耶利米書

第35章

1 當猶大王約西亞之子約雅敬的時候，耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：

2 「你去見利甲族的人，和他們說話，領他們進入耶和華殿的一間屋子，給他們酒喝。」

3 我就將哈巴洗尼雅的孫子雅利米雅的兒子雅撒尼亞和他弟兄，並他眾子，以及利甲全族的人，

4 領到耶和華的殿，進入神的人伊基大利的兒子哈難眾子的屋子。那屋子在首領的屋子旁邊，在沙龍之子把門的瑪西雅屋子以上；

5 於是我在利甲族人面前設擺盛滿酒的罐［pots］和杯，對他們說：「請你們喝酒。」

6 他們卻說：「我們不喝酒；因為我們先祖利甲的兒子約拿達曾吩咐我們說：『你們與你們的子孫永不可喝酒；

7 也不可蓋房、撒種、栽種葡萄園，但一生的年日要住帳棚，使你們的日子在作客旅［be strangers］之地得以延長。』

8 如此［Thus］，凡我們先祖利甲的兒子約拿達所囑咐［charged］我們的話，我們都聽從了，我們和我們的妻子兒女一生的年日都不喝酒；

9 也不蓋房居住，也沒有葡萄園、田地，和種子，

10 但住帳棚，聽從我們先祖約拿達的話，照他所吩咐我們的去行。

11 巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒上此地來，我們因怕迦勒底的軍隊和敘利亞的軍隊，就說：『來吧，我們到耶路撒冷去。』這樣，我們才住在耶路撒冷。」

12 耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：

13 「大軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：你去告訴［tell］猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民說，耶和華說：你們不受教訓，不聽從我的話嗎？

14 利甲的兒子約拿達所吩咐他子孫不可喝酒的話，他們已經遵守；因［for］他們［they］直到今日也不喝酒，卻［but］聽從他們［their］先祖的吩咐；然而［notwithstanding］我從早起來警戒你們，你們卻不聽從我。

15 我從早起來，差遣我的僕人眾先知去，說：『你們各人當回頭，離開惡道，改正行為，不隨從事奉別神，就必住在我所賜給你們和你們列祖的地上。』只是你們沒有聽從我，也沒有側耳而聽。

16 因為［Because］利甲的兒子約拿達的子孫能遵守先人所吩咐他們的命，這百姓卻沒有聽從我；

17 因此，耶和華─大軍之神、以色列的神如此說：看哪［Behold］，我要使我所說的一切災禍臨到猶大［Judah］和耶路撒冷的一切居民。因為我對他們說話，他們沒有聽從；我呼喚他們，他們沒有回答［answered］。」

18 耶利米對利甲族的人說：「大軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：因你們聽從你們先祖約拿達的吩咐，謹守他的一切誡命，照他所吩咐你們的去行，

19 所以大軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：利甲的兒子約拿達必永不缺人侍立在我面前。」

Jeremiah

Chapter 35

1 THE word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

2 Go to the house of the Rechabites and speak to them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.

3 Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Amariah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brothers and all his sons and the whole house of the Rechabites;

4 And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Gedaliah, a prophet of God, whose house was near the chamber of the princes, who dwell above the house of Maasiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door;

5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites vessels full of wine, and cups, and I said to them, Drink wine;

6 But they said, We will drink no wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, You shall drink no wine, neither you nor your sons for ever;

7 Neither shall you build houses for yourselves nor sow seed nor plant vineyards nor have any; but you shall dwell in tents all your days; for you shall live many days in the land where you sojourn.

8 Thus we have obeyed the command of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he has charged us, to drink no wine all our days, neither we nor our wives nor our sons nor our daughters;

9 Nor to build houses for ourselves to dwell in; neither to have vineyards nor fields nor seed;

10 But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

11 But it came to pass when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against the land, we said, Come and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans and for fear of the army of Edom; so we dwell in Jerusalem.

12 Then the word of the LORD came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

13 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction to hearken to my words? says the LORD.

14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, who commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for to this day they drink none, for they have obeyed their father's commandment; yet I have spoken to you and warned you in advance; but you have not listened to me.

15 I have sent also to you all my servants the prophets, sending them in advance, saying, Repent now every man from his evil way and amend your doings and do not go after other gods to serve them, and you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers; but you have not inclined your ear nor listened to me.

16 Behold, the sons of Jonadab have faithfully kept the commandment of their father, who commanded them, but this people has not hearkened to me;

17 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have warned them, but they have not listened; and I have called to them, but they have not answered me.

18 And Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts and done according to all that he has commanded you,

19 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not lack an heir to stand before me for ever.

5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites vessels full of wine, and cups, and I said to them, Drink wine;

6 他們卻說：「我們不喝酒；因為我們先祖利甲的兒子約拿達曾吩咐我們說：『你們與你們的子孫永不可喝酒；

6 But they said, We will drink no wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, You shall drink no wine, neither you nor your sons for ever;

7 也不可蓋房、撒種、栽種葡萄園，但一生的年日要住帳棚，使你們的日子在作客旅［be strangers］之地得以延長。』

7 Neither shall you build houses for yourselves nor sow seed nor plant vineyards nor have any; but you shall dwell in tents all your days; for you shall live many days in the land where you sojourn.

8 如此［Thus］，凡我們先祖利甲的兒子約拿達所囑咐［charged］我們的話，我們都聽從了，我們和我們的妻子兒女一生的年日都不喝酒；

8 Thus we have obeyed the command of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he has charged us, to drink no wine all our days, neither we nor our wives nor our sons nor our daughters;

9 也不蓋房居住，也沒有葡萄園、田地，和種子，

9 Nor to build houses for ourselves to dwell in; neither to have vineyards nor fields nor seed;

10 但住帳棚，聽從我們先祖約拿達的話，照他所吩咐我們的去行。

10 But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

11 巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒上此地來，我們因怕迦勒底的軍隊和敘利亞的軍隊，就說：『來吧，我們到耶路撒冷去。』這樣，我們才住在耶路撒冷。」

11 But it came to pass when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against the land, we said, Come and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans and for fear of the army of Edom; so we dwell in Jerusalem.

12 耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：

12 Then the word of the LORD came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

13 「大軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：你去告訴［tell］猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民說，耶和華說：你們不受教訓，不聽從我的話嗎？

13 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction to hearken to my words? says the LORD.

14 利甲的兒子約拿達所吩咐他子孫不可喝酒的話，他們已經遵守；因［for］他們［they］直到今日也不喝酒，卻［but］聽從他們［their］先祖的吩咐；然而［notwithstanding］我從早起來警戒你們，你們卻不聽從我。

14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, who commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for to this day they drink none, for they have obeyed their father's commandment; yet I have spoken to you and warned you in advance; but you have not listened to me.

15 我從早起來，差遣我的僕人眾先知去，說：『你們各人當回頭，離開惡道，改正行為，不隨從事奉別神，就必住在我所賜給你們和你們列祖的地上。』只是你們沒有聽從我，也沒有側耳而聽。

15 I have sent also to you all my servants the prophets, sending them in advance, saying, Repent now every man from his evil way and amend your doings and do not go after other gods to serve them, and you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers; but you have not inclined your ear nor listened to me.

16 因為［Because］利甲的兒子約拿達的子孫能遵守先人所吩咐他們的命，這百姓卻沒有聽從我；

16 Behold, the sons of Jonadab have faithfully kept the commandment of their father, who commanded them, but this people has not hearkened to me;

17 因此，耶和華─大軍之神、以色列的神如此說：看哪［Behold］，我要使我所說的一切災禍臨到猶大［Judah］和耶路撒冷的一切居民。因為我對他們說話，他們沒有聽從；我呼喚他們，他們沒有回答［answered］。」

17 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have warned them, but they have not listened; and I have called to them, but they have not answered me.

18 耶利米對利甲族的人說：「大軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：因你們聽從你們先祖約拿達的吩咐，謹守他的一切誡命，照他所吩咐你們的去行，

18 And Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts and done according to all that he has commanded you,

19 所以大軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：利甲的兒子約拿達必永不缺人侍立在我面前。」

19 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not lack an heir to stand before me for ever.
