撒母耳記上

第28章

1 當那些日子［In those days］，非利士人聚集軍旅，要與以色列［Israel］打仗。亞吉對大衛說：「你當知道，你和跟隨你的人都要隨我出戰。」

2 大衛對亞吉說：「你［thy］僕人所能作的事，王必知道。」亞吉對大衛說：「這樣，我立你永遠作我的護衛長。」

3 那時撒母耳已經死了，以色列眾人為他哀哭，葬他在拉瑪，就是在他本城裏。掃羅曾在國內不容有靈使的［had familiar spirits］和行巫術的人。

4 非利士人聚集，來到書念安營；掃羅聚集以色列眾人在基利波安營。

5 掃羅看見非利士的軍旅就懼怕，心中甚是［greatly］發顫。

6 掃羅求問耶和華，耶和華卻不藉夢，或烏陵，或先知回答他。

7 掃羅對他［unto his］臣僕說：「當為我找一個有靈使的［hath a familiar spirit］婦人，我好去問她。」臣僕說：「在隱．多珥正［Behold］有一個有靈使的［hath a familiar spirit］婦人。」

8 於是掃羅改了裝，穿上別的衣服，帶著兩個人，夜裏去見那婦人。掃羅說：「求你用靈使［familiar spirit］的法術，將我所告訴你的死人，為我招上來。」

9 婦人對他說：「看哪［Behold］，你知道掃羅從國中剪除有靈使的［have familiar spirits］和行巫術的；這樣，你又為何設網羅［wherefore then layest thou a snare］害我的性命，使我死呢？」

10 掃羅向婦人指著耶和華起誓說：「我指著永生的耶和華起誓，你必不因這事受刑。」

11 婦人說：「我為你招誰上來呢？」回答說：「為我招撒母耳上來。」

12 婦人看見撒母耳，就大聲呼叫，對掃羅說：「你是掃羅，為甚麼欺哄我呢？」

13 王對婦人說：「不要懼怕，你看見了甚麼呢？」婦人對掃羅說：「我看見有眾神從地裏上來。」

14 掃羅說：「他是怎樣的形狀？」婦人說：「有一個老人上來，身穿長衣。」掃羅知道是撒母耳，就屈身，臉伏於地下拜。

15 撒母耳對掃羅說：「你為甚麼攪擾我，招我上來呢？」掃羅回答說：「我甚窘急；因為非利士人攻擊我，神也離開我，不再藉先知或夢回答我。因此請你上來，好指示我應當怎樣行。」

16 撒母耳說：「耶和華已經離開你，且與你為敵，你何必問我呢？

17 耶和華照他藉我說的話，耶和華［LORD］已經從你手裏奪去國權，賜與你的鄰居［thy neighbour］，就是大衛；

18 因你沒有聽從耶和華的命令；他惱怒亞瑪力人，你沒有滅絕他們，所以今日耶和華向你這樣行，

19 並且耶和華必將你和以色列［Israel］交在非利士人的手裏；明日你和你眾子必與我在一處了；耶和華必將以色列的軍兵交在非利士人手裏。」

20 掃羅猛然仆倒，挺身在地，因撒母耳的話甚是懼怕；那一晝一夜沒有吃甚麼，就毫無氣力。

21 婦人到掃羅面前，見他極其驚恐，對他說：「看哪［Behold］，婢女聽從你的話，不顧惜自己的性命，遵從你所曉諭［spakest］的。

22 現在求你聽婢女的話，容我在你面前擺上一點餅［bread］，你吃了，可以有氣力行路。」

23 掃羅不肯，說：「我不吃。」但他的僕人和婦人再三勸他，他才聽了他們的話，從地上起來，坐在床上。

24 婦人急忙將家裏的一隻肥牛犢宰了，又拿麵摶成無酵餅烤了，

25 擺在掃羅和他僕人面前。他們吃完，當夜就起身走了。

1 Samuel

Chapter 28

1 AND it came to pass in those days, the Philistines gathered their armies together in the valley for war to fight with Israel. And Achish said to David, Know assuredly that you shall go out with me to the host, you and your men.Samuel 291 NOW the Philistines gathered together all their armies at Aphek; and the Israelites were encamped by the fountain which is in Jezreel.

2 And David said to Achish, Surely you shall know what your servant can do. And Achish said to David, Therefore I will make you my bodyguard forever.And the lords of the Philistines were passing in review by hundreds and by thousands; but David and his men marched in the rear with Achish.

3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned over him and buried him in Ramtha in his own sepulchre. And Saul had put away the diviners and the wizards out of the land.Then the princes of the Philistines said to Achish, Why are these men marching here? And Achish said to the princes of the Philistines, This is David, the servant of Saul, the king of Israel, who has been with us a year and some months, and I have found no fault in him from the day he came to me until this day.

4 And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and encamped in Shechem; and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they encamped in Gilgal.But the princes of the Philistines were angry with him; and they said to him, Drive this fellow out of the camp, that he may return to his place which you have assigned him; and let him not go with us to the battle, lest he be an adversary to us there; for how could this man reconcile himself to his lord, except with our heads?

5 And when Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.Is not this David, of whom the daughters of Israel sang one to another with timbrels, saying, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands?

6 And when Saul inquired of the LORD, he did not answer him, either by dreams or by fire or by prophets.Then Achish called David and said to him, As the LORD lives, you have been upright, and your coming in and your going out with me in the battle is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to us to this day; nevertheless you are not good in the sight of the lords.

7 Then Saul said to his servants, Seek me a woman who has a familiar spirit, that I may go to her and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman who has a familiar spirit at Endor.Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that you may not displease the lords of the Philistines.

8 And Saul disguised himself and put on other raiment, and he went and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night; and Saul said to her, Divine for me by the familiar spirit, and bring up for me him whom I shall tell you.And David said to Achish, But what have I done? And what have you found in your servant from the day that I have come to you until this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?

9 And the woman said to him, Behold, you know what Saul has done, how he has removed those who have familiar spirits and the wizards out of the land. Why then are you laying a snare for my life to cause me to be put to death?And Achish answered and said to David, I know that you are as good in my sight as an angel of God; but the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go with us to the battle.

10 And Saul swore to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD lives, there shall no harm come upon you for this thing.Now therefore rise up early in the morning with your master's servants who came with you; and at daybreak, go on your way.

11 Then the woman said, Whom shall I bring up to you? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.So David and his men rose up early in the morning to return to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice; and she said to Saul, Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul.

13 And the king said to her, Fear not; what do you see? And the woman said to Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.

14 And he said to her, What is their appearance? And she said to him, An old man is coming up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground and made obeisance.

15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why have you disturbed me to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines are making war against me, and God has departed from me, and answers me no more although I have inquired by the prophets and also by dreams; therefore I have called you, that you may tell me what I shall do.

16 Then Samuel said to Saul, Why do you ask of me, seeing the LORD has departed from you, and now he is with your neighbor David?

17 And the LORD has done to him, as he spoke by me; for he has rent asunder the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor David;

18 Because you did not obey the voice of the LORD and did not execute his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore the LORD has done this thing to you this day.

19 Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with you into the hand of the Philistines; and tomorrow you and your sons shall be with me; the LORD also shall deliver the army of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.

20 Then Saul fell straightway upon his face on the ground, and was exceedingly afraid because of the words of Samuel; and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all that day, nor all that night.

21 And the woman came to Saul, and saw that he was exceedingly afraid, and said to him, Behold, your handmaid has obeyed your voice, and I have put my life in your hand, and have listened to the words which you spoke to me.

22 Now therefore, listen also to the voice of your handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before you; and eat, that you may have strength, because you are going on a journey.

23 But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, begged him; and he hearkened to their voice. So he arose from the ground and sat upon the bed.

24 Now the woman had a fatted calf in the house; and she made haste and killed it, and took flour and kneaded it and baked unleavened bread;

25 And she brought it before Saul and before his servants; and they ate. Then they rose up and went away that night.

4 非利士人聚集，來到書念安營；掃羅聚集以色列眾人在基利波安營。	4 And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and encamped in Shechem; and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they encamped in Gilgal.But the princes of the Philistines were angry with him; and they said to him, Drive this fellow out of the camp, that he may return to his place which you have assigned him; and let him not go with us to the battle, lest he be an adversary to us there; for how could this man reconcile himself to his lord, except with our heads?

6 掃羅求問耶和華，耶和華卻不藉夢，或烏陵，或先知回答他。	6 And when Saul inquired of the LORD, he did not answer him, either by dreams or by fire or by prophets.Then Achish called David and said to him, As the LORD lives, you have been upright, and your coming in and your going out with me in the battle is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to us to this day; nevertheless you are not good in the sight of the lords.
7 掃羅對他［unto his］臣僕說：「當為我找一個有靈使的［hath a familiar spirit］婦人，我好去問她。」臣僕說：「在隱．多珥正［Behold］有一個有靈使的［hath a familiar spirit］婦人。」	7 Then Saul said to his servants, Seek me a woman who has a familiar spirit, that I may go to her and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman who has a familiar spirit at Endor.Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that you may not displease the lords of the Philistines.
8 於是掃羅改了裝，穿上別的衣服，帶著兩個人，夜裏去見那婦人。掃羅說：「求你用靈使［familiar spirit］的法術，將我所告訴你的死人，為我招上來。」	8 And Saul disguised himself and put on other raiment, and he went and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night; and Saul said to her, Divine for me by the familiar spirit, and bring up for me him whom I shall tell you.And David said to Achish, But what have I done? And what have you found in your servant from the day that I have come to you until this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?
9 婦人對他說：「看哪［Behold］，你知道掃羅從國中剪除有靈使的［have familiar spirits］和行巫術的；這樣，你又為何設網羅［wherefore then layest thou a snare］害我的性命，使我死呢？」	9 And the woman said to him, Behold, you know what Saul has done, how he has removed those who have familiar spirits and the wizards out of the land. Why then are you laying a snare for my life to cause me to be put to death?And Achish answered and said to David, I know that you are as good in my sight as an angel of God; but the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go with us to the battle.
10 掃羅向婦人指著耶和華起誓說：「我指著永生的耶和華起誓，你必不因這事受刑。」	10 And Saul swore to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD lives, there shall no harm come upon you for this thing.Now therefore rise up early in the morning with your master's servants who came with you; and at daybreak, go on your way.
11 婦人說：「我為你招誰上來呢？」回答說：「為我招撒母耳上來。」	11 Then the woman said, Whom shall I bring up to you? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.So David and his men rose up early in the morning to return to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
12 婦人看見撒母耳，就大聲呼叫，對掃羅說：「你是掃羅，為甚麼欺哄我呢？」	12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice; and she said to Saul, Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul.
13 王對婦人說：「不要懼怕，你看見了甚麼呢？」婦人對掃羅說：「我看見有眾神從地裏上來。」	13 And the king said to her, Fear not; what do you see? And the woman said to Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.

16 撒母耳說：「耶和華已經離開你，且與你為敵，你何必問我呢？	16 Then Samuel said to Saul, Why do you ask of me, seeing the LORD has departed from you, and now he is with your neighbor David?
17 耶和華照他藉我說的話，耶和華［LORD］已經從你手裏奪去國權，賜與你的鄰居［thy neighbour］，就是大衛；	17 And the LORD has done to him, as he spoke by me; for he has rent asunder the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor David;
18 因你沒有聽從耶和華的命令；他惱怒亞瑪力人，你沒有滅絕他們，所以今日耶和華向你這樣行，	18 Because you did not obey the voice of the LORD and did not execute his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore the LORD has done this thing to you this day.
19 並且耶和華必將你和以色列［Israel］交在非利士人的手裏；明日你和你眾子必與我在一處了；耶和華必將以色列的軍兵交在非利士人手裏。」	19 Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with you into the hand of the Philistines; and tomorrow you and your sons shall be with me; the LORD also shall deliver the army of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.
20 掃羅猛然仆倒，挺身在地，因撒母耳的話甚是懼怕；那一晝一夜沒有吃甚麼，就毫無氣力。	20 Then Saul fell straightway upon his face on the ground, and was exceedingly afraid because of the words of Samuel; and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all that day, nor all that night.
21 婦人到掃羅面前，見他極其驚恐，對他說：「看哪［Behold］，婢女聽從你的話，不顧惜自己的性命，遵從你所曉諭［spakest］的。	21 And the woman came to Saul, and saw that he was exceedingly afraid, and said to him, Behold, your handmaid has obeyed your voice, and I have put my life in your hand, and have listened to the words which you spoke to me.
