2 «Народы Иудеи плачут по умершим своим, в городах Иудеи люди лежат на земле от слабости, в Иерусалиме люди молят о Божьей помощи.
3 Властители шлют за водою слуг, и те, повинуясь, идут к колодцам, но в них нет воды. Они назад приходят ни с чем и от стыда покрывают головы свои.
4 Никто не готовит землю к севу ; не выпал дождь на землю. Земледельцы от стыда и отчаяния покрывают головы свои.
5 Даже олениха дитя своё оставляет, потому что нет травы.
6 Дикие ослы, стоя на голых холмах, нюхают воздух словно шакалы, но нигде не видно травы».
7 Мы знаем, что всё это наша вина, и поэтому мы страдаем от наших грехов. Господи, чем-нибудь нам помоги ради имени Твоего. Да, мы Тебя покидали не раз и не раз грешили против Тебя.
8 Господь, Ты — наша надежда, Ты — надежда Израиля, Ты от бед его спас. Но почему поступаешь Ты словно чужой на этой земле, странник, который зашёл переночевать?
9 Ты подобен человеку, замершему от удивления. Ты похож на солдата, у которого нет сил никого спасти. Но Ты, Господи, с нами, мы к имени Твоему взываем, поэтому без помощи нас не оставляй!
10 Вот что говорит Господь о народе Иудеи: «Эти люди действительно покинули Меня в помыслах своих и на этом не остановились, так что теперь Господь не примет их и будет помнить всё, что сделали они. Господь накажет их за все грехи».
11 И сказал мне Господь: «Иеремия, не молись о благополучии жителей Иуды.
12 Даже если они будут поститься и молиться Мне, Я не услышу молитвы их. Даже если они принесут Мне зерно и жертвы всесожжения, Я их не приму и уничтожу их. Я лишу их пищи, и они будут голодать. Я нашлю на них страшные болезни».
13 Но я сказал Господу: «Господи, Боже мой, пророки говорили людям Иудеи, что они никогда не будут страдать от вражеских мечей или от голода, Господь даст им мир на этой земле».
14 Тогда Господь ответил мне: «Иеремия, те пророки проповедовали ложь именем Моим, не Я их посылал, не Я велел им говорить с народом. Их пророчества черпали свои истоки из ложных видений и никчёмного волшебства,
15 поэтому Я говорю о тех, кто проповедует именем Моим, хотя Я их не посылал. Они сказали, что нет врагов, которые с мечами придут сюда, и что здесь вовеки не будет голода. Эти пророки умрут от голода и от меча.
16 И люди, с которыми говорили эти пророки, будут выброшены на улицы и умрут от голода и от меча врагов. Я их накажу, и не останется никого, кто сможет их похоронить: ни жён, ни сыновей, ни дочерей.
17 И передай, Иеремия, эту весть: „Глаза Мои наполнены слезами, Я буду плакать день и ночь. Мой возлюбленный народ оплакивать Я буду, поскольку кто-то поразил их и причинил большую боль.
18 Если Я пойду в поля, то увижу убитых мечами, если пойду в города, Я увижу болезни и голод. Пророки и священники попрежнему служат Богу, но не понимают они происходящего вокруг”».
19 Господи, окончательно ли Ты отверг народ Иудеи? Господи, вправду ли Ты ненавидишь Сион? Ты нам такую причиняешь боль, что мы не можем исцелиться. Зачем Ты делаешь это? Мы уповали на мир, но не дождались ничего хорошего. Ждали мы исцеления, но пришёл только ужас.
20 Господи, мы зло наше знаем, знаем грехи наших предков. Да, против Тебя мы грешили!
21 Господи, не отталкивай нас, ради имени Твоего, не отнимай честь трона Твоей славы. Помни и не нарушай то соглашение, которое Ты с нами заключил.
22 Чужеземные идолы бессильны призвать дождь; без Тебя у неба нет власти дождь послать. Ты — наша единственная надежда, Ты — единственный, Кто это сотворил.

3 And their nobles117 have sent7971 their little ones6810 to the waters:4325 they came935 to5921 the pits,1356and found4672 no3808 water;4325 they returned7725 with their vessels3627 empty;7387 they were ashamed954 and confounded,3637 and covered2645 their heads.7218
4 Because5668 the ground127 is chapped,2865 for3588 there was1961 no3808 rain1653 in the earth,776 the plowmen406 were ashamed,954 they covered2645 their heads.7218
5 Yea,1571 the hind365 also calved3205 in the field,7704 and forsook5800it, because3588 there was1961 no3808 grass.1877
6 And the wild asses6501 did stand5975 in5921 the high places,8205 they snuffed up7602 the wind7307 like dragons;8577 their eyes5869 did fail,3615 because3588there was no369 grass.6212
7 O LORD,3068 though518 our iniquities5771 testify6030 against us, do6213 thou it for thy name's sake:46168034 for3588 our backslidings4878 are many;7231 we have sinned2398 against thee.
8 O the hope4723 of Israel,3478 the savior3467 thereof in time6256 of trouble,6869 why4100 shouldest thou be1961 as a stranger1616 in the land,776 and as a wayfaring man732that turneth aside5186 to tarry3885 for a night?
9 Why4100 shouldest thou be1961 as a man376 astonished,1724 as a mighty man1368that cannot32013808 save?3467 yet thou,859 O LORD,3068art in the midst7130 of us, and we are called7121 by thy name;8034 leave5117 us not.408

12 When3588 they fast,6684 I will not369 hear8085413 their cry;7440 and when3588 they offer5927 burnt offering5930 and an oblation,4503 I will not369 accept7521 them: but3588 I595 will consume3615 them by the sword,2719 and by the famine,7458 and by the pestilence.1698

14 Then the LORD3068 said559 unto413 me, The prophets5030 prophesy5012 lies8267 in my name:8034 I sent7971 them not,3808 neither3808 have I commanded6680 them, neither3808 spoke1696 unto413 them: they1992 prophesy5012 unto you a false8267 vision2377 and divination,7081 and a thing of naught,434 and the deceit8649 of their heart.3820
15 Therefore3651 thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 concerning5921 the prophets5030 that prophesy5012 in my name,8034 and I589 sent7971 them not,3808 yet they1992 say,559 Sword2719 and famine7458 shall not3808 be1961 in this2063 land;776 By sword2719 and famine7458 shall those1992 prophets5030 be consumed.8552
16 And the people5971 to whom834 they1992 prophesy5012 shall be1961 cast out7993 in the streets2351 of Jerusalem3389 because44806440 of the famine7458 and the sword;2719 and they shall have none369 to bury6912 them,1992 them,1992 their wives,802 nor their sons,1121 nor their daughters:1323 for I will pour8210853 their wickedness7451 upon5921 them.

19 Hast thou utterly rejected39883988853 Judah?3063 hath thy soul5315 loathed1602 Zion?6726 why4069 hast thou smitten5221 us, and there is no369 healing4832 for us? we looked6960 for peace,7965 and there is no369 good;2896 and for the time6256 of healing,4832 and behold2009 trouble!1205

16 И люди, с которыми говорили эти пророки, будут выброшены на улицы и умрут от голода и от меча врагов. Я их накажу, и не останется никого, кто сможет их похоронить: ни жён, ни сыновей, ни дочерей.

18 Если Я пойду в поля, то увижу убитых мечами, если пойду в города, Я увижу болезни и голод. Пророки и священники попрежнему служат Богу, но не понимают они происходящего вокруг”».

19 Господи, окончательно ли Ты отверг народ Иудеи? Господи, вправду ли Ты ненавидишь Сион? Ты нам такую причиняешь боль, что мы не можем исцелиться. Зачем Ты делаешь это? Мы уповали на мир, но не дождались ничего хорошего. Ждали мы исцеления, но пришёл только ужас.
