Первая книга царств

Глава 8

1 Когда Самуил состарился, он своих сыновей поставил судьями в Израиле.

2 Старшего звали Йоэль, младшего — Авия, были они судьями в Беэр-Шеве.

3 Но не пошли они по стопам отца, а погнались за наживой, стали брать подношения и извращать правосудие.

4 Все старейшины Израиля собрались и пришли к Самуилу в Раму.

5 Они сказали ему: «Ты уже стар, а твои сыновья не идут по твоим стопам. Поставь над нами царя, чтобы он нами правил, как это есть у других народов».

6 Но слова старейшин: «Поставь над нами царя, чтобы он нами правил» — не понравились Самуилу, и он стал молиться ГОСПОДУ.

7 ГОСПОДЬ сказал Самуилу: «Прислушайся к голосу народа, ко всему, что они тебе говорят. Ведь не тебя они отвергли, а Меня — чтобы Мне над ними не царствовать.

8 Так они поступали всегда: и когда Я выводил их из Египта, и когда они, отвернувшись от Меня, служили чужим богам, — так поступают и с тобой.

9 Поэтому прислушайся к их просьбе, только сразу объяви им, как именно царь станет править ими».

10 Самуил пересказал все слова ГОСПОДНИ народу, просившему у него царя.

11 Он сказал: «Вот как царь станет править вами: заберет ваших сыновей, одних поставит на свои колесницы, других назначит в конницу, третьих пустит бежать перед колесницами;

12 поставит начальников над тысячами воинов и над полусотнями. Будут ваши сыновья пахать на него и убирать его урожай, делать военное оружие и упряжь для его колесниц.

13 А дочерей ваших он заберет готовить снадобья, варить пищу и печь хлеб.

14 Лучшие ваши поля, виноградники и оливковые рощи заберет он у вас и раздаст своим слугам;

15 от вашего зерна и винограда будет брать десятую часть и отдавать своим царедворцам и слугам.

16 Ваших лучших слуг и служанок и даже ослов он заберет себе на службу.

17 Вы будете отдавать ему десятую часть своих стад и сами станете его слугами!

18 Но в тот день, когда вы поднимете плач из-за царя, которого для себя избрали, не ответит вам ГОСПОДЬ».

19 Народ не стал слушать Самуила и сказал: «Нет, пусть над нами будет царь!

20 Мы будем жить, как другие народы: царь станет править нами, поведет нас в военные походы, первым пойдет за нас в бой!»

21 Самуил выслушал речи народа и пересказал их ГОСПОДУ.

22 ГОСПОДЬ ответил Самуилу: «Прислушайся к их словам, поставь им царя». Тогда Самуил сказал израильтянам: «Идите каждый в свой город».

Chapter 8

1 AND it came to pass, when Samuel was old, he made his sons judges over Israel.

2 Now the name of his first-born son was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah; they were judges in Beer-sheba.

3 But his sons did not walk in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes and perverted judgment.

4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together and came to Samuel to Ramtha,

5 And they said to him, Behold, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now give us a king to judge us like all the nations.

6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said to him, Give us a king to judge us like all the nations. And Samuel prayed before the LORD.

7 And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken to the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt even to this day, as they have forsaken me and served other gods, so do they also to you.

9 Now therefore hearken to their voice; but testify solemnly to them, and show them the law of the king who shall reign over them.

10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who asked of him a king.

11 Then he said, This will be the law of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them for himself for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and they shall run before his chariots.

12 And he will appoint for himself officers of thousands and officers of hundreds and officers of fifties and officers of tens. And they shall plow his ground and reap his harvest and make his implements of war and instruments for his chariots.

13 And he will take your daughters to be weavers and grinders and bakers.

14 And he will take the best of your fields and your vineyards and your oliveyards, and give them to his servants.

15 And he will take the tenth of your crops and of your vineyards, and give to his officers and to his servants.

16 And he will take your menservants and your maidservants, and your goodly young men and your asses, and put them to his work.

17 He will take the tenth of your sheep; and you shall be his servants.

18 And you shall cry for help in that day because of your king whom you shall have chosen for yourselves; and the LORD will not answer you on that day.

19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said to him, No; but we will have a king over us,

20 That we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.

21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he repeated them before the LORD.

22 And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken to their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said to the men of Israel, Go every man to his city.

1 AND it came to pass, when Samuel was old, he made his sons judges over Israel.

4 Все старейшины Израиля собрались и пришли к Самуилу в Раму.

4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together and came to Samuel to Ramtha,

5 Они сказали ему: «Ты уже стар, а твои сыновья не идут по твоим стопам. Поставь над нами царя, чтобы он нами правил, как это есть у других народов».

5 And they said to him, Behold, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now give us a king to judge us like all the nations.

6 Но слова старейшин: «Поставь над нами царя, чтобы он нами правил» — не понравились Самуилу, и он стал молиться ГОСПОДУ.

6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said to him, Give us a king to judge us like all the nations. And Samuel prayed before the LORD.

7 ГОСПОДЬ сказал Самуилу: «Прислушайся к голосу народа, ко всему, что они тебе говорят. Ведь не тебя они отвергли, а Меня — чтобы Мне над ними не царствовать.

7 And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken to the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

8 Так они поступали всегда: и когда Я выводил их из Египта, и когда они, отвернувшись от Меня, служили чужим богам, — так поступают и с тобой.

8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt even to this day, as they have forsaken me and served other gods, so do they also to you.

10 Самуил пересказал все слова ГОСПОДНИ народу, просившему у него царя.

10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who asked of him a king.

11 Он сказал: «Вот как царь станет править вами: заберет ваших сыновей, одних поставит на свои колесницы, других назначит в конницу, третьих пустит бежать перед колесницами;

11 Then he said, This will be the law of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them for himself for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and they shall run before his chariots.

12 поставит начальников над тысячами воинов и над полусотнями. Будут ваши сыновья пахать на него и убирать его урожай, делать военное оружие и упряжь для его колесниц.

12 And he will appoint for himself officers of thousands and officers of hundreds and officers of fifties and officers of tens. And they shall plow his ground and reap his harvest and make his implements of war and instruments for his chariots.

13 А дочерей ваших он заберет готовить снадобья, варить пищу и печь хлеб.

13 And he will take your daughters to be weavers and grinders and bakers.

14 Лучшие ваши поля, виноградники и оливковые рощи заберет он у вас и раздаст своим слугам;

14 And he will take the best of your fields and your vineyards and your oliveyards, and give them to his servants.

15 от вашего зерна и винограда будет брать десятую часть и отдавать своим царедворцам и слугам.

15 And he will take the tenth of your crops and of your vineyards, and give to his officers and to his servants.

16 Ваших лучших слуг и служанок и даже ослов он заберет себе на службу.

16 And he will take your menservants and your maidservants, and your goodly young men and your asses, and put them to his work.

17 Вы будете отдавать ему десятую часть своих стад и сами станете его слугами!

17 He will take the tenth of your sheep; and you shall be his servants.

18 Но в тот день, когда вы поднимете плач из-за царя, которого для себя избрали, не ответит вам ГОСПОДЬ».

18 And you shall cry for help in that day because of your king whom you shall have chosen for yourselves; and the LORD will not answer you on that day.

19 Народ не стал слушать Самуила и сказал: «Нет, пусть над нами будет царь!

19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said to him, No; but we will have a king over us,

20 Мы будем жить, как другие народы: царь станет править нами, поведет нас в военные походы, первым пойдет за нас в бой!»

20 That we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.

21 Самуил выслушал речи народа и пересказал их ГОСПОДУ.

21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he repeated them before the LORD.

22 ГОСПОДЬ ответил Самуилу: «Прислушайся к их словам, поставь им царя». Тогда Самуил сказал израильтянам: «Идите каждый в свой город».

22 And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken to their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said to the men of Israel, Go every man to his city.
