Глава 9

1 В двенадцатый месяц, то есть, в месяц Адар, в тринадцатый день его, в который пришло время воздействовать повелению цареву и указу его, в тот день, когда неприятели Иудеев надеялись взять над ними власть, вышло наоборот, что сами Иудеи взяли власть над врагами своими.

2 Иудеи собрались в городах своих по всем областям царя Ахашвероша, чтоб наложить руку на зложелателей своих, и никто не мог устоять пред лицем их, потому что страх их напал на все народы.

3 И все главные в областях сатрапы, и областеначальники и производители царских дел помогали Иудеям, потому что напал на них страх Мардохея.

4 Ибо Мардохей велик был в доме царя, и слава о нем ходила по всем областям; ибо сей человек - Мардохей поднимался выше и выше.

5 И Иудеи били всех врагов своих мечем, резали и губили, и поступали с неприятелями своими по своей воле.

6 В городе Сусане убили и погубили Иудеи пятьсот человек.

7 Убили и Паршандафу, и Далфона, и Аспафу,

8 И Порафу, и Адалию, и Аридафу,

9 И Пармашфу, и Арисая, и Аридая, и Ваиезафу,

10 Десятерых сыновей Амана, сына Медафы, врага Иудеев; а на грабеж не простерли руки своей.

11 В тот день пришел к царю счет убитых в городе Сусане.

12 И сказал царь царице Есфири: в городе Сусане убили и погубили Иудеи пять сот человек и десятерых сыновей Амана; а что они сделали в прочих областях царя? Какое бы ни было желание твое, оно дано будет тебе; и если у тебя еще есть просьба, она исполнена будет.

13 И сказала Есфирь: если благоугодно царю, то пусть бы позволено было Иудеям, которые в Сусане, и завтра делать тоже, что сегодня, и десятерых сыновей Амановых пусть бы повесили на дереве.

14 И сказал царь: сделать так. И дан на это указ в Сусане. И повесили десятерых сыновей Амановых.

15 И собрались Иудеи, которые в Сусане, и в четырнадцатый день месяца Адара убили в Сусане триста человек. А на грабеж не простерли руки своей.

16 И прочие Иудеи, которые в областях царевых, собрались, чтоб стать на защиту жизни своей, и быть покойными от врагов своих; и убили из неприятелей своих семьдесят пять тысяч. А на грабеж не простерли руки своей.

17 Это было в тринадцатый день месяца Адара. А в четырнадцатый день его был покой, и сделали его днем пиршества и веселия.

18 Иудеи же, которые в Сусане, собирались в тринадцатый день его и в четырнадцатый день его; а в пятнадцатый день его был покой, и сделали его днем пиршества и веселия.

19 Оттого областные Иудеи, живущие в городах открытых, делают четырнадцатый день месяца Адара днем веселия и пиршества и днем праздничным, в который посылают друг другу подарки.

20 Все сии происшествия Мардохей описал, и послал письма ко всем Иудеям, которые в областях царя Ахашвероша, к близким и к дальным,

21 Предписывая им праздновать четырнадцатый день месяца Адара и пятнадцатый день его во всяком году,

22 Как такие дни, в которые Иудеи сделались спокойны от врагов своих, и как такой месяц, в который у них печаль превратилась в радость, и сетование - в день праздничный, и советуя сделать их днями пиршества и веселия, в которые посылают друг другу подарки, и делают подаяние бедным.

23 И приняли Иудеи то, что уже сами начали делать, и о чем писал к ним Мардохей.

24 Поелику Аман, сын Медафы, Агагитянин, враг всех Иудеев, думал погубить Иудеев, и бросал пур, то есть, жребий о истреблении и погублении их

25 (Однакож, когда это дошло до царя, он своим предписанием злой замысел его, который он задумал на Иудеев, обратил на его голову, и повесили его и сыновей его на дереве),

26 То по этому и назвали сии дни Пурим от имени пур. Таким образом согласно со всеми словами сего письма, и с тем, что сами видели, и что дошло до них,

27 Иудеи постановили и приняли обязанность на себя, и на детей своих, и на всех присоединяющихся к ним, неотменно праздновать два сии дня по предписанному для них уставу, и в определенное для них время, всякий год.

28 И дни сии должны быть памятны и празднованы во все роды, во всяком племени, во всякой области и во всяком городе. Сии дни Пурим не должны выходить у Иудеев из числа праздников, и память о них не должна исчезнуть у детей их.

29 И царица Есфирь, дочь Авихаила, и Мардохей Иудеянин писали со всею настойчивостью, чтоб вторично подтвердить сие письмо о Пуриме.

30 И послали письма ко всем Иудеям в сто двадцать семь областей царства Ахашверошева с словами мира и истины,

31 Чтоб они твердо наблюдали сии дни Пурим в определенное их время, какое поставил для них Мардохей Иудеянин и царица Есфирь, и как они сами установили для себя и для детей своих, касательно пощений и воплей во время их.

32 И повеление Есфири подтвердило все касающееся до сего Пурима, и вписано оно в книгу.

2 The Jews3064 gathered6950 themselves together in their cities5892 throughout all3605 the provinces4082 of the king4428 Ahasuerus,325 to lay7971 hand3027 on such as sought1245 their hurt:7451 and no3808 man376 could withstand5975 them; for the fear6343 of them fell5307 on all3605 people.5971

3 And all3605 the rulers8269 of the provinces,4082 and the lieutenants,323 and the deputies,6346 and officers6213 of the king,4428 helped5375 the Jews;3064 because3588 the fear6343 of Mordecai4782 fell5307 on them.

4 For Mordecai4782 was great1419 in the king's4428 house,1004 and his fame8089 went1980 out throughout all3605 the provinces:4082 for this man376 Mordecai4782 waxed1980 greater1419 and greater.

5 Thus the Jews3064 smote5221 all3605 their enemies341 with the stroke4347 of the sword,2719 and slaughter,2027 and destruction,12 and did6213 what4100 they would to those that hated8130 them.

6 And in Shushan7800 the palace1002 the Jews3064 slew2026 and destroyed6 five2568 hundred3967 men.376

12 And the king4428 said559 to Esther635 the queen,4436 The Jews3064 have slain2026 and destroyed6 five2568 hundred3967 men376 in Shushan7800 the palace,1002 and the ten6235 sons1121 of Haman;2001 what4100 have they done6213 in the rest7605 of the king's4428 provinces?4082 now what4100 is your petition?7596 and it shall be granted5414 you: or what4100 is your request1246 further?5750 and it shall be done.6213

13 Then said559 Esther,635 If518 it please2896 the king,4428 let it be granted5414 to the Jews3064 which834 are in Shushan7800 to do6213 to morrow4279 also1571 according to this day's3117 decree,1881 and let Haman's2001 ten6235 sons1121 be hanged8518 on the gallows.6086

14 And the king4428 commanded559 it so3651 to be done:6213 and the decree1881 was given5414 at Shushan;7800 and they hanged8518 Haman's2001 ten6235 sons.1121

15 For the Jews3064 that were in Shushan7800 gathered6950 themselves together on the fourteenth702 6240 day3117 also1571 of the month2320 Adar,143 and slew2026 three7969 hundred3967 men376 at Shushan;7800 but on the prey961 they laid7971 not their hand.3027

16 But the other7605 Jews3064 that were in the king's4428 provinces4082 gathered6950 themselves together, and stood5975 for their lives,5315 and had rest5118 from their enemies,341 and slew2026 of their foes8130 seventy7657 and five2568 thousand,505 but they laid7971 not their hands3027 on the prey,961

17 On the thirteenth7969 6240 day3117 of the month2320 Adar;143 and on the fourteenth702 6240 day of the same rested5118 they, and made6213 it a day3117 of feasting4960 and gladness.8057

18 But the Jews3064 that were at Shushan7800 assembled6950 together on the thirteenth7969 6240 day thereof, and on the fourteenth702 6240 thereof; and on the fifteenth2568 6240 day of the same they rested,5118 and made6213 it a day3117 of feasting4960 and gladness.8057

19 Therefore5921 3651 the Jews3064 of the villages,6521 that dwelled3427 in the unwalled6519 towns,5892 made6213 the fourteenth702 6240 day3117 of the month2320 Adar a day of gladness8057 and feasting,4960 and a good2896 day,3117 and of sending4916 portions4490 one376 to another.7453

20 And Mordecai4782 wrote3789 these428 things,1697 and sent7971 letters5612 to all3605 the Jews3064 that were in all3605 the provinces4082 of the king4428 Ahasuerus,325 both near7126 and far,7350

21 To establish6965 this among5921 them, that they should keep6213 the fourteenth702 6240 day3117 of the month2320 Adar,143 and the fifteenth2568 6240 day3117 of the same, yearly,8141

22 As the days3117 wherein834 the Jews3064 rested5117 from their enemies,341 and the month2320 which834 was turned2015 to them from sorrow3015 to joy,8057 and from mourning60 into a good2896 day:3117 that they should make6213 them days3117 of feasting4960 and joy,8057 and of sending4916 portions4490 one376 to another,7453 and gifts4979 to the poor.34

23 And the Jews3064 undertook6901 to do6213 as they had begun,2490 and as Mordecai4782 had written3789 to them;

24 Because3588 Haman2001 the son1121 of Hammedatha,4099 the Agagite,91 the enemy6887 of all3605 the Jews,3064 had devised2803 against5921 the Jews3064 to destroy6 them, and had cast5307 Pur,6332 that is, the lot,1486 to consume2000 them, and to destroy6 them;

25 But when Esther came935 before6440 the king,4428 he commanded559 by letters5612 that his wicked7451 device,4284 which834 he devised2803 against5921 the Jews,3064 should return7725 on his own head,7218 and that he and his sons1121 should be hanged8518 on5921 the gallows.6086

26 Why5921 3651 they called7121 these428 days3117 Purim6332 after5921 the name8034 of Pur.6332 Therefore5921 3651 for all3605 the words1697 of this3602 letter,107 and of that which4100 they had seen7200 concerning5921 this matter,3602 and which4100 had come5060 to them,

27 The Jews3064 ordained,6965 and took6901 on them, and on their seed,2233 and on all3605 such as joined3867 themselves to them, so as it should not fail,5674 that they would keep6213 these428 two8147 days3117 according to their writing,3791 and according to their appointed time2165 every3605 year;8141

28 And that these428 days3117 should be remembered2142 and kept6213 throughout every generation,1755 every family,4940 every province,4082 and every city;5892 and that these428 days3117 of Purim6332 should not fail5674 from among8432 the Jews,3064 nor3808 the memorial2143 of them perish5486 from their seed.2233

29 Then Esther635 the queen,4436 the daughter1323 of Abihail,32 and Mordecai4782 the Jew,3064 wrote3789 with all3605 authority,8633 to confirm6965 this2063 second8145 letter107 of Purim.6332

30 And he sent7971 the letters5612 to all3605 the Jews,3064 to the hundred3967 twenty6242 and seven7651 provinces4082 of the kingdom4438 of Ahasuerus,325 with words1697 of peace7965 and truth,571

31 To confirm6965 these428 days3117 of Purim6332 in their times2165 appointed, according as Mordecai4782 the Jew3064 and Esther635 the queen4436 had enjoined6965 them, and as they had decreed6965 for themselves5315 and for their seed,2233 the matters1697 of the fastings6685 and their cry.2201

32 And the decree3982 of Esther635 confirmed6965 these428 matters1697 of Purim;6332 and it was written3789 in the book.5612
