Глава 1

1 Бремя Ниневии. Книга видений. Наума Елкотитянина.

2 Иегова есть Бог ревнитель и мститель; мститель Иегова, и силен в ярости; готов мстить Иегова врагам Своим, и бережет Он гнев для ненавидящих Его.

3 Иегова терпит долго, но велик могуществом, и ненаказанным не оставляет греха. Иегова! в буре и вихре путь Его, и пыль от ног Его - туча.

4 Он грозно взглянет на море, и иссушит его, и все реки опустошит; вянет Васан и Кармил, и произрастения Ливана блекнут.

5 Горы дрожат от Него, и холмы тают; и земля трясется от Него, и вселенная, и все живущие на ней.

6 Пред яростью Его кто устоит? и кто стерпит жар гнева Его? Ярость Его льется как огонь, и скалы распадаются от Него.

7 Благ Иегова, твердыня в день бедствия, и знает надеющихся на Него.

8 И сильным разливом вод Он произведет разрушение на месте ее {Ниневии}, и врагов Его постигнет тьма.

9 Что вы замыслили против Иеговы? Он произведет разрушение окончательное; не дважды восстанет беда.

10 Они сплелись как терновый плетень, и от упоения сделались влажны как вино их; но пожраны будут как сухая солома дочиста.

11 Из тебя произошел умысливший зло против Иеговы, советник не добрый.

12 Так говорит Иегова: хотя они благоденствуют, и их так много, но так много их и будет скошено, и он исчезнет. Я теснил тебя, но впредь уже не буду теснить тебя,

13 Сокрушу теперь ярмо его, лежащее на тебе, и узы твои разорву.

14 А о тебе {враг} изрек Иегова: не будет уже отраслей твоего имени; из дома богов твоих истреблю истуканы и изваяния; готовлю тебе гроб, ибо ты упал.

3 The LORD3068 is slow750 to anger,639 and great1431 in power,3581 and will not at all acquit5352 the wicked: the LORD3068 has his way1870 in the whirlwind5492 and in the storm,8183 and the clouds6051 are the dust80 of his feet.7272

4 He rebukes1605 the sea,3220 and makes it dry,3001 and dries2717 up all3605 the rivers:5104 Bashan1316 languishes,535 and Carmel,3760 and the flower6525 of Lebanon3844 languishes.535

5 The mountains2022 quake7493 at him, and the hills1389 melt,4127 and the earth776 is burned5375 at his presence,6440 yes, the world,8398 and all3605 that dwell3427 therein.

6 Who4310 can stand5975 before6440 his indignation?2195 and who4310 can abide6965 in the fierceness2740 of his anger?639 his fury2534 is poured5413 out like fire,784 and the rocks6697 are thrown5422 down5422 by him.

7 The LORD3068 is good,2896 a strong4581 hold4581 in the day3117 of trouble;6869 and he knows3045 them that trust2620 in him.

8 But with an overrunning5674 flood7858 he will make6213 an utter3617 end3615 of the place4725 thereof, and darkness2822 shall pursue7291 his enemies.341

9 What4100 do you imagine2803 against413 the LORD?3068 he will make6213 an utter3617 end:3615 affliction6869 shall not rise6965 up the second time.6471

10 For while5704 they be entwined5440 together as thorns,5518 and while they are drunken5435 as drunkards,5435 they shall be devoured398 as stubble7179 fully4390 dry.3002

11 There is one come3318 out of you, that imagines2803 evil7451 against5921 the LORD,3068 a wicked1100 counselor.3289

12 Thus3541 said559 the LORD;3068 Though518 they be quiet,8003 and likewise3651 many,7227 yet thus3651 shall they be cut1494 down, when he shall pass5674 through. Though I have afflicted6031 you, I will afflict6031 you no3808 more.5750

13 For now6258 will I break7665 his yoke4132 from off5921 you, and will burst5423 your bonds4147 in sunder.

14 And the LORD3068 has given a commandment6680 concerning5921 you, that no3808 more5750 of your name8034 be sown:2232 out of the house1004 of your gods430 will I cut3772 off the graven6459 image6755 and the molten4541 image:6755 I will make7760 your grave;6913 for you are vile.7043
