Розділ 14

1 Другого року Йоаша, Йоахазового сина, Ізраїлевого царя, зацарював Амація, Йоашів син, цар Юдин.

2 Він був віку двадцяти й п'яти літ, коли зацарював, і царював в Єрусалимі двадцять і дев'ять років. А ім'я́ його матері Єгоаддан, з Єрусалиму.

3 І робив він угодне в Господніх оча́х, тільки не так, як його батько Давид, — він робив усе, що робив його батько Йоаш.

4 Тільки пагірки не були знищені, — народ прино́сив жертву та кадив на па́гірках.

5 І сталося, як зміцнилося царство в руці його, то він повбивав своїх слуг, що забили його батька царя.

10 Побити — побив ти Едома, і підне́сло тебе твоє серце. Пишайся собі та сиди в своїм домі! І пощо бу́деш ти дрочи́тися зо злом, бо впадеш ти та Юда з тобою?“

11 Та не послухався Амація. І вийшов Йоаш, Ізраїлів цар, і помірялися він та Амація, цар Юдин, у Юдиному Бет-Шемеші.

12 І був розбитий Юда Ізраїлем, і повтікали кожен до намету свого́.

13 А Йоаш, цар Ізраїлів, схопи́в Амацію, Юдиного царя, сина Йоаша, сина Ахазії, у Бет-Шемеші, і прибув до Єрусалиму, і зруйнував єрусалимський мур від Єфремової брами аж до брами нарі́жної, чотири сотні ліктів.

14 І забрав він усе золото й срібло, та ввесь по́суд, що знахо́дився в Господньому домі та в скарбни́цях дому царе́вого, та запоручників, і вернувся в Самарію.

15 А решта діл Йоаша, що зробив він, та лица́рськість його, і як воював з Амацією, Юдиним царем, — ось вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Ізраїлевих царів.

16 I спочив Йоаш зо своїми батьками, і був похований у Самарії з Ізраїлевими царями, а замість нього зацарював син його Єровоа́м.

17 І жив Амація, Йоашів сии, цар Юдин, по смерті Йоаша, Єгоахазового сина, Ізраїлевого царя, п'ятнадцять літ.

18 А решта діл Амації, — ось вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Юдиних царів.

19 І вчинили на нього змову в Єрусалимі, та він утік до Лахішу. І послали за ним до Лахішу, — і вбили його там.

20 І пове́зли його на ко́нях, і він був похований з батька́ми своїми в Давидовому Місті.

21 І взяв ввесь Юдин наро́д Азарію, — а він був віку шістнадцяти літ, — і настановили його царем замість батька його Амації.

26 бо Господь побачив Ізраїлеву біду, дуже гірку́, і не було вже невільного та вільного, і не було помічника́ Ізраїлеві.

27 Та не говорив Госпо́дь знищити Ізраїлеве ім'я́ з-під неба, і споміг їх рукою Єровоама, Йоашового сина.

2 He was twenty6242 and five2568 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign,4427 and reigned4427 twenty6242 and nine8672 years8141 in Jerusalem.3389 And his mother's517 name8034 was Jehoaddan3086 of Jerusalem.3389

3 And he did6213 that which was right3477 in the sight5869 of the LORD,3068 yet7535 not like David1732 his father:1 he did6213 according to all3605 things as Joash3101 his father1 did.6213

4 However, the high1116 places were not taken5493 away:5493 as yet5750 the people5971 did sacrifice2076 and burnt6999 incense6999 on the high1116 places.

5 And it came1961 to pass, as soon834 as the kingdom4467 was confirmed2388 in his hand,3027 that he slew5221 his servants5650 which had slain5221 the king4428 his father.1

6 But the children1121 of the murderers5221 he slew4191 not: according to that which is written3789 in the book5612 of the law8451 of Moses,4872 wherein834 the LORD3068 commanded,6680 saying,559 The fathers1 shall not be put4191 to death4191 for the children,1121 nor3808 the children1121 be put4191 to death4191 for the fathers;1 but every man376 shall be put4191 to death4191 for his own sin.2399

7 He slew5221 of Edom123 in the valley1516 of salt4417 ten6235 thousand,505 and took8610 Selah5554 by war,4421 and called7121 the name8034 of it Joktheel3371 to this2088 day.3117

8 Then227 Amaziah558 sent7971 messengers4397 to Jehoash,3060 the son1121 of Jehoahaz3059 son1121 of Jehu,3058 king4428 of Israel,3478 saying,559 Come,3212 let us look7200 one another in the face.6440

9 And Jehoash3060 the king4428 of Israel3478 sent7971 to Amaziah558 king4428 of Judah,3063 saying,559 The thistle2336 that was in Lebanon3844 sent7971 to the cedar730 that was in Lebanon,3844 saying,559 Give5414 your daughter1323 to my son1121 to wife:802 and there passed5674 by a wild7704 beast2416 that was in Lebanon,3844 and stepped7429 down the thistle.2336

10 You have indeed smitten5221 Edom,123 and your heart3820 has lifted5375 you up: glory3513 of this, and tarry3427 at home:1004 for why4100 should you meddle1624 to your hurt,7451 that you should fall,5307 even you, and Judah3063 with you?

11 But Amaziah558 would not hear.8085 Therefore Jehoash3060 king4428 of Israel3478 went5927 up; and he and Amaziah558 king4428 of Judah3063 looked7200 one another in the face6440 at Bethshemesh,1053 which834 belongs to Judah.3063

12 And Judah3063 was put to the worse5062 before6440 Israel;3478 and they fled5127 every man376 to their tents.168

13 And Jehoash3060 king4428 of Israel3478 took8610 Amaziah558 king4428 of Judah,3063 the son1121 of Jehoash3060 the son1121 of Ahaziah,274 at Bethshemesh,1053 and came935 to Jerusalem,3389 and broke6555 down the wall2346 of Jerusalem3389 from the gate8179 of Ephraim669 to the corner6438 gate,8179 four702 hundred3967 cubits.520

14 And he took3947 all3605 the gold2091 and silver,3701 and all3605 the vessels3627 that were found4672 in the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and in the treasures214 of the king's4428 house,1004 and hostages,1121 8594 and returned7725 to Samaria.8111

15 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Jehoash3060 which834 he did,6213 and his might,1369 and how834 he fought3898 with Amaziah558 king4428 of Judah,3063 are they not written3789 in the book5612 of the chronicles1697 3117 of the kings4428 of Israel?3478

16 And Jehoash3060 slept7901 with his fathers,1 and was buried6912 in Samaria8111 with the kings4428 of Israel;3478 and Jeroboam3379 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

17 And Amaziah558 the son1121 of Joash3101 king4428 of Judah3063 lived2421 after310 the death4194 of Jehoash3060 son1121 of Jehoahaz3059 king4428 of Israel3478 fifteen2568 6240 years.8141

19 Now they made a conspiracy7195 against5921 him in Jerusalem:3389 and he fled5127 to Lachish;3923 but they sent7971 after310 him to Lachish,3923 and slew4191 him there.8033

20 And they brought5375 him on5921 horses:5483 and he was buried6912 at Jerusalem3389 with his fathers1 in the city5892 of David.1732

21 And all3605 the people5971 of Judah3063 took3947 Azariah,5838 which1931 was sixteen8337 6240 years8141 old,1121 and made him king4427 instead8478 of his father1 Amaziah.558

22 He built1129 Elath,359 and restored7725 it to Judah,3063 after310 that the king4428 slept7901 with his fathers.1

23 In the fifteenth2568 6240 year8141 of Amaziah558 the son1121 of Joash3101 king4428 of Judah3063 Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Joash3101 king4428 of Israel3478 began to reign4427 in Samaria,8111 and reigned forty705 and one259 years.8141

24 And he did6213 that which was evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD:3068 he departed5493 not from all3605 the sins2403 of Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Nebat,5028 who834 made Israel3478 to sin.2398

25 He restored7725 the coast1366 of Israel3478 from the entering935 of Hamath2574 to the sea3220 of the plain,6160 according to the word1697 of the LORD3068 God430 of Israel,3478 which834 he spoke1696 by the hand3027 of his servant5650 Jonah,3124 the son1121 of Amittai,573 the prophet,5030 which834 was of Gathhepher.1662

26 For the LORD3068 saw7200 the affliction6040 of Israel,3478 that it was very3966 bitter:4784 for there was not any shut6113 up, nor369 any left,5800 nor369 any helper5826 for Israel.3478

27 And the LORD3068 said1696 not that he would blot4229 out the name8034 of Israel3478 from under8478 heaven:8064 but he saved3467 them by the hand3027 of Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Joash.3101

28 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Jeroboam,3379 and all3605 that he did,6213 and his might,1369 how834 he warred,3898 and how834 he recovered7725 Damascus,1834 and Hamath,2574 which belonged to Judah,3063 for Israel,3478 are they not written3789 in the book5612 of the chronicles1697 3117 of the kings4428 of Israel?3478

29 And Jeroboam3379 slept7901 with his fathers,1 even with the kings4428 of Israel;3478 and Zachariah2148 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

12 І був розбитий Юда Ізраїлем, і повтікали кожен до намету свого́.

12 And Judah3063 was put to the worse5062 before6440 Israel;3478 and they fled5127 every man376 to their tents.168

13 А Йоаш, цар Ізраїлів, схопи́в Амацію, Юдиного царя, сина Йоаша, сина Ахазії, у Бет-Шемеші, і прибув до Єрусалиму, і зруйнував єрусалимський мур від Єфремової брами аж до брами нарі́жної, чотири сотні ліктів.

14 І забрав він усе золото й срібло, та ввесь по́суд, що знахо́дився в Господньому домі та в скарбни́цях дому царе́вого, та запоручників, і вернувся в Самарію.
