоими! Я примечаю, что за тебя Иегова благословил меня.

27 And Laban said to Jacob, If I have found favor in your eyes, I have proven by experience that the LORD has blessed me for your sake.

28 И сказал: назначь сам себе награду от меня, и я дам тебе.

28 Then he said, Specify your wages, and I will give them.

29 На сие Иаков сказал ему: ты знаешь, сколько я работал тебе, и сколько сделалось у тебя скота при мне.

29 And Jacob said to him, You yourself know the service which I have given you, and how your cattle have prospered with me.

30 Мало было у тебя до меня, а стало много; Иегова благословил тебя по приходе моем; когда же я буду работать и для своего дома?

30 For it was little which you had before I came, and now it has increased abundantly; and the LORD has blessed you for my sake; and now what shall I do in order to provide for my own household also?

31 Лаван сказал: что дать тебе? Иаков ответствовал: не давай мне ничего; если только сделаешь мне, что я скажу, то я опять буду пасти и стеречь овец твоих.

31 And Laban said, What shall I give you? And Jacob said, You shall not give me anything; if you will do for me the thing which I will tell you, I will go back to feed and keep your flock.

32 Я пройду сегодня по всему стаду овец твоих и отделю из них всякий скот с крапинами и с пятнами, всякую скотину черную из овец, также с пятнами и с крапинами из коз. После сего такой скот пусть будет наградою мне.

32 I will pass through all your flock today, and select for myself from it every speckled and spotted lamb, and every brown lamb, and the spotted and speckled among the goats; and of such shall be my wages.

33 Таким образом, справедливость моя сама собою будет говорить за меня в следующее время пред лицем твоим, когда придешь посмотреть награду мою. Все, что у меня из коз не будет с крапинами, и из овец не будет черное, пусть считается за краденое.

33 Just as my innocence is evident today, so it will be in the future when my wages are brought before your presence; every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats and brown among the white sheep, that shall be counted stolen by me.

34 На сие Лаван сказал: хорошо, пусть будет по твоему слову.

34 Laban said to him, Yes, let it be according to your word.

35 И отделил в тот день козлов пестрых, и с крапинами, и всех коз с крапинами и с пятнами, всех, на которых было несколько белого, и всех черных овец, и отдал на руки сыновьям своим;

35 And he removed that day the he goats that were speckled and spotted, and all the she goats that were speckled and spotted, and every one that had some white on it, and all the brown among the white sheep, and entrusted them to his sons.

36 И назначил расстояние между собою и между Иаковом на три дня пути. Иаков же пас остальной мелкий скот Лаванов.

36 And he set three days journey between himself and Jacob; and Jacob fed the rest of Laban's flocks.

37 Тогда Иаков взял свежих прутьев стираксовых, миндальных и яворовых, и вырезал на них белые полосы, сняв кору до белизны, которая на тех прутьях;

37 And Jacob took some fresh white rods of almond and poplar trees; and peeled white streaks in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.

38 И положил прутья, которые он испестрил, перед скотом в водопойных корытах, куда скот приходил пить, и где, приходя пить, зачинал.

38 And he set the rods which he had peeled before the flocks in the running water, in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink; and they conceived when they came to drink.

39 И зачинал скот у прутьев, и рождался скот пестрый, и с крапинами, и с пятнами.

39 And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth lambs that were speckled and spotted.

40 Таких агнцев Иаков отделял, и ставил скот лицем к пестрому и всему черному скоту Лаванову; но свои стада держал особо, и не ставил их вместе со скотом Лавана.

40 And Jacob separated the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the speckled and spotted, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and did not mix them with Laban's flock.

41 Каждый раз, когда зачинал скот крепкий, Иаков полагал прутья в корытах, пред глазами скота, чтобы он зачинал у прутьев.

41 And it came to pass, whenever the stronger of the flock did conceive, Jacob laid the rods in front of the sheep in the troughs, that they might conceive by the means of the rods.

42 А когда скот был слаб, тогда он не клал. И доставался слабый скот Лавану, а крепкий Иакову.

42 But when the sheep were feeble, he did not put the rods in; so the feebler were Laban's and the stronger Jacob's.

43 И сделался он весьма, весьма богат, так что у него было множество мелкого скота, и рабыни, и рабы, и верблюды, и ослы.

43 And the man grew exceedingly rich, and had large flocks, menservants, maidservants, and she asses, camels, and he asses.
