Chapter 7

1 And the men376 of Kirjath-jearim7157 came,935 and fetched up5927 853 the ark727 of the LORD,3068 and brought935 it into413 the house1004 of Abinadab41 in the hill,1389 and sanctified6942 Eleazar499 his son1121 to keep8104 853 the ark727 of the LORD.3068

2 And it came to pass,1961 while4480 3117 the ark727 abode3427 in Kirjath-jearim,7157 that the time3117 was long;7235 for it was1961 twenty6242 years:8141 and all3605 the house1004 of Israel3478 lamented5091 after310 the LORD.3068

3 And Samuel8050 spoke559 unto413 all3605 the house1004 of Israel,3478 saying,559 If518 ye859 do return7725 unto413 the LORD3068 with all3605 your hearts,3824 then put away5493 853 the strange5236 gods430 and Ashtaroth6252 from among4480 8432 you, and prepare3559 your hearts3824 unto413 the LORD,3068 and serve5647 him only:905 and he will deliver5337 you out of the hand4480 3027 of the Philistines.6430

4 Then the children1121 of Israel3478 did put away5493 853 Baalim1168 and Ashtaroth,6252 and served5647 853 the LORD3068 only.905

5 And Samuel8050 said,559 Gather6908 853 all3605 Israel3478 to Mizpeh,4709 and I will pray6419 for1157 you unto413 the LORD.3068

6 And they gathered together6908 to Mizpeh,4709 and drew7579 water,4325 and poured it out8210 before6440 the LORD,3068 and fasted6684 on that1931 day,3117 and said559 there,8033 We have sinned2398 against the LORD.3068 And Samuel8050 judged8199 853 the children1121 of Israel3478 in Mizpeh.4709

7 And when the Philistines6430 heard8085 that3588 the children1121 of Israel3478 were gathered together6908 to Mizpeh,4709 the lords5633 of the Philistines6430 went up5927 against413 Israel.3478 And when the children1121 of Israel3478 heard8085 it, they were afraid3372 of4480 6440 the Philistines.6430

8 And the children1121 of Israel3478 said559 to413 Samuel,8050 Cease2790 not408 to cry4480 2199 unto413 the LORD3068 our God430 for4480 us, that he will save3467 us out of the hand4480 3027 of the Philistines.6430

9 And Samuel8050 took3947 a259 sucking2461 lamb,2924 and offered5927 it for a burnt offering5930 wholly3632 unto the LORD:3068 and Samuel8050 cried2199 unto413 the LORD3068 for1157 Israel;3478 and the LORD3068 heard6030 him.

10 And as Samuel8050 was1961 offering up5927 the burnt offering,5930 the Philistines6430 drew near5066 to battle4421 against Israel:3478 but the LORD3068 thundered7481 with a great1419 thunder6963 on that1931 day3117 upon5921 the Philistines,6430 and discomfited2000 them; and they were smitten5062 before6440 Israel.3478

11 And the men376 of Israel3478 went out3318 of4480 Mizpeh,4709 and pursued7291 853 the Philistines,6430 and smote5221 them, until5704 they came under4480 8478 Beth-car.1033

12 Then Samuel8050 took3947 a259 stone,68 and set7760 it between996 Mizpeh4709 and Shen,8129 and called7121 853 the name8034 of it Ebenezer,72 saying,559 Hitherto5704 2009 hath the LORD3068 helped5826 us.

13 So the Philistines6430 were subdued,3665 and they came935 no3808 more3254 5750 into the coast1366 of Israel:3478 and the hand3027 of the LORD3068 was1961 against the Philistines6430 all3605 the days3117 of Samuel.8050

14 And the cities5892 which834 the Philistines6430 had taken3947 from4480 854 Israel3478 were restored7725 to Israel,3478 from Ekron4480 6138 even unto5704 Gath;1661 and the coasts1366 thereof did Israel3478 deliver5337 out of the hands4480 3027 of the Philistines.6430 And there was1961 peace7965 between996 Israel3478 and the Amorites.567

15 And Samuel8050 judged8199 853 Israel3478 all3605 the days3117 of his life.2416

16 And he went1980 from4880 1767 year8141 to year8141 in circuit5437 to Bethel,1008 and Gilgal,1537 and Mizpeh,4709 and judged8199 853 Israel3478 in854 all3605 those428 places.4725

17 And his return8666 was to Ramah;7414 for3588 there8033 was his house;1004 and there8033 he judged8199 853 Israel;3478 and there8033 he built1129 an altar4196 unto the LORD.3068

5 Тогда Самуил сказал: — Соберите весь Израиль в Мицпе, и я буду просить Господа за вас.

6 Собравшись в Мицпе, они черпали воду и выливали ее перед Господом. В тот день они постились и каялись: — Мы согрешили против Господа. И Самуил был судьей Израиля в Мицпе.

7 Когда филистимляне услышали, что израильтяне собрались в Мицпе, их правители выступили против Израиля. Узнав об этом, израильтяне испугались.

8 Они сказали Самуилу: — Взывай о нас к Господу, нашему Богу, не переставая, чтобы Он избавил нас от руки филистимлян.

9 Тогда Самуил взял молочного ягненка и принес его во всесожжение Господу. Он взывал к Господу об Израиле, и Господь ответил ему.

10 В то время как Самуил приносил жертву всесожжения, филистимляне приблизились, чтобы напасть на Израиль. Но на этот раз Господь разразился на филистимлян сильным громом и привел их в такой ужас, что они были наголову разбиты израильтянами.

11 Мужчины Израиля выступили из Мицпы и преследовали филистимлян, убивая их вплоть до окрестностей Бет-Кара.

12 Тогда Самуил взял камень и поставил его между Мицпой и Шеном. Он назвал его Эвен-Езер, говоря: «До этого места Господь помог нам».

13 Так филистимляне были побеждены и не вторгались больше в землю израильтян. Пока был жив Самуил, рука Господа была обращена против филистимлян.

14 Города от Экрона до Гата, захваченные филистимлянами у Израиля, возвратились к нему, и Израиль освободил от власти филистимлян прилегающие земли. Между Израилем и аморреями также был мир.

15 Самуил оставался судьей над Израилем всю свою жизнь.

16 Из года в год он обходил Вефиль, Гилгал и Мицпу и повсюду судил Израиль.

17 Но он всегда возвращался в Раму, где был его дом, и там тоже судил Израиль. Там же он построил жертвенник Господу.

10 В то время как Самуил приносил жертву всесожжения, филистимляне приблизились, чтобы напасть на Израиль. Но на этот раз Господь разразился на филистимлян сильным громом и привел их в такой ужас, что они были наголову разбиты израильтянами.

13 Так филистимляне были побеждены и не вторгались больше в землю израильтян. Пока был жив Самуил, рука Господа была обращена против филистимлян.

14 Города от Экрона до Гата, захваченные филистимлянами у Израиля, возвратились к нему, и Израиль освободил от власти филистимлян прилегающие земли. Между Израилем и аморреями также был мир.

15 Самуил оставался судьей над Израилем всю свою жизнь.

16 And he went1980 from4880 1767 year8141 to year8141 in circuit5437 to Bethel,1008 and Gilgal,1537 and Mizpeh,4709 and judged8199 853 Israel3478 in854 all3605 those428 places.4725
