Chapter 1

2 Hear,8085 O heavens,8064 and give ear,238 O earth:776 for the LORD3068 has spoken,1696 I have nourished1431 and brought7311 up children,1121 and they have rebelled6586 against me.

3 The ox7794 knows3045 his owner,7069 and the ass2543 his master's1167 crib:18 but Israel3478 does not know,3045 my people5971 does not consider.995

4 Ah1945 sinful2398 nation,1471 a people5971 laden3515 with iniquity,5771 a seed2233 of evildoers,7489 children1121 that are corrupters:7843 they have forsaken5800 the LORD,3068 they have provoked5006 the Holy6918 One of Israel3478 to anger,5006 they are gone2114 away backward.268

5 Why5921 4100 should you be stricken5221 any more?5750 you will revolt5627 more and more: the whole3605 head7218 is sick,2483 and the whole3605 heart3824 faint.1742

6 From the sole3709 of the foot7272 even to the head7218 there is no369 soundness4974 in it; but wounds,6482 and bruises,2250 and putrefying2961 sores:4347 they have not been closed,2115 neither3808 bound2280 up, neither3808 mollified7401 with ointment.8081

7 Your country776 is desolate,8077 your cities5892 are burned8313 with fire:784 your land,127 strangers2114 devour398 it in your presence,5048 and it is desolate,8077 as overthrown4114 by strangers.2114

8 And the daughter1323 of Zion6726 is left3498 as a cottage5521 in a vineyard,3754 as a lodge4412 in a garden of cucumbers,4750 as a besieged5341 city.5892

11 To what4100 purpose is the multitude7230 of your sacrifices2077 to me? said559 the LORD:3068 I am full7646 of the burnt5930 offerings of rams,352 and the fat2459 of fed4806 beasts;4806 and I delight2654 not in the blood1818 of bullocks,6499 or of lambs,3532 or of he goats.6260

13 Bring935 no3808 more vain7723 oblations;4503 incense7004 is an abomination8441 to me; the new2320 moons2320 and sabbaths,7676 the calling7121 of assemblies,4744 I cannot3808 3201 away with; it is iniquity,205 even the solemn6116 meeting.6116

14 Your new2320 moons2320 and your appointed4150 feasts my soul5315 hates:8130 they are a trouble2960 to me; I am weary3811 to bear5375 them.

15 And when you spread6566 forth your hands,3709 I will hide5956 my eyes5869 from you: yes,1571 when3588 you make many7235 prayers,8605 I will not hear:8085 your hands3027 are full4390 of blood.1818

16 Wash7364 you, make you clean;2135 put5493 away5493 the evil7455 of your doings4611 from before5048 my eyes;5869 cease2308 to do evil;7489

17 Learn3925 to do well;3190 seek1875 judgment,4941 relieve833 the oppressed,2541 judge8199 the fatherless,3490 plead7378 for the widow.490

18 Come3212 now,4994 and let us reason3198 together, said559 the LORD:3068 though518 your sins2399 be as scarlet,8144 they shall be as white3835 as snow;7950 though518 they be red119 like1819 crimson,8438 they shall be as wool.6785

19 If518 you be willing14 and obedient,8085 you shall eat398 the good2898 of the land:776

20 But if you refuse3985 and rebel,4784 you shall be devoured398 with the sword:2719 for the mouth6310 of the LORD3068 has spoken1696 it.

21 How349 is the faithful539 city7151 become1961 an harlot!2181 it was full4392 of judgment;4941 righteousness6664 lodged3885 in it; but now6258 murderers.7523

22 Your silver3701 is become1961 dross,5509 your wine5435 mixed4107 with water:4325

23 Your princes8269 are rebellious,5637 and companions2270 of thieves:1590 every3605 one loves157 gifts,7810 and follows7291 after rewards:8021 they judge8199 not the fatherless,3490 neither3808 does the cause7379 of the widow490 come935 to them.

24 Therefore3651 said5002 the LORD,113 the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 the mighty46 One of Israel,3478 Ah,1945 I will ease5162 me of my adversaries,6862 and avenge5358 me of my enemies:341

25 And I will turn7725 my hand3027 on you, and purely1252 purge6884 away your dross,5509 and take5493 away5493 all3605 your tin:913

26 And I will restore7725 your judges8199 as at the first,7223 and your counsellors3289 as at the beginning:8462 afterward310 3651 you shall be called,7121 The city5892 of righteousness,6664 the faithful539 city.7151

27 Zion6726 shall be redeemed6299 with judgment,4941 and her converts7725 with righteousness.6666

28 And the destruction7667 of the transgressors6586 and of the sinners2400 shall be together,3162 and they that forsake5800 the LORD3068 shall be consumed.3615

29 For they shall be ashamed954 of the oaks352 which834 you have desired,2530 and you shall be confounded2659 for the gardens1593 that you have chosen.977

30 For you shall be as an oak424 whose leaf5929 fades,5034 and as a garden1593 that has no369 water.4325

1 猶大國烏西亞、約担、亞哈士、希西家、相繼在位時、亞麼士子以賽亞、以猶大、耶路撒冷之事、得之默示者、筆於書。

2 天其聞之、地其聽之、耶和華曰、我養民如保赤子、而反忤逆。

3 牛識主、驢知廐、惟我以色列族民、不識不知。

4 我耶和華爲以色列族之聖主、斯民侮予、棄予逆予、風俗澆漓、陷於罪戾、入於邪僻、豈不哀哉。

5 爾旣屢犯、我將加罰、奈身首俱傷、肝膽皆裂、當擊何處。

6 自頂至踵、一身不痊、遍體傷痍、未彌其隙、未裹以巾、未沐以膏。

7 爾地荒蕪、爾邑焚燬、異邦之人至、傾覆爾四境、吞食爾土產、俾爾目擊。

8 郇僅孤城、所存無幾、猶葡萄園之廬、瓜田之舍、被圍之邑而已。

9 民曰、如萬有之主耶和華、不俾我衆猶有孑遺、則必若所多馬、蛾摩拉矣。

10 曰、爾曹與所多馬之君長、蛾摩拉之民人無異、宜聽上帝耶和華之命。

11 耶和華曰、恒獻禮物、與我何與、爾燔牡綿羊、焚肥畜之膋、我所厭惡、牛犢羔羊、牡山羊之血、我不悅懌。

12 爾來覲我、穢我帷塲、誰命之者。

13 毋徒獻禮物、若馨香、月朔、安息日、聖會大日、俱我所厭棄、爾守節期、又復爲惡、故我不悅。

14 朔日節期、我心痛疾、我視若重負而厭之。

15 爾曹殺人、雖舉手禱告弗輟、我必不俯聞、而遐棄爾。

16 當盥手潔心、滌爾污俗、棄惡歸善、公義是行、受人虐遇者、必加援手、孤子嫠婦、必伸其寃。

17 併於上節

18 耶和華又曰、爾來、吾語汝、爾罪貫盈、其色濃若赭、深若絳、我必使之皓然潔白、如棉如雪。

19 如爾順從、可食土產、享其嘉物。

20 如爾悖逆、必亡以刃、我耶和華已言之矣。

21 爾邑自古以來、風俗敦龐、以迄於今、漸流於淫靡矣。昔也行仁義者居之、茲也嗜殺人者處之。

22 爾銀變爲滓、爾酒雜以水、

23 爾之君長悖逆乎我、與盜爲侶、好賄賂、納苞苴、孤子嫠婦、不伸其寃。

24 我耶和華宰萬有、爲以色列族有能之主、今頒斯詔、必報予仇讎、雪予忿怒、

25 輔翼我民、鍛鍊若金、消融渣滓。

26 爾之士師、爾之謀臣、必復崛興、有如疇昔、則爾可爲淳厚之民、敦龐之俗。

27 郇邑之民、悔過行義、則可得救。
