Chapter 1

1 Now king4428 David1732 was old2204 and stricken935 in years;3117 and they covered3680 him with clothes,899 but he got no3808 heat.3179

2 Why his servants5650 said559 to him, Let there be sought1245 for my lord113 the king4428 a young5291 virgin:1330 and let her stand5975 before6440 the king,4428 and let her cherish5532 him, and let her lie7901 in your bosom,2436 that my lord113 the king4428 may get heat.2552

3 So they sought1245 for a fair3303 damsel5291 throughout all3605 the coasts1366 of Israel,3478 and found4672 Abishag49 a Shunammite,7767 and brought935 her to the king.4428

4 And the damsel5291 was very3966 fair,3303 and cherished5532 the king,4428 and ministered8334 to him: but the king4428 knew3045 her not.

5 Then Adonijah138 the son1121 of Haggith2294 exalted5375 himself, saying,559 I will be king:4427 and he prepared6213 him chariots7393 and horsemen,6571 and fifty2572 men376 to run7323 before6440 him.

6 And his father1 had not displeased6087 him at any time3117 in saying,559 Why4069 have you done6213 so?3602 and he also1571 was a very3966 goodly2896 man; and his mother bore him after310 Absalom.53

7 And he conferred1961 1697 with Joab3097 the son1121 of Zeruiah,6870 and with Abiathar54 the priest:3548 and they following310 Adonijah138 helped5826 him.

8 But Zadok6659 the priest,3548 and Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada,3111 and Nathan5416 the prophet,5030 and Shimei,8096 and Rei,7472 and the mighty1368 men which834 belonged to David,1732 were not with Adonijah.138

9 And Adonijah138 slew2076 sheep6629 and oxen1241 and fat4806 cattle4806 by the stone68 of Zoheleth,2120 which834 is by Enrogel,5883 and called7121 all3605 his brothers251 the king's4428 sons,1121 and all3605 the men582 of Judah3063 the king's4428 servants:5650

10 But Nathan5416 the prophet,5030 and Benaiah,1141 and the mighty1368 men, and Solomon8010 his brother,251 he called7121 not.

11 Why Nathan5416 spoke559 to Bathsheba1339 the mother517 of Solomon,8010 saying,559 Have you not heard8085 that Adonijah138 the son1121 of Haggith2294 does reign,4427 and David1732 our lord113 knows3045 it not?

12 Now6258 therefore come,3212 let me, I pray4994 you, give you counsel,6098 that you may save4422 your own life,5315 and the life5315 of your son1121 Solomon.8010

13 Go3212 and get935 you in to king4428 David,1732 and say559 to him, Did not you, my lord,113 O king,4428 swear7650 to your handmaid,519 saying,559 Assuredly3588 Solomon8010 your son1121 shall reign4427 after310 me, and he shall sit3427 on my throne?3678 why4069 then does Adonijah138 reign?4427

14 Behold,2009 while you yet5750 talk1696 there8033 with the king,4428 I also will come935 in after310 you, and confirm4390 your words.1697

15 And Bathsheba1339 went935 in to the king4428 into the chamber:2315 and the king4428 was very3966 old;2204 and Abishag49 the Shunammite7767 ministered8334 to the king.4428

16 And Bathsheba1339 bowed,6915 and did obeisance7812 to the king.4428 And the king4428 said,559 What4100 would you?

17 And she said559 to him, My lord,113 you swore7650 by the LORD3068 your God430 to your handmaid,519 saying,559 Assuredly3588 Solomon8010 your son1121 shall reign4427 after310 me, and he shall sit3427 on my throne.3678

18 And now,6258 behold,2009 Adonijah138 reigns;4427 and now,6258 my lord113 the king,4428 you know3045 it not:

19 And he has slain2076 oxen7794 and fat4806 cattle4806 and sheep6629 in abundance,7230 and has called7121 all3605 the sons1121 of the king,4428 and Abiathar54 the priest,3548 and Joab3097 the captain8269 of the host:6635 but Solomon8010 your servant5650 has he not called.7121

20 And you, my lord,113 O king,4428 the eyes5869 of all3605 Israel3478 are on you, that you should tell5046 them who4310 shall sit3427 on5921 the throne3678 of my lord113 the king4428 after310 him.

21 Otherwise it shall come1961 to pass, when my lord113 the king4428 shall sleep7901 with his fathers,1 that I and my son1121 Solomon8010 shall be counted offenders.2400

22 And, see,2009 while she yet5750 talked1696 with the king,4428 Nathan5416 the prophet5030 also came935 in.

23 And they told5046 the king,4428 saying,559 Behold2009 Nathan5416 the prophet.5030 And when he was come935 in before the king,4428 he bowed7812 himself before6440 the king4428 with his face639 to the ground.776

24 And Nathan5416 said,559 My lord,113 O king,4428 have you said,559 Adonijah138 shall reign4427 after310 me, and he shall sit3427 on my throne?3678

25 For he is gone3381 down3381 this day,3117 and has slain2076 oxen7794 and fat4806 cattle4806 and sheep6629 in abundance,7230 and has called7121 all3605 the king's4428 sons,1121 and the captains8269 of the host,6635 and Abiathar54 the priest;3548 and, behold,2009 they eat398 and drink8354 before6440 him, and say,559 God save2421 king4428 Adonijah.

26 But me, even me your servant,5650 and Zadok6659 the priest,3548 and Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada,3111 and your servant5650 Solomon,8010 has he not called.7121

27 Is this2088 thing1697 done by my lord113 the king,4428 and you have not showed3045 it to your servant,5650 who4310 should sit3427 on the throne3678 of my lord113 the king4428 after310 him?

28 Then king4428 David1732 answered6030 and said,559 Call7121 me Bathsheba.1339 And she came935 into the king's4428 presence,6440 and stood5975 before6440 the king.4428

29 And the king4428 swore,7650 and said,559 As the LORD3068 lives,2416 that has redeemed6299 my soul5315 out of all3605 distress,6869

30 Even3588 as I swore7650 to you by the LORD3068 God430 of Israel,3478 saying,559 Assuredly3588 Solomon8010 your son1121 shall reign4427 after310 me, and he shall sit3427 on my throne3678 in my stead;8478 even3588 so3651 will I certainly do6213 this2088 day.3117

31 Then Bathsheba1339 bowed6915 with her face639 to the earth,776 and did reverence7812 to the king,4428 and said,559 Let my lord113 king4428 David1732 live2421 for ever.5769

32 And king4428 David1732 said,559 Call7121 me Zadok6659 the priest,3548 and Nathan5416 the prophet,5030 and Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada.3111 And they came935 before6440 the king.4428

33 The king4428 also said559 to them, Take3947 with you the servants5650 of your lord,113 and cause Solomon8010 my son1121 to ride7392 on my own mule,6506 and bring3381 him down3381 to Gihon:1521

34 And let Zadok6659 the priest3548 and Nathan5416 the prophet5030 anoint4886 him there8033 king4428 over5921 Israel:3478 and blow8628 you with the trumpet,7782 and say,559 God save2421 king4428 Solomon.8010

35 Then you shall come5927 up after310 him, that he may come935 and sit3427 on my throne;3678 for he shall be king4427 in my stead:8478 and I have appointed6680 him to be ruler5057 over5921 Israel3478 and over5921 Judah.3063

36 And Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada3111 answered6030 the king,4428 and said,559 Amen:543 the LORD3068 God430 of my lord113 the king4428 say559 so3651 too.

37 As the LORD3068 has been1961 with my lord113 the king,4428 even so3651 be he with Solomon,8010 and make his throne3678 greater than the throne3678 of my lord113 king4428 David.1732

38 So Zadok6659 the priest,3548 and Nathan5416 the prophet,5030 and Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada,3111 and the Cherethites,3746 and the Pelethites,6432 went3381 down,3381 and caused Solomon8010 to ride7392 on king4428 David's1732 mule,6506 and brought3212 him to Gihon.1521

39 And Zadok6659 the priest3548 took3947 an horn7161 of oil8081 out of the tabernacle,168 and anointed4886 Solomon.8010 And they blew8628 the trumpet;7782 and all3605 the people5971 said,559 God save2421 king4428 Solomon.8010

40 And all3605 the people5971 came5927 up after310 him, and the people5971 piped2490 with pipes,2485 and rejoiced8056 with great1419 joy,8057 so that the earth776 rent1234 with the sound6963 of them.

41 And Adonijah138 and all3605 the guests7121 that were with him heard8085 it as they had made an end3615 of eating.398 And when Joab3097 heard8085 the sound6963 of the trumpet,7782 he said,559 Why4069 is this noise6963 of the city7151 being in an uproar?1993

42 And while he yet5750 spoke,1696 behold,2009 Jonathan3129 the son1121 of Abiathar54 the priest3548 came;935 and Adonijah138 said559 to him, Come935 in; for you are a valiant2428 man,376 and bring1319 good2896 tidings.1319

43 And Jonathan3129 answered6030 and said559 to Adonijah,138 Truly61 our lord113 king4428 David1732 has made Solomon8010 king.4427

44 And the king4428 has sent7971 with him Zadok6659 the priest,3548 and Nathan5416 the prophet,5030 and Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada,3111 and the Cherethites,3774 and the Pelethites,6432 and they have caused him to ride7392 on the king's4428 mule:6506

45 And Zadok6659 the priest3548 and Nathan5416 the prophet5030 have anointed4886 him king4428 in Gihon:1521 and they are come5927 up from there8033 rejoicing,8056 so that the city7151 rang1949 again. This1931 is the noise6963 that you have heard.8085

46 And also1571 Solomon8010 sits3427 on5921 the throne3678 of the kingdom.4410

47 And moreover1571 the king's4428 servants5650 came935 to bless1288 our lord113 king4428 David,1732 saying,559 God430 make the name8034 of Solomon8010 better3190 than your name,8034 and make his throne3678 greater than your throne.3678 And the king4428 bowed7812 himself on the bed.4904

48 And also1571 thus3602 said559 the king,4428 Blessed1288 be the LORD3068 God430 of Israel,3478 which834 has given5414 one to sit3427 on5921 my throne3678 this day,3117 my eyes5869 even seeing7200 it.

49 And all3605 the guests7121 that were with Adonijah138 were afraid,2729 and rose6965 up, and went3212 every man376 his way.1870

50 And Adonijah138 feared3372 because6440 of Solomon,8010 and arose,6965 and went,3212 and caught2388 hold2388 on the horns7161 of the altar.4196

51 And it was told5046 Solomon,8010 saying,559 Behold,2009 Adonijah138 fears3372 king4428 Solomon:8010 for, see,2009 he has caught270 hold270 on the horns7161 of the altar,4196 saying,559 Let king4428 Solomon8010 swear7650 to me today3117 that he will not slay4191 his servant5650 with the sword.2719

52 And Solomon8010 said,559 If518 he will show himself a worthy2428 man,1121 there shall not an hair8185 of him fall5307 to the earth:776 but if518 wickedness7451 shall be found4672 in him, he shall die.4191

53 So king4428 Solomon8010 sent,7971 and they brought3381 him down3381 from the altar.4196 And he came7126 and bowed7812 himself to king4428 Solomon:8010 and Solomon8010 said559 to him, Go3212 to your house.1004

6 他父親素來沒有使他憂悶，說：「你為什麼這樣行呢［Why hast thou done so］？」他甚俊美，生在押沙龍之後。

7 亞多尼雅與洗魯雅的兒子約押，和祭司亞比亞他商議；二人就順從他，幫助他。

8 但祭司撒督、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅、先知拿單、示每、利以，並大衛的勇士都不順從亞多尼雅。

9 一日，亞多尼雅在隱．羅結旁、瑣希列石頭［stone］那裏宰了牛羊、肥犢，請他的諸弟兄，就是王的眾子，並所有作王臣僕的猶大人；

13 你進去見大衛王，對他說：『我主我王啊，你不曾向婢女起誓說：你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，坐在我的位上嗎？現在亞多尼雅怎麼作了王呢？』

14 看哪［Behold］，你還與王說話的時候，我也隨後進去，證實你的話。」

15 拔．示巴進入內室見王，王甚老邁，書念人［Shunammite］亞比煞正伺候王。

16 拔．示巴向王屈身下拜；王說：「你要甚麼？」

17 她說：「我主［My lord］，你曾向婢女指著耶和華─你的神起誓說：『你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，坐在我的位上。』

18 現在你看［behold］，亞多尼雅作王了，我主我王卻不知道。

19 他宰了許多牛羊、肥犢，請了王的眾子和祭司亞比亞他，並元帥約押；唯獨王的僕人所羅門，他沒有請。

20 我主我王啊，以色列眾人的眼目都仰望你，等你曉諭他們，在我主我王之後誰坐你的位。

21 若不然，到我主我王與列祖同睡以後，我和我兒子所羅門必算為罪人了。」

22 看哪［lo］，拔．示巴還與王說話的時候，先知拿單也進來了。

23 有人奏告王說：「請看［Behold］，先知拿單來了。」拿單進到王前，臉伏於地。

24 拿單說：「我主我王啊［O］，果然應許亞多尼雅說『你必接續我作王，坐在我的位上』嗎？

25 他今日下去，宰了許多牛羊、肥犢，請了王的眾子和軍長，並祭司亞比亞他；他們正在亞多尼雅面前吃喝，說：『願神庇佑亞多尼雅王［God save king Adonijah］。』

26 唯獨我，就是你的僕人和祭司撒督，耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，並王的僕人所羅門，他都沒有請。

27 這事果然出乎我主我王嗎？王卻沒有告訴你的僕人［thy servant］，在我主我王之後誰坐你的位。」

28 大衛王回答［answered］說：「叫拔．示巴來。」拔．示巴就進來，站在王面前。

29 王起誓說：「我指著救我性命脫離一切苦難、永生的耶和華起誓。

30 我既然指著耶和華─以色列的神向你起誓說：你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，坐在我的位上。我今日就必照這話而行。」

31 於是，拔．示巴臉伏於地，向王下拜，說：「願我主大衛王萬歲。」

32 大衛王又說［said］：「將祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅召來。」他們就都來到王面前。

33 王對他們說：「要帶領你們主的僕人，使我兒子所羅門騎我的騾子，送他下到基訓；

34 在那裏，祭司撒督和先知拿單要膏他作以色列的王；你們也要吹號［trumpet］，說：『願神庇佑所羅門王［God save king Solomon］。』

35 然後要跟隨他上來，使他坐在我的位上；他要［he shall］接續我作王。我已派［appointed］他作治理以色列和猶大的［ruler over Israel and over Judah］。」

36 耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅對王說：「阿們。願耶和華─我主我王的神也這樣命定。

37 耶和華怎樣與我主我王同在，願他照樣與所羅門同在，使他的國位比我主大衛王的國位更大。」

38 於是，祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人都下去使所羅門騎大衛王的騾子，將他送到基訓。

39 祭司撒督就從帳幕中取了盛膏油的角來，用膏膏所羅門。他們［they］就吹號［trumpet］；眾民都說：「願神庇佑所羅門王［God save king Solomon］。」

40 眾民跟隨他上來，且吹笛，大大歡樂［rejoiced with great joy］，聲音震地。

43 約拿單對亞多尼雅說：「我們的主大衛王誠然立所羅門為王了。

44 王差遣祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人都去使所羅門騎王的騾子。

45 祭司撒督和先知拿單在基訓已經膏他作王。眾人都從那裏歡呼著上來，聲音使城響動［rang again］，這就是你們所聽見的聲音；

46 並且所羅門登了國位。

47 王的臣僕也來為我們的主大衛王祝福，說：『願王的神使所羅門的名比王的名更尊榮；使他的國位比王的國位更大。』王就在床上屈身下拜。

48 王又說：『耶和華─以色列的神是應當稱頌的；因他賜我一人今日坐在我的位上，我也親眼看見了。』」

49 亞多尼雅的眾客聽見這話就都驚懼，起來四散。

50 亞多尼雅懼怕所羅門，就起來，去抓住祭壇的角。

51 有人告訴所羅門說：「請看［Behold］，亞多尼雅懼怕所羅門王，現在抓住祭壇的角，說：『願所羅門王今日向我起誓，必不用刀殺僕人。』」

52 所羅門說：「他若作忠義的人，連一根頭髮也不致落在地上；他若行惡，必要死亡。」

53 於是所羅門王差遣人，使亞多尼雅從壇上下來，他就來，向所羅門王下拜；所羅門對他說：「你回家去吧。」

18 And now,6258 behold,2009 Adonijah138 reigns;4427 and now,6258 my lord113 the king,4428 you know3045 it not:

18 現在你看［behold］，亞多尼雅作王了，我主我王卻不知道。

19 And he has slain2076 oxen7794 and fat4806 cattle4806 and sheep6629 in abundance,7230 and has called7121 all3605 the sons1121 of the king,4428 and Abiathar54 the priest,3548 and Joab3097 the captain8269 of the host:6635 but Solomon8010 your servant5650 has he not called.7121

19 他宰了許多牛羊、肥犢，請了王的眾子和祭司亞比亞他，並元帥約押；唯獨王的僕人所羅門，他沒有請。

20 And you, my lord,113 O king,4428 the eyes5869 of all3605 Israel3478 are on you, that you should tell5046 them who4310 shall sit3427 on5921 the throne3678 of my lord113 the king4428 after310 him.

20 我主我王啊，以色列眾人的眼目都仰望你，等你曉諭他們，在我主我王之後誰坐你的位。

21 Otherwise it shall come1961 to pass, when my lord113 the king4428 shall sleep7901 with his fathers,1 that I and my son1121 Solomon8010 shall be counted offenders.2400

21 若不然，到我主我王與列祖同睡以後，我和我兒子所羅門必算為罪人了。」

22 And, see,2009 while she yet5750 talked1696 with the king,4428 Nathan5416 the prophet5030 also came935 in.

22 看哪［lo］，拔．示巴還與王說話的時候，先知拿單也進來了。

23 And they told5046 the king,4428 saying,559 Behold2009 Nathan5416 the prophet.5030 And when he was come935 in before the king,4428 he bowed7812 himself before6440 the king4428 with his face639 to the ground.776

23 有人奏告王說：「請看［Behold］，先知拿單來了。」拿單進到王前，臉伏於地。

24 And Nathan5416 said,559 My lord,113 O king,4428 have you said,559 Adonijah138 shall reign4427 after310 me, and he shall sit3427 on my throne?3678

24 拿單說：「我主我王啊［O］，果然應許亞多尼雅說『你必接續我作王，坐在我的位上』嗎？

25 For he is gone3381 down3381 this day,3117 and has slain2076 oxen7794 and fat4806 cattle4806 and sheep6629 in abundance,7230 and has called7121 all3605 the king's4428 sons,1121 and the captains8269 of the host,6635 and Abiathar54 the priest;3548 and, behold,2009 they eat398 and drink8354 before6440 him, and say,559 God save2421 king4428 Adonijah.

25 他今日下去，宰了許多牛羊、肥犢，請了王的眾子和軍長，並祭司亞比亞他；他們正在亞多尼雅面前吃喝，說：『願神庇佑亞多尼雅王［God save king Adonijah］。』

26 But me, even me your servant,5650 and Zadok6659 the priest,3548 and Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada,3111 and your servant5650 Solomon,8010 has he not called.7121

26 唯獨我，就是你的僕人和祭司撒督，耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，並王的僕人所羅門，他都沒有請。

27 Is this2088 thing1697 done by my lord113 the king,4428 and you have not showed3045 it to your servant,5650 who4310 should sit3427 on the throne3678 of my lord113 the king4428 after310 him?

27 這事果然出乎我主我王嗎？王卻沒有告訴你的僕人［thy servant］，在我主我王之後誰坐你的位。」

28 Then king4428 David1732 answered6030 and said,559 Call7121 me Bathsheba.1339 And she came935 into the king's4428 presence,6440 and stood5975 before6440 the king.4428

28 大衛王回答［answered］說：「叫拔．示巴來。」拔．示巴就進來，站在王面前。

29 And the king4428 swore,7650 and said,559 As the LORD3068 lives,2416 that has redeemed6299 my soul5315 out of all3605 distress,6869

29 王起誓說：「我指著救我性命脫離一切苦難、永生的耶和華起誓。

30 Even3588 as I swore7650 to you by the LORD3068 God430 of Israel,3478 saying,559 Assuredly3588 Solomon8010 your son1121 shall reign4427 after310 me, and he shall sit3427 on my throne3678 in my stead;8478 even3588 so3651 will I certainly do6213 this2088 day.3117

30 我既然指著耶和華─以色列的神向你起誓說：你兒子所羅門必接續我作王，坐在我的位上。我今日就必照這話而行。」

31 Then Bathsheba1339 bowed6915 with her face639 to the earth,776 and did reverence7812 to the king,4428 and said,559 Let my lord113 king4428 David1732 live2421 for ever.5769

31 於是，拔．示巴臉伏於地，向王下拜，說：「願我主大衛王萬歲。」

32 And king4428 David1732 said,559 Call7121 me Zadok6659 the priest,3548 and Nathan5416 the prophet,5030 and Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada.3111 And they came935 before6440 the king.4428

32 大衛王又說［said］：「將祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅召來。」他們就都來到王面前。

33 The king4428 also said559 to them, Take3947 with you the servants5650 of your lord,113 and cause Solomon8010 my son1121 to ride7392 on my own mule,6506 and bring3381 him down3381 to Gihon:1521

33 王對他們說：「要帶領你們主的僕人，使我兒子所羅門騎我的騾子，送他下到基訓；

34 And let Zadok6659 the priest3548 and Nathan5416 the prophet5030 anoint4886 him there8033 king4428 over5921 Israel:3478 and blow8628 you with the trumpet,7782 and say,559 God save2421 king4428 Solomon.8010

34 在那裏，祭司撒督和先知拿單要膏他作以色列的王；你們也要吹號［trumpet］，說：『願神庇佑所羅門王［God save king Solomon］。』

35 Then you shall come5927 up after310 him, that he may come935 and sit3427 on my throne;3678 for he shall be king4427 in my stead:8478 and I have appointed6680 him to be ruler5057 over5921 Israel3478 and over5921 Judah.3063

35 然後要跟隨他上來，使他坐在我的位上；他要［he shall］接續我作王。我已派［appointed］他作治理以色列和猶大的［ruler over Israel and over Judah］。」

36 And Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada3111 answered6030 the king,4428 and said,559 Amen:543 the LORD3068 God430 of my lord113 the king4428 say559 so3651 too.

36 耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅對王說：「阿們。願耶和華─我主我王的神也這樣命定。

37 As the LORD3068 has been1961 with my lord113 the king,4428 even so3651 be he with Solomon,8010 and make his throne3678 greater than the throne3678 of my lord113 king4428 David.1732

37 耶和華怎樣與我主我王同在，願他照樣與所羅門同在，使他的國位比我主大衛王的國位更大。」

38 So Zadok6659 the priest,3548 and Nathan5416 the prophet,5030 and Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada,3111 and the Cherethites,3746 and the Pelethites,6432 went3381 down,3381 and caused Solomon8010 to ride7392 on king4428 David's1732 mule,6506 and brought3212 him to Gihon.1521

38 於是，祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人都下去使所羅門騎大衛王的騾子，將他送到基訓。

39 And Zadok6659 the priest3548 took3947 an horn7161 of oil8081 out of the tabernacle,168 and anointed4886 Solomon.8010 And they blew8628 the trumpet;7782 and all3605 the people5971 said,559 God save2421 king4428 Solomon.8010

39 祭司撒督就從帳幕中取了盛膏油的角來，用膏膏所羅門。他們［they］就吹號［trumpet］；眾民都說：「願神庇佑所羅門王［God save king Solomon］。」

40 And all3605 the people5971 came5927 up after310 him, and the people5971 piped2490 with pipes,2485 and rejoiced8056 with great1419 joy,8057 so that the earth776 rent1234 with the sound6963 of them.

40 眾民跟隨他上來，且吹笛，大大歡樂［rejoiced with great joy］，聲音震地。

41 And Adonijah138 and all3605 the guests7121 that were with him heard8085 it as they had made an end3615 of eating.398 And when Joab3097 heard8085 the sound6963 of the trumpet,7782 he said,559 Why4069 is this noise6963 of the city7151 being in an uproar?1993

41 亞多尼雅和所請的眾客筵宴方畢，聽見這聲音。約押聽見號［trumpet］聲就說：「城中為何有這響聲呢？」

42 And while he yet5750 spoke,1696 behold,2009 Jonathan3129 the son1121 of Abiathar54 the priest3548 came;935 and Adonijah138 said559 to him, Come935 in; for you are a valiant2428 man,376 and bring1319 good2896 tidings.1319

42 他正說話的時候，不料［behold］，祭司亞比亞他的兒子約拿單來了。亞多尼雅對他說：「進來吧。你是個勇士［valiant man］，必是報好信息。」

43 And Jonathan3129 answered6030 and said559 to Adonijah,138 Truly61 our lord113 king4428 David1732 has made Solomon8010 king.4427

43 約拿單對亞多尼雅說：「我們的主大衛王誠然立所羅門為王了。

44 And the king4428 has sent7971 with him Zadok6659 the priest,3548 and Nathan5416 the prophet,5030 and Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada,3111 and the Cherethites,3774 and the Pelethites,6432 and they have caused him to ride7392 on the king's4428 mule:6506

44 王差遣祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人都去使所羅門騎王的騾子。

45 And Zadok6659 the priest3548 and Nathan5416 the prophet5030 have anointed4886 him king4428 in Gihon:1521 and they are come5927 up from there8033 rejoicing,8056 so that the city7151 rang1949 again. This1931 is the noise6963 that you have heard.8085

45 祭司撒督和先知拿單在基訓已經膏他作王。眾人都從那裏歡呼著上來，聲音使城響動［rang again］，這就是你們所聽見的聲音；

46 And also1571 Solomon8010 sits3427 on5921 the throne3678 of the kingdom.4410

46 並且所羅門登了國位。

47 And moreover1571 the king's4428 servants5650 came935 to bless1288 our lord113 king4428 David,1732 saying,559 God430 make the name8034 of Solomon8010 better3190 than your name,8034 and make his throne3678 greater than your throne.3678 And the king4428 bowed7812 himself on the bed.4904

47 王的臣僕也來為我們的主大衛王祝福，說：『願王的神使所羅門的名比王的名更尊榮；使他的國位比王的國位更大。』王就在床上屈身下拜。

48 And also1571 thus3602 said559 the king,4428 Blessed1288 be the LORD3068 God430 of Israel,3478 which834 has given5414 one to sit3427 on5921 my throne3678 this day,3117 my eyes5869 even seeing7200 it.

48 王又說：『耶和華─以色列的神是應當稱頌的；因他賜我一人今日坐在我的位上，我也親眼看見了。』」

49 And all3605 the guests7121 that were with Adonijah138 were afraid,2729 and rose6965 up, and went3212 every man376 his way.1870

49 亞多尼雅的眾客聽見這話就都驚懼，起來四散。

50 And Adonijah138 feared3372 because6440 of Solomon,8010 and arose,6965 and went,3212 and caught2388 hold2388 on the horns7161 of the altar.4196

50 亞多尼雅懼怕所羅門，就起來，去抓住祭壇的角。

51 And it was told5046 Solomon,8010 saying,559 Behold,2009 Adonijah138 fears3372 king4428 Solomon:8010 for, see,2009 he has caught270 hold270 on the horns7161 of the altar,4196 saying,559 Let king4428 Solomon8010 swear7650 to me today3117 that he will not slay4191 his servant5650 with the sword.2719

51 有人告訴所羅門說：「請看［Behold］，亞多尼雅懼怕所羅門王，現在抓住祭壇的角，說：『願所羅門王今日向我起誓，必不用刀殺僕人。』」

52 And Solomon8010 said,559 If518 he will show himself a worthy2428 man,1121 there shall not an hair8185 of him fall5307 to the earth:776 but if518 wickedness7451 shall be found4672 in him, he shall die.4191

52 所羅門說：「他若作忠義的人，連一根頭髮也不致落在地上；他若行惡，必要死亡。」

53 So king4428 Solomon8010 sent,7971 and they brought3381 him down3381 from the altar.4196 And he came7126 and bowed7812 himself to king4428 Solomon:8010 and Solomon8010 said559 to him, Go3212 to your house.1004

53 於是所羅門王差遣人，使亞多尼雅從壇上下來，他就來，向所羅門王下拜；所羅門對他說：「你回家去吧。」
