Job

Chapter 40

Moreover the LORD3068 answered6030 Job,347 and said,559

Shall he that contends7378 with the Almighty7706 instruct3250 him? he that reproves3198 God,433 let him answer6030 it.

Then Job347 answered6030 the LORD,3068 and said,559

Behold,2005 I am vile;7043 what4100 shall I answer7725 you? I will lay7760 my hand3027 on my mouth.6310

Once259 have I spoken;1696 but I will not answer:6030 yes, twice;8147 but I will proceed3254 no3808 further.

Then answered6030 the LORD3068 to Job347 out of the whirlwind,5591 and said,559

Gird247 up your loins2504 now4994 like a man:1397 I will demand7592 of you, and declare3045 you to me.

Will you also637 cancel6565 my judgment?4941 will you condemn7561 me, that you may be righteous?6663

Have you an arm2220 like God?410 or can you thunder7481 with a voice6963 like3644 him?

Deck5710 yourself now4994 with majesty1347 and excellency;1363 and array3847 yourself with glory1935 and beauty.1926

Cast6327 abroad6327 the rage5678 of your wrath:639 and behold7200 every3605 one that is proud,1343 and abase8213 him.

Look7200 on every3605 one that is proud,1343 and bring3665 him low;3665 and tread1915 down the wicked7563 in their place.8478

Hide2934 them in the dust6083 together;3162 and bind2280 their faces6440 in secret.2934

Then will I also1571 confess3034 to you that your own right3225 hand3225 can save3467 you.

Behold2009 now4994 behemoth,930 which834 I made6213 with you; he eats398 grass2682 as an ox.1241

See2009 now,4994 his strength3581 is in his loins,4975 and his force202 is in the navel8306 of his belly.990

He moves2654 his tail2180 like3644 a cedar:730 the sinews1517 of his stones6344 are wrapped8276 together.

His bones6106 are as strong650 pieces of brass;5154 his bones1634 are like bars4300 of iron.1270

He is the chief7225 of the ways1870 of God:410 he that made6213 him can make his sword2719 to approach5066 to him.

Surely3588 the mountains2022 bring5375 him forth food,944 where8033 all3605 the beasts2416 of the field7704 play.7832

He lies7901 under8478 the shady6628 trees, in the covert5643 of the reed,7070 and fens.1207

The shady6628 trees cover5526 him with their shadow;6752 the willows6155 of the brook5158 compass5437 him about.

Behold,2005 he drinks6231 up a river,5104 and hastens2648 not: he trusts982 that he can draw1518 up Jordan3383 into413 his mouth.6310

He takes3947 it with his eyes:5869 his nose639 pierces5344 through snares.4170
