1 ON the third day there was a marriage feast in Cana, a city of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there. |
|
2 And Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the marriage feast. |
|
3 And when the wine decreased, his mother said to Jesus, They have no wine. |
|
4 Jesus said to her, What is it to me and to you, woman? my turn has not yet come. |
|
5 His mother said to the helpers, Whatever he tells you, do it. |
|
6 And there were six stone jars placed there for the purification of the Jews, which could hold several gallons each. |
|
7 Jesus said to them, Fill the jars with water; and they filled them up to the brim. |
|
8 Then he said to them, Draw out now, and bring it to the chief guest of the feast. And they brought it. |
|
9 And when the chief guest tasted the water that had become wine, he did not know whence it had come; but the helpers knew, who had drawn the water. Then the chief guest called the bridegroom |
|
10 And said to him, Every man at first brings the best wine; and when they have drunk, then that which is weak; but you have kept the best wine until now. |
|
11 This is the first miracle which Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and he showed his glory; and his disciples believed in him. |
|
12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brothers, and his disciples; and they remained there a few days. |
|
13 And the Jewish passover was nearing; so Jesus went up to Jerusalem. |
|
14 And he found in the temple those who were buying oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting. |
|
15 And he made a whip of cord, and drove them all out of the temple, even the sheep and the oxen and the money changers; and he threw out their exchange money, and upset their trays; |
|
16 And to those who sold doves he said, Take these away from here; do not make my Father's house a house of trading. |
|
17 And his disciples remembered that it is written, The zeal for your house has given me courage. |
|
18 The Jews answered and said to him, What sign do you show us, that you are doing these things? |
|
19 Jesus answered and said to them, Tear down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. |
|
20 The Jews said to him, It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days? |
|
21 But he spoke concerning the temple of his body. |
|
22 When he rose from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scriptures and the word which Jesus had said. |
|
23 Now when Jesus was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, a great many believed in him, because they saw the miracles which he did. |
|
24 But Jesus did not entrust himself to them, because he understood every man. |
|
25 And he needed no man to testify to him concerning any man; for he knew well what was in man. |

2 На весілля запрошений був теж Ісус та учні Його. |
|
3 Як забракло ж вина, то мати Ісусова каже до Нього: „Не мають вина!“ |
|
4 Ісус же відказує їй: „Що тобі, жо́но, до Мене? Не прийшла ще година Моя!“ |
|
5 А мати Його до слуг каже: „Зробіть усе те, що́ Він вам скаже!“ |
|
6 Було тут шість камінних посу́дин на воду, що стояли для очи́щення юдейського, що відер по дві чи по три вміщали. |
|
7 Ісус каже до слуг: „Напо́вніть водою посу́дини“. І їх поналива́ли вще́рть. |
|
8 І Він каже до них: „Тепер зачерпні́ть, і занесіть до весільного ста́рости“. І занесли. |
|
9 Як весільний же ста́роста скуштува́в воду, що сталась вином, а він не знав, звідки воно, — знали ж слу́ги, що води наливали, — то староста кличе тоді молодо́го |
|
10 та й каже йому: „Кожна люди́на подає перше добре вино, а як понапива́ються, тоді гірше; а ти добре вино аж на досі зберіг“. |
|
11 Такий поча́ток чудам зробив Ісус у Кані́ Галілейській, — і виявив славу Свою. І ввірували в Нього учні Його. |
|

13 А зближалася Пасха юдейська, і до Єрусалиму подався Ісус. |
|
14 І знайшов Він, що продавали у храмі волів, і овець, і голубів, та сиділи міня́льники. |
|
15 І, зробивши бича́ з мотузкі́в, Він вигнав із храму всіх, — вівці й воли, а міня́льникам гроші розси́пав, і попереверта́в їм столи́. |
|
16 І сказав продавця́м голубів: „Заберіть оце звідси, і не робіть із дому Отця Мого дому торго́вого! |
|
17 Тоді учні Його згадали, що написано: „Ревність до дому Твого з'їдає Мене!“ |
|
18 І обізва́лись юдеї й сказали Йому: „Яке нам знаме́но покажеш, що Ти можеш робити таке?“ |
|
19 Ісус відповів і промовив до них: „Зруйнуйте цей храм, — і за три дні Я поставлю його!“ |
|
20 Відказали ж юдеї: „Сорок шість літ будувався цей храм, а Ти за три́ дні поставиш його?“ |
|
21 А Він говорив про храм тіла Свого. |
|
22 Коли ж Він із мертвих воскрес, то учні Його згадали, що Він говорив це, і ввірували в Писа́ння та в слово, що сказав був Ісус. |
|
23 А як в Єрусалимі Він був у свято Пасхи, то багато-хто ввірували в Його Йме́ння, побачивши чуда Його, що чинив. |
|
24 Але Сам Ісус їм не звіря́вся, бо Сам знав усіх, |
|
25 і потреби не мав, щоб хто сві́дчив Йому про люди́ну, — бо знав Сам, що в люди́ні було. |

8 Then he said to them, Draw out now, and bring it to the chief guest of the feast. And they brought it. |
8 І Він каже до них: „Тепер зачерпні́ть, і занесіть до весільного ста́рости“. І занесли. |
|
9 And when the chief guest tasted the water that had become wine, he did not know whence it had come; but the helpers knew, who had drawn the water. Then the chief guest called the bridegroom |
9 Як весільний же ста́роста скуштува́в воду, що сталась вином, а він не знав, звідки воно, — знали ж слу́ги, що води наливали, — то староста кличе тоді молодо́го |

10 And said to him, Every man at first brings the best wine; and when they have drunk, then that which is weak; but you have kept the best wine until now. |
10 та й каже йому: „Кожна люди́на подає перше добре вино, а як понапива́ються, тоді гірше; а ти добре вино аж на досі зберіг“. |
|
11 This is the first miracle which Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and he showed his glory; and his disciples believed in him. |
11 Такий поча́ток чудам зробив Ісус у Кані́ Галілейській, — і виявив славу Свою. І ввірували в Нього учні Його. |
|
12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brothers, and his disciples; and they remained there a few days. |

13 And the Jewish passover was nearing; so Jesus went up to Jerusalem. |
13 А зближалася Пасха юдейська, і до Єрусалиму подався Ісус. |
|

14 І знайшов Він, що продавали у храмі волів, і овець, і голубів, та сиділи міня́льники. |

15 And he made a whip of cord, and drove them all out of the temple, even the sheep and the oxen and the money changers; and he threw out their exchange money, and upset their trays; |

16 And to those who sold doves he said, Take these away from here; do not make my Father's house a house of trading. |

22 Коли ж Він із мертвих воскрес, то учні Його згадали, що Він говорив це, і ввірували в Писа́ння та в слово, що сказав був Ісус. |

23 Now when Jesus was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, a great many believed in him, because they saw the miracles which he did. |
23 А як в Єрусалимі Він був у свято Пасхи, то багато-хто ввірували в Його Йме́ння, побачивши чуда Його, що чинив. |
|
24 But Jesus did not entrust himself to them, because he understood every man. |
24 Але Сам Ісус їм не звіря́вся, бо Сам знав усіх, |
|
25 And he needed no man to testify to him concerning any man; for he knew well what was in man. |
25 і потреби не мав, щоб хто сві́дчив Йому про люди́ну, — бо знав Сам, що в люди́ні було. |
