第1章

1 作長老的寫信給蒙揀選的太太［lady］和她的兒女，就是我在真理中［in the truth］所愛的；不但我愛，也是一切知道真理之人所愛的。

2 愛你們是為真理的緣故，這真理住［dwelleth］在我們裏面，也必永遠與我們同在。

3 恩典［Grace］，憐憫，平安，從父─神和父的［of the Father］兒子主［Lord］耶穌基督，在真理和愛心上，必常與你們［you］同在。

4 我見你的兒女，有照我們從父所受的一條［a］命令遵行真理的，就甚歡喜。

5 太太啊，我現在勸你，我們大家要彼此相愛。這並不是我寫一條新命令給你，乃是我們從起初所受的命令。

6 我們若照他的命令行，這就是愛。你們從起初所聽見當行的，就是這命令。

7 因有許多迷惑人的已經進到世界［For many deceivers are entered into the world］，不認［who confess not］耶穌基督是成了肉身來的。這就是迷惑人［a deceiver］、敵基督的。

8 你們要小心，使我們不致［that we］失去那些我們做工所得的［those things which we have wrought］，乃要得著滿足的賞賜。

9 凡違背、不常守基督道理的［Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ］，就沒有神。常守基督道理［doctrine of Christ］的，就有父又有子。

10 若有人到你們那裏，不是傳這道理［doctrine］，不要接他到你們［your］家裏，也不要說神祝福他［bid him God speed］；

11 因為說神祝福他［biddeth him God speed］的，就在他的惡行上有分。

12 我還有許多事要寫給你們，卻不願意用紙墨寫出來；但相信我［I trust］到你們那裏，與你們當面談論，叫我們的［that our］喜樂得以［may be］滿足。

13 你那蒙揀選之姊妹的兒女都問你安。阿們［Amen］。

2 John

Chapter 1

1 THE minister, to the mother church, and her children, those whom I love in the truth, and not I only, but also all those who have known the truth,

2 For the sake of the truth which dwells in us and is with us for ever,

3 Grace be with us, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the LORD Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

4 I rejoiced greatly that I found some of your children living in the truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

5 And now I beseech you, O mother church, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should follow it.

7 For many deceivers have appeared in the world, who do not acknowledge that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist.

8 Look to yourselves, that you lose not those things which you have accomplished, but that you receive a full reward.

9 Whosoever transgresses, and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. He who abides in His doctrine, has both the Father and the Son.

10 If anyone comes to you, and does not bring this doctrine, do not welcome him to your house, neither bid him to eat:

11 For he who bids him to eat is partaker of his evil works.

12 I have many things to say to you, which I do not want to write with paper and ink: but I trust to come to you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.

13 The children of your elect sister Church greet you. Grace be with you. Amen.

6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should follow it.

7 因有許多迷惑人的已經進到世界［For many deceivers are entered into the world］，不認［who confess not］耶穌基督是成了肉身來的。這就是迷惑人［a deceiver］、敵基督的。

7 For many deceivers have appeared in the world, who do not acknowledge that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist.

8 你們要小心，使我們不致［that we］失去那些我們做工所得的［those things which we have wrought］，乃要得著滿足的賞賜。

8 Look to yourselves, that you lose not those things which you have accomplished, but that you receive a full reward.

9 凡違背、不常守基督道理的［Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ］，就沒有神。常守基督道理［doctrine of Christ］的，就有父又有子。

9 Whosoever transgresses, and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. He who abides in His doctrine, has both the Father and the Son.

10 若有人到你們那裏，不是傳這道理［doctrine］，不要接他到你們［your］家裏，也不要說神祝福他［bid him God speed］；

10 If anyone comes to you, and does not bring this doctrine, do not welcome him to your house, neither bid him to eat:

11 因為說神祝福他［biddeth him God speed］的，就在他的惡行上有分。

11 For he who bids him to eat is partaker of his evil works.

12 我還有許多事要寫給你們，卻不願意用紙墨寫出來；但相信我［I trust］到你們那裏，與你們當面談論，叫我們的［that our］喜樂得以［may be］滿足。
