創世記

第2章

1 就這樣［Thus］，諸天與大地［heavens and the earth］，並其中的一切［and all the host of them］都造齊了。

2 到第七天，神造物的工已經完畢，就在第七天歇了他一切的工，安息了。

3 神賜福給第七天，定為聖日；因為在這日，神歇了他一切創造的工，就安息了。

4 創造諸天與大地［heavens and of the earth］的世代［generations］，在耶和華神造諸天與大地［heavens and of the earth］的日子，乃是這樣，

5 野地還沒有草木，田間的菜蔬還沒有長起來；因為耶和華神還沒有降雨在地上，也沒有人耕地，

6 但有霧氣從地上騰，滋潤遍地。

7 耶和華神用地上的塵土造人，將生氣吹在他鼻孔裏，他就成了有魂［soul］的活人，名叫亞當。

8 耶和華神在東方的伊甸立了一個園子，把所造的人安置在那裏。

9 耶和華神使各樣的樹從地裏長出來，可以悅人的眼目，其上的果子好作食物。園子當中又有生命樹和分別善惡的樹。

10 有河從伊甸流出來，滋潤那園子，從那裏分為四道：

11 第一道名叫比遜，就是環繞哈腓拉全地的。在那裏有金子，

12 並且那地的金子是好的；在那裏又有樹膠［bdellium］和紅瑪瑙。

13 第二道河名叫基訓，就是環繞埃塞俄比亞全地的。

14 第三道河名叫希底結，流在亞述的東邊。第四道河就是幼發拉底河。

15 耶和華神將那人安置在伊甸園，使他修理，看守。

16 耶和華神吩咐他說：「園中各樣樹上的果子，你可以隨意吃，

17 只是分別善惡樹上的果子，你不可吃；因為在［in］你吃的日子，你［thou］必定死。」

18 耶和華神說：「那人獨居不好，我要為他造一個合適的［meet］配偶幫助他。」

19 耶和華神用土所造成的野地各樣走獸和空中各樣飛鳥都帶到亞當［Adam］面前，看他叫甚麼。亞當［Adam］怎樣叫各樣活的造物［living creature］，那就是牠的名字。

20 亞當［Adam］便給一切牲畜和空中飛鳥、野地走獸都起了名；只是那人沒有遇見合適的［meet］配偶幫助他。

21 耶和華神使亞當［Adam］沉睡，他就睡了；於是取下他的一條肋骨，又把肉合起來。

22 耶和華神就用那人身上所取的肋骨造成一個女人，領她到那人跟前。

23 亞當［Adam］說：這是我骨中的骨，肉中的肉，可以稱她為「女人」，因為她是從「男人」身上取出來的。

24 因此，人要離開父母，與妻子連合；二人成為一體。

25 當時夫妻二人赤身露體，並不羞恥。

Chapter 2

1 THUS the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 And on the sixth day God, finished his works which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his works which he had made.

3 So God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because in it he had rested from all his works which God created and made.

4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the heavens and the earth.

5 And all the trees of the field were not yet in the ground, and every herb of the field had not yet sprung up; for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was no man to till the ground.

6 But a powerful spring gushed out of the earth, and watered all the face of the ground.

7 And the LORD God formed Adam out of the soil of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

9 And out of the ground the LORD God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

10 And a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it divided and became into four heads.

11 The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which encircles the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

12 And the gold of that land is good; there is also beryllium and the onyx stone.

13 And the name of the second river is Gihon, the one which encircles the whole land of Ethiopia.

14 And the name of the third river is Deklat (Tigris); it is the one which flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and to keep it.

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat; for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

18 Then the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper who is like him.

19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them; and whatever Adam called every living creature, that was its name.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to all fowl of the air, and to all wild beasts; but for Adam there was not found a helper who was equal to him.

21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the place with flesh in its stead;

22 And of the rib which the LORD God had taken from Adam he made a woman, and brought her to Adam.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, Adam and his wife, and were not ashamed.

1 THUS the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 到第七天，神造物的工已經完畢，就在第七天歇了他一切的工，安息了。

2 And on the sixth day God, finished his works which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his works which he had made.

3 神賜福給第七天，定為聖日；因為在這日，神歇了他一切創造的工，就安息了。

3 So God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because in it he had rested from all his works which God created and made.

4 創造諸天與大地［heavens and of the earth］的世代［generations］，在耶和華神造諸天與大地［heavens and of the earth］的日子，乃是這樣，

4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the heavens and the earth.

9 And out of the ground the LORD God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and to keep it.

16 耶和華神吩咐他說：「園中各樣樹上的果子，你可以隨意吃，

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;

17 只是分別善惡樹上的果子，你不可吃；因為在［in］你吃的日子，你［thou］必定死。」

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat; for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

18 耶和華神說：「那人獨居不好，我要為他造一個合適的［meet］配偶幫助他。」

18 Then the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper who is like him.
